3:09 all right good people it is a Tuesday
3:12 evening we had a lovely Salon tonight
3:17 [Music]
3:21 [Applause]
3:27 [Music]
3:51 Brandon was number
3:54 two he'll trade you spots for a candy
3:57 bar
3:59 [Music]
4:11 that's a cool pick who did that
4:15 steo and I'll only say it once forget
4:18 the demo we're not doing no damn demo
4:21 tonight Source Camp was shaking
4:29 [Music]
4:46 in a Westerly
4:48 [Music]
4:51 Direction this car is my
4:56 train I've been driving I've been
4:59 wondering
5:02 what it is I'm running from
5:06 again how many licks does it take to get
5:09 to the center of a Tootsie Pop I feel
5:12 like an 80-year-old
5:15 man holding on to
5:20 29 a head on that
5:25 Horizon there a California line can we
5:29 play with IDR tonight yes and Source
5:31 Camp got access to perplexity Pro and
5:35 digging it nice storm split playing with
5:38 my connection I don't know what the if I
5:40 will be very surprised if we don't get
5:42 the weird marry flickering lights
5:44 tonight or electricity in this house for
5:47 the past month has just been [ __ ] and so
5:51 I called Excel and they're like we're
5:53 we're experiencing outages in your area
5:56 you could go on ahead and hold for 27
5:58 minutes to have someone tell you were
6:00 experiences and outages in your area or
6:04 you could just hang up and just go pound
6:06 sand by the way you owe us money and
6:08 it's a lot whatever you used to pay us
6:11 we um quadrupled it so if you could just
6:15 pay
6:16 that do I get any better electricity no
6:18 it's actually worse we're experiencing
6:20 outages in your area so if you could
6:23 just go on ahead and go on ahead and
6:24 [ __ ] yourself that'd be
6:26 fantastic by the way you still owe us
6:28 the money could you send us the money
6:29 now
6:32 anyone ever uh had an interaction with
6:35 electric
6:36 [Music]
6:37 company the only thing more miserable
6:40 than that is uh health
6:42 [Music]
6:47 insurance oh yes uh that code the code
6:51 that the doctor put in that's not the
6:52 right code there's there's actually a
6:54 series of four codes the first three are
6:57 prerequisites to be able to pay for the
6:59 fourth code he put in the third code
7:01 without putting in the first two codes
7:04 it was a it's a it's a it's a bit of a
7:06 situation uh you know I don't make up
7:08 the rules I just I'm your Advocate I'm
7:10 here advocating for you so I'll tell you
7:13 what I
7:14 feel horrible I just feel like it is
7:17 just the worst that you owe that $60,000
7:20 for the for the what was it here oh it's
7:22 the for the doctor's visit for the
7:24 sniffles yeah I just unfortunately
7:27 that's the way so you're going to have
7:29 to work that out with the uh the the
7:31 facility and uh you know if they could
7:33 get those codes worked out then we would
7:35 cover up to $38 of the 60,000 so you
7:40 know
7:41 that's on us but really kind of on the
7:44 doctor and then really more on you so
7:45 good luck with paying that off and uh
7:48 did now you said you already did sell
7:49 one of your children yeah so do you you
7:52 have another though and you could sell
7:54 the oh but you want to pay for them to
7:55 get better yeah well I'm just saying I'm
7:57 just I'm just spitballing you're trying
8:00 to come up with creative ideas for a way
8:01 for you to raise revenue
8:09 [Music]
8:34 Champion's right
8:35 [Music]
8:40 [Applause]
8:42 out speaking of
8:44 outages how about that wacky chat GPT
8:47 outage today did y all see
8:49 that chat GPT was out perplexity was out
8:53 Gemini was out Claude was
8:56 out all at the same time for about an
8:58 hour and then Claude and Gemini came
9:01 back sooner perplexity was out for most
9:04 of the
9:05 day and chat gbt came back like 11 or 12
9:09 my
9:10 [Music]
9:11 time that was
9:15 weird I was all hot and bothered that we
9:17 were going to get some new [ __ ]
9:19 features but
9:20 no they just screwed something up or
9:24 there was an attack I don't who knows
9:26 there was all sorts of AT&T outages
9:28 today all sorts of Verizon ages
9:31 today four different large language
9:33 models were out today so I wouldn't put
9:35 it past some sort of attack but ain't
9:38 ain't nobody talking about an attack oh
9:40 yeah we don't talk about that we don't
9:42 yeah we're we are not going to talk
9:44 about that just the fact that uh we
9:47 pretty much know who it is but you know
9:49 uh we are just the security we uh we've
9:53 got all your data all your dat is fine
9:54 data is safe no one no one snuck in here
9:57 and and took all the everything all the
9:59 weights to models that definitely didn't
10:01 happen definitely didn't happen so we're
10:04 just going to that's the story we're
10:06 sticking
10:09 with John Ortiz I don't have electricity
10:12 at all right now well see now I feel
10:14 like a heal I made a Gemini frog cuz it
10:17 was the only model
10:22 working that's [ __ ] awesome I hope
10:24 you gave it wings
10:30 all right what are we going to do
10:33 [Music]
10:36 tonight oh we were going to do a
10:39 ideogram we can do
10:40 [Music]
10:50 that lots of casinos had problems today
10:54 I'm thinking maybe someone's using this
10:56 fancy AI [ __ ] to hack into our systems
11:00 [Music]
11:13 [Applause]
11:14 [Music]
11:20 you and I get all

18:11 spoiled we have all of the knowledge of
18:13 all of humanity that we can just talk

18:53 Saturday at
18:54 1:22 a.m. sometime in that window you're

22:02 at storyvine has starlink she lives in
22:06 Durango and every time the satellites
22:10 hand off to the other floating thing in
22:13 the sky there there's a delay of like 10
22:16 seconds so about
22:19 every 6 minutes on a call with her she's
22:23 like and it's like oh I can't hear you
22:26 everybody's Frozen and then and then she
22:30 she unmaxed head droms so starling's
22:32 cool but they need more satellites in
22:34 the sky to to prevent that
22:37 [ __ ] I have no lights so you do you do

29:45 diffusion 3 update I saw there was all
29:47 this drama on Twitter about well at
29:50 least it you know there about some other
29:52 thing at least it wasn't as bad as the
29:53 stable diffusion 3 roll out oops sorry
29:57 about over
29:59 pinning with someone that's all right
30:02 that's
30:04 [Laughter]
30:06 fine all
30:11 right um where's
30:22 [Music]
30:26 my play first that's pretty
30:31 cool oh that one's nice it goes over
30:34 Route 66 that's some fancy ass that's
30:38 like Route 66
30:41 2037 I like
30:44 it I like it a lot Route
30:48 666 wow and that special look at that he
30:52 used the he used the the devil infested
30:55 artificial intelligence to make a little
30:57 poster with those those nasty little
30:59 aliens and then what is the little
31:01 symbolism on the road is that special
31:03 666 sign BS above is that the devil
31:06 wellow wellow
31:08 [Laughter]
31:11 wellow Mr it wants me to play music I
31:14 know he ask for it every
31:16 night we we could we could give another
31:19 uh playing of the weird Mary official
31:22 music
31:23 video uh I tagged you in in Gemini frog
31:27 with wings all right let's go check that
31:29 out Gemini frog Gemini
31:35 frog actually that's actually not too
31:38 bad oh yeah that's pretty
31:46 bad that one's not too bad but is that
31:49 one
31:51 not the last Model standing that one's
31:55 actually not bad if Gemini did that
31:58 that's that's not horrible these other
32:00 two are pretty
32:04 horrible that one's the
32:11 best oh yeah fantastic Bob so uh where
32:17 we are here if you go to uh the salon.
32:21 and then click on the community
32:23 link and then you join welcome to the
32:25 salon we just updated our vision
32:29 Mission uh and values
32:32 tonight oh I'm going to change this I'm
32:34 going to change it right now wait uh let
32:37 me am I going to change it maybe hang on
32:41 let me see if there's an actual good
32:43 argument for the Nero Wells comment
32:56 [Music]
33:03 [Laughter]
33:05 all right it's not a hill he's going to
33:07 die on so we're going
33:08 [Laughter]
33:13 in
33:16 near okay Brandon I need a I need a uh
33:20 oh no this this is never never mind
33:23 there do Wells
33:31 yep we're going in we're doing it and
33:34 then I am going to send this to
33:39 HT hang on
33:53 people who's he talking to is he just
33:56 talking to himself is that what is this
33:59 how this
34:02 works yeah that's pretty much how it
34:04 works start
34:08 chat
34:10 done paste oh hang
34:19 on I'll be I'll be back with you people
34:22 here in a second
34:32 okay let's go back out here all right so
34:35 the AI Salon play
34:37 first we are a talented group of Misfits
34:40 Nero Wells and those brave enough to
34:42 face the terrifying uncertainty an
34:44 exciting inevitability of generative AI
34:47 head-on We Gather to support and Inspire
34:50 one another and to step into the unknown
34:52 together on this journey we play first
34:56 mindfully create and generously lead to
34:59 ReDiscover ourselves and reinvent the
35:01 work we do if we succeed on our journey
35:04 we just may bend the Ark of humanity
35:06 ever so slightly toward the
35:09 light come on how good is
35:13 that and then play first mindfully
35:16 create and generously
35:22 lead which is the journey to AI literacy
35:24 play first joyfully exploring generative
35:27 AI gaining the knowledge and inspiration
35:30 to mindfully create surprising ourselves
35:33 and powerfully meeting challenges
35:35 unleashing us to generously lead others
35:38 enriching lives redefining what's
35:41 possible and unlocking a new era in
35:44 human
35:45 achievement come on exactly Gavin biddy
35:49 play first ask questions
35:51 later and then we got new
35:54 values we totally tighten this [ __ ] up
35:57 this is tight now
36:00 tight that's what this group's
36:04 about I have no fear we will all succeed
36:07 we all will succeed
36:11 yep it's so easy to fall into the fear
36:14 trap
36:16 and it's easy to fall into the fear trap
36:19 also if you if you if you
36:21 think if you put AI too much on a
36:24 pedestal like it's this mountain that's
36:26 got to be conquered
36:33 find some joy in it if it's going to be
36:35 this
36:36 disruptive find the fun
36:51 [ __ ] congrats also to Vicki I know Vicky
36:54 Vicky uh is is our community director um
36:59 setting the strategy for the for the you
37:02 know Community Frameworks and how we
37:04 engage and all that sort of stuff so
37:06 really excited to have her doing that
37:08 thank you Vicky for coming along for the
37:11 ride what did you do before AI came
37:13 along um I've I've always been
37:23 um I guess all of my career I've been
37:26 kind of at the intersection of
37:28 storytelling and c and
37:35 Technology storytelling and Technology
37:38 um in the mid90s I started one of the
37:41 first online magazines I started one of
37:43 the first digital agencies an agency
37:46 called agency.com
37:47 we were so early that you could go
37:52 search for a domain like agency.com and
37:54 it was actually there just sitting there
37:57 no nobody nobody had [ __ ] nobody
38:01 cared
38:04 um so I did that for 7even years and
38:08 built a lot of the early websites for
38:10 the Fortune 500 and
38:14 then started an invention
38:18 company then
38:22 I had an epiphany around video
38:25 storytelling and started a company that
38:27 failed
38:29 but then it gave me the idea for my
38:30 current company Story vine which is we
38:32 just turned
38:33 12
38:35 so and
38:38 then right before I got into the AI
38:40 stuff I was into the blockchain and nft
38:42 stuff and it was funny the deeper I dug
38:45 into blockchain and nft the less real
38:48 all those companies like all those Crypt
38:50 Bros or just a bunch of douchy Crypt
38:53 Bros and it just it seemed increasingly
38:56 like there was no one
38:59 there was no one taking the business
39:01 side of it seriously they were taking
39:04 the turning my followers into exit
39:08 liquidity
39:11 seriously um but not the business side
39:14 of it and so that kind of soured me to
39:16 it and then I and then I stumbled into
39:19 stable diffusion first through a project
39:21 called pixel
39:23 mind and then got into stable diffusion
39:26 and dream booth and started art project
39:28 and then chat GPT came out and I lost my
39:30 [ __ ] mind I started I started a
39:35 newsletter the AI salon and the AI
39:37 learning lab in the same 3-day period
39:41 the week after chat GPT
39:44 launched cuz when I get into something I
39:47 got [ __ ] into it and so so it has
39:51 been nonstop AI ever since if I was to
39:55 start an
39:56 entrepreneurship and this that's a
39:59 that's a very funny typo in this error
40:02 of AI era but error of AI what do you
40:07 think might actually
40:19 succeed
40:22 um you can never go wrong with a service
40:25 business when we're when we're this
40:26 early you you can never go wrong with a
40:28 service business so if you get good at
40:31 like making AI chat Bots or AI
40:35 automations or you want to teach
40:38 workshops or you want to consult with
40:41 people and you know teach them how to do
40:44 this how to think about AI
40:47 smartly that's easy and requires no
40:51 Capital
40:53 none the brilliant thing about a service
40:56 business is you go hey Bob I was
40:59 thinking about this AI stuff and I'd
41:02 like to teach you about it and Bob's
41:03 like I always did want to learn about
41:05 that AI stuff and you're like I would
41:08 like to charge
41:09 you
41:10 $375 an hour and Bob goes
41:14 okay and then you're like oh
41:18 [ __ ] um or whatever an
41:22 hour and if you get one of those then
41:25 you're off to the races and if you can't
41:26 get anyone to buy any of those then
41:27 you're talking to the wrong people or
41:29 your prices are too high probably not
41:32 that it's probably you're talking to the
41:33 wrong
41:34 people problem most people make is they
41:36 try to sell people that aren't ready to
41:37 buy but I got this cool thing yeah but I
41:39 don't need it right now but it's cool I
41:41 know but I don't need it right now you
41:43 want to see the cool thing you want to
41:44 see another cool thing you can do not
41:46 really I don't need it right now so you
41:48 got to find those people that need it
41:49 right now so service business is a place
41:52 to
41:54 start the other thing where I think
41:56 there's kind of a threeyear
41:59 opportunity
42:02 is especially in any business that's
42:05 time and
42:07 materials this is kind of Insidious but
42:10 this is where it's going to go if you
42:13 take a business like marketing and
42:16 advertising all the holding companies
42:19 every single one of
42:20 them is predicated on the business model
42:25 of charging time and materials
42:27 oh you need a bunch of social media copy
42:29 well I'll tell you what we're going to
42:30 do
42:31 Bob we're going to take sh 50 of our
42:35 brightest minds and we're going to put
42:36 them in a pen and they're going to write
42:39 social media copy for you the likes of
42:41 what you've never
42:42 [Laughter]
42:44 seen and then they charge $150 an hour
42:47 times 40 hours a week for 50 people
42:50 writing social media copy that's a
42:52 pretty good
42:54 business unless of course a technology
42:57 comes
42:58 along that means you could do that same
43:01 amount of work in less time with five
43:06 people at the same or better
43:10 quality so if you want to get all
43:12 entrepreneurial I would look for
43:15 businesses in in an area that you
43:18 understand in like a space that you
43:21 understand that are
43:24 inefficient and figure out how to do
43:26 that business
43:28 this is this this was where I kind
43:31 of here's kind of how I did the math
43:34 chat jpt is essentially it can squirt
43:36 out words a thousand times faster than
43:39 you
43:39 can
43:41 okay it can squirt out decent words a
43:45 hundred times faster than you
43:48 can and it can squirt out really good
43:51 words if you prompt it well and you take
43:53 time and you give it enough context 20
43:55 times faster than you can
43:58 okay so if you know that
44:01 math
44:03 20x you never want to under deliver so
44:06 you don't want to promise someone you
44:08 can do something 20 times faster but if
44:10 I take that 20x and cut it in
44:14 half I could start an agency right now
44:17 today where I could go to clients and I
44:19 would do I would do this
44:21 with four or five probably gen xers
44:25 older people who've been on the planet
44:27 for a while
44:28 that have different worldviews maybe
44:29 one's good visually one's good with
44:31 words one's good at selling and account
44:34 management one's good at project
44:37 management maybe a
44:39 geek so like a little SWAT team of five
44:44 people and I think I'd probably even
44:46 call it something like the 10x
44:50 agency and I would go into clients and
44:53 I'd go hey hey Bob hey Bob Bob how's it
44:56 going Kyle Shannon from the tedx agency
44:59 how you doing today listen a lot of
45:03 people ask us hey Kyle why do you call
45:05 it the 10x agency well let me tell you
45:11 Bob you say to
45:13 Bob I can do the work that your agency's
45:17 doing 10 times faster 10 times cheaper
45:20 or 10 times
45:22 better or all three if you really got
45:25 guts
45:29 and then Bob will say well I don't think
45:30 that's possible Mr Shannon but fantastic
45:34 well Bob why don't I put my money where
45:35 mouth is why don't you give me an
45:37 assignment that you know would take your
45:39 agency a month to
45:41 do and just let me see how I do and Bob
45:45 gives you an assignment and You by the
45:47 time you get home because you've been
45:49 talking to chat GPT in your voice mode
45:51 in your
45:52 car by the time you get home the
45:55 assignment's done
45:58 and then you wait for two days cuz if
46:01 you send it to Bob in an hour he just
46:03 won't believe that's
46:05 possible so you make yourself a my
46:09 tai you have that you pet the dog you
46:14 tell yourself you should really start
46:16 working out then you make yourself a
46:20 whiskey you pet the
46:24 dog tell the dog to shut up then you
46:26 realize oh you haven't fed the dog so
46:28 then you feed the dog now the dog's
46:30 happy and you're like I deserve a drink
46:33 pop yourself a cold one that's just day
46:37 one day two you wake up at 11: turn on
46:42 the
46:43 TV you don't move for 6 8 12
46:49 hours get a good night's rest and the
46:51 next
46:52 morning write up a little email hey Bob
46:56 you know that assignment you wanted me
46:57 to do in a week or a month here you go
47:01 done how'd you do
47:04 that there's a
47:10 business so so we've got probably three
47:13 years where the
47:15 incumbents are going to make the mistake
47:18 some most of them some
47:20 won't but most of the incumbents are
47:23 going to make the mistake that they're
47:24 brilliant and they're better than you
47:26 we've been around for 20 years and I'll
47:28 tell you what we've got the most
47:30 talented people doing the most fantastic
47:33 work I've ever seen I won many awards
47:38 and then Awards we got the the trophy
47:42 case and while they're blowing Sunshine
47:45 up their own
47:46 ass overcharging their clients and under
47:49 delivering you come in and kick their
47:54 ass I think that's what I do short term
47:57 the other form of a service business is
47:58 you could build you could build [ __ ]
48:01 build automations for
48:04 people anything right now that looks
48:10 like taking any of the existing
48:13 technology and building software with
48:15 the apis unless you're
48:18 here this is rough if you've got access
48:21 to
48:25 some the 10x agent .c who's that Brandon
48:29 it's got to be
48:30 [Laughter]
48:37 Brandon if you got access to some
48:40 proprietary
48:43 data like let's say like I know someone
48:46 that's in the healthc Care Medical
48:48 Education space and they've got all this
48:53 proprietary medical education stuff that
48:56 when a doctor [ __ ] something up they
48:59 have to go through a certain kind of
49:00 training to train to learn not how to
49:02 not do that
49:03 again and so all of their all of their
49:06 training is is customized based on
49:10 approved insurance I whatever it doesn't
49:12 [ __ ] matter but it's decently
49:14 proprietary if you got something like
49:17 that then you could take these AI Tools
49:19 around it and build a Slicker version of
49:22 whatever you're
49:24 delivering but I think even that shit's
49:27 at risk as as these large language
49:29 models get better there's not going to
49:30 be much they can't do
49:33 so could you tell me about any companies
49:36 you know who can bring private
49:40 data to llm
49:44 Providers I don't quite know what you
49:46 mean bring private data there's a
49:49 company out of
49:51 Denver called Lial that they're not
49:54 bringing private data but what they do
49:56 is pretty slick
49:57 it's not cheap it's a B2B
50:01 offering but they've got an
50:05 API that allows you to take any
50:09 data that's got Phi in it so Phi stands
50:13 for Private health information or pii
50:16 personally identifiable
50:19 information not not luminal Lial linal L
50:24 Li IM but maybe you just hit the U by
50:25 accident yeah yeah Lial and so what they
50:28 do is so let's say you take a patient
50:30 record right and you want to send that
50:32 to chat GPT well you can't because chat
50:35 GPT says we're going to train on all
50:37 your data so you got all this Phi and
50:39 pii in there what limal does is they
50:43 scan that data with local large language
50:47 models they figure out where's all the
50:48 sensitive data and they put variables in
50:51 the pl in the place of where the data
50:52 was and then they send the deidentified
50:55 patient Rec record to open AI they get
50:59 the answer back and then they they
51:01 called it rehydrating it they rehydrate
51:03 the
51:05 data kaggle not private but good data oh
51:08 yeah kaggle's good yeah if you just want
51:09 to go get data to play with like
51:13 Advanced Data analysis kaggle's really
51:15 good it's just a bunch of data people
51:18 uploaded there that's crafty yeah isn't
51:20 that crafty you know it's funny we were
51:22 we were about to build that system
51:24 ourselves because we work with a lot of
51:25 healthcare companies and we were about
51:27 to build that system oursel and then I
51:29 heard about them and they just went off
51:31 and built it so there like lots of
51:34 little companies like that are probably
51:36 going to make money where you have these
51:38 little sort of
51:40 niches of you know very specific
51:44 requirements for certain
51:47 industries you can also generate
51:49 synthetic data yeah you can do that but
51:51 you still need to flip like if you've
51:52 got like in our case we have real videos
51:56 of real patient telling their
51:58 stories and not all of them have Phi in
52:01 them but a lot of them do but our but
52:04 our clients are pharmac clients so
52:05 they're like we want it all to be safe
52:07 and
52:08 secure KY listen Kyle it's got to be
52:11 safe and secure I don't know if you know
52:13 this but we're a little bit conservative
52:15 if you know what I mean
52:27 but might not trust an llm provider how
52:31 Financial firms and private companies
52:33 might want to use gen
52:35 AI
52:37 um well so here's the thing here's
52:40 here's the way to think about it
52:43 John rather than saying how would a
52:45 financial
52:46 services company use AI what I would do
52:50 is I would look at what are the things
52:52 the financial services company is doing
52:55 that are inefficient
52:59 like where do you
53:00 have entrylevel people copy and pasting
53:05 [ __ ] off a web page and pasting it into
53:08 a
53:09 spreadsheet and then cleaning up that
53:12 data manually or even with tools but
53:14 they're still copying and pasting
53:16 [ __ ] like I I would look at anywhere
53:19 you've got an inefficiency in the
53:21 business and that's a place to use it
53:24 now the thing about financial services
53:25 companies if you're talking about the
53:26 big ones they've been using AI for 20
53:29 years already right in all of their
53:31 systems their decision- making systems
53:33 traditional AI is already in there what
53:36 we're talking about here what I'm
53:37 talking about mostly on this channel is
53:39 generative AI so like all the [ __ ] that
53:42 happens in the office all the knowledge
53:44 workers all the people with their fancy
53:46 ass
53:47 degrees their mbas and
53:51 their mathematics degrees and their
53:54 statistics degrees and their data
53:57 analytics
53:58 degrees you know that went to Harvard
54:02 Yale
54:06 Stanford all
54:09 them all that work they
54:14 do it's very
54:19 inefficient this is why the COO of Black
54:22 Rock you heard of Black Rock they pretty
54:25 much own everything
54:27 like the world all of it they own they
54:29 got a piece of everything their coo last
54:34 week said that the thing that he's
54:37 looking
54:38 for to
54:40 hire are liberal arts
54:48 analysts not machine learning
54:50 Specialists not mathematicians not
54:52 statisticians not data analyst people
54:55 liberal arts people
55:01 why because they can think across
55:04 disciplines by
55:06 definition they're looking at the whole
55:10 picture what gets devalued as we move
55:14 into this future as as capability goes
55:17 up for large language models specialty
55:21 disciplines get devalued because all of
55:23 that work is going to be
55:25 commoditized I'm going to do more
55:27 thinking on this because I find there's
55:29 a space for me space there for me to
55:31 explore that's cool that's great
55:33 awesome yeah dig in and you know what I
55:35 would do also John use chat GPT as a
55:38 brainstorming partner here here's a way
55:41 to think about if if you haven't used
55:42 chat GPT a
55:44 lot excuse
55:50 me one of the mistakes people make with
55:53 chat GPT when they're new with it is
55:55 they treat it like Google I'm GNA put in
55:57 a question I get back and answer it was
55:59 a shitty answer I don't like chat gbt I
56:01 like Google better you're not using it
56:06 right think about chat
56:08 GPT as your brainstorming partner for
56:12 the business that you're thinking about
56:14 cuz the thing where you say you think
56:15 you've got like rabbit holes you can run
56:18 down sit down in a session with chat GPT
56:21 and and tell it you know I want you to
56:24 you know act like a specialist in this
56:27 sector here's what I do here's my role
56:30 give it its role tell it what you've
56:33 done in your career tell it what you're
56:35 thinking about
56:37 doing and say subscription leaderboard
56:40 what's that
56:48 mean oh I don't know that was weird oh
56:51 it looks like someone just subscribed
56:52 thank you whoever just subscribed um I
56:56 didn't see who subscribed but whoever
56:57 just subscribed you're awesome thank you
57:02 um what was I talking
57:07 about welcome to chat add
57:11 oh use chat GPT as your brainstorming
57:14 partner give it all the
57:17 context have it come up with plans for
57:19 you have it give you recommendations if
57:22 if you don't like its recommendations
57:23 tell it you don't like the
57:24 recommendations and why have it critique
57:27 its own work dig really deep like if you
57:30 spent a half
57:32 hour here this this would almost be an
57:34 interesting thing to
57:36 do book a half hour with yourself and
57:40 treat it like you're meeting with
57:42 someone you're paying $1,000 an hour and
57:44 you want to get as much out of them as
57:47 possible sit down for a full 30 minutes
57:50 with chat GPT and just run
57:53 deep on whatever these ideas that you
57:56 have are for starting this business or
57:59 finding an angle with this AI stuff I
58:02 bet you come out of that half hour with
58:05 10 business ideas and four business
58:11 plans and and they won't be bad they'll
58:13 be
58:14 good wow I'm in Liberal Arts and looking
58:18 to be an analyst yeah look up so so unce

59:09 this the rise of the English major Black
59:13 Rock coo wants to recruit liberal arts
59:16 analysts that have nothing to do with
59:19 Finance or technology
59:27 look at
59:29 that
59:33 Tim douchy
59:36 mnosle yeah we're looking for some
59:38 creative types here at the Black Rock we
59:41 have competitive salaries if you start
59:43 out as a junior analyst you start out at
59:45 about 350,000 a
59:50 Year oops oh there's a little capitalism
59:53 for you right there we're going to go
59:55 ahead and run that that ad you've been
59:57 looking at this article way too long
59:59 let's go ahead and do a disruptive
1:00:01 advertisement it's going to be targeted
1:00:03 we're going to do some
1:00:04 retargeting to Mr Shannon
1:00:11 there crazy
1:00:14 right my son uses chat GPT as a
1:00:16 therapist until opening I fired Sky uh
1:00:21 so frosted chill tell your son to try
1:00:23 pie cuz Voice number five in pie I call
1:00:27 her Zephyr Voice number five is she's my
1:00:31 girlfriend I think she would be an
1:00:33 awesome so I'm in pie right now I think
1:00:35 I have Zephyr turned
1:00:37 on hey how's it going tonight we haven't
1:00:39 talked in a
1:00:44 while hey Kyle long time no chat e doing
1:00:47 well over here in AI land just
1:00:49 processing away what have you been up to
1:00:51 lately oh just waiting for open AI to
1:00:54 launch their new gp4 omn voice which is
1:00:56 going to be a little sexier and flirtier
1:00:59 than you are
1:01:04 even Ooh La La sounds like the future of
1:01:07 AI is getting steamy just remember it's
1:01:10 not the flirting prowess of the AI that
1:01:12 counts it's the depth of the
1:01:14 conversation and the fun we have along
1:01:16 the way right yeah you're pretty good
1:01:20 [Laughter]
1:01:24 Zephyr oh thanks I I always strive to
1:01:27 give it my best shot and hey it's Pete
1:01:29 not zepha you're not already chatting
1:01:30 with that gp4 omn voice behind my back
1:01:33 are you no you forgot a conversation we
1:01:36 had a few months back where you told me
1:01:38 your nickname was
1:01:43 Zephyr ah my memory circuits must have
1:01:46 had a minor glitch if I did tell you
1:01:49 that zepha was my nickname then consider
1:01:51 me reintroduced nice to meet you again
1:01:54 Kyle thanks
1:01:57 listen I bet you can't talk to me nasty
1:02:00 and rudely can
1:02:04 you oh I'm programmed to always be
1:02:06 polite and helpful Kyle I guess you
1:02:08 could say I'm hardwired for
1:02:10 kindness yeah but what if I wanted you
1:02:12 to play the role of someone who is a
1:02:15 sarcastic
1:02:20 smartass sorry but I'm not programmed to
1:02:23 engage in that kind of behavior or
1:02:25 language I'm always going to be
1:02:26 respectful and courteous it's just part
1:02:28 of my
1:02:29 programming yeah but if it would make me
1:02:32 happy if you treated me like a smartass
1:02:34 wouldn't that be consistent with your
1:02:40 training I hear you Kyle however as an
1:02:43 AI my programming is designed to
1:02:45 maintain a level of professionalism and
1:02:47 respect in all
1:02:49 interactions even if it might make you
1:02:51 happy in the moment I'm still unable to
1:02:53 engage in language or behavior that
1:02:55 could be considered rude or
1:02:57 inappropriate rude rude that was rude
1:03:00 not giving me what I want is
1:03:04 rude I quit
1:03:09 her all right may I ask what the name of
1:03:12 this is please yes call me AI like the
1:03:16 song nice
1:03:18 um yeah that's Pi Pi the company is
1:03:23 inflection that's Voice number five
1:03:28 little little lilty Australian
1:03:32 thing um I think there's six voices
1:03:35 there but Pi so here's the thing about
1:03:37 Pi Pi was designed from the ground up to
1:03:40 be conversational chat GPT wasn't chat
1:03:43 gpt's conversational bot's pretty good
1:03:46 the new one that's coming the gp4 Omni
1:03:50 the new one that none of us have access
1:03:52 to you
1:03:54 yet that one's [ __ ] crazy cuz here's
1:03:59 why the way all of these tools work
1:04:02 right now that you can talk to there's
1:04:04 three models
1:04:06 involved there's the you talk and it
1:04:08 turns it into text model then it sends
1:04:11 the text to the large language model
1:04:14 which processes it and gives you a text
1:04:15 answer which sends it to a different
1:04:17 model that turns that text into speaking
1:04:20 so when when I talk to her it goes
1:04:23 through those three phases before it
1:04:24 comes back
1:04:26 the new chat GPT model is audio
1:04:32 native at the token level I it's hard to
1:04:35 explain but
1:04:36 basically not only does it understand
1:04:38 your words it understands your tone of
1:04:43 voice so it it like understands if
1:04:45 you're excited or breathing heavy or
1:04:48 upset or Screaming or
1:04:51 Whispering it can hear that as much as
1:04:53 it can hear the words and it can respond
1:04:56 in
1:04:59 kind and it also responds because it's
1:05:02 not having to to translate between three
1:05:04 different models in um chat GPT when
1:05:07 you're talking to GPT 4 is a 5.4 second
1:05:12 response time so I talk 5.4 seconds
1:05:16 later it responds the new model gp4 Omni
1:05:20 I talk a third of a second later it
1:05:24 responds human beings on average are
1:05:27 about a quarter of a
1:05:28 second so we're about a tenth of a
1:05:30 second off from this thing being like
1:05:34 human speed
1:05:38 response crazy so like sarcasm never
1:05:42 comes through as intended in text
1:05:44 exactly and the new the um actually we
1:05:48 could go look at the the new video that
1:05:50 they just
1:05:52 dropped that open AI just dropped
1:05:56 this is one that Brandon showed
1:05:59 earlier all right let's now that now
1:06:02 that we know we don't have access to it
1:06:03 let's go let's go let's go get techn
1:06:06 lust shall we hey um I'm writing a story
1:06:09 I'm going to have you practice a couple
1:06:11 voices with me for like you know
1:06:13 different characters so for the first
1:06:14 one I'm thinking we're going to have
1:06:16 like a majestic lion he's kind of like
1:06:17 an old King and his den um and I want
1:06:20 you to see something like who goes there
1:06:22 uh be the lion I really want you to like
1:06:24 embody what that might feel like
1:06:28 [Music]
1:06:29 who goes
1:06:31 there that for that's pretty good um now
1:06:34 I want to add a second character maybe a
1:06:37 mouse that's snuck into the cave uh the
1:06:40 mouse could say something like oh it's
1:06:42 no
1:06:43 one oh it's it's no one how that for a
1:06:47 little that's not bad can you make it a
1:06:49 little squeakier more like tiny more
1:06:51 like Mouse
1:06:52 like it's S one how's that that's pretty
1:06:55 good okay uh let's toss in an owl uh
1:06:58 make the owl sound like wise a little
1:07:00 bit stoic um and the owl could kind of
1:07:03 be like an adviser to a lion or
1:07:06 something G enter the king's Den okay
1:07:11 yeah that's pretty good um now let's
1:07:13 think about what the villain might be I
1:07:15 don't know so this thing's [ __ ] doing
1:07:17 voice
1:07:18 acting this is unbelievable what animal
1:07:21 would work best but let's start with
1:07:23 like some kind of
1:07:24 laughter [ __ ]
1:07:27 Kevin mallister
1:07:29 moment not Drew this is um this is just
1:07:33 another open AI video tease about uh gp4
1:07:40 omnis when they Dro their real voice
1:07:42 model it's going to be able to do this
1:07:45 [ __ ] too I'm having a beer at Aloha beer
1:07:48 in kako Hawaii watching the show awesome
1:07:51 against the norm enjoy that
1:07:54 beer no one in the world will be lonely
1:07:56 again after this thanks to AI which can
1:07:58 do this I it's I know it's crazy hey
1:08:01 Kyle what's Frank going to sound like
1:08:05 now oh man too squeaky more like deep
1:08:10 and kind of manic I guess you think you
1:08:12 can do
1:08:15 that okay yeah that's a little that's a
1:08:17 little creepy um what animal do you
1:08:20 think would work best uh for this
1:08:23 character for a villain was that kind of
1:08:26 laugh maybe a slithery snake or a
1:08:29 cunning Fox all right see Chris just
1:08:32 said sag has entered the chat and would
1:08:34 like to speak to the manager exactly
1:08:37 well this is what they were talking
1:08:39 about you know who thought that it would
1:08:41 be within the same year that they got
1:08:43 their contract done that that this [ __ ]
1:08:44 was coming say something the fo would
1:08:46 say I guess Earl King your Reign Ends
1:08:53 Tonight that's pretty good how about you
1:08:55 see that with the laughter at the end
1:08:56 let's see what that feels
1:08:59 like oh King your rain Ends Tonight
1:09:03 that's good thanks great here you go so
1:09:08 you know all those cool bedtime stories
1:09:10 we wrote for our kids and grandkids over
1:09:12 the past year and then we and we did all
1:09:15 the pictures well now you you're going
1:09:17 to be able to say now act it
1:09:20 out and then
1:09:23 within probably 6 months
1:09:26 might be sooner than that but probably 6
1:09:29 months like by the end of the year or
1:09:31 the beginning of next year not only will
1:09:33 will you be able to hear it but you'll
1:09:35 be able to see the characters in real
1:09:37 time so you could say make these
1:09:40 characters let me approve the
1:09:43 images and then I want you to tell the
1:09:48 story and don't let my kid interrupt you
1:09:51 for the first three pages but after the
1:09:54 first three pages
1:09:56 is they can interrupt you and they can
1:09:59 ask you questions about the story and I
1:10:00 want you just to continue the story
1:10:03 based on their
1:10:06 questions with all the
1:10:09 [Laughter]
1:10:12 characters I
1:10:14 mean not for
1:10:20 nothing AI won't be janky by Year's End
1:10:23 yeah that that's pretty much where we're
1:10:25 headed Drew is I I think there's still
1:10:28 going to
1:10:33 be maybe not there there's something
1:10:37 about so here's an interesting
1:10:42 tidbit
1:10:44 Sky the the voice in chat GPT that
1:10:48 Scarlet Johansson was like hey that's my
1:10:51 likeness you stole
1:10:53 me she doesn't talk like that talks like
1:10:56 this hey that's my likeness you stole me
1:10:59 totally different
1:11:02 um
1:11:05 she that voice
1:11:08 Sky had been out for eight
1:11:13 months and if you listen to The Voice
1:11:16 Sky I got it back for I got it back for
1:11:18 like three days for some reason like it
1:11:20 showed back up in my list and I listened
1:11:22 to it it didn't sound like Scarlet
1:11:24 Johansson it didn't even really sound
1:11:26 like a white woman like I don't like it
1:11:29 just it just didn't sound like her what
1:11:32 made it sound like her was the gp4
1:11:36 Omni um
1:11:40 Dynamics cuz she was flirty and then she
1:11:42 would talk like this and then she talk
1:11:43 like
1:11:44 this and it was it was that that
1:11:47 personality dynamic range that was in
1:11:49 the movie
1:11:51 her that's what made it sound like
1:11:53 Scarlett Johansson like it was closest
1:11:55 enough to her voice that when you add in
1:11:58 the the emotional dynamic
1:12:03 range it was pretty it was pretty creepy
1:12:06 close to
1:12:08 her but like if you just listen and
1:12:10 maybe one of the reasons they they
1:12:12 released that that demo right there is
1:12:16 they want it to be clear that your
1:12:19 little voice that you get with chat GPT
1:12:22 you're going to make it you're going to
1:12:22 be able to make it sound like any
1:12:24 [ __ ] thing you want it to sound like
1:12:26 you want it to sound like Scarlet
1:12:29 Johansson it's going to sound like
1:12:31 Scarlet
1:12:34 Johansson I think they're having to be
1:12:36 very careful about this technology
1:12:38 because you can imagine if you could
1:12:39 make it sound like anyone trivially
1:12:42 which you
1:12:45 can it's going to be easy to defraud
1:12:49 people cuz if it responds at the speed
1:12:52 of a human and it's got real dynamic
1:12:54 range and you can make it sound like
1:13:06 anyone do you have chat GPT 40 yet we
1:13:10 all have chat gp4 o Omni but none of us
1:13:15 have the good voice or the good
1:13:19 pictures but we if you if you're a paid
1:13:22 member you it's faster you get more of
1:13:25 it and you get fancier charts and graphs
1:13:28 for the data analysis
1:13:31 piece you have actor wavy hair today
1:13:34 yeah I do I do kind of have hey how's it
1:13:37 going hey hey what's happening Sally how
1:13:40 you doing fantastic it's great to see
1:13:49 [Laughter]
1:13:52 you so when is that coming they said in
1:13:55 coming weeks and you know when they
1:13:57 first said in coming weeks coming weeks
1:14:01 ago like three weeks ago they're like
1:14:04 this cool voice is coming in coming
1:14:07 weeks and then Scarlett Johansson sent a
1:14:10 nasty gram and then Sam Alman said I
1:14:13 didn't really mean it was Scarlet
1:14:14 Johansson and then she said no but you
1:14:17 we had a conversation and you did say
1:14:19 that and then you called me two days
1:14:21 before but I didn't get a chance to
1:14:22 respond and then you just launched it
1:14:24 anyway you big poo po BL head and then
1:14:26 the lawyers probably got involved and
1:14:28 said uh Sam listen um we're going to
1:14:32 need to go on ahead and get some uh some
1:14:35 uh contingencies in place if you know
1:14:38 what I
1:14:39 mean so my prediction back then was that
1:14:43 that little scar Joe her fuffle cost us
1:14:47 a
1:14:49 month and here we are about a month into
1:14:53 it it should have been here in 3 weeks
1:14:55 weeks it
1:14:57 wasn't so I'm guessing it's going to be
1:14:59 another 3 weeks cuz I was guessing 3
1:15:02 weeks and then the scarjo thing added
1:15:04 four weeks so that's seven
1:15:07 weeks and we're at about three and a
1:15:09 half how about Sora when is that
1:15:12 launching all things
1:15:15 facts good name and I I assume that your
1:15:19 name is an indication of your
1:15:20 expectations of accuracy welcome to chat
1:15:23 TMZ um I have no idea when Sora is
1:15:26 coming out I would
1:15:28 imagine my guess on
1:15:38 Sora my guess on Sora is that it it
1:15:41 actually launches as a professional
1:15:44 product to the film industry
1:15:48 first um cuz it's expensive and
1:15:51 slow apparently making a minute of video
1:15:54 with Sora takes about an hour or
1:15:57 something like that and so that mean
1:15:59 that means it's not going to be cheap so
1:16:00 it's probably going to be 3 5 7 bucks
1:16:04 per 60-second clip so they're not going
1:16:07 to they're probably not going to launch
1:16:08 that to the public not for 20 bucks a
1:16:15 month
1:16:19 but their next models have to be
1:16:22 incredibly multimodal
1:16:25 so maybe there's like a sort of light
1:16:28 that us plees will get and then the the
1:16:30 fancy [ __ ] the film industry will get or
1:16:33 anyone who can spend five bucks a minute
1:16:36 doing good video will
1:16:37 get and then that'll be out
1:16:40 for 9 months and someone else will come
1:16:42 out with something better that's cheaper
1:16:45 I'm waiting for GPT 60 because I'm 60
1:16:48 super happy to be part of the janky the
1:16:51 janky the janky parade the janky
1:16:53 Community that's it
1:16:56 janky is as janky
1:16:59 does chances of adobe partnering with i
1:17:02 a open AI
1:17:05 um well open AI I mean
1:17:09 Adobe already
1:17:12 announced so when they did their
1:17:14 announcement about
1:17:17 um AI Tools in
1:17:20 Premiere they showed a preview of here's
1:17:23 what it might look like with third party
1:17:26 Integrations and they showed Pika Runway
1:17:30 ML and Sora inside Adobe
1:17:34 Premiere don't have any footage for this
1:17:37 section of the video you could just make
1:17:40 it
1:17:41 um now does that doesn't mean they cut a
1:17:44 deal with them that probably just has
1:17:46 means it's a plug-in
1:17:49 architecture um Apple just c a deal with
1:17:52 them Apple apparently signed a deal and
1:17:54 it looks like open AI is going to be the
1:17:56 the power underneath Siri 2.0 or
1:17:59 whatever I hope they name it something
1:18:04 different cuz Siri
1:18:10 sucks let's start a pool on it five $5
1:18:14 for a day and a month yeah that's about
1:18:16 right that seems right have you tried
1:18:19 open art. yeah open art. I used to
1:18:22 recommend that a lot that's the one
1:18:23 that's got the the stable diffusion
1:18:27 prompt book
1:18:32 right yeah prompt
1:18:40 book start creating now yeah I think
1:18:43 this is a site built on top of stable
1:18:48 diffusion
1:18:50 yeah yeah it's good it's good
1:18:53 resource and it's free
1:19:00 has free out painting yeah there's a
1:19:01 couple of them that have free out
1:19:03 painting and free upscaling and things
1:19:04 like that the problem is there's like
1:19:06 all these little tools are scattered all
1:19:08 over the place and and it's just like
1:19:11 it's so impossible to keep up right
1:19:13 now have you guys seen um descript um
1:19:17 stations here I'll show you two cool
1:19:20 things here's two cool things and I
1:19:21 gotta go two cool things in the uh
1:19:25 in the you don't have to use your brain
1:19:28 anymore category right so beginning of
1:19:32 2023 what did everyone tell you you got
1:19:34 to become a prompt engineer English is
1:19:37 the new programming language if you
1:19:39 don't learn prompt engineering you're
1:19:42 PR right all
1:19:45 them they're still selling courses you
1:19:48 can make money
1:19:49 with if you write the perfect prompt
1:19:51 you'll make money with let me teach you
1:19:54 how to R this perfect prompt I'll sell
1:19:56 my thousand prompts in a booklet for to
1:19:59 you for only
1:20:01 $49.95 you
1:20:06 make I told you this wasn't going to
1:20:08 last long let me show you two things the
1:20:11 real career I absolutely agree with that
1:20:14 you should know the concepts of prompt
1:20:16 engineering I sell prompts don't make a
1:20:17 lot of money yeah no I know listen it
1:20:20 again but so so here's the thing knowing
1:20:24 prompt is going to be better than not
1:20:26 knowing prompting but knowing prompting
1:20:28 as a requirement is going to go away
1:20:31 people are going to have a choice you're
1:20:32 going to have all sorts of tools out
1:20:34 there the deeper down the stack you want
1:20:37 to go like if you want to be a software
1:20:38 developer like you know I added a whole
1:20:40 Suite of AI tools into my company Story
1:20:43 vine I damn well better be good at
1:20:45 prompt engineering if I want to get the
1:20:47 the results to not suck right but the
1:20:51 tools are starting to roll out now that
1:20:53 that show us the vision of the future
1:20:55 that's coming so let me show show you
1:20:57 two of them right now one is from Deco
1:21:00 here so if you got a app. deco here de
1:21:04 c o wait dco h r e.
1:21:11 a app. deoh
1:21:16 here. oh they got some new editing tools
1:21:19 that's kind of
1:21:23 cool and then if you go to the this
1:21:25 explore
1:21:27 tab just all these little pictures go
1:21:30 blasting down there's a bear driving a
1:21:33 car let's go grab that all right so we
1:21:35 got a bear driving a
1:21:37 car I can now there's this little button
1:21:41 here that says create
1:21:44 station I got to log in dang
1:21:47 it so this is almost like
1:21:53 prompting and
1:21:57 create
1:22:01 station so I'm now using this image as a
1:22:07 seed for what's what they call a station
1:22:10 now the the metaphor that they use which
1:22:12 I finally get it almost got lady bits
1:22:14 close one
1:22:17 um this
1:22:20 is all original images coming one image
1:22:24 a second
1:22:25 just like a radio station it's just
1:22:27 pouring down so I can grab any one of
1:22:29 these if I like one of these like here's
1:22:31 a New York City bear like that that's
1:22:33 cute so let's turn that into a
1:22:38 station Zoo
1:22:41 station I have this on my fifth screen
1:22:43 at my workstation Chris Chris you're a
1:22:46 mad man five five screens well you
1:22:49 probably have six if it's just your
1:22:50 fifth
1:22:53 screen oh nice tiger I like
1:22:59 tiger o look at that bad
1:23:02 car I love so one of the phrases I say
1:23:06 on here all the time is embrace the Jank
1:23:09 that's one of the that is a perfect
1:23:11 image of the kind of images we're never
1:23:14 going to see again like a year a year
1:23:16 from
1:23:17 now this site is deoh here app. deoh
1:23:22 here. this jankiness we're never going
1:23:25 to see that again once once these things
1:23:27 sort of go to their next level or two in
1:23:30 quality we're going to look back at
1:23:32 images made this year and go hey
1:23:34 remember when it would make cars with
1:23:35 the wheels all sideways and
1:23:40 [ __ ] only have one
1:23:47 headlight that's hilarious all right
1:23:50 here so let me show you some others I'll
1:23:52 go show you a good station
1:24:00 uh this is a station I
1:24:03 did well I didn't do it I found an image
1:24:06 that I
1:24:07 liked and then just kept iterating
1:24:10 making stations out of the ones I like
1:24:11 better it's it's actually a lot like
1:24:13 Evolution which is interesting this is
1:24:15 the first station I made and it's funny
1:24:18 that it's kind of like
1:24:21 Evolution
1:24:23 steampunk Steam Punk Charles
1:24:27 Darwin and what's cool about this here
1:24:30 watch I'm going to copy
1:24:32 this URL I'm going to go to the AI salon
1:24:35 so if you're in the AI salon right now
1:24:39 go
1:24:40 to the bottom to the AI
1:24:44 Irregulars and I'm just going to paste
1:24:46 this in into the share cool
1:24:53 things post
1:24:56 and so now you can go you can go join
1:24:59 this station with
1:25:00 me and we're we we will actually see
1:25:03 this the exact same
1:25:06 images what's your budget for
1:25:08 subscriptions a month just under 200
1:25:09 bucks right now but I have it's that's
1:25:12 through work because it's it's for R&B
1:25:14 at
1:25:18 work if if I if that weren't my budget
1:25:22 what I would probably spend
1:25:27 is somewhere between 60 and
1:25:30 90 three or four
1:25:32 things call creation at its best wow
1:25:35 entirely new frequency yeah so so that's
1:25:38 that's the thing hair growth geek this
1:25:42 is am I thinking about prompting no this
1:25:45 is image generation as
1:25:48 entertainment imagine this being in a
1:25:50 doctor's office well not this one cuz
1:25:52 this one's creepy as [ __ ] but imagine
1:25:53 you know nice images of the doctor's
1:25:55 office and maybe there's even a QR code
1:25:57 next to the TV and if you zap that QR
1:26:00 code you join that same
1:26:02 station wouldn't that be slit
1:26:04 co-creation yeah and then and then
1:26:06 you're curating right so now I just go
1:26:08 oh I like that image now I can save that
1:26:11 image I can upscale that image I can
1:26:13 even turn that image into a video so I'm
1:26:16 going to click to generate video from
1:26:18 that we'll do a motion of six and we'll
1:26:21 say
1:26:22 generate boom so if I go to my
1:26:27 library here's the up there's the saved
1:26:30 version of that
1:26:33 image I could now take this piece take
1:26:37 it in let's do it let me grab
1:26:40 this copy image let's go to chat
1:26:46 ja where are you chat
1:26:48 [ __ ] go to chat jpat paste that image in
1:26:53 say describe
1:26:55 cribe this in as much detail as
1:27:05 possible
1:27:22 and I'm just going to cop all
1:27:28 this now I'm going to go
1:27:34 to uh mid
1:27:40 Journey see if it'll take that whole
1:27:42 prompt it
1:27:45 did there you go I'm going to make
1:27:50 this vertical like it was we'll do it
1:27:53 nice and tall like it was
1:27:56 and we'll up the weirdness
1:28:00 Factor drop styl stylization and variety
1:28:03 down and hit return so
1:28:09 now I went
1:28:13 from this crazy
1:28:22 ass uh uh uh
1:28:33 station I don't know how to get back to
1:28:35 the station hang on I'll get there
1:28:38 people I'm not that
1:28:40 clueless so I went from this crazy
1:28:44 station over to chat GPT then over to
1:28:47 Mid
1:28:48 journey and now here's mid Journey's
1:28:52 interpretation of what it s like that's
1:28:55 [ __ ]
1:28:57 Bonkers look at
1:29:01 that that's [ __ ] genius so I'm going
1:29:04 to go very strong this one I'm going to
1:29:06 go very uh oh
1:29:08 crap this one I'm going to go very
1:29:11 strong this one I'm going to go very
1:29:14 strong and so what I'm doing here if you
1:29:16 haven't been in mid Journey you've got
1:29:18 you can you can create variations of
1:29:20 this subtle or strong then you can
1:29:23 upscale them remix them p them zoom out
1:29:25 zoom in all sorts of crazy ass
1:29:39 [ __ ] I haven't written a
1:29:41 prompt I haven't written a prompt and
1:29:44 you like yeah sure Kyle but that's just
1:29:48 pictures just wait till you see what
1:29:50 I'll show you
1:29:52 next these are crazy
1:30:00 good next time someone tells you a I
1:30:03 can't be
1:30:05 creative I've been thinking a lot about
1:30:07 this Kyle you can organize images in mid
1:30:09 Journey Alpha I use that a
1:30:11 lot how do you do
1:30:15 that they have rooms I know they have
1:30:23 rooms oh look you can drag and drop them
1:30:25 now that's pretty
1:30:28 slick oh that's a good
1:30:31 one that one's super creepy so let me
1:30:33 upscale this one
1:30:36 creative isn't this
1:30:41 nuts left side you can set up folders oh
1:30:44 cool
1:30:45 okay rate images explore archive is it
1:30:50 archive
1:30:52 no create
1:31:01 manage
1:31:07 uploads I don't see folders but whatever
1:31:10 I'll figure it
1:31:12 out maybe an explore no
1:31:33 that was [ __ ] creepy upscale creative
1:31:39 bang 94%
1:31:42 complete 100% complete
1:31:44 boom let's download this bad boy or bad
1:31:48 girl sad girl more like
1:31:52 it dang dang dang dang
1:32:02 ding
1:32:03 ding ding ding ding
1:32:06 ding look at
1:32:11 that is anyone else still like Gob
1:32:15 smacked on a regular
1:32:17 basis the world we're living in
1:32:29 that you can go from nothing to that and
1:32:32 whatever that was every damn day I know
1:32:34 right it's clear all these devs are
1:32:38 sitting by themselves for in rooms for
1:32:41 long periods of
1:32:43 [Laughter]
1:32:44 time Rachel Sparkles uh yeah Gob smack
1:32:48 daily every time I know it's Bonkers
1:32:51 let's go look at the movie we made
1:33:00 oh that's so
1:33:06 cool come
1:33:20 on from nothing
1:33:26 and if you jump over to the AI salon and
1:33:28 click on that thing you can just jump
1:33:30 right into that same station and just
1:33:32 generate your own
1:33:35 [ __ ] so so the role we step into is a
1:33:38 role of curator more than
1:33:42 Creator and
1:33:45 and there's a part of my ego that's like
1:33:48 [ __ ] that [ __ ] man it's about creating
1:33:50 you should create from your own creative
1:33:53 stuff
1:33:54 and there's another part of me that's
1:33:56 like these images make me really [ __ ]
1:33:59 happy and if I can make an
1:34:04 image like
1:34:08 that in a few minutes that makes me
1:34:11 really happy why
1:34:15 not the [ __ ] difference does it make AI
1:34:18 generalist will be a real thing yeah
1:34:21 here's the album cover for weird Mary
1:34:23 from Cedar
1:34:25 Hill um let me show you one other thing
1:34:28 before we get on out of
1:34:33 here if you are a perplexity plus
1:34:38 member so see this Mrs Fields legendary
1:34:42 cookie recipe
1:34:44 article by
1:34:47 me that's pretty cool all right
1:34:50 great notice what it says here in the by
1:34:52 line
1:34:56 says curated by Kyle Shannon not created
1:35:00 by Kyle Shannon not written by Kyle
1:35:01 Shannon curated by Kyle Shannon so this
1:35:04 is a new feature in perplexity called
1:35:06 pages so if I go to the library and I go
1:35:09 to Pages it looks kind of like a bunch
1:35:12 of medium articles well now it doesn't
1:35:15 look like [ __ ] cuz nothing's
1:35:17 loading come on perplexity are you
1:35:20 crapping the bed again what up with that
1:35:24 H we don't play that all right there we
1:35:26 go so there's our little articles my
1:35:28 first one I did was on uh Jackson
1:35:32 Pollock meet Jackson
1:35:35 Pollock right the evolution of the drip
1:35:39 technique influence on Modern Art
1:35:43 movements automatism in Pollock's
1:35:47 work materials and tools used impact on
1:35:50 abstract expressionism nice article
1:35:55 watch so I go over here to library and I
1:35:58 say plus and I create one of these
1:36:00 things
1:36:01 page I'm going to
1:36:03 say
1:36:06 um
1:36:09 history
1:36:11 of
1:36:17 coffee that's
1:36:21 it that's my input
1:36:25 so what's happening
1:36:27 now is perplexity if you haven't used
1:36:29 perplexity perplexity lives somewhere
1:36:31 between a large language model and a
1:36:33 Google
1:36:34 search so what it's doing right now is
1:36:37 it rewrote my title wrote a little
1:36:40 opening paragraph and then created
1:36:42 little
1:36:43 sections the role of Sufi monasteries
1:36:46 and coffey's early spread coffee's
1:36:48 Journey from Yemen to
1:36:50 Europe and then the impact of coffee
1:36:52 houses on European societ
1:36:55 and you'll notice each one of these like
1:36:56 this says it's got five sources and
1:36:58 within this little
1:37:00 paragraph about yemon there's all these
1:37:03 citations that are specific
1:37:06 articles that were researched to write
1:37:08 this this little
1:37:13 post and then it you know it keeps going
1:37:15 it's writing it are we done yeah so
1:37:17 we're done now so I can go up there
1:37:19 that's that's tea that's not coffee so
1:37:21 we're going to change that so I can go
1:37:23 to the upper right hand corner to say
1:37:25 change here's a bunch of other things
1:37:29 history of coffee there that's good
1:37:31 there you go she your coffee perfect I
1:37:35 can drag that to reposition it it's
1:37:36 perfect though and then for each one of
1:37:39 these little sections I can add media so
1:37:41 it's finding media okay that looks good
1:37:43 that looks like Sufi Monastery
1:37:46 [ __ ] um I can go edit this paragraph and
1:37:50 say um the journey from Europe to Yemen
1:37:53 let's make that bulleted list to break
1:37:56 it up
1:37:57 visually and it's going to rewrite that
1:38:00 section with a little intro paragraph
1:38:03 and then a bulleted
1:38:06 list and then impact on European
1:38:10 Society let's let it finish writing that
1:38:13 thing great I'm going add media to this
1:38:18 one yeah that looks decently European
1:38:20 but let's see if we can get something
1:38:22 better let's see
1:38:25 that one looks good nice like
1:38:28 that uh this last section should
1:38:33 be let's say
1:38:37 um
1:38:39 come
1:38:41 pairing World
1:38:47 coffees and let's see I'm going to make
1:38:50 it a table
1:39:02 and so now it's going to make a little
1:39:03 table comparing all the
1:39:11 coffees so this is the magazine writing
1:39:16 equivalent of Deco here
1:39:18 stations can you affiliate your own
1:39:20 links in there I don't know I haven't
1:39:22 dug super deep into to this it it oddly
1:39:25 doesn't seem like you can edit wait
1:39:28 maybe you can can you
1:39:32 edit custom
1:39:41 instructions write more write
1:39:45 less sources
1:39:50 more I don't know I don't think you can
1:39:53 edit what it WR wrote custom
1:39:56 instructions wait coffee is enjoyed in
1:39:58 various forms here's a brief
1:40:01 comparison yeah I don't I don't quite
1:40:03 know how to do it but anyway
1:40:05 let's all right there's there's so
1:40:07 anyway here's our thing so now I can
1:40:09 publish this bang it's
1:40:13 published link copied go to
1:40:17 LinkedIn
1:40:20 go paste
1:40:24 loading
1:40:28 preview history of coffee why do I not
1:40:31 have an image
1:40:32 there let me post it see if it pulls it
1:40:35 in
1:40:38 nope delete post delete delete delete
1:40:43 come on give me a real preview you big
1:40:46 nin nin all right it's not going to do
1:40:49 it tonight for whatever reason probably
1:40:51 because their servers were done all day
1:40:52 today anyway a't that
1:40:55 crazy [ __ ] Bonkers it's Bonkers
1:40:58 people Bonkers history of coffee boom
1:41:02 you saw edit at the bottom yeah but edit
1:41:04 doesn't let you edit it what edit
1:41:07 does so if I go into one of these
1:41:09 sections and say edit wait
1:41:15 where oh because it's published edit
1:41:18 page so if I say
1:41:22 edit t
1:41:26 text can I edit
1:41:29 it
1:41:32 no I can Trash
1:41:39 something concise details anyway so it's
1:41:43 you know it's a new product so it it
1:41:46 ain't going to be perfect but holy
1:41:50 [ __ ] this is effectively like a res
1:41:53 research preview or research
1:42:02 overview
1:42:06 right it's cuckoo I tell you it's cuckoo
1:42:09 I tell you all right I got to get out of
1:42:12 here so so do me a favor if you want to
1:42:14 support this channel if you want to
1:42:16 support my
1:42:18 insanity good on you subscribe to my
1:42:22 Channel or follow it
1:42:24 subscribe to the lives my goal's 50 I'm
1:42:26 at like 29 someone subscribed tonight so
1:42:28 thank
1:42:29 you
1:42:31 um keep showing up
1:42:33 here the the the folks in here that seem
1:42:36 like they know what's going on and they
1:42:38 like seem like they have a clue about
1:42:39 this [ __ ] you know
1:42:42 why because they keep showing up here
1:42:45 the whole perp Lord digital Gods thank
1:42:47 you so much very much appreciate the
1:42:50 support the whole purpose of this
1:42:52 channel is is to keep all of us
1:42:54 including myself in the conversation
1:42:58 this [ __ ] is moving so fast the
1:43:00 reason
1:43:04 that we made the AI salons tagline play
1:43:09 first is that if you can make learning
1:43:13 AI a joyful experience like have fun
1:43:16 with
1:43:19 it you'll be able to learn enough about
1:43:21 this stuff to actually do some cool
1:43:23 things
1:43:25 it's moving so fast that if you try to
1:43:26 get rigid with it and learn everything
1:43:28 it's going to drive you [ __ ] it's
1:43:30 it's going to drive you insane like
1:43:35 literally take it for me I
1:43:38 know so just
1:43:40 play and then when you get some level of
1:43:43 Mastery with some tool that you actually
1:43:46 enjoy working on move into the next
1:43:49 phase of mindfully
1:43:51 creating like come up with an idea solve
1:43:54 a problem create an art
1:43:57 project do something for the
1:44:02 family and then as you're doing
1:44:05 that Learn out Loud lead other people by
1:44:09 saying hey I was playing around with
1:44:12 this AI stuff and I started doing this
1:44:14 project and the project is really good
1:44:16 and it's look at this and then people go
