3:35 go in there as as a backup I'll go in
3:39 his his backup
3:42 guitar oh the Rhythm
3:44 [Laughter]
3:48 Section all right um I don't know if
3:52 anything interesting happened
3:58 today my my one of my board director I
4:02 saw one of my
4:04 board board directors
4:07 tonight a fine fine fella named
4:11 V and V works for the
4:14 goog and I saw him and I was like dude
4:18 what the
4:20 [ __ ] how is Gemini Ultra that
4:27 bad it just it sounds like that have a
4:33 cultural I don't even know how to
4:35 describe it it's like calcification over
4:40 there and
4:44 uh like like I think that these
4:48 generative AI tools because they're
4:50 because they're a balance of Art and
4:54 Technology I believe now more than ever
4:58 as evidenced by this and I'll talk talk
5:00 about that bear in particular which you
5:03 know in a little teeny window it doesn't
5:04 look too bad but wait till you'll
5:07 see what I compare it to thank you
5:10 Danielle for doing that by the
5:12 way because it's I think it's a really
5:15 good
5:18 uh I don't know it's a good
5:20 demonstration of just something is a
5:23 Miss with Google products and and you
5:25 know what it is the people
5:28 part it's like soilent green soilent
5:32 green is
5:33 people the people are missing the
5:35 humanity is missing from Google's
5:39 products the fact that I as a paying
5:42 member of
5:44 Google am told in a generic popup box
5:50 that either I'm in a country that's not
5:52 supported or I have an account type
5:55 that's not
5:56 supported they couldn't take the time to
6:00 program
6:01 in oh you've got a Google workg group
6:05 account you pay us this much a month
6:08 you're at this level of subscription
6:10 level because of that you have to set
6:13 special permissions in your account let
6:15 me take you
6:16 there or let me give you the link to
6:19 send your to your administrator or
6:21 better yet I'll send it to your
6:22 administrator and say one of your users
6:24 is trying to use our fancy new AI tools
6:26 would you like to let them do
6:28 that
6:33 how is that not being thought
6:35 about it's the
6:38 behavior of a company that's that's had
6:41 a an effective Monopoly for 15 years
6:44 that's exactly what that is we don't
6:46 need to worry about our customers they
6:48 don't matter they'll C keep clicking on
6:51 [ __ ] it's okay keep engineering keep
6:54 making features keep making
6:57 technology oh AI open AI is kicking our
7:01 ass well we invented the [ __ ] go make
7:07 technology what they're prioritizing is
7:10 launch
7:12 dates and not quality of
7:16 product it's amazing anyway if you don't
7:19 know what I'm talking about Gemini Ultra
7:21 launched today from Google the long
7:23 awaited super powerful version of
7:28 um of what used to be barred and is now
7:31 called Gemini which I think that's a
7:33 good
7:35 move but boy is that a stinky piece of
7:37 [ __ ] it is just a stinky
7:41 nasty smear on your sneaker right before
7:44 you walk into the party piece of [ __ ]
7:47 exactly like like Huey Lewis in the news
7:50 is playing live at this party in your
7:53 honor and right before you step into the
7:55 party you slide through some gooey [ __ ]
7:59 but you have to go into the the party
8:00 cuz they know you just walked up to the
8:04 door that's my metaphor for Gemini
8:12 Ultra and you know it's funny like I
8:14 thought I might be disappointed but I
8:16 didn't I I honest to God I did not think
8:19 it would be like it's bad like it's it's
8:23 like it's not
8:26 usable the quality of the images is bad
8:29 but like 2/3 of the time it doesn't
8:33 think it can make images so it it does
8:35 like a flowery description of an image I
8:37 had it it it recommended I use Del once
8:42 I tried to get it to make a logo it told
8:44 me to go to
8:47 canva and and use it but Kyle don't
8:52 don't we say it's all janky right now
8:54 and will'll get
8:55 better yeah Dr bod absolutely and If
8:59 This Were were Google's first
9:02 product yeah I would agree with you if
9:04 this was Google's second product I would
9:07 agree with
9:08 you this is their third or fourth swing
9:12 at the
9:14 bat they they made this huge Splash in
9:20 December that Gemini Ultra is as good or
9:23 better than chat gp4 according to all of
9:26 these
9:27 benchmarks scientific
9:31 benchmarks and then when they were about
9:34 to launch it they found out it wasn't
9:36 good in other languages so they delayed
9:38 the launch for two
9:41 months and it's still only available in
9:44 English they're still not doing foreign
9:46 languages because apparently it's so bad
9:48 at
9:50 that and honest to God it's like did did
9:53 anyone [ __ ] test this
9:57 thing like at one point I asked it to
10:00 find YouTube links and it said it
10:01 couldn't and then it said it could they
10:03 own [ __ ] YouTube If it should be able
10:06 to do one thing well it's like slay
10:09 being able to search YouTube
10:12 content and it can sort of do it but
10:14 sort of not and like sometimes it does
10:17 and sometimes it doesn't and sometimes
10:18 it makes images and sometimes it
10:22 doesn't and when it actually does what
10:24 it's supposed to do it's
10:26 decent like it's I haven't I like I've
10:29 only I've only played with it for a
10:31 total of about an hour so I don't know
10:33 if it's as good or better or as good or
10:36 equal to or just slightly lower than
10:38 chat gp4 in terms of its
10:40 quality but like just in terms of its
10:43 consistency as a
10:46 product like it's
10:49 bad
10:50 complacency yeah
10:53 exactly like it it it honest to God what
10:56 it feels like there is not at Google
10:59 right now is someone going a Steve Jobs
11:03 [ __ ] going no it's got to be
11:07 good it randomly started giving me
11:10 Chinese mid response today exactly I my
11:14 Twitter feed right now is when I go look
11:18 at my generative AI stuff I must have
11:19 followed someone that I I can't get it
11:23 to knock give me Chinese tweets I'm like
11:26 okay I guess I could go translate them
11:28 but it's like it's like 10 in a row all
11:30 the time I get like batches of them I
11:32 don't know what the [ __ ] going
11:34 on um but anyway look AI Salon
11:41 merch we added a new value to the salon
11:45 today also thanks to Danielle inspired
11:47 by her and so she she gets Gemini bear
11:51 today and she got a value added to the
11:53 salon by the way don't think you're all
11:55 going to get be adding values to the
11:58 salon it it was one that that in
12:00 hindsight I think was
12:02 missing and she pointed it out and I was
12:04 like well let's [ __ ] add it so I'll
12:07 talk to you about that in a bit um okay
12:10 if you don't know what the [ __ ] I'm
12:12 talking about welcome my name's Kyle
12:13 Shannon some people refer to this as uh
12:16 chat add sometimes chat
12:19 TMZ sometimes just what is that old man
12:22 talking
12:26 about does he even know how to use techn
12:31 ology why am I still watching this two
12:33 hours later all of those are what this
12:36 has been called and this is that and so
12:39 we'll talk about generative AI stuff if
12:41 you have uh questions about AI pop them
12:43 in the comments below if you want to
12:45 know why it's a big deal pop them in the
12:47 comments below if you want to know
12:50 why
12:53 um this shit's so weird right now and
12:56 like it like it's somewhere between the
12:59 most profoundly powerful Tech you've
13:01 ever had your hands on and is this even
13:08 usable I can talk a little bit about
13:11 that I can talk about my little party I
13:13 went to
13:16 tonight I had a they had
13:21 a um not a Manhattan an oldfashioned
13:25 made with burnt marshmallow lure or
13:29 something something like that or toasted
13:30 marshmallow
13:31 lure and I was like uh give me just half
13:35 of the toasted marshmallow lure it was
13:37 it was a bad
13:39 call like like an old Fashion's already
13:42 [ __ ] sweet you don't put more [ __ ]
13:44 sugar in
13:47 it and then I had a Manhattan and that
13:49 was too sweet so I didn't even finish
13:51 the Manhattan
13:52 so I am I am woefully under inebriated
13:57 considering my intent at the party we're
14:01 going to start rating the lives on a
14:02 scale of from chat GPT to Gemini
14:08 Ultra there you
14:12 go yeah it's
14:14 it's you know to the question Dr bod
14:18 about like is it going to get
14:27 better if it's a weird kind of
14:31 bad it's a kind of
14:35 bad that I bet a lot of Engineers will
14:38 look at and say well it's functional so
14:40 it's fine it
14:42 launched you can search stuff in it we
14:44 can run it through these tests and it
14:46 hits these
14:52 benchmarks and where it where it falls
14:55 on its face is like the whole
14:58 experience like the user experience is
15:03 overall like just dramatically worse
15:06 than chat
15:08 gp4 and I was expecting one of two
15:10 things I was expecting it to be as good
15:13 as chat gp4 in its current state
15:18 or it would have some unique new
15:21 interface that was like truly multimodal
15:24 visual something different than just a
15:26 chat chat box
15:29 and it was just a chat box and it
15:32 sucked so so I thought I had tempered my
15:36 expectations on this but I did not
15:37 temper them enough it's bad like I don't
15:41 like I we can we'll go through it I can
15:43 I'll I'll show it we'll we'll go look at
15:45 it but it's a stinky piece of poo I had
15:48 Gemini Ultra kind of
15:52 day I had an okay
15:55 day had an okay day oh except I just
15:58 realized there's something going on in
16:00 our app that's not technically a bug but
16:02 it's horrible user experience and I
16:05 can't believe it made it through testing
16:06 like I don't know how I missed it I must
16:08 have missed a REV of our of our app or
16:11 something like that in
16:14 testing and it's just atrocious I'm like
16:17 [ __ ] not going to deal with that
16:20 tomorrow but other than that the day was
16:22 pretty
16:24 good but
16:27 like I I don't know I don't know it's
16:29 just weird it's just weird weird weird
16:32 weird weird weird weird thank you for
16:34 subscribing Brandon appreciate that as
16:41 always can you try Jan it's an open
16:45 source project that lets you run an AI
16:47 model natively on your PC I will not try
16:50 Jan because hey I don't have a PC B uh
16:55 I'm avoiding the open source world just
16:57 because it is hard enough to keep up
17:00 with the commercial
17:02 World um it's impossible to keep up with
17:05 the commercial
17:06 world and the the open source world as
17:10 exciting as it is it's just like it's
17:12 seriously like you install a model and 3
17:15 Days Later someone comes out with a
17:17 better version of that model and then
17:19 either that model is Obsolete and not
17:21 working anymore because they degraded it
17:23 or just took it down or whatever the
17:25 [ __ ] they
17:26 do or you've got to so you just con
17:28 constantly chasing model updates and
17:31 it's like I don't understand how the
17:33 open source world gets any [ __ ] work
17:35 done it's like all they got to be doing
17:38 is downloading GitHub GitHub reps
17:42 and I don't know spinning [ __ ] up I mean
17:45 if that's your if that's your jam then I
17:47 can see why you do it but I'm not a
17:50 developer
17:51 so yeah what are you going to do yeah
17:55 yeah about that yeah Hey listen Peter
17:58 yeah we're we're going to need you to go
17:59 on ahead and come on in on Saturday yeah
18:04 oh hey and uh one more thing Peter uh
18:08 yeah we're going to need you to go on
18:09 ahead and come on in on Sunday
18:14 too it's the office or office space
18:17 [Laughter]
18:21 ASMR stupid movie quotes ASMR I'll tell
18:24 you what if I started a stupid movie
18:26 quotes ASMR Channel
18:29 I bet I can make some Buck you can make
18:32 money with ch GP have chat GPT write all
18:34 the scripts for me do my stupid voices
18:38 bang boiling in cash thank you very much
18:41 you
18:42 both all right what do you want to do
18:45 tonight people what do you want to do
18:46 let let's figure it out you want to go
18:48 look at the internet or you want to go
18:50 look at the chat GPT I'm a high school
18:53 ticket funnel marketer oh a high ticket
18:56 funnel marketer I was like wait what's a
18:58 high school ticket funnel marketer a
19:00 high ticket funnel marketer how can AI
19:02 help with my landing pages vsls webinars
19:06 and
19:06 emails make fun of Gemini okay I'll keep
19:09 doing that we we'll we'll go in and
19:12 we'll go in and we'll have some Gemini
19:13 fun I listen here's what I will do I
19:16 will try to seriously go in and do work
19:18 on Gemini and then while it falls on its
19:22 face I will make searing fun of it Kyle
19:25 tell the nice people about your roundt
19:27 event this weekend
19:33 what is my Round Table event this
19:35 weekend is that this weekend it's next
19:39 week is that the one with Townsen or am
19:42 I I'm on
19:44 a have I committed to another one I
19:46 forgot about that I just haven't looked
19:49 oh she lead leads AI um yes so an Murphy
19:53 so go to let's let's Gemini it up okay
19:56 we'll Gemini it up um so an do me a
20:00 favor DM me the details of it and then
20:02 I'll talk about it I didn't I forgot
20:05 that was this weekend because Townsen
20:07 put out I'm speaking with the with you
20:10 on a panel with Townsen next week with
20:12 Jim Ross also I thought that's what you
20:14 were talking about but I'm like wait
20:15 that wasn't the weekend so yeah put DM
20:18 me the details on Mighty networks and I
20:21 will um I will chat it up okay let me
20:25 just let me get my my mod Channel up
20:27 here so I can see see if I'm doing
20:30 anything
20:31 dumb well of course you're doing things
20:33 dumb Kyle this is janky GPT oh you know
20:37 what
20:38 this I think this
20:41 iPad's going to need a little restart
20:43 here it does not seem
20:57 happy
21:25 oh Daisy I don't know if you're
21:26 listening Daisy if you're listening we
21:27 love you you're amazing you're [ __ ]
21:31 amazing um yeah so sleep rest do what
21:34 you need to do but know you're
21:37 loved um okay let's see I love the
21:40 winged bear it would make a great shirt
21:44 this gemin [ __ ] in the
21:46 [Laughter]
21:51 woods I was looking for the different
21:53 modes and found the one box to ask
21:55 different questions thoughts I don't
21:56 know what that is poll is up
22:00 all right so the poll what's the
22:03 poll oh what should we do tonight roast
22:05 Gemini so the poll's right there click
22:08 on that thing you have four
22:10 minutes run back to chat GPT perplexity
22:13 AI VR AR philosophical soap boxing
22:19 um okay so you can go you can go poll
22:22 there um know that with these
22:25 polls even if you vote 100% for me to do
22:29 one thing because it's Chad add I might
22:31 not do that thing so just know that your
22:34 professor is a loose cannon all
22:37 right all right I had a feeling Gemini
22:40 would be a flop not expecting much from
22:42 Google anymore rip I you you know what's
22:45 you know I I'm feeling a bit with Google
22:48 right now like um Charlie Brown and and
22:52 Lucy with kicking the
22:56 football like I keep I keep going to
22:59 this place of like their [ __ ] Google
23:02 like they invented this
23:04 [ __ ] they know what they're
23:07 doing and then when I experience it I'm
23:10 like oh well it might be technically
23:14 sound but it is not a product right now
23:18 well is it a product it's not a usable
23:21 product if if you've
23:23 Incorporated chat GPT into your workflow
23:27 especially chat GPT for and especially
23:30 if you're doing anything with do the
23:31 image generation or code
23:34 interpreter like Gemini Ultra you can't
23:38 upload PDFs or um CSV files to my
23:44 knowledge or text files it's pictures
23:47 only so it does it's not doing anything
23:49 like code
23:51 interpreter champ be you
23:55 back it's weird it's weird it's weird
23:58 it's weird it's weird it's weird it's
24:00 weird it's weird it's weird it's weird
24:03 people all right listen listen here's
24:05 what we're going to do I'm going to send
24:08 you all over we're going to talk about
24:10 the AI
24:14 [Music]
24:17 Salon that logo look familiar that's the
24:19 one that's on my
24:21 t-shirt all right so this group this
24:25 organization this community called the
24:28 AI
24:29 Salon is a really amazing group of
24:32 people every time I go in the room it
24:35 just keeps
24:36 buffering are are we getting bad
24:38 buffering here do I need to restart my
24:41 router I might need to go yell at my
24:43 boys give me give me some feedback about
24:46 is is this hanging for a lot of people
24:48 or is it
24:50 okay people are it's fine for me it's
24:53 good no sir no it's okay okay okay cool
24:57 all right fine for me okay fine fine
25:00 fine okay
25:02 good so this group the AI Salon
25:07 is
25:10 is is a group that I started with Leah
25:13 fasten who I just met in person for the
25:15 first
25:18 time
25:22 Tuesday I lost my little
25:25 picture
25:26 and she's
25:29 remarkable and we started this the week
25:31 after chat GPT came out and then we
25:34 moved we we created a webbased version
25:36 of the community that we launched in
25:39 December so we're just like two two and
25:41 a half months into this thing and we've
25:43 already cracked 1 th000 people it's a
25:45 it's an amazing group of people and so
25:48 if you go to the
25:50 salon. that's going to take you to this
25:52 link tree right
25:55 here and you can get merch if you want
25:57 merch and it supports the salon the
25:59 salon doesn't cost anything and you're
26:02 like but what is the salon is that like
26:04 do you guys all go out and get your
26:06 nails done is that who does your ha Kyle
26:08 cuz if that's where you get your hair
26:10 done it doesn't seem like a very good
26:13 Salon um it's like a salon like a turn
26:18 of the
26:18 century intellectual Jam kind of Salon
26:22 not not where you get your hair done
26:24 kind of salon and so when you come here
26:28 if you go to this welcome to the AI
26:31 Salon um it'll tell you all about who we
26:34 are and what we do a community of
26:36 extraordinary adventurers exploring the
26:38 AI unknown so basically we're a group of
26:41 people that are choosing to geek out on
26:43 AI and figure this [ __ ] out and like
26:46 lean into it and make GPT weekends and
26:50 and build [ __ ] and now do pictures and
26:53 now make songs and now make movies and
26:56 just keep throwing [ __ ] at the wall and
26:59 inspiring one
27:01 another and that's who this group
27:06 is ragtag group of Misfits Nero Wells
27:09 and miscreant right cuz who wants to
27:12 hear about AI right now no
27:15 one perplexity and Pi out of 32 votes
27:19 perplexity and
27:21 Pi got the most
27:24 votes that's
27:27 fascinating
27:28 rast Gemini got the next
27:31 amount and then back to
27:34 GPT
27:37 huh all right we we'll dig into
27:39 perplexity and Pie I don't know
27:41 perplexity super well the salon is
27:44 social media for AI junkies yeah there
27:46 you go perfect perfect perfect
27:52 perfect and then when you're on this
27:55 page and you read about who we are and
27:56 what we're about I want you to pay very
27:58 close attention to the values so a lot
28:01 of times when you hear organizations or
28:03 companies talk about values they're kind
28:05 of these Hollow things I talk if those
28:08 of you that come in here every night you
28:10 know this you're like oh my God he's
28:12 talking about the [ __ ] values again I
28:16 am because one of the things I learned
28:18 so so I started a a company called
28:21 agency.com in the mid 90s one of the
28:23 early digital agencies and we ended up
28:25 growing to 2200 people in 5 years was
28:27 [ __ ]
28:29 insanity and one of the things I learned
28:31 in growing agency.com was that no matter
28:35 how many times you think think you had
28:37 said
28:40 something there were people who had
28:43 never heard it had never heard it had
28:45 never taken it
28:48 in and in particular with values when
28:52 you've got you know the AI Salon like
28:56 people are coming from all over the
28:57 world they're coming from every
28:59 profession they're coming
29:01 from deep deep technology backgrounds to
29:05 no technical background at all like can
29:07 barely use a computer but think AI is
29:09 somehow important and now they're
29:11 curious about it or they made images and
29:13 now all of a sudden they want to be an
29:15 artist and it's amazing it's this
29:17 amazing mashup of
29:22 humanity and it's a
29:25 remarkable like I don't know that
29:29 there's a lot of
29:30 communities out there like this
29:32 certainly not in the AI
29:35 space it's just a special group and so I
29:38 want to retain that as we grow and so
29:41 the the values become the the the values
29:43 I'm about to share with you are who this
29:46 group already is this is not what we
29:48 want to be this is who we already
29:51 are and so my request to you I'm going
29:53 to go through these is just keep
29:56 watching and oh my God he's talking
29:58 about values I'm going this is this is
30:00 so boring this sounds like a corporate
30:02 HR event good Lord yeah whatever I want
30:06 you to just you know listen to the
30:08 values and if they resonate with you
30:10 what that means is these are like likely
30:12 your people and if they don't if it
30:14 sounds foreign and weird probably not
30:17 your
30:18 people so first value is curiosity we we
30:22 want people that are curious and
30:23 interested in in figuring this stuff out
30:26 second one is generos
30:28 like as you figure stuff out share what
30:30 you're
30:31 learning share how you did it share the
30:34 prompt or the or the thinking that went
30:37 into it or well I started in mid journey
30:40 and then it gave me this and then I had
30:41 it describe the image and I took the
30:43 description I put that oh okay cool
30:45 that's crazy let me try that oh my God
30:48 that's amazing that's a right that's
30:51 generosity like when you
30:54 join the group introduce yourself that's
30:57 a generous
30:59 act I made a new graphic for this one
31:02 today cuz the word was too small
31:03 exploration we want people that
31:05 are excited to try new
31:08 things not just sitting on the sidelines
31:11 not just like well I learned prompt
31:12 engineering and I'm done
31:14 no get good at prompting and then get
31:17 good at the next thing are you good at
31:19 Real Time images
31:21 yet
31:23 collaboration we want people that are
31:25 willing to reach out and say hey you
31:26 want to do something together
31:28 I'm good at this you're good at project
31:30 management let's put on a
31:31 show inclusion people coming from
31:38 everywhere welcome them
31:43 in and use what is probably the most
31:47 important value the most important skill
31:51 over the next 10 or 20 years
31:53 empathy so much is going to be changing
31:56 so fast that people are going to going
31:57 to be freaked the [ __ ]
31:59 [Applause]
32:01 out so rather than getting all bitter
32:04 and
32:06 angry why don't you find out where
32:07 they're coming from understand why
32:09 they're afraid understand why they're
32:11 angry understand why they think these
32:13 things
32:16 steal ask them what's behind that ask
32:19 them what they're doing is their job
32:20 threatened did they just lose their
32:24 job what's the fear
32:28 and then ask them if they want to see
32:29 something
32:31 cool and then here's the new
32:33 one
32:37 gratitude and I'll read this one because
32:39 this is a new this is a new
32:41 value we believe that gratitude is a
32:44 practice gratitude is not just a feeling
32:47 but an action take the time to
32:49 acknowledge the efforts support and
32:51 successes of the extraordinary people in
32:54 this community especially if someone
32:56 inspires you go out of your way to
32:58 acknowledge them tag them in your posts
33:01 reach out and let them know they made a
33:04 difference which is also an act of
33:07 generosity see gratitude was
33:11 implicitly rolled into these other
33:16 values and what we decided to do was say
33:21 let's not have it be implicit let's have
33:23 it be
33:24 explicit so there's seven values which
33:27 feels like a good number I created a
33:30 children's calendar with coloring pages
33:32 all with AI beautiful lovely and look at
33:36 the name grateful that's
33:38 awesome great name 10 out of 10 on the
33:41 name all right so that's the values of
33:43 the salon so if that sounds cool to you
33:46 you should
33:47 join and how do you join I don't I don't
33:50 know it's mighty Network somewhere you
33:52 probably click on something to create an
33:53 account do
33:56 that and and then start
33:58 exploring um our little server the first
34:01 place I want you to explore go to the
34:03 community section and the very first
34:05 little thing here is introduce yourself
34:07 please go introduce yourself I ask
34:09 people to do this nightly there's like a
34:11 100 people in here every night there's
34:13 128 people right now how do you make
34:16 your graphics all those Graphics were
34:17 made in um Dolly 3 and some of the some
34:22 of the text I did in Photoshop today
34:25 like the Gratitude text I did in
34:26 Photoshop
34:28 I could not for the life of God get it
34:30 to spell gratitude right and I didn't
34:33 feel like photoshopping it so I just was
34:35 like [ __ ] it I just went and made the
34:36 text myself uh most of the other ones
34:39 were just made natively in in
34:41 Dolly and for the most part I don't mind
34:44 typos I think typos are going to be a
34:46 really interesting artifact from this
34:48 era because this time next year there
34:51 will be no typos and images everything
34:52 will be perfect or or close to it so so
34:57 enjoy the typos while we have them but
34:59 if they're going to be the values of the
35:01 organization and someone's coming here
35:02 new I'd like the values to be spelled
35:05 correctly so call call call me a a a
35:09 stickler for
35:15 detail um so so go to the go to the
35:19 community section and introduce yourself
35:22 be generous say hey here's who I am
35:24 here's what I'm up
35:26 to here's where I am with AI I'm excited
35:29 about it I'm scared of it I'm new I'm
35:33 I've been doing it since chat GPT came
35:34 out
35:35 whatever and then you can check out
35:38 water coolers just kind of an open
35:40 discussion um there there's a lot of
35:43 Gemini bashing going on in there show
35:45 show and tell is an area you can show
35:46 and tell there's a news
35:49 area Kyle did you get this too we've
35:52 updated your open AI account instead of
35:55 receiving a bill at the end of the month
35:57 you'll need to purchase
35:59 credits and use the
36:02 API huh that's
36:05 interesting uh I I I don't know if I did
36:08 two hours ago I haven't checked my email
36:10 so it's possible um there's also in the
36:14 community section there's also this
36:15 thing called AI tools and resources I
36:17 updated this today so I personally
36:20 maintain this part of the
36:24 site and it's my renderings have already
36:28 improved in the last month alone with
36:30 regards to typos yeah there there was um
36:34 Dolly got got significantly better about
36:37 a month ago some something shifted about
36:39 a month ago with Dolly text generation
36:42 being better at spelling um hopefully
36:45 that continues like at some point what
36:47 they need to do is generate an image use
36:51 GPT Vision to look at the image and if
36:54 the if the word is missing or if the
36:55 word is misspelled or or words then redo
36:59 the image or do in painting and just
37:02 just redo the part of the image with
37:03 where the words [ __ ] up like it this
37:05 is a solvable problem so they'll they'll
37:07 solve that Gemini is number one now
37:10 right yeah yeah it's number
37:13 one um Bard still the
37:18 best so why I put chat GPT at the top of
37:21 this if you're brand new to AI if you've
37:23 not played with AI and you're like but
37:25 Kyle where do I start Kyle ky ky ky hey
37:28 ky ky ky ky listen hey
37:31 KY
37:33 um start with chat
37:35 GPT it's the
37:39 best is it perfect no none of these
37:42 tools are perfect 0% of these tools are
37:45 anywhere resembling perfect You could
37:48 argue that no software is perfect but
37:50 all AI tools right now are juny pieces
37:52 of
37:54 [ __ ] that's just a fact and that's not
37:58 that's not my opinion that's not Kyle's
38:00 opinion if you go to
38:03 Wikipedia and you look up the entry for
38:06 janky pieces of [ __ ] first first
38:10 definition of janky pieces of [ __ ] all
38:13 gen generative AI tools as of
38:17 February 8th
38:21 2024 it's first entry look it up look it
38:24 up on chat GPT I promise you it's there
38:30 say chat gp4 not chat GPT why it's chat
38:34 gp4 is
38:36 implied um I've got both here so you can
38:40 if you use the free chat GPT that's
38:42 that's
38:43 3.5 um I think that the $20 a month for
38:47 chat GPT plus they call it which is chat
38:50 GPT 4 is the best deal in software like
38:55 the value you get for that 20 bucks is
38:58 insane and I personally think anyone who
39:00 wants to get AI literate right now you
39:02 should get chat GPT plus and you should
39:05 learn all of what it can do people don't
39:07 know what's possible they don't know
39:09 what it can do and it's insane what it
39:11 can
39:12 do it's insane insane insane all right
39:16 so then important large language models
39:18 I added Gemini
39:23 Advanced said Google's Google's language
39:27 model with diverse capabilities now
39:29 powered by G Gemini Ultras 20 bucks a
39:31 month and and you cannot currently
39:33 subscribe with a Google work group
39:35 account that's my bitter commentary in
39:38 there
39:42 um it's worth it's
39:45 worth trying but I honest to God I don't
39:48 think I don't think Gemini Advanced
39:50 right now is worth 20 bucks a month I
39:51 don't work I don't think it's worth five
39:53 bucks a
39:54 month I'm going to keep paying for it
39:56 because it's possible it gets much
39:58 better much faster than we think but I
40:00 just I have low expectations there's
40:03 perplexity there's co-pilot there's pie
40:05 grock llama 2 then there's a whole bunch
40:07 of image generation tools I added one in
40:10 here didn't I no I added one in video no
40:13 oh audio there's video creation tools
40:16 there's music and
40:17 audio I added I don't know if youall
40:20 have seen Splash Pro I think I learned
40:22 about this in the salon someone in the
40:24 salon posted this in Cool Tools or
40:26 something like that add your favorite
40:28 tool um you can model your own singing
40:31 voice and just like sunno it'll create a
40:34 song with vocals but with Splash Pro you
40:38 can have the vocals be your
40:41 singing so Corey Sandler I know I know
40:43 you're a singer whoever's a a singer in
40:45 here um Splash Pro is worth a checkout
40:48 you can do one model for
40:51 free so that's all the that's all the
40:53 new stuff there but that's been updated
40:58 so go check that
41:00 out and then you should also check out
41:02 the guilds so there's all these cool
41:04 guilds which are sub communities within
41:07 within the
41:09 salon um 10 AI 101 art writing business
41:15 um P runs the mechanics Guild about you
41:17 know dealing with all the technical
41:19 stuff health care video education we're
41:23 about to add an Ethics um an ethic
41:27 Guild that I'm really excited about we
41:29 just talked about in the organizers
41:30 meeting
41:32 today and for this channel for the AI
41:36 Irregulars we have our own little play
41:38 box so as you're playing tonight go into
41:41 the AI Irregulars Channel or Club it's
41:45 called it's a club and then you can oh
41:47 that's
41:49 nice gratitude beautiful image who's
41:53 that Cory Sandler of course gorgeous AI
41:57 or bus Tim sheffel nice so so as you're
42:00 playing tonight Goole
42:02 exactly now with more Transformers
42:05 Gemini
42:07 Ultra that's the Gemini bear oh we got
42:10 okay we got to explain the Gemini bear
42:12 oh this is it this is so good okay I
42:15 know you want to talk about perplexity
42:17 we got to bash Gemini a little bit
42:19 that's beautiful who did
42:22 that Master Alexander nice that's
42:27 gous gous gous gous Gemini Advance was
42:31 two months free for me anyway yeah I got
42:33 two months for free Brandon said he got
42:36 six months for free I don't know I don't
42:37 know who's what connections he's got
42:42 but Gemini bear the the the new uh the
42:46 new sacred animal of the of the AI
42:55 Salon the blue rubber ducky was in their
42:58 uh in their video so chat gpt's lling it
43:02 out who did that joker yeah of course
43:05 that's a good good
43:08 image all right so let's see beautiful
43:11 yeah learning left that's cool so if
43:13 you're if you're generating stuff
43:15 tonight throw it in the regulars channel
43:17 so we can all see each other's stuff you
43:18 can also there's a chat there's a chat
43:20 session in there as well so you can go
43:22 in if you've got questions and you don't
43:24 want to do it in Tik Tok you can go you
43:25 know chat have side conversations over
43:28 there um oh that's beautiful Corey
43:30 beautiful wow nice um okay so let me
43:34 show you let me show you where the where
43:36 the Gemini bear is coming from um let me
43:40 see
43:42 here
43:49 where I'm G to go to show and tell or am
43:52 going to go I think I'll go
43:55 here hang on people hang
44:00 [Music]
44:02 on
44:04 okay
44:06 so Danielle today I I thought this was
44:09 pretty wise what URL are you on now so
44:11 oh the URL I'm on right now is AIS
44:13 salon.
44:15 mn. you can also get there if you go to
44:18 the salon. that'll take you to a link
44:21 tree and you click on the very first
44:22 link at the top of the page that says AI
44:25 Salon Comm community and that will take
44:27 you
44:29 to the the the AI Salon web page the web
44:33 Community it's it's uh sitting on top of
44:36 Mighty networks but that's
44:38 irrelevant this is this is our home AIS
44:41 salon. mn.
44:43 Co okay so I went live this morning at
44:48 like 8 we started playing with this and
44:51 when did when did she post this I think
44:52 she posted it either right before then
44:54 or during during it or some right right
44:56 after it something like that anyway so
44:58 what she did was she said let
45:01 me make some image let me take the same
45:04 prompt and try it in DOI co-pilot Adobe
45:08 Firefly and
45:10 Gemini which I thought great that's
45:12 perfect that's cool so she did her cool
45:16 prompt was like some sort of magical
45:18 bear with magical rainbow crystal wings
45:22 or like it doesn't matter what the
45:23 prompt was but that's Dolly 3 right so
45:26 that's chat GPT beautiful subtle not
45:30 quite photographic like like Dolly tends
45:32 to have an illust illustrative um
45:35 Quality to it but really beautiful
45:38 Reflections in the water the wings are
45:40 really sophisticated with these little
45:41 crystals all over them really nice
45:44 here's um co-pilot right notice it's
45:48 Square because co-pilot can't do um
45:50 landscape images for for for the reason
45:54 the programmers didn't program it that
45:56 way see chat GPT programmers did so you
45:59 can get landscape wide images from them
46:02 so again this is like this this just
46:04 kind of like attention to detail in
46:06 product development Microsoft they're
46:08 just letting it be square
46:10 right so whatever but beautiful like
46:13 nice well done well rendered that's also
46:15 Dolly 3 right the the rendering engine
46:18 for this image is the same as this one
46:21 but what I would argue is that the way
46:24 that chat GPT program Dolly 3 where it
46:27 rewrites your prompts for you and it
46:29 does it in this really sophisticated way
46:31 you get better images right so that's
46:33 probably why that one's better than that
46:34 one then youve got Adobe
46:37 Firefly which is okay Firefly because it
46:41 wasn't trained on copywritten images
46:43 it's just trained on uh public domain
46:45 images and and you know stock images
46:48 that they they have access to it's not
46:50 quite as sophisticated but it's still
46:52 decent right still good and then you
46:55 have Bard or
47:01 Gemini and it just it just looks like a
47:05 sad bear like that was sort of
47:08 watercolor painted but it looks like
47:11 like an angry parent just painted paint
47:14 on on their fur and then like glued sort
47:18 of halfast fairy costume wings right
47:22 into like it's just
47:24 bad and you know and it's not bad on its
47:27 own like if you look at on its own
47:28 you're like okay I guess but like if you
47:30 compare it it's the same prompt
47:33 generated
47:35 that and
47:41 that it's painful it's
47:46 painful and then you know listen you
47:48 could argue well not everyone's going to
47:50 do art and this these large language
47:52 models aren't about
47:55 art right and that's exactly what an
47:58 engineer would
48:00 say did it make a bear with rainbow
48:04 fairy wings
48:09 yes is it the same as that if the
48:13 question is is it a bear with rainbow
48:15 fairy wings the answer is
48:19 yes if you've got eyes you see that it's
48:22 a completely different
48:25 thing and this is not ready for prime
48:27 time like this is half as good again as
48:32 as
48:36 Firefly like this is Dolly 2 kind of
48:40 quality
48:42 right not even and so and and I tried to
48:46 get it to make a logo it wouldn't it
48:48 wouldn't make one it just said go to
48:50 canva and make your own I'll describe it
48:53 for you really
48:55 nice so anyway I thought that was pretty
48:58 interesting so that's why people so if
48:59 you want to make your own Gemini bear
49:01 and share share it in the Irregulars The
49:03 Prompt doesn't matter anyone can make
49:04 their own prompt and do what I did yeah
49:07 exactly exactly the pr The Prompt is
49:11 irrelevant I mean and and you know quite
49:13 honestly here you want to you want to if
49:15 you want to know what this prompt was
49:16 watch we'll do we'll do something fun
49:18 I'm going to copy this
49:20 image we'll jump over to chat
49:25 GPT
49:28 I mean chat GPT 4 I'll paste in that
49:31 image I'll say describe this in as much
49:37 detail as
49:41 possible and it
49:42 will and then we can just say now make a
49:45 new image based on that description like
49:48 that that's the thing one of the things
49:49 you don't you may not understand about
49:51 do prompting oh [ __ ] oh give it to
49:55 Gemini oh that's a great idea okay yeah
49:57 let's go do that that's a great
50:00 idea actually it no it's it's a really
50:02 it's a really good idea Brandon because
50:04 because it'll it'll show us
50:07 um it'll it'll show us how how well it
50:10 does the the analysis part but then
50:12 it'll show us you know how well it does
50:13 the image generation part okay uh so
50:16 there's a big long oh it's still
50:18 going what's it saying Fantastical scene
50:21 with a bear that's been given an
50:23 extraordinary pair of wings making it
50:25 appear like a creature from a mythical
50:27 story The Bear is centrally placed the
50:29 wings are large and Majestic spanning
50:31 out of both sides of the bear and are
50:33 reminiscent of a bird or butterfly wings
50:35 with a rich array of colors Hues of pink
50:39 purple blue purple pink and A Touch of
50:42 Green adorned with what seem to be
50:44 bright twinkling stars or possibly
50:46 bioluminescent
50:48 Flora right so so it's just describing
50:50 the [ __ ] out of it so now I'll say make
50:54 an image with
50:57 this
51:01 description uh in wide
51:05 format all right so let's just see how
51:07 it
51:18 does p asking I join and see chat gbt on
51:21 G Gemini Ultra launch day uh i' I've
51:24 been I've been talking a lot about
51:27 Gemini Ultra
51:28 [Laughter]
51:30 Pate uh we'll go play with Gemini Ultra
51:33 we
51:35 will in fact we'll do it after this I
51:38 want to see what this does with the
51:41 image that's pretty pretty pretty
51:44 gorgeous it added some butterflies in
51:46 the scene still got the nice reflection
51:49 Sun breaking over the F
51:54 waterfall
51:56 right you still have a lot of the same
51:57 elements composition's really
52:01 different all right so what I'm going to
52:03 do is I'm
52:06 GNA save this image
52:09 as uh
52:12 Danielle uh
52:15 Dolly wait Dolly 3
52:20 bear to the
52:22 desktop and then I'm going to copy
52:31 this description okay so let's go over
52:35 to let's go over to Gemini Ultra Gemini
52:45 Advanced by the way there's the book I'm
52:47 in along with Cindy
52:50 [ __ ] um where am I going I'm going to
52:54 Gemini .g
53:00 google.com gemina apparently If You
53:03 misspelled
53:06 Gemini doesn't
53:11 work all
53:16 right I got to switch accounts because
53:19 I'm not allowed to use this with my paid
53:22 account from
53:24 Google
53:27 I was giving a lot of [ __ ] today about
53:29 that one that my first post about Gemini
53:32 Ultra was you got to be [ __ ] kidding
53:35 me um okay so what we're going to do
53:39 first is we're going to
53:42 upload the
53:44 image because Gemini Ultra can
53:47 do image recognition and image you know
53:51 it's got Vision so I'm going to say the
53:53 same thing describe
53:56 this in as
54:04 much detail as
54:12 [Music]
54:19 possible sure here's a detailed
54:21 description the image shows a large
54:23 brown bear feathered wings on a rock
54:25 next to waterfall bear is standing on
54:27 its hind legs which it's not has its
54:30 front paws resting on a
54:34 rock how can it be standing on its Hine
54:36 legs and have its front paws resting on
54:38 a rock in front of it or
54:41 whatever I guess the one paw is off the
54:43 ground the waterfall is cascading down
54:45 the cliff here are some additional
54:46 details the bear's fur is dark brown the
54:49 wings are large and feathered they're a
54:51 mix of brown white and
54:54 black
54:59 the Bear's wings are large and feathered
55:02 and a mix of brown white and
55:07 black
55:09 no they're
55:16 not all right um the waterfall is tall
55:19 and narrow made up of several different
55:21 streams of
55:23 water is that right
55:26 yes that's
55:29 right the Rocks around the waterfall
55:31 covered in Moss trees in the background
55:33 are tall and green and they have leaves
55:35 that are starting to turn yellow and
55:37 orange I guess okay so now we're going
55:41 to do the same thing um
55:43 make an image based on that description
55:49 I'm not going to put in wide format
55:51 because I know it can only do Square
55:53 images why would you need anything other
55:55 than
56:03 Square all right so at least it's doing
56:06 it which is
56:24 good
56:50 oh my God oh my
56:54 God I don't even know how did it get the
56:57 these colored because it didn't describe
56:59 it as having colored
57:02 feathers and there's one with no
57:04 feathers
57:07 whatsoever I don't know man I've been
57:10 laughing all
57:14 day honest to God this is like something
57:19 like like if you did a photorealistic
57:21 rendering of something a third grader
57:24 drew that hadn't quite figure out
57:25 proportions yet in
57:28 art
57:30 wow so anyway I mean that's kind of
57:33 that's kind of an
57:35 issue all right so let's try let's try
57:38 now I'm going to try a second experiment
57:40 so I'm going to
57:41 say um now
57:45 I'd like ah
57:49 now I'd like you to
57:53 make um an image based on this
58:01 description I
58:05 accidentally got some extra
58:09 images we'll go back and look at those
58:12 all right so now I'd like you to make an
58:13 image based on this description so I'm
58:15 putting in the description that chat gbt
58:18 made of of the the image in
58:23 question so so this will show like
58:25 if it gets
58:28 closer then that says to me that
58:31 whatever do what whatever chat GPT is
58:35 doing with how they're analyzing images
58:37 yeah this is closer
58:39 actually so so whatever chat gbt is
58:42 doing in
58:44 describing the like that one's actually
58:46 not bad like that's got these Wings have
58:48 a strength to them that feel
58:50 proportionate to the Bear right they're
58:52 a little
58:53 short and you know one's yellow and
58:56 one's Fantastical but
59:00 whatever there it's got the weird you
59:03 know fur
59:08 tainting this looks like a bear this
59:10 looks like a bear at a at a circus he's
59:13 been in a circus for 30 years he's just
59:15 his soul is unbearable his soul is
59:18 totally broken they be keep putting the
59:20 the shiny bedazzled you know necklace on
59:24 him and parade
59:27 around he's like could you just put me
59:30 out of my
59:31 [Laughter]
59:35 misery yeah but I mean that's an
59:38 interesting experiment that's that that
59:40 says that do you know that the chat GPT
59:43 is is doing the word part at least with
59:46 describing images more accurately than
59:53 yield yield
1:00:04 G this is like a teenage son going yeah
1:00:08 you know Dad you know it doesn't just
1:00:10 have to be about brown fur all the time
1:00:12 you know like I killed the parrot I can
1:00:16 wear the
1:00:18 skin
1:00:20 dad that bear has seen some
1:00:24 things
1:00:31 this bear is like yeah I'd like to talk
1:00:33 to Charles Darwin is his name yeah could
1:00:37 could you patch me through quickly
1:00:39 directly
1:00:40 [Laughter]
1:00:45 please
1:00:50 H I don't really take Fantastical things
1:00:53 like this very serious
1:00:56 well I I
1:00:58 mean yeah you might not take it serious
1:01:00 but like there's there's a qualitative
1:01:03 like this is the the quality of these of
1:01:06 these images is not it's not in the same
1:01:10 categor as the other image generation
1:01:12 tools it's just
1:01:13 not it's just not like you know and you
1:01:17 could argue is this a is this a relevant
1:01:19 test maybe from an engineering
1:01:21 standpoint it's
1:01:23 not but from a from from a creative
1:01:25 standpoint absolutely you know will will
1:01:29 someone who's currently using chat
1:01:33 GPT look at this and say oh [ __ ] I can I
1:01:38 can use this or chat GPT absolutely not
1:01:41 in my
1:01:44 opinion which website is this this is
1:01:46 the new Gemini Advanced so it's
1:01:49 gemini.com and then it's the $20 a month
1:01:53 upgrade all right okay Shabba thank you
1:01:58 so much let's see but what's the air
1:02:01 speed velocity what is the average speed
1:02:04 of an unladen
1:02:09 swallow all right let's go in let's
1:02:11 let's do a new chat so so we're in chat
1:02:13 GPT I know people voted for pi and and
1:02:16 perplexity but we we can come back to
1:02:18 them it it is Gemini launch day so let's
1:02:20 let's play around with
1:02:21 it
1:02:23 um
1:02:26 generate an image in a specific style
1:02:28 let's click on that tile and see what it
1:02:34 does oh that's
1:02:40 interesting they kind of make like
1:02:42 little mad libs kind of things here
1:02:44 images of a jungle with a river in a
1:02:47 splashy water color style so we'll say
1:02:51 images of
1:02:53 a rib River
1:02:56 in a
1:03:02 desert in
1:03:06 a
1:03:08 muted pastel
1:03:14 [Laughter]
1:03:23 Style
1:03:26 yeah those those are not
1:03:28 bad again they feel to me kind of like
1:03:31 Dolly 2 did that one's pretty bad that's
1:03:34 like that's like bad art student League
1:03:44 art I I mean I seriously wonder what the
1:03:47 training data is
1:03:49 here because it's possible that that
1:03:52 Google didn't want to you know get in
1:03:55 legal hot water so they did it on you
1:03:58 know kind of Open Source public domain
1:04:00 kind of stuff how about a muscle car in
1:04:03 a warehouse image yeah we can try that I
1:04:05 I tried that before it tends to give so
1:04:08 we we can do that
1:04:11 um a photograph of a 1970s muscle
1:04:17 car in an abandoned
1:04:20 Factory with sunlight streaming Through
1:04:22 the
1:04:23 Windows
1:04:29 through the broken
1:04:30 [Music]
1:04:34 windows make
1:04:38 a last time I did this it didn't quite
1:04:41 understand what a 70s muscle car was it
1:04:43 was more like a 60s
1:04:48 62 which is actually what Firefly did
1:04:51 when I tried this on Firefly those are
1:04:53 not bad those are
1:04:56 those are mostly 70s looking like that's
1:04:58 a challenger front end that's a chevel
1:05:00 front end and kind of a chel this one
1:05:03 kind of looks like a n like an early
1:05:07 60s like a 63 or four whatever
1:05:12 AMC piece of
1:05:17 trash but you know the prompt coherence
1:05:20 is a little weird like this has sunlight
1:05:22 streaming through the broken windows
1:05:26 this one's like on a cloudy day I mean
1:05:28 there's there's Sunshine here but it's
1:05:31 like you don't see it streaming through
1:05:33 so like the prompt coherence here is
1:05:40 weird like it might be streaming through
1:05:42 a window but I would you
1:05:45 know like Okay so let's compare this
1:05:48 let's go over to chat GPT we'll do the
1:05:50 exact same thing let me grab
1:05:53 it grab the exact
1:06:00 prompt go to chat
1:06:07 J and then I'll show you something here
1:06:10 with chat GPT that that I think is one
1:06:13 of the one of the secrets because the
1:06:15 the the core technology
1:06:18 here is very very similar the difference
1:06:21 is in how it's getting prompted and the
1:06:24 difference is is what the training data
1:06:28 is that trains it the basic process of
1:06:32 how it works is pretty similar across
1:06:34 these
1:06:44 [Music]
1:06:53 models
1:06:59 right so there's chat
1:07:00 GPT there's your sunlight streaming
1:07:02 through the window that's definitely a
1:07:04 70s muscle car it's kind of a hybrid
1:07:07 between a Mopar and
1:07:11 a I don't know it's kind of all over the
1:07:13 place with his body lines but you know
1:07:16 it's definitely an abandoned Factory
1:07:18 lights streaming through broken
1:07:21 windows um but here I want to show you
1:07:24 something so if you click on this image
1:07:27 and you go to the upper right hand
1:07:28 corner this is in chat GPT and you click
1:07:30 on the little information button this is
1:07:34 the actual prompt that chat GPT sent to
1:07:36 the image model a photograph depicting a
1:07:40 a classic 1970s muscle car parked inside
1:07:43 an abandoned Factory the car should have
1:07:45 a distinctive retro design with Sleek
1:07:48 lines a shiny chrome bumper and an
1:07:51 iconic look that reflects the era its
1:07:53 era the factory is dilapidated with
1:07:56 crumbling walls rusted machinery and
1:07:58 debris scattered around indicating
1:08:00 long-term neglect sunlight streams
1:08:03 through the large broken windows of a
1:08:05 factory casting dramatic beams of light
1:08:07 and creating contrast of Shadow and
1:08:10 illumination on the car and the factory
1:08:12 floor the atmosphere is nostalgic and
1:08:15 somewhat Eerie Capt right it goes on and
1:08:19 on open
1:08:21 AI took some put real thought
1:08:26 into let's assume that people are going
1:08:29 to give us shitty
1:08:31 prompts and if someone gives us a shitty
1:08:35 prompt
1:08:37 let's fix
1:08:39 it they're not asking you to do that
1:08:42 it's not like prompt magic or prompt it
1:08:46 just does it they just stick it in the
1:08:47 background and it tends to create highly
1:08:51 coherent images and and images that tend
1:08:55 to be better than what you expected now
1:08:58 if you if you teach yourself mid journey
1:09:00 and you teach yourself all the prompting
1:09:01 with mid Journey mid Journey from an
1:09:03 aesthetic standpoint kicks the [ __ ] out
1:09:05 of
1:09:07 do but it doesn't quite have this sense
1:09:10 of magic where you put in minimal [ __ ]
1:09:13 and you get back something more than
1:09:17 that it can like mid don't get me wrong
1:09:20 mid Journey just
1:09:22 consistently is is better than anything
1:09:24 out there in terms of image
1:09:28 sophistication like Dolly images all
1:09:30 have a DOL about them which is kind of a
1:09:32 dullness a flatness a an illustrative
1:09:35 feel even the photographs kind of feel
1:09:38 illustrative but this is good someone
1:09:41 said try this try this prompt over
1:09:44 in in
1:09:47 uh Gemini so let's go try try
1:09:53 that
1:09:56 [Music]
1:09:58 oh by the way back to the chat gbt
1:10:03 one I did not ask it for a wide image it
1:10:07 made the wide
1:10:09 image I don't know why it did that like
1:10:11 I don't know how it decides if it's
1:10:12 going to go wide or Square or tall but
1:10:15 that's pretty
1:10:21 interesting yeah it didn't it doesn't
1:10:23 say anywhere in here that should be wide
1:10:26 format image should be composed to
1:10:29 reflect the realistic setting I mean
1:10:32 this image should absolutely be in wide
1:10:34 format it shouldn't be square and it
1:10:35 shouldn't be
1:10:38 tall so it got that right
1:10:41 somehow yeah so so there you go this is
1:10:46 better right it it at least has the the
1:10:49 light you know streaming in in through
1:10:51 the
1:10:53 windows this is some weird freaky
1:10:59 ass yeah these These are these cars are
1:11:03 just
1:11:04 janky janky ass cars that don't really
1:11:07 resemble
1:11:10 much but they at least they at least
1:11:12 look of the era right might be a few
1:11:15 years
1:11:19 off crazy all
1:11:22 right so that was making images let's go
1:11:25 new
1:11:26 chat help me with HTML CSS and
1:11:29 JavaScript it's good at that the one
1:11:31 thing that I noticed that was nice was
1:11:34 oh oh we'll do this so
1:11:37 okay have you compared the actual llm
1:11:41 part already not tonight I did I did
1:11:43 earlier today Pate I went I went live at
1:11:45 like 8 o00 this morning it was it was
1:11:48 pretty
1:11:49 good the the the large language model
1:11:52 part was pretty good but what I noticed
1:11:55 is that it would sometimes get confused
1:11:58 and not be able to reference [ __ ] that
1:12:01 it just wrote like it would sometimes
1:12:02 lose its context which I thought was
1:12:06 strange
1:12:08 um let's see I have
1:12:10 an create a slider
1:12:14 okay so this is their their example I
1:12:17 have an index.html file a style CSS file
1:12:20 and a Javascript file create a slider
1:12:23 for me that will display
1:12:24 images the slider will have Arrow
1:12:27 controls so there's
1:12:29 HTML use code with caution learn
1:12:34 more
1:12:38 explanation
1:12:46 sources one thing I noticed earlier is
1:12:48 when it when it wrote it wrote code for
1:12:51 something it said this code can be run
1:12:53 in replic
1:12:54 and it actually gave the link over to
1:12:56 repet which I thought was was pretty
1:13:00 slick but then because I'm logged into
1:13:03 my old gmail account I had I had to
1:13:07 switch I had to switch accounts to log
1:13:10 into repet and it just reminded me how
1:13:12 much it pissed me off that I couldn't
1:13:14 use my regular um G Google account so
1:13:19 I'm just I'm lazy this is the other
1:13:22 thing people are [ __ ] lazy right so
1:13:25 so if you're like well all you have to
1:13:26 do is click in this and sign in this and
1:13:28 do this and do this oh the other thing
1:13:30 that I thought was interesting about
1:13:31 Gemini it like right up front it says
1:13:34 your conversations are processed by
1:13:36 human reviewers to improve the
1:13:38 Technologies powering Gemini apps don't
1:13:40 enter anything you wouldn't want
1:13:42 reviewed or used that's like a really
1:13:45 explicit that's not like we're going to
1:13:47 take your data and toss it
1:13:50 in like a refining model or or you know
1:13:53 like a f tuning model this like people
1:13:55 are going to look at your [ __ ] so don't
1:13:58 put anything in here if you don't want
1:14:00 people looking at your [ __ ] I that feels
1:14:04 curious to
1:14:05 me um okay I did this one earlier so one
1:14:09 of their four examples here is create a
1:14:12 CSS color palette from an image so it
1:14:16 says
1:14:17 upload upload an
1:14:20 image so let's
1:14:22 upload
1:14:26 let me get an image here
1:14:35 no well that was the image this is the
1:14:40 image yeah this is the image I did today
1:14:43 and it it got these colors so wrong
1:14:46 let's try it again all right so create a
1:14:50 CSS color palette for this
1:14:52 image
1:14:54 so it's looking at the
1:15:02 image Kyle Kyle Kyle did you tell the
1:15:04 nice
1:15:06 people thank you mods for
1:15:10 pinning did I tell the nice people about
1:15:13 the she leads AI event this weekend I
1:15:15 haven't
1:15:17 yet light gray color lo used for the
1:15:19 book background this is the black color
1:15:22 used for the text
1:15:24 and the border around the
1:15:27 image dark gray light gray and
1:15:36 blue there's no light gray in
1:15:41 that the black color used for text it's
1:15:46 all white
1:15:49 text the dark gray color used for the
1:15:52 drop shadow behind the T text there's no
1:15:54 drop shadow behind the
1:15:56 text the light gray color used for the
1:15:59 author names and the ISBN number the
1:16:02 author names are in white there's no
1:16:04 ISBN
1:16:05 number so like this is not only
1:16:09 hallucinating it's just wrong it's like
1:16:12 not even close and and this is one of
1:16:15 the one of the sample
1:16:20 prompts that they give you to test like
1:16:23 like these aren't rotating in and out
1:16:26 these are the four they give you these
1:16:27 are these are statically programmed in
1:16:29 here and this one doesn't even
1:16:32 work I find it
1:16:36 bizarre how where can I get back to that
1:16:40 thing generate a book cover okay so now
1:16:43 let me see um can
1:16:47 you create an image
1:16:51 with these color
1:16:54 on it
1:16:56 um
1:16:58 labeled
1:17:02 correctly I think I tried to do this
1:17:07 before sure I'd be happy to do that let
1:17:10 me go look
1:17:11 at the she leads AI
1:17:22 thing
1:17:30 I'd be happy to create the image but I
1:17:32 don't have access to the specific image
1:17:35 you mentioned before to create an image
1:17:38 the best suit you need
1:17:41 um I
1:17:44 want an image of the color
1:17:51 palette you
1:18:12 described
1:18:22 so
1:18:25 is
1:18:27 downloads where is it
1:18:39 desktop all right there's the
1:18:52 image
1:19:03 and there's the color
1:19:05 palette so so like they're not even
1:19:09 close like I I mean I guess some of
1:19:11 those colors in there are close but
1:19:12 there's no dark gray there's no black
1:19:14 there's certainly no red
1:19:16 flower it's like I don't know
1:19:22 man it just it's it's just odd it's odd
1:19:26 odd odd odd odd okay let me since an's
1:19:31 in here and do you want to do you want
1:19:33 to pop up on stage and talk about it if
1:19:35 you're still in
1:19:38 here let me know and we'll pull you up
1:19:41 on stage and you can you can talk about
1:19:50 it come on so Anne Murphy if you don't
1:19:54 know her she's an absolute rock star so
1:19:57 she's
1:19:58 doing the inaugural she leads AI
1:20:02 Roundtable event um featuring inspiring
1:20:05 women leading with their unique
1:20:06 perspectives on stem Tech and AI from
1:20:09 noon noon to two this Saturday noon to
1:20:11 two two Pacific so how you oh no
1:20:16 sleeping
1:20:18 okay wait an I thought we talked about
1:20:21 this there's no sleeping in AI
1:20:24 there's no sleeping in
1:20:32 AI I was networking my ass off I'm I'm
1:20:36 here Peppe I'm about ready to pass the
1:20:39 [ __ ] out I I envy you sleeping um anyway
1:20:43 so if you want to join this how you're
1:20:45 going to get there is oh there's a
1:20:48 bit.ly there's a bitly registration
1:20:50 thing here so bit bit.
1:20:55 lthe Goods
1:20:59 2024 so here let me let me zoom
1:21:04 in on this so screenshot this oh and
1:21:09 then you know what you can do okay you
1:21:11 you can actually do this in Gemini
1:21:14 Advanced if you want I think you can do
1:21:15 this in in Gemini not Advanced
1:21:18 too or you can do this in chat GPT take
1:21:21 a screenshot of this trim out that
1:21:24 little thing and then have chat GPT type
1:21:26 all the details out for
1:21:30 you but but this is going to be a really
1:21:33 cool event it's going to be an amazing
1:21:35 event there's just there's such cool
1:21:37 stuff going on in this in this whole
1:21:39 Community all right so go check out that
1:21:43 event so how you're going to do it
1:21:44 you're going to go to if you want to
1:21:47 join the AI salon and be able to find
1:21:49 this information I just gave it to you
1:21:51 there to screenshot but you can can also
1:21:54 go
1:21:55 to the
1:21:58 salon. all right go
1:22:01 there that's going to take you here to a
1:22:04 link tree and the top link is the link
1:22:08 to the community you can also go check
1:22:09 out the GPT for good event directory so
1:22:13 an and
1:22:14 I because we make good life decisions
1:22:17 decided to do a 24-hour event where she
1:22:19 and I would tag team teaching people how
1:22:22 to make GP s for nonprofits this
1:22:25 community made 150 gpts for nonprofits
1:22:28 custom gpts if you don't know what those
1:22:31 are go click on this directory and check
1:22:34 check them out and then if you want to
1:22:36 watch the the sessions that we taught um
1:22:39 at the bottom of the directory are the
1:22:41 directions for how to make a GPT and
1:22:43 then this third link is the link to the
1:22:45 the videos where we taught people how to
1:22:48 do that stuff but what if you want to
1:22:51 join the salon click on the first link
1:22:53 link and then in the AI
1:22:57 Salon you can find cute pictures of
1:23:00 bears but also go to welcome to the
1:23:03 salon and then read about what we're up
1:23:07 to read
1:23:10 about our
1:23:12 values exploration collaboration
1:23:16 inclusion empathy and hot off depresses
1:23:21 gratitude we just added this
1:23:25 today so we have seven
1:23:28 values We Believe gratitude is a
1:23:30 practice gratitude is not just a feeling
1:23:32 but an
1:23:33 action take the time to acknowledge the
1:23:36 efforts support and successes of the
1:23:39 extraordinary people in this community
1:23:41 that's what Ann's doing this weekend
1:23:42 with this event it's like Beyond
1:23:44 gratitude it's like
1:23:46 celebration like check out these amazing
1:23:48 women in this
1:23:50 community especially if someone inspires
1:23:52 you go out of your way to acknowledge
1:23:54 them tag them in your post reach out to
1:23:57 them and let them know they made a
1:23:59 difference love that one so anyway that
1:24:01 was just added today so so that's what
1:24:04 the salon's all about and then just go
1:24:06 check check things out and if you in the
1:24:08 leand side in the community section
1:24:11 first thing I want you to do is
1:24:13 introduce yourself but you can go look
1:24:14 at all the little different areas there
1:24:16 you can go check out our
1:24:18 guilds and then down under clubs this
1:24:22 one that says weekend GPT jams that's
1:24:25 an's
1:24:26 Club so that's the club where you can
1:24:28 find not just this weekend's information
1:24:31 but every weekend's information you can
1:24:33 also chat with other people that are
1:24:35 hanging out in
1:24:36 there all right Suzanne I heard you met
1:24:40 Leah today did did you you guys hung out
1:24:42 right you went to the went to the to the
1:24:44 art
1:24:46 museum isn't she amazing Isn't that cool
1:24:49 I that that was so cool because we
1:24:51 talked to her in the organizers meeting
1:24:52 she said she was just about to meet you
1:24:54 or she just met you something like that
1:24:57 so that's so
1:25:00 cool all right that's what the salon is
1:25:04 all about and we pronounce it
1:25:08 Salon you can make money
1:25:10 [Applause]
1:25:11 [Laughter]
1:25:15 with I'm getting tired people I'm
1:25:17 getting tired and sleepy tired and
1:25:20 sleepy Gemini bear
1:25:23 [Laughter]
1:25:24 who's your little Gemini
1:25:26 Bear yes we also took a wh oh cool how
1:25:29 was the wh was it was it terrifying
1:25:32 being driven around by a
1:25:35 robot we're going to have to get used to
1:25:37 it we're going to start seeing robots
1:25:39 like we're already start starting to see
1:25:41 people wearing the [ __ ] Apple
1:25:44 goggles did you see te pain today he's
1:25:47 like I'm never taking these things
1:25:51 off I think apple has a hit on their
1:25:53 hands I think they they have they have
1:25:55 cracked the
1:25:57 code if there's if there's if you sort
1:26:00 of averaged out all of the reviews of
1:26:02 the the Apple Vision Pro it's basically
1:26:04 like I'm seeing the future right now I'm
1:26:07 talking to John Knack tomorrow too John
1:26:09 knack's amazing John knck and I worked
1:26:11 together John was an intern at
1:26:13 agency.com
1:26:16 um back in
1:26:20 96 yeah '96 or 97 something like
1:26:25 that and
1:26:28 uh I had him I had I had a whole bunch
1:26:31 of old pictures from my mom salvaged off
1:26:34 a
1:26:36 boat that her her dad had a boat and
1:26:39 these pictures were all [ __ ] up and I
1:26:41 had John Knack scan like 200 200
1:26:44 wrinkled crumpled water stained photos
1:26:48 he never lets me forget it
1:26:50 either and then he went off went on to
1:26:53 become a big shot at he he was Photoshop
1:26:56 product guy for a while and then he went
1:26:57 to Google and did AI stuff there and
1:27:00 then he came back to um Adobe doing AI
1:27:03 stuff
1:27:04 there he's an amazing
1:27:09 guy so much gratitude and celebration I
1:27:12 know Ann it's going to be so nice it's
1:27:14 going to be so good so so definitely so
1:27:17 what's today today's Thursday so you got
1:27:20 tomorrow so tomorrow
1:27:24 at 11:00 a.m. mountain
1:27:26 time um I do LinkedIn
1:27:30 lives so if you go to LinkedIn I'm Kyle
1:27:33 Shannon on LinkedIn you can find me like
1:27:35 my fat face is all over the
1:27:43 place I shouldn't call myself fat
1:27:51 husky
1:27:53 shouldn't be shaming shouldn't be
1:27:54 shaming the double chin just noticing
1:27:59 it but anyway go find me on
1:28:02 LinkedIn and um and come hang out
1:28:05 tomorrow we do do I do AI office hours
1:28:08 from 11 to 12 every
1:28:12 Friday and what's cool about it because
1:28:15 it's LinkedIn it's you know it's a group
1:28:16 of people that are for the most part
1:28:19 just doing like interesting stuff in
1:28:21 business we hang out together
1:28:23 and
1:28:24 it's what what I thought it was going to
1:28:26 be was like you know come ask me
1:28:28 questions about Ai and what it's turned
1:28:29 into is like the same group of people
1:28:31 kind of show up to this thing and it's
1:28:34 kind of just like a like a mastermind
1:28:36 jam session like what are you doing what
1:28:37 are you doing oh that's interesting like
1:28:39 people kind of just
1:28:41 sharing what's working what's not
1:28:43 working what they think is
1:28:45 interesting it's got a really cool flow
1:28:47 to it but then we'd have to go to
1:28:49 LinkedIn I know well I'll be back
1:28:51 tomorrow night so you you don't have to
1:28:53 you don't have to leave the the the warm
1:28:56 cockles of of tick tock we we all love
1:28:59 our tickity talk I wish I could quit
1:29:02 [Laughter]
1:29:06 you I think that's the first time I've
1:29:09 said The warm cockles of Tik Tock which
1:29:12 I think I'm about a syllable or two away
1:29:14 from being permaban from from this
1:29:18 place yo Kyle how are you tonight the
1:29:21 moral of the story I am doing well thank
1:29:23 you Sher bear thank you so much I'm
1:29:25 doing good tonight I'm doing good
1:29:27 tonight I I had a a whiskey and and like
1:29:30 a
1:29:32 third and so I'm getting a little sleepy
1:29:34 cuz I was I was um what do they call it
1:29:40 networking before this and you know how
1:29:42 when you're networking and you're like
1:29:44 hey what's your name that's fantastic
1:29:47 I'm so interested in this thing that I'm
1:29:48 completely not interested in would you
1:29:51 want my card take my card I'll have your
1:29:53 card let's let's get on LinkedIn
1:29:55 together I'll never talk to you again
1:29:58 ever will I no okay good good to meet
1:30:00 you
1:30:02 too
1:30:04 exhausting I'm trying to be more present
1:30:06 at those things though and just actually
1:30:08 talk to people but man they are they are
1:30:12 stressful I want to start my own
1:30:15 club what do you want to start a club
1:30:19 around uh it's possible it's possible
1:30:23 we are
1:30:24 we one of the things we're exploring in
1:30:27 the
1:30:28 salon is the difference between clubs
1:30:31 and guilds and and we want people um
1:30:34 starting
1:30:36 clubs but we we want to make sure that
1:30:38 they're you
1:30:40 know interesting they have a plan all
1:30:42 that sort of stuff guilds are official
1:30:45 AI Salon you know sub communities clubs
1:30:50 you know any anyone who's doing
1:30:51 something that that the salon um you
1:30:55 know can kind of support and get behind
1:30:57 like it like it feels relevant to the
1:30:58 group then then we'll provide that so
1:31:00 just DM me and we can we can talk about
1:31:02 it is it 30 minute goodbye time I think
1:31:05 it is Danielle because I'm just my voice
1:31:07 is getting crispy it's a it's a little
1:31:11 yeah I'm sounding like a you
1:31:13 [Applause]
1:31:16 know I'm good enough I'm smart enough
1:31:19 and dog on it people like me
1:31:26 so yeah so I think it's time to start
1:31:28 start winding down the thing like
1:31:31 interior art
1:31:34 Etc interior design art Etc well there's
1:31:37 a so check out the Art Guild Master
1:31:39 Alexander check out the Art Guild
1:31:41 connect with um Leah faston who runs the
1:31:44 Art Guild um and then also Danielle
1:31:47 who's in here she does um Mad Libs uh
1:31:50 for to give people inspiration to do
1:31:53 image generation and prompting oh let's
1:31:55 go look at um speaking of that let's go
1:31:58 look at the Irregulars Channel see see
1:32:01 if anybody put up any interesting stuff
1:32:03 in
1:32:06 regulars what's this I call it old
1:32:08 people yelling about bare Images Oh Pate
1:32:12 I'm sorry I'm sorry we didn't like your
1:32:15 we we didn't love your Gemini as much as
1:32:17 we thought we would listen I was [ __ ]
1:32:19 pulling for it I wanted it to be kickass
1:32:22 and I I will demo it again tomorrow
1:32:25 because I know we didn't get to the
1:32:26 actual llm part of it but yes that is
1:32:30 totally what what we were doing tonight
1:32:34 uh and frankly all day here's Kyle yeah
1:32:36 that's me that's oh my God that do you
1:32:39 just photoshopped that on my body I wow
1:32:42 amazing because that definitely looks
1:32:46 exactly like what I got going on for
1:32:50 sure beautiful Master Alexander that's
1:32:56 beautiful oh is that a silver fox oh
1:32:58 it's Cory
1:32:59 Sandler
1:33:01 gous what's that got going on I did a
1:33:03 version that's a bit too tight in terms
1:33:06 of the spirals make them more fluid soft
1:33:09 and gentle like
1:33:13 Angelic like Angelic and
1:33:15 wispy but spiral like at the edges
1:33:20 too I just just find it like does it oh
1:33:24 I don't care scrutinize it okay thank
1:33:26 you Pate I don't want to actually hurt
1:33:29 your feelings but but the gem the Gemini
1:33:33 bear wings are just
1:33:36 sad um I still
1:33:40 Marvel I I I wonder how long this
1:33:43 feeling is going to last I still
1:33:45 Marvel that we live in a time in
1:33:49 history where an artist like
1:33:52 Corey can just describe oh that's a bit
1:33:56 too tight in terms of the spirals make
1:33:59 them more fluid and soft and gentle like
1:34:02 Angelic and wispy but spiral like at the
1:34:05 edges too and it [ __ ] does
1:34:08 that I mean does that not blow anyone
1:34:11 else away I I just it's
1:34:14 like every time I see something like
1:34:18 this and then I like I hear the story
1:34:20 behind The Prompt or or just like the
1:34:22 thought process and I was going down
1:34:24 this and then I was going down that and
1:34:26 then I went this way and then I went
1:34:27 that way and then I ended up here it's
1:34:30 like holy
1:34:34 [ __ ] I mean tell me that these
1:34:37 things are not
1:34:40 creative remember how janky dolly was a
1:34:43 few months ago yeah absolutely
1:34:46 absolutely steo and and this is a thing
1:34:50 like you you know Google's going to get
1:34:52 their rash of [ __ ] for for it not living
1:34:55 up to the hype right they were the ones
1:34:56 that put out the video and they're the
1:34:58 ones that that launched this things two
1:35:00 months late or two months later than
1:35:02 they said they would and it doesn't have
1:35:05 any of the interface that they showed
1:35:06 and it it does wait the the cat will hit
1:35:09 the Eastern Seaboard in two days time
1:35:11 yeah it does look like a storm doesn't
1:35:13 it
1:35:16 um but you know they're going to take
1:35:18 that feedback they'll go they'll go
1:35:20 throw some some technology and some
1:35:22 engineers at it and it's going to get
1:35:24 better and better and better I mean this
1:35:26 this really does go back
1:35:29 to Kitty I told you not to not to bite
1:35:32 that plug that one last time this is
1:35:35 this is Kitty's this is Kitty's Heaven
1:35:38 picture Heaven entry
1:35:41 picture from chomping on the chomping on
1:35:44 The Wire the lamp
1:35:48 cord um yeah but at some point you know
1:35:52 these tools all of them are just going
1:35:53 to get better and better and better and
1:35:56 better yeah dolly dolly was was
1:35:59 laughably bad for for some time I didn't
1:36:02 ever use it right it was mid Journey or
1:36:04 stable diffusion and then it just got
1:36:06 better it just got good enough to
1:36:08 use oh that's a gorgeous
1:36:17 one
1:36:20 beautiful beautiful p
1:36:22 you're doing P we we we'll leave it
1:36:25 we'll leave it with Pate with the old
1:36:26 people screaming at the the winged
1:36:32 bear it's so
1:36:36 good oh lordy lordy lordy lordy all
1:36:41 right put that up
1:36:44 there y'all are crazy okay so I'm out of
1:36:47 here um if you want to support the
1:36:49 channel you can subscribe to the lives
1:36:52 that would help you can buy the series
1:36:55 that are in the corner down there the
1:36:56 Ser well it's I only have one I have one
1:36:58 Series right now that's called
1:37:00 underhyped and it's this it's it's a
1:37:02 bunch of videos that I did talking about
1:37:04 how large language models work and why
1:37:06 AI is a big deal and how it compares to
1:37:09 the early days of the web there's a
1:37:10 bunch of stuff in there so check that
1:37:12 out if you're interested in why I
1:37:14 actually think AI is underhyped not
1:37:16 overhyped um follow my channel um I've
1:37:21 been asking for this for the past bunch
1:37:23 of nights and when I go look at at the
1:37:25 end of the night not that many people
1:37:27 have followed my channel
1:37:29 so if you're here and you like this [ __ ]
1:37:32 follow my Channel
1:37:35 people how many likes do we have 14,000
1:37:38 likes that's that's
1:37:39 respectable are you using orbs to stream
1:37:42 in Tik Tok no but I probably oh OBS uh
1:37:46 something something streaming no but I
1:37:48 probably should be I I'm on a Mac so I
1:37:52 know OBS works for it at some point at
1:37:55 some point here in 2024 probably in the
1:37:57 next month or two I'm going to get my
1:38:00 [ __ ] together and we're going to shift
1:38:05 we're we're going to likely shift the
1:38:06 platform that we do AI Salon meetings on
1:38:10 um to be multistreaming and then I'm
1:38:12 going to do something with Tik Tok here
1:38:14 I I think what I might do is do a a
1:38:16 split
1:38:17 evening where I'll I'll start out on Tik
1:38:20 Tok and then I'll take subscribers over
1:38:23 to like a normal streaming platform
1:38:26 where we can look at [ __ ] bigger cuz
1:38:29 it's it's really hard to demo stuff when
1:38:31 I'm on Tik Tok and and and like people
1:38:34 can't see it and there's always [ __ ] in
1:38:35 the way so I'm going to do something
1:38:38 watching from South Africa welcome
1:38:39 welcome welcome so the other way you can
1:38:42 support uh this community is is to join
1:38:45 the community so join the AI salon so if
1:38:47 you go to the
1:38:49 salon. and then when you get to the the
1:38:51 link tree click on the very top link and
1:38:55 that'll take you to the AI Salon
1:38:57 community and check out the welcome to
