9:54 search on Reddit or just search on
9:56 Wikipedia or just search on I forget
9:58 what the other site are um but any
10:02 answers that it gives you it gives you
10:03 citations and it's it's pretty slick
10:06 it's pretty slick and I got the pro
10:07 version of it for free cuz I ordered the
10:10 rabbit R1 AI device not the other rabbit
10:15 device
10:16 um and so I got it for free but I
10:19 haven't really played with it enough to
10:20 to Really rank it but it's good A lot of
10:24 people love perplexity I think people
10:26 that do a lot of research love
10:28 perplexity me where I'm doing more
10:30 creative and marketing kind of stuff um
10:33 I don't have as much need for it and
10:35 with all of these tools I think the
10:37 trick is getting better at
10:42 um figuring out which tools are good for
10:46 which job so Empower pixels I use
10:50 perplexity instead of Google but
10:53 citations Choice could be better yeah I
10:55 agree with that that like it's pretty
10:57 limited right now to to just
11:00 like Wikipedia let me see what what it
11:02 is limited to and also these things
11:05 change on a regular
11:11 basis
11:23 perplexity so if you go to
11:25 focus you can focus it to wolf from
11:27 alpha so if you're doing things on
11:29 mathematical
11:31 equations you can do academic
11:34 searches you can do YouTube searches you
11:37 can just do like a chat GPT writing kind
11:40 of experience and then you can also do
11:42 Reddit and it's also got this thing
11:44 called co-pilot which is pretty
11:46 interesting so when you do a search on
11:48 perplexity co-pilot will suggest other
11:50 things you might want to search on does
11:53 perplexity have their own index or do
11:55 they use Google's index for the back end
11:58 uh I'm pretty sure they have their own
11:59 own and if I recall right I think
12:04 somebody just invested big in them hang
12:07 on uh who
12:10 invested in
12:14 perplexity
12:18 recently Jeff Bezos Amazon Amazon
12:22 invested in perplexity so it's probably
12:25 so it's probably perplexities model
12:27 sitting on oh wait it works as a chat
12:31 chatbot style search engine that
12:32 responds to queries using open AI
12:35 technology so they're using they're
12:37 using probably gp4 for the search and
12:40 then they're they're combining that with
12:42 an internet search in in an interesting
12:44 way um but I assume now it's hosted on
12:46 Amazon so that's what's going on

37:41 creant who have gathered to explore the
37:43 Uncharted Wilderness of generative AI we
37:45 are everyone from entrepreneurs to
37:47 Educators from healthcare workers to
37:49 creatives and everyone in
37:52 between and then what I want you to do
37:54 is I want you to read all this stuff and
37:55 I want you to go look at our Val values
37:57 and we have pretty pictures so if you
37:59 know if you're not good with the words
38:01 we got pretty pictures too but I want
38:03 you to really take in the values and
38:05 make sure that they resonate with you
38:07 cuz here's what here's what we want to
38:08 do we want this to be a growing Vibrant
38:11 Community and we want it not to
38:14 suck okay so the values that I'm about
38:17 to read you that's who this group
38:19 already is so if these don't resonate
38:21 with you this is not your people if
38:23 these values do resonate with you you're
38:25 like holy [ __ ] that sounds amazing
38:27 these are going to be your people okay
38:29 curiosity we want people here who are
38:31 curious generosity we want people that
38:33 as they learn stuff they share about it
38:36 as they enter the community they take
38:37 the risk of of introducing themselves so

39:09 pretty amazing inclusion everyone right

39:16 the planet that knows what the [ __ ] is
39:18 happening with generative AI because
39:20 it's also new we're in the primordial
39:22 soup stage of it so anyone who claims
39:25 they're an expert right now is full of
39:27 [ __ ] what that means is everyone trying
39:30 to figure this out they're just they're
39:32 going to come from all different walks
39:33 of life it's no longer just engineers
39:35 and mathematicians and things like that
39:37 it's artists and creatives and business
39:39 people and writers and filmmakers and
39:41 and just everyone right so inclusion
39:44 super critical and then the final value
39:46 is
39:47 empathy people are scared of this stuff
39:50 people are angry about
39:52 it you know the people at work where
39:54 you're like ah you want to hear this
39:55 sayi stuff no all
39:57 I have that's
40:00 fear and we should have empathy for
40:04 that you know people think that well I'm
40:06 not technical enough to do AI you don't
40:08 need to be technical with this
40:10 generative AI
40:11 stuff well it's stealing no it's not
40:13 stealing it's plagiarizing no it's not
40:17 plagiarizing understand how it
40:19 works so but have empathy for those
40:23 people and have empathy for each other
40:26 because ASC exting as this stuff is it
40:28 can be a little scary if you're like
40:29 well I've been a copywriter for 30 years
40:31 and all of a sudden uh everything's
40:33 different yeah and that's going to be
40:36 like that for every knowledge worker
40:37 every creative worker anyone who does
40:40 any work mediated by computers which is
40:43 essentially most of the world
40:47 right or most of the you know the modern
40:52 world computers are everywhere your
40:56 mechanic how does your mechanic bill you
40:59 computers right do you have the journey
41:02 app I don't know what the journey app
41:05 is it was the oddest thing I thought he
41:07 meant $4

41:13 do have to know how to code oh you don't
41:17 have to know how to code to get results

42:06 gpts are just these amazing joyous
42:09 things that just make all sorts of crazy
42:11 ass art and she's got one that'll make
42:14 recipes for pottery glazes for
42:17 you cone
42:19 6 you need a glaze and Cone
42:22 six she can do that her her GPT does
42:26 that for you so anyway that's that how

56:12 million users in six weeks so by kind of
56:14 mid January it was it was clear this
56:17 thing was a runaway train so around that
56:20 time like beginning of January you
56:21 started hear actually it was end of
56:23 December you started hearing rumbling
56:25 that there was a I forget what they
56:26 called it a like a there was a red alert
56:30 at Google about chat
56:33 GPT and they were freaking out so they
56:36 they called this
56:37 French announcement meeting where they
56:40 were going to show all the cool AI stuff
56:42 they were doing
56:45 and it was bad it was just it was a lot
56:50 of like well we've got AI too we've got
56:52 AI in maps and we've had AI for years
56:54 and we vented this [ __ ] it was it was a
56:57 lot of
56:58 whining in in a sort of corporate speaky

57:02 way and then the one thing they were
57:04 going to demo the woman gets up to demo
57:07 it and she's like okay so we're going to
57:08 demo this new Ai and show you how cool
57:10 it is wait wait what huh what what do
57:14 you mean we lost the phone they they
57:17 lost their demo phone so she gets up
57:20 there to give a demo of this new AI
57:22 stuff and they didn't have the demo
57:24 phone and she goes go okay so I guess
57:26 we're not going to do that anyway we're
57:28 really cool with AI so it was it was a
57:32 [ __ ] train wreck so
57:34 anyway if a year to the day they come
57:38 back with Google Ultra and it's actually
57:40 or Gemini Ultra and it's actually really
57:42 good that should be

59:28 the you know the two top guys at Google
59:31 world we built in the media we consume
59:33 is in those uh different modalities so
59:35 I'm super proud and excited to announce
59:38 the launch of the Gemini era a first
59:40 step towards a truly Universal AI model
59:43 the Gemini approach to multimodality is
59:45 all the kinds of things you want uh an
59:48 artificial intelligence system to be
59:49 able to do and these are capabilities
59:51 that haven't really existed in computers
59:54 before so additionally multimodal models
59:57 are created by stitching together text

1:00:03 in a suboptimal way at a secondary stage

1:00:43 vision and it can make images but it's
1:00:46 mostly
1:00:47 text a little bit of math and a little
1:00:51 bit of image but no music no video video
1:00:55 then you've got you know um Claude is
1:00:58 just text Bard right now is text and
1:01:02 image perplexity is just text co-pilot
1:01:05 is text and
1:01:07 image um although you can do some suo
1:01:09 music in that but it's through a plugin
1:01:12 Pi is text Gro is text llama is text but
1:01:16 I think that there are a bunch of
1:01:17 multimodal models in the open source
1:01:19 world based on that and then pose all
1:01:22 over the place there's lots of things
1:01:23 there then separately
1:01:25 you've got image generation dolly is the
1:01:28 one that's incorporated into the chat
1:01:30 models but mid Journey Crea Deco here
1:01:33 Leonardo and Firefly are all Standalone
1:01:35 image things Runway paa haen did and
1:01:40 Visa I've listed here are all Standalone
1:01:42 video tools and then music 11 labo
1:01:46 refusion and sound draw those are all
1:01:48 Standalone music tools and then 3D
1:01:50 worlds right so so we're very much
1:01:53 living in a world right now where all of
1:01:55 these models are these distinct things
1:01:57 that's why learning this shit's really
1:01:59 hard right now because this shit's
1:02:02 everywhere you have to learn all sorts

1:02:55 could do text and then Dolly 3 came out
1:02:58 and it could do text and because it's
1:03:00 incorporated into chat GPT I think
1:03:03 that's a much more seamless experience
1:03:05 and so and that's why I'm saying this
1:03:07 this what what Google's talking about
1:03:09 here in this announcement that um
1:03:12 they're going you know full multimodal
1:03:14 from the beginning um is is actually a
1:03:18 really important concept and this is the
1:03:20 big shift that we're all going to have
1:03:22 to make where where right now we're
1:03:24 thinking there's a video tool over here
1:03:26 and a this tool over there and a this
1:03:28 tool over there and we've got to learn
1:03:29 all these different tools we are very
1:03:31 quickly moving to a world where all of
1:03:33 these things come together in the same
1:03:35 interface um and that's going to require
1:03:37 a completely different way of thinking
1:03:39 so again back to that that idea of there
1:03:41 are no experts this is why there are no
1:03:43 experts everything's about to
1:03:46 change I think I found mid journey in
1:03:49 the GPT
1:03:50 store weird no I don't think you found

1:05:44 hype of the fear of AI is absolutely
1:05:48 there but anyone who has their Kevin
1:05:52 McAllister moment with AI this moment
1:05:55 is
1:05:57 counterbalancing that
1:05:59 fear and so with Y2K you only had the
1:06:03 fear right the the Y2K was just you know
1:06:08 the the clock is going to strike
1:06:09 midnight and planes are going to fall
1:06:11 out of the sky that's literally what
1:06:13 people were afraid of there was no
1:06:16 positive to it right there was no hey if
1:06:18 we fix all these these Y2K bugs good
1:06:22 things are going to happen it's just if
1:06:24 we fix all these Y2K bugs planes might
1:06:27 not fall out of the sky so the
1:06:29 difference here is you've got a 100
1:06:31 million people tried chat GPT I think
1:06:34 they're up to like 180 or 200 million
1:06:37 active weekly
1:06:39 users using chat GPT so if you take
1:06:43 let's say 10% of those are using it a
1:06:46 lot
1:06:48 that's 18 million 18 million weekly
1:06:51 users right using it a lot understand
1:06:55 what's coming and you know if you hang
1:06:57 out in this channel one of the things
1:06:59 that
1:07:00 you learn very very quickly is how
1:07:05 people are Reinventing themselves and

1:07:50 our lest and most capable model it means
1:07:52 that Gemini can understand the world

1:07:57 absorb any type of input and output so

1:08:03 code audio image and video what's
1:08:06 amazing about Gemini is that it's so
1:08:08 good at so many things as we started
1:08:10 getting to the end of the training uh we
1:08:12 started seeing that Gemini was better
1:08:14 than any other model out there on these
1:08:16 very very important benchmarks for
1:08:18 example each of the 50 different
1:08:21 subject there was there was some wonky
1:08:25 math in this but there was a there was a
1:08:27 way that they did the math that that it
1:08:30 was not Apples to Apples but it's still
1:08:33 essentially as good as GP that we tested
1:08:36 on um it's as good as the best expert
1:08:38 humans in those areas it's very rare
1:08:41 that you can work on a technology at a
1:08:44 foundational level and it simultaneously
1:08:46 can impact all our products that pick
1:08:49 looks like cubert it totally looks like

1:11:39 foundational building blocks and then we

1:11:44 customers are going to figure out really
1:11:46 creative ways to further refine our
1:11:49 Gemini foundational models and the
1:11:51 potential is almost Limitless
1:11:54 so at Google there's this healthy
1:11:56 disregard for the impossible and that
1:11:59 has oriented us to be both bold and
1:12:01 responsible together as these systems
1:12:04 become more capable all of those
1:12:06 capabilities also raise new questions we
1:12:08 have to think about what it at Google

1:13:39 this but it's still pretty impressive

1:13:44 ESS of it and The Talky bits no sharp
1:13:47 angles or Jagged
1:13:49 edges it looks like a bird to me hm what

1:13:55 the bird is swimming in the water it has
1:13:57 a long neck and Beak it is a duck yes a
1:14:00 duck is a type of Spike Jones I know it
1:14:03 was a fake promo I just said
1:14:06 that but it it doesn't mean it's fake it

1:14:12 what it's doing is how it interpreted

1:21:33 interface so it created this interface
1:21:37 this interactive interface with
1:21:39 scrolling boxes and you know images that
1:21:42 it
1:21:43 generated and it it created the
1:21:45 interface so Dynamic application
1:21:49 development based on your
1:21:51 request now is this going to be there on
1:21:55 Wednesday I'm guessing not because this
1:21:58 feels to me like a different what's that
