31. 5:48get started here so generally what we do here if you're new here um I'm a little bit about my background I'm an entrepreneur of
32. 5:57I've started enough companies that I'm now officially not hireable anywhere and my current gig is oh yeah this like
33. 6:06all story mine tonight right uh I'm the founder and CEO of a company called storyvine I even have a hat here look look see this is solid um
34. 6:22so so um so that's my day job I've been uh kind of deep diving into this generative AI stuff for about oh I don't know what
35. 6:33two years now and and ever since chat GPT uh I've lost my [ __ ] mind so this channel I go live every night
36. 6:42here I'll answer any questions you have um this channel is really about the inflection point that started on
37. 6:50November 30th 2022 so the launch of chat gbt prior to that point machine learning and AI was really the the domain of you
38. 6:59know data scientists and mathematicians and researchers and engineers and after that point it's for the rest of us to figure out
39. 7:08like what are we going to do with this stuff what are we going to do with these tools now that these tools are in our
40. 7:12hands November 1st marks um General availability of Chachi BT inside office 365. so you're gonna have
41. 7:21chat EBT within word and PowerPoint and Excel um it's already in Windows 11. it's already in GitHub co-pilot it's already
42. 7:30in all the Google uh things not gpt4 there there's his Bard but all the Google office docs have access to this
43. 7:37thing called Duet which is kind of a shitty version of it but it's going to get better quick um chat GPT has gone multimodal where it
44. 7:46can see images now it can see I saw a thing today a guy took a screenshot of a computer interface and
45. 7:54asked chat GPT to analyze the components of the computer interface and write the code for the different components and it
46. 8:02did it and it was good it's like wow so we have no idea zero idea what it means to have a tool like chat GPT when it can
47. 8:15now speak and listen and see and draw and make words and you know within some short amount of time it'll be able to do music and video
48. 8:26too and you know once once we have all of the all of the media um you know all bets are off what what do we do with that I don't know um
49. 8:38I'm a gen xer look I have an AARP card I uh that just came today um I'm a little bitter chat GPT hasn't given me access to the
50. 8:52new toys yet I flip and advertise their their silly little company every night for like four months and they don't give
51. 8:59me access to the new toys really chat gbt really really I I made a button for you nothing so anyway um if you have questions pop them in the
52. 9:14comments below I'll do my best to answer them I'll go through some of these uh some of the if you want to get started

61. 10:31I got in it was like 83 000 and I think mine took five days so yeah yeah it took it took a while I forgot about it and
62. 10:39then I got an email today this morning that said here's your Mandarin um yeah I'm gonna pay up for that as
63. 10:45well because I got I got to do it for my company because uh this is this is too important technology not to not to have
64. 10:53not not to be building stuff on um so anyway yeah exactly learning how important using the right words for
65. 11:02prompts is yeah it's you know it's it's using the right words that you have having being experimental and having a good sense of
66. 11:15language logic is definitely an advantage um but one of the things that you can either do also do um uh Harrow Herod Herod is is one of
67. 11:29the Irregulars here um and and he came on the other night and was talking about the fact the other thing that you can do is you can have
68. 11:36chat GPT help you write prompts for itself so if you're getting stuck on the if you're you know if you're getting
69. 11:43twisted up on the on the language stuff and I don't really know how to ask this and what to do ask Chachi PT how how
70. 11:51what's the best prompt that you could give it to get a certain um result and let it write the prompt or or you
71. 12:00write a prompt and say instead of answering this prompt I want you to critique it and tell me how you would
72. 12:05improve it to get a stronger answer or a more clear answer or whatever that is let it write it let it write it all right
73. 12:15this one feels vastly more complex than Anglo-Saxon European languages impressive I know well that's so so that's the thing about
74. 12:25these the Transformer models and the way all of this technology works it's [ __ ] magic it's not it's it's all mathematics
75. 12:35um but the result right the Arthur C Clarke quote any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from Magic
76. 12:45so they train these models on the different languages and whether it's word languages or spoken languages and
77. 12:57you know or or uh you know voice synthesis right or you know music or images and then when you put in your prompt and
78. 13:06they marry that large language model to that other whether it's a diffusion model or or you know the audio stuff and it just I don't know
79. 13:16it mythically pulls the [ __ ] out of The Ether mathematically it's it's it's it's it's absolutely incredible
80. 13:24you know it's it's not I think from a machine learning point of view I don't think I I'm curious if pay you're in here
81. 13:32is is is is training a large line or not a large language model is is training a machine learning model
82. 13:40if we're talking about audio you know synthesis stuff here is it any harder to train it on Mandarin Chinese than it is
83. 13:48on Italian or it is on English I assume it's the same thing it's more complicated for us because we have these tiny [ __ ] filet mignons in

89. 14:50so like I feel like the value of what I'm contributing to the world of machine learning and prompt engineering is low
90. 14:59value enough that you know open AI ain't ain't siphoning my ideas off you know if that's even a concern right so I you know
91. 15:10this is this is all like everything we're doing these days is temporary anyway right all the because like like
92. 15:16as these new models change it's it's gonna get um you know the the thing that that we thought was the perfect prompt three
93. 15:26weeks ago is not is going to be useless now because there's it's just a completely different thing I keep
94. 15:32checking my settings here to see if I get any extra I got nothing I got no I got no brows with Bing I got no image upload
95. 15:43nothing my my uh open AI Chachi PT app doesn't have the voice thing in it I got nothing people nothing anybody here have it anybody here got
96. 15:54the the extra good and chewy new stuff how would we know if we have dally three access I don't know policy I'll tell you
97. 16:04I got the new co-pilot on Startup today and it had chosen a turtle for a background that's [ __ ] awesome silver fox
98. 16:13that's great so you got very suspect you so you got um that's co-pilot for Windows 11 right I'm curious what that does
99. 16:22uh oh cool I've been keeping that tab open too I was afraid to close it yeah I think it's tied to your account and it's
100. 16:29I assume what they're doing is just sort of batching you know batching accounts with the with the new you know they're
101. 16:36probably doing 10 000 Accounts at a time you know every 15 minutes they'll do another I mean I don't who knows how
102. 16:42they're rolling that [ __ ] out but that's probably what's going on qualifications AI picked me out of a lineup to study my neural Pathways
103. 16:51exactly um I just booted up not sure yet what's up oh okay that's cool um but apparently Silver Fox you can do things like you know
104. 17:06put my system into dark mode or don't make my system go to sleep you know after five minutes make it 15. it can do
105. 17:16all the [ __ ] that you normally have to go set up in your settings it'll just go do that there's a new project out called open
106. 17:26interpreter which is like code interpreter that you can install into your system and I've installed it in mine but it's I
107. 17:34haven't really played with it I'm waiting I'm waiting for the the kind of sexier commercial version of this

109. 17:47people are talking about turtles it's because they force me on a nightly basis to play a video oh do I not have internet

121. 19:51together that is the thing that just busts me up every time okay good zombie ah you can't that's you can't teach that in
122. 20:03acting class man that level of spontaneity is just that's gold all right let's see so your hunch is right it's not easier
123. 20:15ah okay pate it's not easier to translate to languages that are related yeah so so to the machine learning models like
124. 20:25once these things go into Vector space it's actually quite a simple operation well I don't know how simple it is
125. 20:33technically but it's simple conceptually you write a prompt and it turns into you know a probability within this thousand
126. 20:44Dimension Vector space and some point in that Vector space is the highest probability thing and whether that's a word or whether that's a
127. 20:52I don't know points to some sort of uh noised up image in a diffusion model um it just does its thing it's it really
128. 21:03is remarkable how this Tech works is there an art renderer for 3D design well there there are some quasi ones
129. 21:12um and and there have been a bunch of white papers on taking objects like mid-journey images and turning them into 3D objects
130. 21:21there hasn't been like a big like mid-journey type tool released yet that automatically generates 3D objects that
131. 21:29I know of what I would do if I were you because it's very possible that something has been released and I don't
132. 21:36know about it so if anyone in here knows about it something like that let me know but what I would do also is go to
133. 21:46futurepedia.io that's like a list of like I don't know it's got to be four thousand forty two hundred forty five
134. 21:52hundred tools at this point those are a bunch of AI tools just go there I'm sure there's a 3D section or I'm sure there's
135. 21:58a a something section um there are likely applications that that um let you do natural language input that
136. 22:09um generate 3D objects in a in a program like Unity that probably exists but if you're talking about just make me an apple and
137. 22:19it makes you an apple like like mid-journey but it's a 3D object I don't think that's there yet but I could be very wrong
138. 22:25what company do you own sir it is a company called storyvine in fact I got the little URL right there right
139. 22:34there it is storevine.com oh yeah I bought that in the in the in 1990s news Vine was big at the time and I had an idea for the company that
140. 22:49became storybine and I thought storybine that's really good and I bought that I paid it off over two years so fancy that um [Music]
141. 23:06meta announcements today VR glasses and headset oh VR glasses yeah the Ray-Ban glasses the headset which I can't I cannot believe I heard
142. 23:16one little clip of the meta thing and the dude from meta said we're gonna have the world's cheapest spatial Computing glasses
143. 23:27meta used apples terminology they were everyone was calling it The metaverse meta changed their [ __ ] name to meta
144. 23:40and today a dude from meta called the thing that those Goggles do spatial Computing goggles oh my god do they not have a PR for like
145. 23:56just does Zuckerberg like need a loan for a PR firm I don't know maybe they cut some deal with Apple or something like that but
146. 24:05that just blew my mind that they did that that guy said that uh yeah the meta AI assistant and the Tom Brady bot and there's like there's a
147. 24:13yeah they yeah meta today announced all these like um personality Bots like one is the dungeon master and it's Snoop Dogg I I
148. 24:23don't know that D and D players are thinking Snoop Dogg although probably be kind of cool to play D D with Snoop Dogg but
149. 24:32oh man I don't know man meta seems like they're all over the place I I just I I keep every time I see their product
150. 24:40launches I'm like who is their target audience it's like it's like they don't have one and it's like our target
151. 24:48audience is everyone you know here's a consumer toy here's this here's that here's a piece of important technology
152. 24:55uh but yeah Big announcements today big announcements for meta um this Chachi PT stuff's rolling out
153. 25:03the Microsoft stuff is coming the Gemini stuff is coming soon um it's gonna be a wild October November December I think

161. 26:12sneaking suspicion it's going to have some pretty tight YouTube Integrations I I have a feeling it was trained on YouTube
162. 26:19which is why it's probably really good um what do you mean paid it off over two years I thought it's a monthly payment

164. 26:34seventy five hundred dollars so I said I forget what I paid him like 200 bucks a month for I don't know however long it took

183. 29:37um this is what I call the adult table so these are the top three tools that I'm using pretty consistently now
184. 29:43although Bard probably not as much I use the top two a lot uh the top one is chat GPT um depending on oh thank you very much
185. 29:54that was a cool one I don't think I've seen that one before um depending on if you uh pay for uh chat GPT plus you may or may not have
186. 30:03access to their new um chat gptv which is V is for vision where it can see stuff you can upload images to it um
187. 30:13and they also brought back browse with Bing internet connection today so so um I don't have I can't show you either
188. 30:21of those because I don't have them yet but this is about to get um much more sophisticated really quickly Claude is by a company called
189. 30:31anthropic who's a bunch of ex-open AI people who started a competitor and they just got invested in by Amazon to the
190. 30:39tune of four billion dollars well 1.4 billion 1.5 billion with a four billion dollar you know a possible total investment
191. 30:48and then Bard is Google's entry into this space it's connected to the internet and they've got this thing coming out called
192. 30:56Gemini which I assume is going to sit underneath that thing and they claim it's like five times better than gpt4
193. 31:05and like eight times bigger and I don't know they're they're all swinging there we Willie winkies at each other
194. 31:14mine's bigger than yours though mine's bigger than yours well mine can do multimodal now mine can do multimodal
195. 31:21there's a lot of that going on right now so the good news is we're the beneficiaries of it but it's a little
196. 31:26exhausting okay so that's that page oh and then prompts.chat that's just a little document it's like a little
197. 31:32primer document that talks to you about how these large language models work how to talk to them it gives you some
198. 31:39prompts you can copy and paste it'll give you a lot of ideas um so so that's that stuff okay um this is what I call the kids table so
199. 31:48these are are ones that I think are a little uh less useful on a day-to-day basis but still really interesting
200. 31:58so bing.com is in the doghouse that's why it's dark gray and you can barely see it um because the safety guard rails on it
201. 32:08just make it a steaming pile of poo right now um perplexity.ai is a really interesting site and service labs.perplexity is free
202. 32:16hosting of meta's llama 2 models so that's worth going and playing around my mine looks like a rocket exactly Silver
203. 32:24Fox exactly mine looks like a rocket well I have a very tall rocket I'm flying to Mars it's exhausting um Pi Pi dot a I
204. 32:38um that's a company called inflection they just raised 1.3 billion dollars so that's going to be a significant player
205. 32:44if you download the PI app um you can put it into conversation mode and just talk to it it's connected to
206. 32:50the internet and you can talk to one of these GPT models it's designed for conversation it's really interesting for
207. 32:57that and then Poe is one where you can play with multiple models in the same interface and it's got a bot maker and
208. 33:03and so so that's it so those are the seven large language model things I think are worth playing with right now this list
209. 33:10the you know these two lists um are probably going to get shaken up here in a week or two because just shit's changing
210. 33:21so that's the that's the word stuff now the picture stuff um if you want to make pitches again this is going to change
211. 33:29probably in a week this list will not be the same so if if you want this list screenshot it now because it's gonna go
212. 33:37away this could be a collector's item we could turn it into an nft you can buy an nft and then exactly you see that's what this channel
213. 33:49is really about what this really is is a multi-level Market I mean a pyramid scheme and you level up and when you level up
214. 33:56your downline gets into your up upline as your the upline is the in the downline and anyway all right so

218. 34:37the best of these of these image generation tools ideogram is not great at the image generation but it's really good well not really good it
219. 34:46is the first of these large language models that can do words like that and that and that and that and that and
220. 34:55that and that and that all these were done in ideogram all of the tools in AI right now are janky pieces of [ __ ]
221. 35:04thank you to one of the Irregulars who made me that it's lovely that was made in ideogram um leonardo.ai is is a really good
222. 35:15interface if you want a good powerful interface on top of stable diffusion but you don't want to figure out how to
223. 35:21install automatic 1111 in a Google collab notebook because you didn't get a computer science degree and you're like
224. 35:29can I just make pictures you can at Leonardo um heygen.com that's the one that I showed earlier that uh you know I'm speaking Chinese
225. 35:42foreign .com actually labs.hagen.com and there's a video translate tool there um and then
226. 35:57um Adobe Firefly and Photoshop generative fill if you've got Creative Cloud licenses they have now generally
227. 36:03released their generative generative AI tools so they're available for commercial use and they haven't been
228. 36:08trained on copywritten work so if you're in a company if you're in a corporation Adobe Firefly and and Photoshop generative feeling good
229. 36:17openart.ai promptbook thank you apocryphal Apocrypha um thank you very much um The Prompt book thing there will teach
230. 36:29you how to talk to these image models it's designed for stable diffusion but it'll work for all of them because
231. 36:35they're all basically the same technology um I'm also the one of the co-hosts of a thing called the AI Salon which is a
232. 36:44community of AI adventurers and we've got a Discord channel so if if you want a place to hang out and talk to people
233. 36:52that are into this AI stuff and you want to ask questions last night at the we we have a meeting every two weeks last
234. 36:59night was our our uh our bi-weekly meeting and we launched this thing called guilds so they're they're sub
235. 37:06communities within the salon so we've got a writing Guild and a making Art Guild and a AI 101 Guild it's really

266. 41:45know where the boundaries are when Gemini comes out from Google if indeed it's even as good as chat gpt4 much less better than chat gbt4
267. 41:55if it's as good as well where is it as good as is it is it better at coding is it better at language is it better at you know doing
268. 42:06basic math does it hallucinate less does it hallucinate more is it is it tightly integrated with YouTube which could completely transform

270. 42:22like the the stage of the industry we're at right now is this primordial soup right and it's and it's like that thick
271. 42:29sort of bloop you know and and I think we're just like right now we're just about to have like one of the bubbles

277. 43:10teach anything too Tactical it's going to be useless in six months right but if I teach if it's too esoteric and just like you know be Zen
278. 43:20with with your exploration of AI then that's completely useless I I need to sort of you know figure out how to how
279. 43:27to walk that thread but I would say be very very skeptical of anyone right now that claims to be an expert at this
280. 43:35stuff no one is an expert at this and then on the flip side of that coin if you're feeling like oh I'm so far behind
281. 43:42I don't know what I'm doing and I'm not technical that it doesn't matter you're not behind we're all behind right
282. 43:50these these tools are coming at us they're coming at us hard what they make possible we have no idea
283. 43:58what five years out looks like much less you know even a year out um so you're not behind and the whole
284. 44:07purpose of this channel is just to say welcome welcome to the madness it was funny I got a I got a direct message
285. 44:14from someone today that said um you know I stumbled on your channel and you know I was really resistant to
286. 44:22AI so like she was in a she was in in this sort of demonization place of like ai's evil ai's bad and she said she's
287. 44:29slowly coming around to oh maybe this is just a tool and I need to start experimenting with it and you know it's
288. 44:35this isn't so black and white it's not black and white these things are profoundly powerful and very flawed
289. 44:42they're there there's things that they do really horribly just bad they're just not good and then there's other things
290. 44:49that they do that are face meltingly powerful the thing about them is that as as flawed as they are right now
291. 45:00how they are today is as bad as they're ever going to be they only get better from here so start understanding what they are and how they
292. 45:13work and it will serve you I'm telling you I feel like it's the next 18 months anyone anyone right we we've had a
293. 45:23couple of people in here uh more than one person that have come in and like I'm in retirement but I'm think I'm
294. 45:29coming out now like I'm into this let's let's do something like there's a lot of people right now rediscovering a passion for something
295. 45:38because we're at the birth of a thing that I think we all instinctively know is gonna fundamentally transform how we do
296. 45:47business the definition of work the definition of productivity the the the it's going to completely upset the
297. 45:56apple cart in where the value is in the value chain and so we're all just trying to figure it out it's tremendously exciting it's

302. 46:39loses the time and materials model that their entire industry is founded on what does that mean I don't know
303. 46:52does it mean the big holding companies right now flail if they don't adopt fixed pricing Maybe how long can they hold on to that model

305. 47:15ah dinosaur that's very good that's very very good exactly how many Kodak moments are happening right now I they're
306. 47:27happening in universities they're happening in companies you know the Kodak moment right they [ __ ] invented the digital camera
307. 47:40and the engineers came in and said he has a digital camera sirs bah humbug pixels we're in the silver halide business
308. 47:5510 years later 20 years later they're out of business how many moments are gonna happen you know this year next year the following year
309. 48:07where arrogance and hubris of well we're us this won't affect us and then some Punky little 20-somethings or 30 somethings or a pile
310. 48:20of gen xers are going to get into a room together and they're gonna huh what if we started a 10 person company
311. 48:27just to [ __ ] with the ad industry you have a bunch of EX ad execs that that know how to Market and how to [ __ ]

313. 48:49shops are going to turn into 100 person shops and then 500 person shops and that 500 person shop can do the work at the same or better

322. 50:11is the gratuitous use of Technology um I hate it I think the This Crowd I just want to smash my phone every time I hear that and see that
323. 50:25um you know this this is not this is not black and white right now it's not ai's great or it's not ai's evil
324. 50:35and it's not generative ai's perfect and it's not these things are gonna it's it's not any of that it's just that
325. 50:43if you pay attention to what the tools are doing and how they're doing it in my lifetime from my understanding of computers I I
326. 50:56wrote my first line of basic in uh seventh grade in 1977. and so I kind of knew about computers before that and then I got into them
327. 51:10then and everything about everything that I know about computers requires human beings
328. 51:25to think logically about how to get the machines to do what they want and they have to think of the logic
329. 51:35and they have to write the logic and they have to Branch it and they have to do these hierarchies and this generative AI stuff is not that
330. 51:46it's some of How It's trained is a lot of that but the the fact that we can use our our natural language our native languages
331. 51:58English in my case as a programming language just changes everything it changes [ __ ] everything right because right now
332. 52:11right now it doesn't seem like that maybe maybe sort of how profound it is that you can say you know write me a
333. 52:19poem or write me a python application or write me this or write me that it doesn't seem that profound because
334. 52:25Chachi BT is kind of like this little this little you know hermetically sealed tool off to the side right we're still
335. 52:33doing our business and we still think about writing papers and writing emails and thinking about problem solving in
336. 52:40our business oh and then maybe I'll go over here and play with chat GPT right it's this thing off to the side
337. 52:45as these things get more integrated into what we do it will increasingly be that you just ask for what you want and the machines
338. 52:57will go do it for you and sort of bring you back the results and then you just go no Bad Bad Robot flick or brilliant robot great
339. 53:10what does that mean it's crazy ask ER yeah Sherry Banks I uh my first uh computer was a trash 80. hang on look I've got a do I have it here

341. 53:43so this is this is the the beginning of uh of another one of these two weeks from now um this is my first day of math class in
342. 53:551977. I walked into my classroom and it kind of looked like this this is a mid-journey representation of a 1970s
343. 54:03classroom with a computer on every desk and on the desks were trash 80s that that model right there with the Dual
344. 54:11floppy drives and the orange the the orange on button and the big giant clackety keys and the first thing that we learned was
345. 54:21L print which you could print a line of text to screen and my buddy Scott buchart and I we made an animation of
346. 54:29ASCII art of a Rocket taking off back to back to Rockets right mine looks like a rocket um we made an animation of an ASCII
347. 54:37rocket it was like a Saturn V like you know scrolling up on the screen and then the plumes of fire came out at the
348. 54:43bottom we were so proud of that and it was one command we learned one command and we were making cool animations with it um
349. 54:52and yeah and this was I I mean the the thing that I was acutely aware of when I was in seventh grade was that
350. 55:01that machine as I learned with that machine did I like what hit me was oh [ __ ] this is like the printing press and
351. 55:11I'm just too young to have been in on the ground floor of that because you know Steve Jobs and Wozniak were on
352. 55:21the cover of you know Newsweek and Time Magazine and Bill Gates and the team at Microsoft was was you know doing their
353. 55:29thing and I was in seventh grade and I was like oh man I just missed like I could have I could have been somebody I could have been a player
354. 55:37and and that it like it broke my heart and then and then I didn't think I'd see another one of those in my lifetime because I knew that
355. 55:46that these things don't come along very often right the printing press was whatever it was 500 years before more than that um
356. 55:59and it made me really sad and then in 1994 I stumbled on this thing called the world wide web and I published an online magazine
357. 56:08in my apartment in Brooklyn and three weeks later there was a full page article written about it in Paris in Liberation on the
358. 56:19Parisian News Daily and I had I had I just I had an epiphany of holy [ __ ] the world just changed and
359. 56:28holy [ __ ] the World Wide Web is like this like this PC moment and so I went all in on the world wide web stuff and I co-founded agency.com
360. 56:40and I it was a crazy crazy time and I didn't think I'd see it again in my lifetime and then I played with chat GPT and I was like holy
361. 56:51[ __ ] here it is again there's like three of these in my lifetime like I I if if you if you are not acutely aware how lucky you are to be
362. 57:04able to play with this stuff in this moment it's it's an amazingly rare thing and this one in particular
363. 57:11this is going to make the invention of the personal computer and the world wide web and the iPhone all of them seem
364. 57:19quaint right because this is just it's the way this stuff is using the computer is just a fundamentally different thing so it's crazy
365. 57:28so anyway listen listen it's just not that many of us in here tonight don't tell anyone I get this cuckoo with this stuff
366. 57:36he seems very obsessed with it did you notice that I think he's a little touched do you think so too do you think
367. 57:43so I don't think it's healthy I don't think it's healthy I think you think this is religion do you think he thinks
368. 57:48it's God oh I don't know he might thank you I'm sharing some deep gems some deep something lucky discs I had a TRS-80 with cassette

371. 58:32funny Clint so I had TRS 80s in seventh grade and then my buddy Scott buchart his dad was in real estate so he had a
372. 58:40lot of money so he had a he had an apple II and then he had a Lisa he bought his dad a Lisa for the real estate business
373. 58:47it was a ten thousand dollar computer that was like a really giant shitty Macintosh so he had a Lisa and then when the first
374. 58:56Mac came out you know he and I were playing on the Mac and we had modems and we were calling up you know um
375. 59:04it was cool you could you could call up computer systems that didn't have any Security on them you could just download
376. 59:10lists of phone numbers so I remember my my only actual hacking experience we got one of those lists and and basically you
377. 59:18would you would get one of those lists and then you would just have the computer just randomly call phone
378. 59:23numbers until it hit a phone number where it logged into a computer and so we did that and we logged into the
379. 59:31control system of a mall in North Carolina and we you know dug through the menu systems and we turned the heat up to 99
380. 59:40and we reverse the escalators we reversed the direction of the escalators so ah those were good times all right I
381. 59:50had chat wait I tell chat GPT to make my email casual professional and I've been 100 satisfied with the outcome yeah it's
382. 59:58great at that stuff it's also good if you haven't tried it silver fox um if you've got an email that you've
383. 1:00:05written or anything that you've written that you're really happy with you know paste paste it in there as an example
384. 1:00:10and just say follow the tone and structure of that other thing I wrote it's really good at that as well we
385. 1:00:16still use Fortran 77 in the HPC world yeah yeah yeah I know well and that's another place where these where the the
386. 1:00:23large language models you know because you've got all these computer languages that are that are fading where you where
387. 1:00:29you have you don't have expertise for people that can do Fortran and and Cobalt and things like that in these old
388. 1:00:35Mainframe systems that are still still out there um you know I think the the the ability to um refactor code or just to even
389. 1:00:45understand and document code um that may be of a previous era could be really really powerful I hope my persistence comes off as

433. 1:08:22chat EPT has a new thing called chat GPT Enterprise where they're starting with people that can spend 10 or 15 grand a
434. 1:08:28month and then it'll come down to to us plebes at some point um or if you do a standalone instance on Microsoft Azure or something on AWS
435. 1:08:40where you know you've got a hermetically sealed environment where you're you're running these large language models you
436. 1:08:46know in some sort of thing assume that assume that the sort of consumer versions of these things are
437. 1:08:53not secure and so does it mean you can't use them no it doesn't but but what it might mean is you go through and
438. 1:09:01de-personalize a document so maybe you've got a legal document and instead of the person's name you put in Mickey
439. 1:09:06Mouse right and you know you you take out real addresses and then you go process the document like that so so
440. 1:09:14that's anything that I'm doing that involves client data I'm depersonalizing it if I'm dealing with anything that is
441. 1:09:21not in a standalone hermetically sealed thing so I would I would just assume um just assume it's not safe assume it's
442. 1:09:30not secure because otherwise you'll end up like that group out of Japan and Samsung where they they put a bunch of
443. 1:09:37stuff up on chat CPT and it got it got snacked up by the community who hackers gonna hack and so yeah so

445. 1:10:02yeah I remember that it was a Magnavox I had my stepdad got that system the Magnavox Odyssey and we had like a 27 inch like one of
446. 1:10:14those big console TVs it was like a 27 inch TV which was Giant at the time because it was a tube right and it had all the the election
447. 1:10:22like it would it would literally shock you if you walked up to it because it was just a giant like Tesla coil just
448. 1:10:29basically ready to electrocute you at any moment and then yeah the the Magnavox Odyssey video game for like the duck shooting game
449. 1:10:39you'd put the big piece of plastic it would static electricity to this Tesla coil TV and then the sky would be blue
450. 1:10:47and the water would be you know the the grass would be green on the bottom it's [ __ ] awful and like the controllers would be like

452. 1:11:12one of my Great disillusionment Moments you know you there's those moments where you grow up right so so this was in the

454. 1:11:27with machines in it and you put quarters in it and you play video games and then the Atari 2600 came out
455. 1:11:34and they're like oh it's so exciting and you can play video games at home and it's like the arcade experience at home
456. 1:11:40and then they made the boxes the artwork on the boxes looked like the [ __ ] arcade games and then you'd get
457. 1:11:47the game home and it was like six blocks bouncing around scream and you're like this isn't this isn't an arcade game and
458. 1:11:57it was just like I kept I kept getting suckered into buying Atari 2600 games because someone would come out with clever box art and I'd go
459. 1:12:07maybe this one's different and I look at the back and I'm like yeah this one's gonna be better when I go play it no
460. 1:12:13it's still just shitty arcade games oh man my first Mac came with one megabyte of ram I uploaded upgraded to two megabytes
461. 1:12:26for five grand so my first Mac it was a 512 ke and I think it was my buddy Scott buchart the guy that that
462. 1:12:35um you know he and I did computer stuff as a kid um he had a five megabyte hard drive and it was actually it's funny I've got a box

667. 1:46:58some of these models are going to be powerful enough that the companies making them are going to the government
668. 1:47:05to say you should license these things now there's a cynical side of me that says you know if you're early enough you get

887. 2:24:32wake up in the morning like the artist wakes up in the morning goes to the cafe gets a coffee comes back to the studio
888. 2:24:38and starts painting the farmer makes eggs with the wife and then goes out and starts farming um and then when these NPCs interact
889. 2:24:48with one another they have conversations and they remember what they talked about so one of the examples they give in this
890. 2:24:55paper is that is that um one of the NPCs said to the other one it was his birthday next week and so the other one planned a party
891. 2:25:07with the other NPCs so he got together they planned a party for this this other one um and it remembers it and and it's and
892. 2:25:17it's so so these things are like living in this world independent of of you or whatever other players going through it and they're
893. 2:25:27developing memories and they're developing you know personalities and they're getting work done what's fascinating about this to me is that
894. 2:25:38the distance between this being a game activity and being a personal agent for for yourself is very small
895. 2:25:48so so imagine this rather than it being a game like this imagine that you've got 25 agents that represent you
896. 2:25:57you've got a little entertainment agent whose job it is to go out and find interesting stuff for you to do and
