11. 2:23action on it I thought it was a really good article but um but I I uh I sent him the article on Instagram so we'll see we'll
12. 2:31see um yeah it's a good question you know I I can talk about what I did I mean it was it was just it was just one of those things
13. 2:41where I was kind of marveling at his craft right this is this is clearly clearly someone who's done you
14. 2:50know Decades of work to get that good and you know like Talent you know and then and then work ethic on top of that and then just you
15. 3:02know just you know just remarkable craftsmanship I was just kind of marveling at that and then I thought oh
16. 3:09I wonder how quickly I could get to Something in the neighborhood and I got there really quick and so there was a part of me that
17. 3:17was like oh this is like fan generated art fan art and then there was a part of me it was like but is
18. 3:24it and I mean this is the thing that you know that Grimes said to her fan base you know synthesize me all you want make
19. 3:33all the songs you want just give me 50% and you know other artists are going I'll sue your ass and it's like I don't
20. 3:41I don't know that there's a right answer I think I think some artists are going to be like cool you know get the stuff
21. 3:46out there give me some attribution and we're cool other artists are going to be like [ __ ] off and die so anyway I was
22. 3:53equally excited and equally dejected for the artists well so here's the thing though the work that that artist does
23. 4:02that's not getting replaced with AI I mean sure I suppose you could have ai generate that thing print it on shrink
24. 4:10wrap plastic and then wrap a helmet um but but you know he's creating works of art I you know I I I actually feel that
25. 4:19with all this AI stuff work like what that artist does actually goes up in value right because it's handcrafted so I think
26. 4:27authenticity goes up in value I think handcrafted goes up in value I think live performances go up in
27. 4:34value and then all the digital stuff I I I I don't have a [ __ ] clue all the digital stuff like all software all software all video
28. 4:47games all digital art all of it all website development is just you're going to be able to instantly knock it off or be inspired by it
29. 5:00right what is it um wait good artist plagiar eyes great artist steel right I think we're g to move into a world of great art very soon
30. 5:14lots of great [Laughter] art but who was it someone I think it was lunatick on the on the AI Salon made
31. 5:29a really good point about um you know where I chose to take it is me right where I chose to take it where
32. 5:41I chose to stop right the first things that it did it wasn't really anywhere well it was in the neighborhood of what he was
33. 5:49doing but just it didn't look like what he had done and I wanted to see if I could get it close to what he had done
34. 5:56and but then where I ended up stopping with the sort of glowing eyes and things like like that was a really different
35. 6:01kind of thing I think having taste will be very important with the AI Revolution I think taste is everything I think
36. 6:07taste and point of view becomes everything right so so the the power will be in the curators right so maybe the skill moving forward is
37. 6:21curation over creation and then and and what does that skill look like I don't know I took a picture someone had taken and improved
38. 6:30it with AI and he was angry I fed the Beast with his art well the Beast has already fed with his art or it couldn't do what you did Vicki so
39. 6:42listen like I said I mean this this is why empathy is one of the uh is one of the um values of the AI Salon
40. 6:52because people are going to be angry and and especially people that are not in this and don't understand how it works
41. 6:59and just you know have whatever preconceived notions they have yeah that's going to be like that contemplating if I should submit AI art
42. 7:06to my state fair absolutely someone did it here in Colorado a year ago and won it I don't oh if I want to open that can
43. 7:15of worms listen I listen I don't know I mean it's it that's up that's up to you it you know it that's largely up to your comfort zone
44. 7:26I you know from where I sit I I don't I don't think it's anyone's business quite frankly how I got to what I got
45. 7:38to like do do do do do I need to disclose that I used Photoshop and Lightroom to edit my photographs I took on my Sony digital
46. 7:50camera do I need to give the model number and the lens and the settings I put in Lightroom or that I used
47. 7:58Lightroom room that I used a digital image manipulation thing no that's ridiculous like everyone's like of
48. 8:06course not well when when Photoshop first came out and digital cameras first came out that was what everyone said well you
49. 8:16should declare this a digital photograph it's just not a real photograph right there was all that [ __ ] so it's just
50. 8:22it's just the same it's the same argument with different technology um anyway um welcome everybody happy Sunday night this is the

57. 10:00um not long I I kind of started in I I I started a conversation based on a comment and didn't set up the
58. 10:08conversation so it seems like like we're deep in the middle of the conversation we just went live N9 minutes ago so you
59. 10:16we're just we're just live but I'm explaining uh what the conversation was about now okay so so this morning I'm drinking my coffee and
60. 10:27this video pops into my my live and so this is um a guy named Jordan Boral or Baro I don't know if it's baral or Bargo um I assume he is
61. 10:43the official Calgary Flames airbrush artist um and so this is It's a five minute you know process video it's one
62. 10:52of these process videos where you don't quite know what he's doing when it starts and then oh this is a different video hang on this is
63. 11:04here so you you see him masking and he's painting the [ __ ] and then he starts airbrushing the stuff and like he's airbrushing like
64. 11:14these the like the Little Fibers of the yarn he's turning this this pattern into a crocheted you know a knitted sweater right very very
65. 11:27Canada and so I'm just what watching the like normally with these process videos I'll get to about you know a third of
66. 11:33them I'm like I'm good I'll either just skip to the end or just move on and this one I watched the whole thing cuz like
67. 11:39look at the look at just his precision and like that he that he has figured out how to do this in such a I don't know
68. 11:49like how he's making the letters look like they're knitted in and and all that sort of stuff I don't know why it keeps jumping videos that's
69. 11:57weird um let me see I mean look at that God damn and like like he's even sanding it like like
70. 12:13how could you sand that work you just did like what if you rub through it somewhere but like he's done you know
71. 12:18this he's clearly done this for decades right like he just knows this [ __ ] cold yeah it's gorgeous right it's so beautiful and so
72. 12:30what hit me as I'm watching this is I will never in my life be this masterful at anything right it's one of
73. 12:41the one of the downsides of ADHD is you're you're good at a lot of [ __ ] you're masterful at almost nothing right
74. 12:50and that's just that's just part of the part of the deal right so I was kind of I was kind of mesmerized by this thing
75. 12:57and and you could do anything Kyle well and that's kind of what happened so so I thought well I wonder I wonder how well
76. 13:04chat GPT could describe what this did so I went over to chat GPT is this it [Music] no I went over to chat JP T are we not
77. 13:22going to switch again what what are we doing here what ah Microsoft Edge is such a giant Pooh hole of a browser okay so I went over to chat
78. 13:38GPT and I I grabbed you can upload so so for those of you that don't know what I'm what I'm showing you here is taking
79. 13:47advantage of two things within chat G well three things within chat GPT one is its ability to see so you can upload
80. 13:55images to it and it can describe them and then it could also generate images and then it's got its large language
81. 14:01model so you could talk to it so you can upload up to four Images so I just went and I took some screenshots of of the
82. 14:09Tik Tok live and then I uploaded those so this is this is Jordan's work and you know gorgeous go like the H it's just it's it's just
83. 14:20mesmerizing and then I said these are images from different angles of a professional goalie hockey mask please describe them in as much
84. 14:29detail as possible and so it did and there's all the description and I'm looking at it I'm I you know I've
85. 14:36got add so I'm not going to read all that [ __ ] so then I said create a 16x9 image of a goalie wearing this mask although I
86. 14:46wrote wearing this make it it understood though where we see a closeup of his face in the mask from an angle we can
87. 14:54see the detail as well as his intense eyes with the blurry background of the net rink and Arena and so it generated
88. 15:01these and these are in the neighborhood but they're like missing the Calgary Flames you know logo and and color
89. 15:09scheme and and they're like really ropey and big and it just it wasn't quite right right so I was like eh okay is Dolly the best image
90. 15:22generator there there there are four that I think are the top ones they all have some different advantages the big advantage of
91. 15:31do is that you don't actually have to learn how to prompt it all of Del image generation is done in the context of a
92. 15:40chat GPT chat you can learn how to prompt it but you don't have to and so what I'm doing here is I started with it
93. 15:49looking at the images of his mask describe it for me and then I had it use chat GPT use that description to to
94. 15:57create images and so I for that reason it's it's dolly is just a fundamentally different tool because it's more like
95. 16:06you're working with an art director than it is you're working with an image generation tool even though that's exactly what you're doing
96. 16:13okay so then I said um match the colors to the original it's a Calgary Flames color scheme with Reds and yellows
97. 16:21accenting the colors you have analyze the uploaded image uh for color details as well as texture and so if rewrote its
98. 16:29description and then I said perfect Now update the images you created to incorporate these new details and it
99. 16:36gave me these and the the thing that really blew me away here was that's the Calgary Flames logo and the safety guard
100. 16:46rails on these things like if you ask it to to make art of a living artist it it won't do it and and same
101. 16:55with sometimes if you use trademark stuff but it did this so that's surprised me a bit um you know nice nice Calgary Flames
102. 17:04here and sort of the a bit of one there a little janky one there um but they're pretty cool and then I realiz I I
103. 17:11remembered oh uh the more thing we've been talking about in Dolly 3 you can say make it more whatever I could I
104. 17:18could have said make it more crocheted or make it more you you know uh whatever I said make it more intense make make the design and eyes
105. 17:27more intense and so there's one of the more intense versions I was like oh that's cool and there's there's another
106. 17:34one and I and I was like okay make it more intense and now it's got these kind of devil eyes and they're kind of you know they
107. 17:43kind of burn and they match the Flames but now now it lost the Calgary Flames thing so I was like well let me go one
108. 17:50level more intense but I said more intense with players clashing in the distance because I noticed this one this
109. 17:58one had some players in the background I thought oh that would be cool let's get some players in the background so I said
110. 18:04make it more intense with players clashing in the distance keep the Calgary Flames branding active on the
111. 18:10goalie uniform and then it came up with these two and so this has got an NHL logo here it's got a little bit of the Flames but
112. 18:21then there was this one and this one for me it's got the the Calgary Flames logo on the on the neck protector here but
113. 18:30it's got these Flames for eyes and it created this new kind of unique thing and if you zoom in on it it's it's um it
114. 18:38is crocheted it's like knitted but it's it's much smaller it's not that big coarse thing and then and then look at
115. 18:44the hockey players in the background there it just it's like it's it's like he just turned around quick you know
116. 18:52while the Puck's coming down the ice to look at the camera and it and it's it's this crazy easy ass thing and
117. 19:00so this all happened in the space of about 10 minutes while I'm just sort of sitting on the couch drinking coffee and I it put me in in a
118. 19:14weird it's not a dilemma I mean this technology is here it's not like this technology is coming this technology is here so I can be flipping
119. 19:25through anything I could be surfing the internet could be looking at a magazine I could be looking at a billboard
120. 19:31outside I could be at a fair watching someone paint something I could you know find a piece of you know a street sign
121. 19:43inspiring and I can grab an image of that thing and pull it into this tool and start jamming on it and so part of me is like I was so
122. 19:55inspired by Jordan's work that I was like you know this is Fan Art and this is really this is a really cool
123. 20:03extension kind of a collaboration of who he is and what he does and there's another part of me that's like listen you sleazy
124. 20:11[ __ ] this is this is Talent appropriation and and you know I I think that you know reality is likely somewhere in
125. 20:21between um and in the end like you know I'm not going to I'm not going to go try to get a job you know doing hockey masks
126. 20:29with do 3 like this literally like this is something I I would have never done before this was more like a thought
127. 20:36experiment when when I re when I got depressed at how talented this guy was realizing I could never do that and then
128. 20:4410 minutes later later to have this image which is a clear um omage to to the work that he did but it's it's clearly a different thing
129. 20:58thing so do gpts lose their short-term memory despite the documents in the knowledge base do they lose their
130. 21:10short-term well they lose it if you're talking about the context of the specific conversation you're in if you
131. 21:17start a new conversation it will lose the memory of that conversation it can't maintain the thread of conversations across conversations
132. 21:28within the same conversation it it won't lose its memory and it won't lose the memory of what's in the um documents but
133. 21:36it will lose the me memory of your interaction if you change it to a new to a new thing so anyway so that was the that was the
134. 21:45um that was what I did this morning and that was the thing that kind of blew my mind and then I I wrote an article about
135. 21:51it for LinkedIn so if you go to LinkedIn um [Music] it's called Zen and the Art of casual
136. 22:08Excellence um where where I basically just I I put in article form what I just showed you all I said you know here's
137. 22:15the guy here's this remarkable video I said please go watch this video so you know I'm not trying to pull anything
138. 22:23over on him um and then I just talked about the process I said here are the four screen shots I took I uploaded them
139. 22:29to DOI here's what it did and so it's just an article that does that and I basically end it you know with this
140. 22:35thing of like you know you know am am I a you know am I a fanboy or or a thief or both and is it good or bad it part of
141. 22:48what I try to do on this channel is not make any judgments on the technology or how people are using it um
142. 22:59what I'm trying to explore here is what's possible this is now possible and it's not only possible like this is now like
143. 23:09that [ __ ] image like that image that's a stunning image to my eyes can Dolly create a user interface design for
144. 23:19yes it can it can and I can show you that in fact one of the things you can do with with Dolly from an interface
145. 23:26design standpoint is 8:22 p.m. thanks Siri you're awesome um you could upload a whiteboard sketch or a paper sketch of an interface um
146. 23:39have it describe the interface and then tell it to design the interface for you and it it'll do it now it's not
147. 23:44actionable it'll be more like a design inspiration it's not going to create you know a separated out figma design but
148. 23:52it's going to design something that will probably give you some new ideas that is super cool Silver Fox wow that's

153. 25:11um I know you can ask it for a seed image but they also call it something else the the reference I haven't PL I I haven't I've
154. 25:22played with it a little bit I haven't had terrific luck with it I can explain what it is so basically when you make an image with a
155. 25:33generative image generation tool like mid Journey or stable diffusion or Dolly it's generated with what's called
156. 25:39a seed and it's it's just a unique number that is kind that references the the the specific amalgamation of you know
157. 25:51pixelized data that gets denoised into an image and so if you reuse use that seed you tend to get um consistent images across prompts
158. 26:07um there's some people have claimed they've gotten really good results with it I've gotten kind of janky ass results
159. 26:13with it so I I I haven't explored it enough to know oh gen ID number thanks Papa JJ yeah so so what I would say what
160. 26:21I would say cam is is um generate an image and then ask chat GPT to give you the gencore ID hash hashtag number so Jore ID hashtag or
161. 26:38hash symbol hashtag symbol and then when it gives you that the next time you do a prompt say use this gen ID and give me whatever the new
162. 26:51part of the prompt is you seated some images for a child's book I saw I saw the video yesterday I know I did Silver Fox but I just
163. 27:03it it I couldn't I couldn't get it to maintain the style so like the the um I think it was the Llama it was it
164. 27:19was some animal I had that had you know patches of color and then the next image it didn't have the patches of color so
165. 27:30I I just I'm not good at it I like I I don't want to tell you how to do something if I don't actually know how
166. 27:38to do it right so I don't actually know how to do it right there are probably some videos on it here's the deal I
167. 27:44guarantee you that there's someone that has geeked the [ __ ] out on this and that video probably exists um mine's not the
168. 27:52one to do on it um I've just named the character like the Hedgehog demo and the other characters have the same name of
169. 28:00it yeah that that was that was that's another that's a good point Sherry D so you can get the seed number the the
170. 28:06other thing you can do what they did in the in the uh when they announced Dolly 3 was they named um the Hedgehog Larry
171. 28:17so one of the reasons hedgehogs come up as our as our animals here as we were talking about Larry the Hedgehog a lot
172. 28:25so you can name the you can name a specific character in the scene and then say hey you know what does Larry's house
173. 28:32look like or I want to see Larry in an open field that can help as well can I share my open in login with my family
174. 28:40I'm pretty sure you can um if too many people use it you're going to run up against rate limits though right so if
175. 28:48you get someone really excited about it and they go knock out 50 images and it rate limits for 3 hours and you're at
176. 28:56work and need to use it you're going to be pissed off so um I don't think they've got anything in there with
177. 29:04different sessions where where you can't have a different session because they've got it rate limited I think they'll just
178. 29:09shut you down so um Cindy [ __ ] who spoke at the AI Salon her her daughter really got into it and she ended up having to
179. 29:20um join a different uh create a different subscription so Cindy [ __ ] is a 2 GPT for subscription family uh for
180. 29:29that very reason uh can I join I assume you mean that means the AI Salon yeah sure hang on let me let me show you what the AI Salon is

190. 31:12voice and they're [ __ ] going nuts on it and empathy um empathy is's a big one there's a lot of people are scared right now A lot of people

208. 33:24the salon where you can sort of geek out on a specific thing so there's a writing Guild and an Art Guild and a beginners
209. 33:30Guild and a technologist Guild and all that sort of happy horse [ __ ] so so that's what the salon's all about so if

284. 46:45[ __ ] they they are janky pieces of [ __ ] it doesn't mean you shouldn't be building things on them it doesn't mean
285. 46:52you shouldn't trying to be doing business with them but what it means is your expectations should be low your expectations should
286. 47:02be let's assume that these things are just horrible useless things that no business can ever use and then they will surprise you and
287. 47:13and and you'll you'll find things that they can do well Corps can't stop talking about art artificial intelligence tools but few businesses
288. 47:21report using them there's a there was an Ethan mullik study not too long ago that that um the forget what it was it was a uh was
289. 47:34it Bost was it Boston Consulting Group I I don't remember what it was um but it basically said yeah current businesses are not using them
290. 47:43and but almost all of them from the SE Suite to the director level said we've got to be up in our game what's your

299. 49:23stuff right the the democratization of access to these tools is the thing that um that chat jpt has has really shifted
300. 49:33and the the core technology beneath chat GPT the Transformer that Google invented I will give Google credit for that they
301. 49:42invented the core technology that all of the stuff that we're playing with right now is built on um and and it makes all of this stuff
302. 49:52possible whether it's music generation or or um uh word generation or images or videos all this stuff is made possible
303. 50:03from from the same basic architecture um the other thing that we're starting to see now is the fruits of what happens
304. 50:18when a piece of software like chat CHT gets to 100 million users and 6 weeks so so when chat GPT launched they
305. 50:30didn't think anyone would really give a [ __ ] about it and uh people did so they got to a million users in
306. 50:38five days they got to a 100 million users in six weeks it was the fastest adoption of technology in history why well because all of a sudden
307. 50:51the thing that all of us thought you had to have a mathematics degree to be able to use you could just type in words and
308. 50:58it would spit out this remarkable [ __ ] and and uh so it was all word of mouth and and the impact of that was
309. 51:09that all tech companies all investors all technologist all Engineers all open- Source projects all of them went and turned their focus to AI
310. 51:23remember we were into metaverse for a while we're talk about metaverse then we were talking about web 3 and nfts and
311. 51:28Defi and like we were all over the place we were trying to we were trying to find it and then chat GPT comes out and and
312. 51:36the Global Tech Community has gone and focused on AI so um we're we are right now starting to see the fruits
313. 51:47of that labor all of that investment so the reason you're starting to see like these video tools getting better and and
314. 51:55better and better is they've just been hammering away out it and there's they keep raising $50 million here $100
315. 52:02million there is anyone using co-pilot I'm not using co-pilot because we don't have a an Enterprise license for uh for
316. 52:11365 so and I and I haven't played with the the co-pilot Studio because so co-pilot if you don't know is Microsoft's version of chat GPT it's
317. 52:21being Incorporated in everything Microsoft which is why the firing of Sam Altman was one of the reasons it was so
318. 52:31dramatic is you've got you know one of the biggest companies in the world has bet their entire company or you know a
319. 52:39good chunk of their future on this one company's technology and so when that happened uh you know it got spooky
320. 52:46anyway co-pilot is their version of chat GPT and then just like chat GPT has gpts co-pilot has co-pilots and there's a
321. 52:56thing called co-pilot Studio where you can make these sharable customizable versions of your co-pilot um I haven't
322. 53:04played with it I don't have access to it so anyway if anyone's played with it let me know um co-pilot plus power bi equals monster
323. 53:21data analysis yeah I would think so just yeah exactly um I don't know powerbi power business intelligence but
324. 53:31I don't know powerbi but um yeah I would think so co-pilot's going to allow you to easily integrate your data from across
325. 53:44the Microsoft ecosystem into these custom uh co-pilots so yeah it's going to be amazing all right all teachers and let's
326. 54:01see us compels Saudi to fund Saudi fund to exit Alman backed AI chip startup oh interesting that doesn't
327. 54:12surprise me they that got some bad press quickly so that Sam mman was raising money in Saudi Arabia for a chip company
328. 54:22but you know what what that says to me is open AI is realizing they can't they can't be beholden to Nvidia and they can't be beholden to
329. 54:32Microsoft they they've got to have they've got to be able to stand alone um which was really interesting
330. 54:39that that when that thing was about to blow up that it open AI was just going to become Microsoft like it was just
331. 54:46going to become the entire employee base was going to go over there um I've asked a bunch I have a bottle of Blandon I'd

365. 1:00:29possibly because it didn't work right it it could have been equality issue I don't like I don't know um but it kind
366. 1:00:38of flamed out and and went away and then in this past year one of the every single tech company every single tech company after chat GPT did
367. 1:00:49what it did came out of the woodwork and said we got AI too IB M was no exception so IBM came out and said hey we've got
368. 1:00:58we've had AI for years we've got Watson AI which is their new revamped I assume Transformer based you know generalized
369. 1:01:07model of of Watson but I but I honestly don't know um it is it is an attempt at a resurrection of that brand which is
370. 1:01:19it's not a bad thing to do but it like it didn't go down like it didn't go away elegantly so the brand has been damaged right you
371. 1:01:33know it's not quite the equivalent of Microsoft bringing back clippy but you know it's in the hood oh
372. 1:01:48man powerbi is a Microsoft app used for data visualization and dashboards oh yeah I bet I bet bet then that that's absolutely insane

388. 1:04:45on into that now you you you won't be able to do that with chat GPT but you'll be able to do that with open source
389. 1:04:50stuff the the question is if those autonomous agents decide on their own that they need to figure out how to
390. 1:05:00tap someone's phone line and then tap it and get that maybe all you did was you said hey I want to get paid back for this
391. 1:05:11thing and the autonomous agent decided on its own to tap someone's phone who's liable for that that's really

599. 1:43:43pyramid is like I need it to be good and if I need it to be good I I'll likely use some of these AI tools but likely in
600. 1:43:52conjunction with a human being that's going to refine them polish them up I like turtles and then at the top of the
601. 1:43:59pyramid is I need it to be excellent and if I need it to be excellent it may or may not involve AI it will likely involve lots of human
602. 1:44:10power and energy and and that's where you know craft is still going to matter at the top of the pyramid but the bottom of the pyramid
603. 1:44:24stuff that stuff is just going to like the value of it's going to drop to zero so it's going to it's going to compress
604. 1:44:29the top of the pyramid you're going to have to be really good to rise above and then what's going to happen is
605. 1:44:36both existing practitioners so let's let's say it's musicians existing musicians that Embrace AI are going to get really good
606. 1:44:44at AI music and non-musicians who get really good at AI are going to accept sell at music or yeah at at AI
607. 1:44:55music musicians that resist it are going to get you know sort of squeezed out by those two you know musicians who embrace
608. 1:45:04it and non-musicians who embrace it um and they they're going to get squeezed they're either going to have to
609. 1:45:10do top of the pyramid kind of work or they'll get squeezed into doing you know live performance things that can't be as
610. 1:45:16easily you know disrupted so um so anyway yeah that stuff's coming I know it's crazy isn't it um AI or preset sounds framework so

662. 1:55:42could you know do that you could also use other kinds of inputs moving forward so the Google's um Vision Pro goggles
663. 1:55:54they've got sensors they've got I think 16 different sensors in those goggles and they've got realtime um data processing on device so
664. 1:56:05you could you could literally be monitoring the micro movements in people's pupils to understand how they're feeling and
665. 1:56:15dynamically um compose music to go with the visuals and to match their emotion so like not only is that
666. 1:56:26possible like the technology to do it is already being played with like it already exists it's just you kind of have to
