5:04 then okay so so I talked last night if

5:10 did a little a little bit of a rant on
5:11 this idea of um urgency of breadth
5:17 versus urgency of
5:19 depth and and what that means is okay
5:21 we've got all this new technology coming
5:23 along right and like back in the olden
5:25 timey days in the in the early days of
5:26 the worldwide web um there wasn't a ton
5:31 of new technology right like we were
5:33 basically waiting for everyone to get
5:35 their computers connected to the
5:36 internet all the time and you know there
5:39 was HTML and there was you know sort of
5:42 creating servers but like there wasn't a
5:46 proliferation of Technology it was it
5:48 was a handful of technologies that
5:50 everyone was trying to build on and we
5:52 were basically trying to build the
5:54 infrastructure of the internet while we
5:57 were building the website sitting on top
5:58 of it
6:01 and so while it was overwhelming in a
6:05 sense that we were having to think a lot
6:10 about what is it what is the internet
6:12 what does it mean to be connected
6:15 through this thing what does it mean to
6:17 hyperlink from this site to that site
6:19 what does it mean to be able to you know
6:22 play a game in a banner right or or you
6:25 know let's invent that you could play a
6:27 game in a B Banner and then what does
6:29 that mean right know it was it was it
6:31 was all sort of incremental Builds on
6:34 top of a a very non-existent
6:38 infrastructure right so so it was
6:41 relatively
6:42 simple and when chat GPT came out when I
6:46 when I kind of lost my
6:48 mind November 30th 2022 is the day I
6:51 said holy [ __ ] the world's just changed
6:54 again I had I had that Epiphany in
6:57 1977 when I was just too young to deal
6:59 with it I had that Epiphany in 1994 when
7:02 I could take full advantage of it and I
7:05 discovered this thing called the
7:06 worldwide web I'm like what the [ __ ] is
7:07 this this is
7:09 amazing and then
7:12 uh digital Gods rap is like a chalkboard
7:15 to me hey I
7:17 know
7:20 um and then I had it again when chat GPT
7:22 came
7:24 up and my
7:27 initial the way I started this Tik Tok
7:30 channel the way I started doing AI
7:31 learning lab was just learn the [ __ ] as
7:35 new stuff comes out figure out what it
7:37 is tell people about it we'll share with
7:39 each other um in the in the mid 90s I
7:42 started this group called the worldwide
7:43 web artist Consortium which was you know
7:46 let's hang out and talk about the
7:47 worldwide web and so in 2022 I started
7:51 the AI salon and it's the exact same
7:53 kind of thing let's get a group of
7:55 people together that are curious about
7:57 this stuff and interested in it let's
7:59 talk about it share let's you know we
8:01 know things are going to change a lot so
8:03 let's get really generous in how much we
8:06 share with one another because it
8:08 doesn't [ __ ] matter if you've got
8:09 some special sauce way to do a large
8:12 language model right now that's not
8:14 going to matter three months from now
8:15 cuz open AI will come out with some new
8:17 version of it and your [ __ ] won't work
8:19 anymore or it'll be just a feature of
8:21 the bigger thing right so that's where
8:23 we
8:24 are the initial year there was
8:27 relatively few enough things launched
8:31 that you could kind of keep track of it
8:32 all so there was this urgency of breadth
8:36 right an urgency to learn it all let's
8:39 okay let's learn here's all the large
8:40 language models and and like I drew the
8:42 line at open source because I'm not
8:44 super
8:45 geeky um and open source is just chaos
8:48 and you've got to maintain it and stick
8:51 with it and like and track it it's it's
8:54 just it's a lot of work so I thought
8:57 I'll just stick with commercial stuff
8:58 and then we'll learn everything
9:00 and so that was good for about a year
9:02 and then as we got into
9:04 2024 it was okay it was still going good
9:07 and then you know open AI started not
9:10 launching
9:11 [ __ ] and other companies
9:14 started
9:16 um other companies started catching up
9:19 to open Ai and then new ones came on
9:21 board I was talking to Christian Robbins
9:24 he's he works for a uh a Motion Graphics
9:27 firm up in Boulder called $11 bill
9:30 um and they're really AI forward there
9:32 are traditional um you know special
9:35 effects in post- production house that
9:37 have completely embraced Ai and like
9:39 he's he's a he's a really smart dude
9:41 really talented dude but he's also you
9:45 know trying to walk this line between
9:47 how we used to do things and how we're
9:49 going to do things so anyway we had
9:50 lunch that was
9:52 nice um and we we were talking about
9:55 this that that there are so many tools
9:59 now like just video generation tools
10:02 alone we've got four or five Chinese
10:06 Sora
10:08 competitors right we've got Runway we've
10:11 got cing we've got Halo minia Max we've
10:15 got Luma lab's dream dream machine a new
10:18 one came out today that's supposed to be
10:20 a SORA thing apparently Sora is supposed
10:23 to come out sometime soon we might have
10:26 Sor we're going to have eight or nine of
10:28 these things every single one of those
10:31 takes time to master right so you can't
10:34 really learn them all and then it's the
10:36 same with images and it's the same with
10:38 large language models and it's the same
10:39 with specialty tools that are wrapper
10:42 things that that do specialized stuff
10:45 and so the the the Insight that I've
10:47 been coming to it's taken me a while
10:49 it's been like a two-month process to
10:51 just get my head around it and it was
10:53 articulated this Tuesday night at the AI
10:55 Salon it was
10:58 articulated as
11:00 do we we're transitioning from urgency
11:03 of breadth an urgency to learn
11:05 everything to an urgency of depth pick a
11:07 lane or pick a project and then just
11:10 pick two or three tools that you need to
11:12 do to do that project and let's just do
11:14 that well and
11:17 so so as I was talking to Christian
11:19 about that today and as I've been
11:20 thinking about that and then I've as
11:22 I've been thinking about the the quantum
11:24 Cipher this

11:27 um I realized ah this is an opportunity
11:31 to do that right we can just say okay
11:35 so here were the events that happen
11:38 that's going to give us an opportunity
11:39 to have some urgency of depth here's why
11:42 we're going to dig down down this Rabbit
11:45 Hole chat GPT open AI two days ago
11:49 launches GPT
11:52 40 that that was already there like some
11:55 of the comments on my Tik Tok Channel
11:57 have actually been wait hasn't GPT 4 o
12:00 been out for a while yes and two days
12:04 ago overnight they just updated it and
12:07 it's a it's a new version of GPT 40 that
12:11 is better for creative writing so hang
12:13 on a sec I'm already losing my voice
12:15 this is not going to be
12:19 good

12:33 yeah Danielle I know isn't that crazy so
12:36 the uh the
12:38 um uh the quantum Cipher I made a a Tik
12:42 Tok video that said holy crap this this
12:46 uh this song I made is really cool um
12:49 that video has almost a quarter of a
12:52 million views my biggest video ever was
12:55 like
12:57 110,000 um and most of my videos are
13:00 anywhere between I don't know
13:03 1,500 you know good ones are may may
13:05 roll up to five or six grand shitty ones
13:08 are like somewhere around
13:10 500 um but this thing's gotten um
13:15 250,000 views I've gone from I was I was
13:19 perpetually stuck at
13:22 36,600 followers today I'm up to like
13:25 almost 39,000 followers on Tik Tok um X
13:30 I was at like 2600 now I'm over 3,000 so
13:34 just that's super cool like all this
13:36 cool stuff's happening
13:39 but that new version of chat
13:43 GPT this started as a very simple thing
13:46 I wanted to test one prompt and it's the
13:48 it's it's one of the very first prompts
13:50 I used in chat GPT when I stumbled on it
13:54 which was it seemed like chat GPT could
13:57 answer anything and what I what I put in
13:59 my head was what are two concepts that
14:02 are very very far
14:04 apart that you could sort of roll
14:07 together and and test and see if you
14:09 know these AI things were
14:12 good and so I thought well you know rap
14:16 music lyrics creativity quantum physics
14:20 right you know they seem they seem like
14:22 they're on opposite sides of the
14:23 universe right so I was like well why
14:25 not Mash those together so I so I wrote
14:28 this silly little prompt of just like
14:30 you know make me an M&M rap that you
14:32 know talks about quantum mechanics and
14:35 from the beginning cat GPT was pretty
14:37 good at it it knew what song structure
14:39 was it knew how to rhyme stuff other
14:42 large language models couldn't rhyme at
14:44 all some of them didn't know song
14:46 structure like it was just it was a mess
14:49 right two years two years I would use
14:54 that prompt periodically just new model
14:56 would come out I'd throw it in there and
14:57 I'd just test it and someone would go oh
15:00 Pi's really good or this is really good
15:01 I'd go test that prompt because in
15:04 testing the same prompt over time you
15:06 get to see how things evolve you get to
15:08 see how things relate to one another
15:10 maybe something's better at some things
15:11 than the other it's a really simplistic
15:13 way to do it but it works for me right
15:14 it's a single thing easy to
15:17 remember um I I have a similar one with
15:20 image tools which is a 1970s muscle car
15:23 Resto mod in an abandoned Factory some
15:25 version of that right um that was how I
15:29 discovered
15:30 that adobe
15:31 Firefly um has only been trained on
15:34 public domain images and public domain
15:36 images end around 1962 or
15:40 three and so it didn't know what a 70s
15:43 muscle car was because it only had
15:45 pictures up to like 1962 or 64 cars so
15:49 70s muscle cars look like
15:52 1962 Russian weird ass cars so anyway
15:56 that's that's what that was and then
16:00 yesterday um or was it the day before
16:03 whenever whenever I did it um this new
16:07 gp4 writes this Eminem rap in a
16:12 completely different way in fact I did a
16:14 post on it on X this afternoon where I
16:17 took a screenshot of of a a an Eminem
16:20 WAP that was generated last July and I
16:23 put it next to the one that was
16:24 generated for the the quantum Cipher and
16:28 they're just stag staggeringly different
16:30 like the the one before the writing
16:32 update just sucked it was just flat it
16:34 was just typical there was not really
16:36 much imagination in it there was no word
16:38 play there was no double anras there was
16:41 no um internal rhyming schemes or any of
16:43 that sort of
16:45 stuff um then sunno the the music making
16:51 tool comes out with V4 also this week
16:54 and so these two things sort of sort of
16:56 roll together and so I make this song
16:58 and I put it out and we're getting all
16:59 these views and it's all super cool so

17:16 depth so one of the other groups I'm in
17:18 is this group called content Evolution
17:20 and
17:21 and it's a group that's got a lot of
17:24 people in it who are thinkers and they
17:28 run business is and a lot of them have
17:30 written books or they write articles or
17:33 they write
17:36 papers and you know we're a bunch of
17:40 older
17:41 people so we kind of do things the way
17:44 we do things and we think about well
17:46 let's write a book right we're going to
17:47 write a book and then we're going to put
17:48 the book out there and try to get people
17:50 to buy the book and then we're going to
17:52 use that book to try to get speaking
17:53 gigs and it's like the the the world of
17:57 old used to be you know because it takes
18:01 a long time to make things like books or
18:06 a speech a keynote speech you kind of do
18:09 them in this serial fashion right you go
18:12 okay I'm going to write a book and then
18:14 for the next year you're writing a book
18:15 and you're writing a book and you're
18:16 writing a book then you write the book
18:18 then you get it published and then they
18:20 print it and now you have boxes full of
18:23 books right and then you start thinking
18:25 about okay I got to come up with a
18:26 keynote I got to get on the speaking
18:27 circuit this is very linear sort of
18:30 thing and one of the things that we're
18:32 confronting there is well like why a
18:35 book why not a GPT of those same ideas
18:40 why not uh an interactive dashboard why
18:44 not a song about that
18:47 concept and so tonight as I was I was
18:51 thinking about what to do
18:54 tonight some of the i' I've been I've
18:56 been trying um I
19:00 I'm I've been trying to keep up with the
19:02 comments on both Twitter and Tik Tok and
19:08 I've been failing
19:11 miserably um but some of the comments
19:15 are like hey this rap song that's really
19:20 really
19:20 good also talks about quantum physics
19:23 which is kind of cool so I've got some
19:25 Quantum physicists weighing in on the
19:28 accuracy of the Quant quantum physics in
19:30 the lyrics I've got rappers weighing in
19:32 on the validity of AI music and you know
19:36 is this a cipher or a logic rap or what
19:39 whatever it is like I'm learning a
19:42 lot
19:44 um and then there have been Educators
19:46 and the educators are like this could be
19:48 a really interesting
19:50 way to educate people to to educate
19:54 students to get them excited about a
19:56 concept right you take all this quantum
19:57 physics stuff you wrap it in this Cipher
20:00 that's got all this convoluted language
20:02 it's not everything's not on the surface
20:04 in in what this new chat jpt
20:08 wrote so in the spirit of diving deep
20:11 and not having to go outside of the
20:12 tools we use we're using two tools right
20:14 now we're using chat GPT and we're using
20:16 sunno and that's all we need to use if
20:19 we want to make an image like I made a I
20:21 made an album cover for the song to put
20:23 on Spotify I used mid Journey for that
20:25 and Photoshop so there's four tools but
20:28 you know those are just support tools
20:30 the primary tools Areo the music making
20:32 tool and um and chat GPT which did the
20:37 lyrics and it also wrote The
20:40 Prompt to get sunno to act like this
20:43 Eminem song and there's all sorts of
20:45 debate of whether or not it sounds like
20:46 an Eminem song but I I don't really care
20:49 like it's it's it's a fine piece of
20:51 music people seem to like it so the
20:52 labels I don't give a sh as much of a
20:54 [ __ ] about but then then I just started
20:56 thinking okay if we're just going to run
20:58 deep down on this Rabbit Hole what are
21:00 our opportunities here well last night
21:03 what we did was we said well let's take
21:06 the the the prompt for quantum physics
21:09 and let's just transfer it to different
21:11 artists so we did Chance the Rapper and
21:14 we did Missy
21:15 ellot and then I and then some of the
21:17 other comments on Tik Tok have been um
21:21 I'd buy this album there should be other
21:23 songs so then I'm like what should those
21:25 songs be right should it be the same
21:27 artist should it be different artists
21:29 um and then what should the topic be and
21:31 then I thought oh well maybe you could
21:33 do an album where you know this song's
21:36 about quantum mechanics this song's
21:38 about biology this song's about health
21:40 care this song's about math this song's
21:43 about right so it could be an education
21:45 series but it's all like [ __ ] Banger
21:48 hip-hop things and then you could say
21:50 maybe it's a different genre per um per
21:54 topic right so that that was one one way
