>> [laughter] >> Hey, if you're on LinkedIn or YouTube or X, you've just seen a sign without me being there cuz I was not on stage. Now
2:39
I'm on stage. Welcome. Welcome to the AI Learning Lab pre-show. If you're on TikTok, you didn't notice anything. >> [laughter]
2:47
>> But welcome, welcome, welcome. We'll be going live in the AI Salon in about 20 minutes. The link to the AI Salon live
2:54
stream is in the description below the video or if you're on X or TikTok, it's up in my profile. Go to my profile.
3:01
That'll link you over to the AI Salon. We had a beautiful day today. We had our new member mixer for the AI
3:07
Salon so we had a bunch of new people, some some people who've been around for a while but haven't really stepped
3:12
forward and said hello, joined and stepped forward and said hello. It was really beautiful. And and then we had our kickoff meeting for
3:21
the AI Salon Ambassadors program. Play some Zeppelin, please. I wish. >> [music]
3:37
[music] >> Good news is the US soccer team is up one mill against Bosnia-Herzegovina. They just started the second half so that's happening.
3:51
>> [music] >> So Adams, even a Kyle setting up Hermes tonight. I hear it's significantly better than open claw. I have heard that, too.
4:03
Um I assume open claw's gotten better. I haven't touched open claw in a while. I've been playing with Codex.
4:09
Um which is in the same hood. I would love to understand from someone the difference between those two, Codex and open claw and Hermes. Um
4:21
I think with these agentic platforms, they are complicated enough that using multiple of them at the same time is
4:28
just a lot. Is this you or your digital self? Very good. I like it. Hey Dr. J, what's happening? Um so tonight we're
4:35
going to be playing with uh Gemini Omni. Uh I'm going to be playing with Claude Fable. I'm going to be playing with
4:41
Claude Sonnet 5. Uh I'm going to be talking about what I think about Fable and what they what Anthropic did to themselves and
4:53
ostensibly did to um OpenAI. Uh I don't think it's good. >> [laughter] >> And uh we will we will see. We will see what happens. >> [music]
5:13
[music] [music]
5:29
>> Oh. Damn it. Oh. Um >> [music] >> Yeah, so so this is the AI learning lab pre-show. We're going live shortly. Can you
5:42
explain what Claude means about using Fable tokens, etc., Please, yes, I will. I will I will explain that. Um
5:54
So, basically, here's the deal. And and I'll talk about this more tonight in the in the AI learning lab. Um Claude right now
6:04
or uh yeah, Claude. I mean, if you go to Claude.ai, you have access to this model called Fable if you've got a 20 $20 a
6:12
month or higher subscription. That lasts until July 7th. And then, you have to pay for it. Like on a per token basis. And the
6:24
tokens aren't cheap. They're like 50 bucks per million tokens or 50? I don't know. Some ridiculous amount of money. Pretty expensive. Um
6:36
What I think that effectively means is that big shops that are doing big development projects will likely use it. Um
6:45
Mere mortals, unless you've got a very specific use case where you really need that kind of iron, won't. Um
6:54
And I think adoption amongst Fortune 500 companies is actually going to be um very limited because of what Anthropic did. >> [music]
7:06
>> So, I'm going to talk about that. We're going to play with it. We're going to use it. I'm going to see if I can do something
7:13
that pushes its boundaries even a little, which I doubt I'll be able to. Tokens is like bandwidth for sale in
7:20
1997. It's it's it's very it's very close to that. Here's Here's the difference, though. I'm not willing to
7:26
pay Anthropic by the token. Nor am I. Um Yeah, I write books. I don't need the smartest thing yet. Yeah, it looks like
7:35
the Sonnet 5's going to be really good. I think OpenAI 5.6 going to be really good. Um and 5.6, I think comes out tomorrow.
7:44
Um, although Open AI is off this week, apparently they're still going to launch the 5.6 mile models tomorrow. What did you use to build
7:55
AI Salon? Um, if you're talking about the salon.ai, the the sort of public marketing website, that was built in I think it was built
8:07
in Word WordPress by a developer. Um, we didn't hire them. Someone else hired them. Um, we're probably at some point going to just um
8:19
rebuild it ourselves. I think we'll probably just vibe code it. The community website, so if you go to community.thesalon.ai,
8:27
that's built on top of Mighty Networks. So, the community is on Mighty Networks. Um, this is the AI Learning Lab pre-show.
8:35
So, the show itself goes live at 7:30 Mountain Time, so that's in about 13 minutes. If you're on YouTube or
8:42
LinkedIn, in the description of this video is the link to the AI Salon. If you're on X or uh TikTok, it's in my
8:49
profile. The link over there is good. You can ask all these questions and more. Tonight's Wednesday night, so we will be uh
8:57
we'll be playing playing with toys playing with there's new toys to play with. So, I think the uh the Omni flash model is pretty exciting.
9:07
If you go to gemini.google and tell it to make a video, it'll that's the model that it's using. It's pretty pretty damn good. It's fast.
9:18
It's cheap. I think. I don't know how long it stays cheap, but it's cheaper than it was. We'll be playing with Fable. We'll be
9:28
playing with Sonnet. Um, yeah, we're at a really fascinating time because the ability to demonstrate
9:45
how strong a model is, like Fable, it is it is probably um much more apparent if you're using it for agentic planning.
10:02
Big, complicated, like go analyze this whole code base, find any find any vulnerabilities in it, come up
10:12
with new ideas to fix it, like major planning things. That's where it comes to life. That's not super demoable in in in a show like this. Um
10:23
so I'm going to do my best to to show what it is. Here's the thing that the comment before about tokens right now is
10:30
like bandwidth in 1997 where, you know, if if you remember those days, you know, everyone's like, "Oh, I got a 14.4
10:36
modem." And then at some point one of your friends got a 56K modem. You're like, "Ooh, fancy." And then, you know,
10:43
there was the modem battles and you did it. The difference with tokens now is that we've got this token amplifier called an
10:53
agentic platform. So, if you just go to ChatGPT as a human and you prompt it, go write me a screenplay, go write me a chapter, go
11:02
write me a business plan. And then it spits that back at you, the that interaction is constrained by uh your attention span and your ability
11:14
to do more than one thing at once, right? You could technically open 10 tabs in ChatGPT and go start a bunch of
11:23
prompts and then just cycle through them and you'd use more tokens. But when you use something like Codex or
11:30
something like Claude Code or Cloud Co-work or Perplexity Computer, you can just give it a goal and say, "Go
11:38
figure that out." And it will just go start prompting and prompting and prompting and prompting and spinning up
11:43
sub-agents and those sub-agents are prompting in parallel. And so, you can go from, you know, if if your capacity is is 1x,
11:53
some number of tokens, that agentic platform can do 10, 20, 50 times the amount of token use that that you would do.
12:03
So, that's that's kind of the difference is we have this multiplier in there and and work is shifting from these individual
12:11
tools that humans use to these suite of this these ecosystems of tools that agents can use. Um Flashlighter Flash.
12:23
I think it's Flash. I think it's Flash. I think it's just Flash. Hang on. For Gemini Ultra, um Gemini .google.com It's just Flash.
12:39
Create video. Yeah, I think it's just Flash. Um anyway, in 9 minutes we'll be going
12:55
live over in the AI Salon. The the link to that is in the description of this video. It's in my profile if you're on TikTok or X.
13:05
Um ask about the difference between them. Let's see. Da da da. Mary Mary's in the house. Hello. Silver Fox is in the house.
13:13
Uh ba da ba da ba da ba ba I see Digital Gods. >> [music]
13:28
[music] [music]
13:43
>> Um if if you see me looking off to the side, I'm I'm I'm rooting for America. Come on, America. We're up what? One nothing. One nil.
13:53
As they say in the in the football league. >> [music]
14:12
>> Kitch Kitchen is in the house. What's happening, Greg? I hope you're doing well. Good to see you. Um we had a
14:17
really good day today. We had a new member mixer for the AI Salon. We kicked off the AI Salon Ambassador program. Uh
14:24
if that's something you you'd be interested in, if you're a member and would like to represent the AI Salon, we
14:29
just kicked off our first cohort today. So, that's pretty exciting. It was a good meeting. Had some really good meetings today.
14:36
Um I'll be talking about Fable tonight. I'll be talking about Gemini Ultra. I'll be talking about Sonnet 5. I'll be
14:43
talking about the implications of what Anthropic has done to the AI industry in America tonight. Needless to say, I am not a fan of what
14:56
they've done. Um I wish I understood it. I wish I understood the depths a bit more than I do.
15:11
But, it's possible that there's not much deeper than what's going on. It seems I don't know. Using international football terms
15:24
seems like an own goal. And Trump has done an own goal for the United States. >> [music]
15:40
[music] [music] >> You know, I heard a thing I heard a thing that that actually made sense. Um was talking about okay, so Fable has
15:54
been made not available because hackers might use it to do bad things. And then so they gave it to 100 companies for a bit.
16:05
What's happening Andy? Um and what they didn't do or what they did by doing that was they didn't allow any of the white hat hackers
16:17
the anti-hackers to have access to the powerful model to develop counter attacks to whatever attacks might be coming. So uh
16:27
it there's just so much of it that makes no sense to me. So we're going to be talking about that. We're going to be playing with it.
16:32
We'll be making some vidjas. We're going to make some vidjas tonight. Uh yeah, all that sort of stuff. So, how
16:40
long is that? That is 5 minutes away. So in 5 minutes at 7:30 Mountain Time, we're going to be going to the AI Salon.
16:47
We'll be hanging out in there. The live stream starts then. This is the pre-show. So welcome. Um if you're on LinkedIn or YouTube down
16:55
here in the description of this video is the hyperlink to the AI Salon. You just click on that link. Click. It'll take
17:03
you over there. Spin up that tab. Wait. Oh, US looked like they were making a charge. Uh if you're on X or TikTok in
17:10
my profile is that same hyperlink. I couldn't put it in the description because platforms. Um these platforms all treat you differently.
17:20
As if they're different. Something I talk about a lot. As as an old as an old Gen Xer who used to build websites when social media came out,
17:30
my my attitude with so all social media sites was, well, they're just like tiny websites. So, I never thought of social media
17:38
sites as being different, and I've been educated on that. Thanks to Andy largely, who understands these things. That they actually have
17:45
different personalities, and people treat them differently. I didn't. I'm just an ignorant old man. Um,
17:53
they had a mission, and that mission was accomplished. Yes, I Anthropic I assume you're talking about. They did. Yes. All right, Anita.
18:03
Ah, I always miss your lives. We're here. We're here. So, Monday, Wednesday, Friday at 7:30 Mountain Time, we go live
18:09
inside the AI Salon. Um, the pre-show happens at 7:10 to 7:30 those same nights, Monday through Friday. This
18:18
Friday, I'm actually taking off. I'm proactively taking off. I rarely do that. Uh, I'm proactively taking off
18:25
Friday night, but I am going to do office hours. All right? So, office hours is at 11:00 a.m. Mountain Time
18:33
um, on Fridays, and then we use usually a Friday night date night, but I'm going to take off and just do holiday weekend stuff. All right?
18:43
Um, okay, 3 minutes over in the AI Salon. So, down in the in the description, click on the hyperlink, go
18:50
to my profile on X or TikTok, click on the hyperlink. >> [music] [music] >> Talk about the uh other things we'll
19:04
talk about tonight. Talk about the new member mixer. We're going to talk about the the AI Salon Ambassador kickoff we had
19:11
today, which is really fun. And yeah, it was a really good day. It's a good day. Fable's back for 7 days we get to play with it, 6 days.
19:23
>> [laughter] >> And so we'll play with that tonight. And then I I don't know what's the date. So it's 3rd, 4th, 5th.
19:31
So Monday's the 6th, Tuesday the 7th. So Monday we'll probably play with Fable again, maybe. I don't know.
19:38
We'll see we'll see how it is tonight. We'll see if we can get it to do anything. Cuz one of the ideas I have, I think it might not do. Um
19:55
>> [music] >> Okay, 2 minutes. I'm going to go get ready. I'm going to take off the guitar. Um I'm going to head over to the AI Salon,
20:07
so join me over there. Um you can go to community.thesalon.ai right there. You can click on the link
20:14
in the description if you're on LinkedIn or YouTube. And if you're on TikTok or X, go to my profile, click on the link
20:20
there. I will see you there in 2 minutes. Peace out. Happy Wednesday.
