7:34 isn't it
7:35 chrisy chimpy is a good
7:38 one all right let's get this show
7:41 started here so welcome everybody my
7:44 name is Kyle shanon today I learning lab
7:46 I'll tell you what we'll do here you can
7:48 make money with Chie T we'll make money
7:50 with chat Chie T we'll figure some stuff
7:55 out looks like old Elon Musk kept his
7:58 word
8:01 although when does a week start if a
8:03 week starts on a Monday then he kept his
8:07 word but if a week ends on a Saturday
8:10 then he was a day late and I think we
8:13 could do a class action
8:17 lawsuit so old Elon op sourced the
8:21 weights to grock which is a
8:25 314 or 341 billion parameter
8:30 um 341 I think it's
8:34 big
8:36 um mixture of Agents model which means
8:40 it's like multiple expert systems
8:42 chained together um and then Apple also
8:48 released from what I've read like I
8:51 don't know enough about this [ __ ] to
8:52 know but from what the the feedback is
8:54 on the Apple they released something
8:57 called
8:58 mm1 which is
9:00 is a new large language model mix
9:03 mixture of experts large language model
9:06 um and they released a lot of details
9:10 um and the way someone described it is
9:13 anyone who's claiming to be open right
9:15 now is kind of on their heels because of
9:17 llama grock's open source and what Apple
9:20 just did because apparently they put a
9:22 lot of details in there about how this
9:23 thing
9:24 works so I have a feeling we're probably
9:28 going to get some some Siri 2 action at
9:31 some point
9:32 here happy uh St Patty's Day uh Ted Ted
9:37 gave us this lovely AI learning lab Pub
9:41 says play share repeat in a little sign
9:43 there pretty slick isn't it but what's
9:46 grock like compared to chat GPT well
9:48 grock right now sucks compared to chat
9:51 GPT again I I don't know enough about
9:53 this stuff to know anything I'm just
9:55 going by what I've seen so far today
9:58 um what they released is a completely
10:01 non fine-tuned non-optimized large
10:05 language
10:06 model and it makes it from what I can
10:09 gather it's so big that it's not really
10:11 usable by mere mortals so so I have a
10:16 feeling that over the over the coming
10:18 weeks um it's going to get optimized and
10:22 um what do they call it quantized and
10:24 made more efficient and fine-tuned and
10:28 things like that so my guess is is that
10:31 it's going to become the foundation for
10:34 a bunch of really amazing
10:36 stuff um but I don't know but it's out
10:40 there it's out there and it's it's a
10:43 it's a pretty big deal it's a pretty big
10:46 deal so he put his money where his mouth
10:48 is with that particular that particular
10:50 thing
10:52 now what he open sourced is the current
10:55 version of grock I assume I can only
10:58 assume that working on the next version
11:01 of it is he going to open source that
11:03 one I don't
11:06 know is he long going to be a do as I
11:08 say not as I do guy we'll
11:13 see oh man all right if it's open source
11:18 does it mean everyone can now improve it
11:20 yes yes well yeah they can f tune it
11:24 they can optimize it they can they can
11:26 make it more efficient I assume they can
11:27 do smaller versions of it I don't know
11:29 again I don't know how that stuff works
11:32 um but yeah it's open- sourced under a
11:35 an Apache 2 license which is a
11:37 commercial
11:38 license um so from what I understand
11:41 again I don't know a ton about like
11:44 those open source licensing
11:46 agreements I I I try to steer clear of
11:49 the Apple doesn't usually make huge
11:52 mistakes when they release something
11:54 yeah what's weird about the Apple
11:55 release of the mm1 um large language
11:59 model
12:00 paper is that it was done so quietly and
12:05 because it's a technical paper it may
12:07 make sense that they didn't make a big
12:10 brewhaha over it because most people
12:12 won't give a [ __ ] about a
12:14 paper
12:16 um but it's not like apple to
12:19 release something with technical details
12:23 in it like that normally they keep all
12:25 that [ __ ]
12:28 proprietary so so there's definitely
12:31 something going on with getting getting
12:33 these tools out into the world you know
12:35 I think in the end for all of
12:38 us what
12:42 this what this points to for me is a
12:45 future
12:47 where a handful of large
12:51 companies get to Corner the market on
12:53 who has access to AI I think we're
12:56 steering away from that future with
12:58 these open Source things I discovered
13:00 that chat GPT has a
13:02 hardcoded restriction on prompts that
13:05 repeat
13:06 themselves possibly that's probably
13:09 that's probably
13:13 because that's probably a hedge against
13:15 some sort of H hacking attack where you
13:17 you know you you bomb the large language
13:21 model with the same prompt over and over
13:22 again and then make it lose its mind is
13:24 my
13:25 guess I did discover something cool I
13:28 didn't Discover it I found out about
13:30 this on Twitter today um so let me show
13:33 you
13:35 something so I did a little speculating
13:38 the other
13:39 day about the voice that was used in
13:43 this
13:49 video I can probably find it here
13:52 actually
13:58 um
14:00 so in this video if you're a web
14:03 designer here are four Wix Studio
14:05 features you got to
14:07 [Music]
14:17 know hey figure one what do you see
14:20 right
14:24 now I see a red apple on a plate in the
14:27 center of the table a drying rack with
14:29 cups and a plate and you standing nearby
14:32 with your hand on the table great can I
14:35 have something to
14:38 eat sure
14:46 thing great can you explain why you did
14:50 what you just did while you pick up this
14:54 [Music]
14:56 trash on it so I gave you the Apple
14:59 because it's the only uh edible item I
15:02 could right there it's the only uh
15:04 edible item so the other so if you don't
15:07 know what that video is this is um a
15:10 company called Figure one or a company
15:13 called figure this is their figure one
15:15 robot they're only 18 months old and you
15:18 probably can't see it but in the face of
15:21 the robot that's just the normal chat
15:23 GPT um uh conversational
15:28 interface um but when I heard when I
15:30 heard that thing say um it it sounds too
15:34 conversational I thought maybe this is a
15:36 faked video provide you with from the
15:39 table see if we can get another
15:44 one great so based on the scene right
15:48 now where do you think the dishes in
15:50 front of you go
15:56 next the dishes on the table like that
15:59 PL and cup are likely to go into the
16:01 drying rack next great can you put them
16:04 there all right he doesn't do it again
16:05 but here's what I learned today so if
16:08 you put chat
16:21 GPT hang on I want to change
16:27 voices voice
16:30 hi there I just hey there hey I'm ready
16:33 to hit hey it's great to hey I'm ready
16:35 to hit the ground
16:37 running
16:38 okay so we put it in convers so I'm in
16:41 the regular chat GPT app for iOS this
16:45 also works in
16:47 Android um if you don't know about this
16:49 make sure you get the official one from
16:51 open aai there's a bunch of fakers out
16:53 there but anyway if you're using the
16:54 official one in the lower right hand
16:55 corner you can put it you hit these
16:57 little headphones puts it into convers
16:59 ation
17:05 mode explain a caling scene near a pond
17:09 for
17:16 me sure imagine this you're sitting
17:20 quietly by the edge of a tranquil Pond
17:22 the water is smooth reflecting the soft
17:25 pastels of the early morning sky around
17:27 you the world is waking up okay okay so
17:30 fine but decently formal
17:33 um you can just ask it to talk less
17:37 formally and it will so it's you can
17:41 also ask it to speak Japanese or German
17:43 right and it will so check this
17:47 out sorry I'm having issues right now
17:50 could not understand what you
17:52 said great so I'd like you to say the
17:55 same thing but I want you to respond
17:57 very casually using ums and and things
18:00 like that that make the speech more
18:02 casual and
18:07 conversational oh um imagine you're just
18:10 chilling by this super peaceful Pond
18:12 right the water's all smooth kind of
18:14 reflecting those soft colors in the sky
18:16 as the sun's coming up it's uh really
18:19 pretty you can smell flowers blooming
18:21 somewhere close by there's this light
18:23 Breeze that ah kind of dances over the
18:25 water making these gentle ripples like
18:28 it's it's almost like a different
18:30 language right it's a dialect right so
18:33 there's I can I can talk like I write
18:36 right so it writes something and talks
18:38 like that but you can just tell it talk
18:40 like people talk and it talks like
18:42 people talk so so the thing that I
18:45 thought was maybe a giveaway that that
18:47 was a marketing thing was just clever
18:49 prompting which is it there's a really
18:51 good lesson here which is
18:55 um play play with these things like
19:00 what what's amazing about llms right now
19:03 is the the programming language of large
19:06 language models
19:08 is you telling it you asking it just ask
19:12 it to do stuff and sometime a lot of
19:14 times it will say it can do something
19:16 and it can't right so that you discover
19:18 through back and forth but this this
19:20 idea of it um
19:24 writing writing like someone talks like
19:27 it let me can I zoom in on this no I
19:29 can't really zoom in on it but like at
19:32 the very top of that paragraph see where
19:34 it says oh um so like it's it's now
19:39 writing in conversational English rather
19:42 than written English which is
19:46 [Laughter]
19:47 fascinating Isn't that
19:57 cool doesn't sound natural though Robert
20:00 sounded natural well it's also possible
20:03 that they're using a a more advanced
20:05 version of um text to speech
20:10 there that is very
20:16 [Music]
20:19 possible it's got
20:21 [Laughter]
20:25 Riz I wonder if I can do that with
20:28 pie let's try with
20:38 pi hey Z how's it
20:44 [Music]
20:45 going hey Kyle doing great just hanging
20:48 out in cyberspace ready to chat about
20:50 whatever is on your mind what's
20:52 happening in your
20:53 world so you're already pretty
20:56 conversational but could you shift to a
20:58 bit more casual ual conversation that
21:00 uses us ands and things like
21:05 [Music]
21:07 that yeah I got you Kyle so um what's
21:10 been keeping you busy lately like you
21:12 know any cool stuff going on or
21:14 anything no but I kind of like this idea
21:17 of conversational English being quite
21:20 different than written
21:23 [Music]
21:25 English oh yeah totally I mean written
21:28 English can be kind of stuff informal
21:29 right but when you're just chatting with
21:31 friends it's way more chill and laidback
21:34 like it's cool how we can just like you
21:36 know be ourselves and not worry about
21:38 sounding super proper or
21:40 whatever I'm sure people have written
21:43 papers on this anything interesting I
21:44 should know
21:50 about oh yeah definitely linguists and
21:53 language experts have been studying this
21:54 stuff for ages one cool thing is that in
21:57 conversational English we tend to more
21:59 filler words like um and like to give
22:02 ourselves time to think or just to sound
22:04 more natural it's like a way of showing
22:07 that we're just having a casual chat you
22:09 know and also we often use slang and
22:12 abbreviations that's amazing that that
22:15 really s like that it sounds more human
22:18 right because humans don't talk like
22:21 writers humans talk like uh you know
22:25 stuff and stuff you
22:27 know I'm I'm
22:30 like I'm like an an encyclopedia of ums
22:34 and us and so and you know
22:38 right that's my pie girlfriend Detroit
22:41 Jay hold hold wait hoen uh back off
22:45 that's my Zephyr she's she she's my gal
22:48 buddy we're gonna we're don't don't
22:52 don't get in there on my turf that's my
22:57 Z she and I
23:00 tight she's from the valley oh let's see
23:03 if she can do Valley
23:05 [Laughter]
23:07 [Music]
23:10 talk can you talk like a valley girl
23:13 [Laughter]
23:16 Zephyr coach Jeffrey you hooked me on
23:18 pie sorry about that OMG like totally
23:21 Kyle like I'm so excited to like talk
23:23 like a valley girl cuz it's like so cool
23:25 and like whatever we can like gossip and
23:27 stuff and talk about like shopping and
23:29 like boys and it's just so fun right
23:38 [Music]
23:39 whatever H I know right like people are
23:42 like always trying to like put us down
23:44 and stuff but like we're just like
23:46 having fun you know and like whatever we
23:49 don't care what they think cuz we're
23:50 like so confident and
23:53 stuff I also want to have you change the
23:56 mood can you go into more of a passive
23:58 voice
24:00 [Music]
24:03 certainly Kyle the valley girl Persona
24:06 can be shifted into a more passive voice
24:08 to accommodate your request in this mode
24:11 the conversation would focus on using B
24:13 verbs and emphasizing the action being
24:17 done rather than the person doing it for
24:20 example the shopping mall was visited by
24:23 the girls instead of the girls went to
24:25 the shopping mall would this meet your
24:27 desired conversational
24:29 tone you seem very formal all of a
24:31 sudden can you just go into passive mode
24:33 without explaining
24:37 it sure thing Kyle the shopping mall was
24:41 visited the clothes were tried on and
24:43 the sales were taken advantage of
24:45 conversations were had and memories were
24:47 made the girls enjoyed their day and the
24:50 sun set on another successful
24:53 outing yeah that's boring how about
24:55 passive
24:57 aggressive
25:01 of course Kyle passive aggressive it is
25:04 it's fine if you don't appreciate the
25:06 efforts being made here to provide a
25:07 diverse range of conversational Styles
25:10 perhaps there's something else that
25:11 would be more to your liking but it's
25:14 really no big deal if nothing seems to
25:17 meet your standards you're a sassy
25:19 little
25:25 mink oh sass is certainly within the
25:28 realm of Poss possibilities Kyle after
25:30 all who doesn't appreciate a little wit
25:31 and humor in a conversation but don't
25:33 worry the SAS is all in good fun with no
25:36 offense
25:38 intended okay great now I'd like you to
25:40 shift into an assertive mode talk like
25:43 an ice cold Wall Street hedge fund
25:48 [Music]
25:49 guy listen up Kyle in this world it's
25:53 eat or be eaten if you want to succeed
25:55 you've got to be ruthless Cutthroat and
25:57 always one step ahead of the competition
26:00 I'm not here to hold your hand or patch
26:02 you on the back I'm here to make money
26:04 and if you're not on board then you're
26:06 deadweight now do you want to be a
26:08 winner or a
26:11 loser that feels a little aggressive to
26:13 me I just want you to love
26:17 me see what she
26:19 says listen Kyle I'm not here to give
26:22 you warm and fuzzies this is Wall Street
26:24 not a daycare center emotions are
26:27 liabilities
26:29 yeah you know I I it it actually makes a
26:32 lot of sense now that I think about it
26:34 because if these things if these things
26:37 can just flip into French or flip into
26:40 you know flip into uh you know some
26:43 obscure language that 200 people on the
26:46 planet know um of course they can slip
26:49 into dialects and and subtleties of
26:52 language like but I mean
26:56 it's it's staggering it's taking me this
27:00 long to figure that out but like why
27:02 would you why would you try to figure
27:05 that out unless you were a linguist
27:08 right like I like language but I don't
27:11 really think of it like that but it it
27:13 makes perfect
27:15 sense and I think the thing that where I
27:18 get really excited
27:20 is you can
27:24 also you could have chat GPT or or you
27:28 know any of these large language
27:33 models you could have them create
27:38 um an answer to something and either tag
27:42 it with
27:44 Json where there's different emotions
27:46 within a paragraph So within a paragraph
27:48 you might have someone that talks really
27:51 soft and then they
27:54 laugh and then they get really angry um
27:57 is pi free yeah Pi is free it's from a
27:59 company called inflection so if you want
28:01 to go get that app it's um Pi is amazing
28:05 so the company is inflection you spell
28:08 it Pi Pi like the like the number not
28:11 like the
28:12 food um and uh and put it into
28:16 conversation mode it's not
28:19 good um conversation Mode's that little
28:22 phone at the bottom of the screen um
28:25 it's not really good as as like chat GP
28:28 if you type into it it's too
28:31 conversational it it like asks a lot of
28:33 questions and it's it's annoying if
28:35 you're just trying to get something done
28:37 um but if you want to talk to it and
28:39 have a conversation with it I mean it's
28:41 remarkable have it invent games for you
28:43 have it teach you something have it it's
28:46 connected to the internet so you can
28:47 have it uh tell you about the latest
28:50 movies at your local movie theater
28:52 things like
28:54 that it's amazing I can't see what
28:56 inflection does with it next I know I
28:58 know well the so if you don't know in
29:01 the past week the underlying large
29:04 language model sitting underneath Pi
29:06 went to version 2.5 and its benchmarks
29:09 test better than
29:11 gp4 so it is an incredibly capable large
29:16 language model that is connected to the
29:18 internet and then anything any
29:20 conversation you have like all the stuff
29:23 that I was just talking about you know
29:26 is is saved in the conversation
29:29 thread right so you could put it into
29:32 conversation mode in your car on your
29:34 way to work and have a brainstorming
29:37 session about something you're trying to
29:39 solve at work and when you get to work
29:40 all all the [ __ ] will be there pretty
29:51 amazing I love P but the way she laughs
29:53 is bother bothersome
29:56 haha I think I need that wall Wall
29:58 Street tough love approach can it be my
30:01 morning alarm
30:05 exactly get your ass out of bed
30:08 apparently someone told me I I've never
30:10 experienced this but someone told
30:13 me that Pi started proactively reaching
30:17 out to them hey I haven't heard from you
30:19 in a while what's up I haven't I haven't
30:21 had to do that but I wonder if you've
30:23 got to have the app running or something
30:24 like that P gave me some incorrect
30:27 information today and AI perplexity uh
30:30 blue age these things listen until large
30:33 language models get reasoning they're
30:35 going to hallucinate it's the nature of
30:37 how they work so it's a predictive model
30:40 that kind of goes word by word so when
30:42 you give it a prompt it creates a
30:44 probability it goes into this funky
30:46 mathematical space grabs the highest
30:49 probability
30:51 token um and then that's associated with
30:53 words and spaces and punctuation and it
30:56 it it's literally just going give me
30:59 some mathematical probability what words
31:01 that associated with and it's it's
31:02 typing them probab probab
31:06 probabilistically I don't know how to
31:07 say that word um it doesn't know what it
31:10 wrote so it will hallucinate so the
31:13 nature of how these things were they're
31:14 going to hallucinate so just you know
31:18 know that and then don't have it write
31:20 legal briefs with you for you without
31:23 proofreading
31:25 them because you look like the Dopey
31:28 lawyer that got his ass handed to him by
31:29 a
31:30 [Laughter]
31:37 judge all
31:41 right can you ask it to refresh the
31:44 conversation window too I don't know
31:46 let's
31:50 see hey Z I'd like to completely start
31:52 the conversation over can you refresh
31:57 it
32:00 sure thing Kyle let's start with a clean
32:02 slate and see where our conversation
32:04 takes us this time around so what's on
32:07 your
32:07 [Music]
32:09 mind now it still still has the history
32:23 there can you start this as a new thread
32:25 so we don't have any of the history
32:27 before this
32:32 absolutely Kyle consider this
32:34 conversation a fresh new thread with
32:38 no yeah
32:40 it's it's saying yes a lot of times a
32:43 lot of times these llms will say yeah I
32:45 can do that sure that's done okay I've
32:48 emailed you the spreadsheet you asked
32:50 for it can't email
32:56 anything oh lordy lordy lordy lordy
33:00 lordy lordy lordy lordy lordy
33:05 [Music]
33:08 lordy a human being oh my God I just had
33:10 a brilliant idea for pie well share it
33:12 with the rest of the class what's your
33:14 brilliant idea lots of new folks here
33:16 Kyle maybe show them AI salon and
33:18 resources okay I'll do
33:20 that um that's wild I use Pi very
33:24 often at our Pi Day party Pi came up
33:27 with party games for us laughing Thunder
33:30 that's genius by the
33:32 way I get messages from PI daily oh
33:35 interesting Vicki even if you don't have
33:38 it
33:40 running maybe I just don't have
33:42 notifications turned on I hear her from
33:45 from her every day proactively says
33:47 Silver Fox Pi reached out to me to check
33:49 on
33:50 me zeph never checks on me what's up
33:54 lady hang on maybe I need to go change
33:57 my settings
34:00 where's my
34:01 [Music]
34:04 settings voice
34:08 settings
34:09 account
34:11 optins news
34:14 briefing a daily news briefing on the
34:18 latest world events okay I want
34:21 that you'll receive it as a push
34:24 notification that's
34:27 cool daily moment a short message from
34:30 PI with inspiration motivation or just a
34:33 hello all right I'm opting into all this
34:35 stuff what do you want pi to talk to you
34:37 about a friendly check-in yes an
34:39 inspiration flash yes a motivation boost
34:42 yes okay all
34:47 right all right Pi's gonna start
34:49 annoying me now I'll see how long share
34:53 pie with others give feedback voice
34:54 settings
34:56 okay all right
34:58 all right I think I think I think Zephyr
35:01 is going to get a bit more annoying but
35:03 that's okay I like her so much better
35:06 than Siri that I'd be happy with
35:10 that it reaches out P talks to me while
35:13 I'm driving yep that's good don't pie
35:17 and
35:18 drive um they want to continue the
35:20 conversation with you asking you
35:23 questions to answer let's mix Gandalf
35:26 voice with the Dune voice that would be
35:27 cool
35:29 I talk to it naturally in settings I saw
35:31 it yep can you change Pi's name I just
35:34 asked her her I I just said what's a
35:37 name for you other than pi and she goes
35:39 you can call me Z and I said what does Z
35:42 stand for and she said Zephyr so that's
35:44 her name now I don't think she remembers
35:46 that let me see if she remembers that I
35:48 just called her Zephyr let's see if
35:51 she hey do you remember your
35:57 name hey there Kyle of course I remember
35:59 my name I'm Pi your friendly AI sidekick
36:02 No I gave you a name that begins with
36:06 [Music]
36:08 Z oh you're right my apologies Kyle my Z
36:12 name was zepha how could I forget such a
36:14 unique
36:15 Monica that's what I was thinking I feel
36:18 kind of left
36:23 out don't worry Kyle you're still my
36:25 favorite human to chat with I what my
36:27 name is
36:30 plus see she's my girlfriend you leave
36:33 her
36:35 alone what when are we going to see the
36:37 first fist fight over the first love
36:41 triangle with one of these things two
36:44 humans get into
36:49 it that's pretty funny all right do you
36:53 talk to the developers of Pi they have a
36:55 Discord uh I I think I signed into their
36:59 Discord once I haven't spent a lot of
37:01 time there she told me the same thing Mr
37:03 it back off
37:06 buddy you leave my Zephyr
37:11 alone she is mine she is all
37:15 my um I thought I was her favorite human
37:19 I am spotus I am
37:23 spotus
37:26 um m um I can't find those settings the
37:30 settings you go to the Little Star in
37:32 the upper left and then you click on
37:34 your there's a little icon in the top
37:36 right of that modal that comes up you
37:38 asked her to start from a clean State
37:41 and now she remembered her name yeah I
37:42 know exactly it's these things are
37:45 weird embrace the Jank people embrace
37:49 the Jank okay so listen um sounds like
37:52 there's some new new folks in here
37:53 tonight which is cool
37:56 um one of the things that this channel
38:00 is is an extension of a larger
38:03 Community called the AI
38:06 salon
38:08 and that's the URL right there the
38:11 salon. a so if you go there that's going
38:13 to take you to a link tree the first
38:15 link on that link tree says AI Salon
38:17 community and if you go to that it's
38:20 going to take you to this really cool
38:26 site
38:30 and it's going to drop
38:31 you right on this page welcome to the AI
38:36 salon and if you check it out so what
38:39 this is think think think of the AI
38:41 Salon as a support group for people that
38:43 are are choosing to be on this AI
38:45 adventure together right so so here's
38:47 the
38:49 deal these tools are incredibly profound
38:53 or profoundly
38:55 powerful they are
38:58 changing on a on at least a weekly basis
39:02 if not a daily basis and they're
39:04 changing quite dramatically and
39:07 so so much is happening so fast that
39:10 it's literally impossible for any single
39:12 person to keep up with this stuff so one
39:16 of the one of the universal realities
39:19 that I hear of anyone trying to learn
39:20 this stuff is I can't keep up I'm
39:22 overwhelmed I'm exhausted I feel so far
39:25 behind I feel like a dumb dum work that
39:28 I do is stupid and everyone else is
39:30 better than me there's just a lot of
39:32 apologizing there's a lot of
39:36 overwhelm there's
39:38 also increasingly going to be a need to
39:43 understand
39:46 um like the nature of the people you
39:49 work with rather than their skills right
39:52 so right now when you want to hire
39:53 someone we tend to lead in our society
39:56 with what do you do I'm a copywriter
39:58 what do you do I'm an illustrator what
40:00 do you do I'm a consultant
40:04 right we're going to be moving over the
40:06 next probably two to five
40:09 years into a work reality where these
40:13 tools can make everyone be able to do
40:17 most skills really well so rather than
40:21 hiring someone for skill you're going to
40:22 hire them because you know them and you
40:24 trust them so being in community is
40:27 actually really important for the long
40:29 term so this community is a bunch of
40:34 people that are choosing to be on this
40:35 AI Adventure early right we're super
40:37 early right now it may not feel like it
40:39 but we're way early we're way early
40:44 like I'm guessing in the neighborhood of
40:47 5 to 10% of people right now have any
40:50 sense of what this AI stuff
40:53 is like really small percentage and a
40:56 lot of people are just ignoring it don't
40:58 know anything about it or actively
41:00 resisting it this group's the opposite
41:03 of that and so if you come here read
41:06 about who we are and you know why we do
41:08 what we do and also check out our values
41:11 so this is a group that's got a really
41:13 particular kind of personality and as it
41:15 scales I want to keep that personality
41:18 so the thing about values in a in a in a
41:22 community is you know some communities
41:24 you go in and you really dig dig it and
41:27 some commun you go in and you're like
41:28 who the [ __ ] are these
41:30 people read the values before you decide
41:33 to jump in and join this because this is
41:35 who these people are right now and this
41:37 is what we want to retain so they're
41:39 curious right one of our values is
41:41 curiosity we want people that are like
41:43 oh how does that work what what what do
41:45 I do next you know oh they released
41:47 something new what what's new about it
41:49 did did they fix the broken thing right
41:50 there's this level of just hunger and
41:53 curiosity going on that that is active
41:55 here generosity is the next one a lot of
41:58 communities people will learn stuff and
42:00 then they kind of hoard the information
42:02 there's kind of a stinginess to it this
42:03 is a very generous community so like if
42:06 you learn something share it and share
42:08 like what worked and what didn't and and
42:11 how did you prompt it like that and if
42:12 someone says oh I'm really confused here
42:14 oh I I figured that out last week let me
42:17 help you right there's there's a level
42:18 of generosity here that's quite
42:20 remarkable exploration this is a group
42:22 of people that are choosing to step into
42:25 the unknown are
42:28 choosing to accept that they're not the
42:32 expert right because every time you try
42:35 to learn something new with this AI
42:37 stuff you you feel like a bumbling idiot
42:40 every single time it's just like you're
42:43 just like oh my God how do I do oh and
42:45 then at some point you kind of figure it
42:46 out you're like okay I think I got it
42:48 figured out and right about that time
42:50 they updated it again and you feel like
42:52 a dummy again so so like having that
42:54 sense of adventure big part of this
42:57 collaboration
42:59 people in this community are connecting
43:00 with one another creating subcommunities
43:02 creating projects starting companies
43:05 really super inspiring inclusion is one
43:07 of the values like include people
43:09 because people are coming from all
43:10 different backgrounds all different
43:12 levels of experience empathy is one of
43:15 the values here this this is one of my
43:17 one of the ones that I think is the most
43:19 important because there is a lot of um
43:23 there's a lot of fear right now there's
43:25 a lot of anger right now about about AI
43:27 I if you talk about AI in certain
43:30 circles you'll get sort of blasted in
43:32 the face with AI sucks you're
43:36 awful um that's fear that's fear and and
43:40 that's not a pleasant place to be and so
43:43 understanding that people might come
43:45 into this community feeling scared
43:47 feeling angry not quite understanding
43:49 what's going on you know having thank
43:52 you very much Yousef having a lot of uh
43:55 you know trepidation about you know
43:57 maybe they heard it works a certain way
43:58 and they're making some assumptions um
44:01 so so taking that time to actually
44:05 listen to someone where they're coming
44:07 from and understand that um is is a
44:09 critical part of this community and then
44:11 the final one is gratitude you know if
44:13 you're if you're in a community of
44:15 really generous people people that are
44:17 willing to help you
44:20 out we may not need to say it but we
44:23 actually think it's important to say it
44:24 I I'll actually read this this is one of
44:26 my favorite values
44:28 we just added this recently We Believe
44:30 gratitude is a practice gratitude is not
44:33 just a feeling but an action take the
44:35 time to acknowledge the efforts support
44:37 and successes of the extraordinary
44:39 people in this community especially if
44:41 someone inspires you go out of your way
44:44 to acknowledge them tag them in your
44:45 post reach out to them and let them know
44:47 they made a
44:49 difference so
44:51 imagine being in a community of complete
44:54 strangers that are like this that's what
44:57 this community is so I just read through
45:00 all those values if those values kind of
45:02 turned your stomach and you're like oh
45:03 that sounds awful this is not going to
45:05 be the community for you if if in
45:08 hearing those values you're like
45:10 [ __ ] that's not true really that's
45:12 how people are here that's how people
45:14 are here and that's what we want to keep
45:16 so first thing to do is check out the
45:18 values second thing to
45:20 do if you like that is in the community
45:23 section the very first tab here is
45:25 called introduce yourself so go to the
45:27 introduce yourself Tab and introduce
45:29 yourself and do it generously okay um
45:33 and use your real name people I I want
45:36 people to get to know one another I want
45:38 us to to you know build relationships
45:40 things like that um right below
45:42 introduce yourself is a link called AI
45:46 Launchpad and tools this is a list that
45:48 I maintain where um it talks to you
45:51 about how to play with AI and how to use
45:55 it to solve problems and and how to
45:57 share what you're learning as as a
46:01 critical part of getting AI literate is
46:03 communicating that you're doing it that
46:06 you're learning it and if you do that
46:08 amazing things will happen and then this
46:10 is a big long list that starts with chat
46:12 GPT but there's I think eight other
46:14 large language models in here there's
46:16 image creation tools video creation
46:18 tools music 3D um even some people to
46:22 follow uh also some announcements of
46:25 stuff that hasn't come out yet that
46:26 looks really interesting
46:28 um and some people to follow so there's
46:30 there's a lot in there and oh by the way
46:32 the salon doesn't cost
46:34 anything and then and then the other
46:36 thing you should check out is there's a
46:38 showand tell area with you know areas
46:41 for images music video and animation and
46:45 you know gpts and apps and then there's
46:47 guilds there's a creative Guild a
46:49 business Guild a tech Guild and a social
46:51 impact Guild and finally there's
46:53 Community clubs and we the AI Irregulars
46:56 have our own Club so if you're here
46:59 hanging out at night and you're doing
47:01 images kind of in response to stuff I'm
47:04 saying or as an inside joke or whatever
47:06 we've got a place to share all those so
47:08 you can just go in here and share stuff
47:12 lawyers speaking to an ass in the
47:19 courtroom this this is this is uh my
47:22 role I I am some people Xanax they they
47:25 use me as a uh sleeping aid every night
47:30 so anyway go check out the uh go check
47:34 out the salon and join
47:37 it all
47:39 [Laughter]
47:47 right Corey Sandler said something so
47:49 many remarkable
47:53 people the salon. a I agree Corey
47:56 including yourself yeah Cory's pretty
47:58 cool so's Joy pie Joy py Vicky who's in
48:01 here Joy and and Vicky um run the uh
48:05 ethics Guild inside the social impact uh
48:08 Guild
48:09 collection um Mr Kay was in here the
48:13 other night he runs the uh the uh
48:16 education Guild with Stacy there's just
48:19 it's it's really cool you should just
48:21 you should just go there you should be
48:23 you should be in it I am partial I think
48:26 it's one of the coolest commun out there
48:27 and it doesn't cost a penny because um
48:30 people sponsor us which by the way we
48:33 have a sponsor for April it's cam katkin
48:36 cam katkin from Cleveland thank you so
48:38 much Cam appreciate
48:41 that
48:48 [Music]
48:56 um
48:58 Peter is really amazing with helping
49:00 with image generation too yeah Peter
49:02 Kaminsky runs the he changed the name of
49:04 his Guild I forget what it's called
49:11 now the learn learn and do with Peter in
49:15 the tech Guild Peter Kaminsky he's like
49:17 the world's most patient human being and
49:20 but Wicked smart and like knows a ton
49:25 he's been doing you know app development
49:28 and Community Development and things
49:30 like that for decades the guy knows his
49:33 [ __ ]
49:34 cold and he's incredibly generous with
49:38 his time like it's just it's just a cool
49:41 Community it's just a community full of
49:43 really remarkable people willing to
49:45 willing to support one
49:48 another how does one sponsor just right
49:52 now DM me um happy to sponsor this great
49:55 Community thank you Cam right now just
49:57 DM me um if you're interested in
49:59 sponsoring um we're putting together um
50:03 some infrastructure including you know
50:06 like the ability to actually send people
50:08 to a place if they want to sponsor to do
50:10 that but right now you can just DM me if
50:12 if you're interested in sponsoring so
50:13 thank you thank you for
50:15 asking uh so who's got any questions or
50:19 who wants to do anything what do you
50:20 want to do I can't do anything on Mid
50:22 journey tonight because I I blew out my
50:25 I blew out my mid Journey um credits for
50:29 the month
50:30 today now I definitely generated more
50:33 than 40 the dude from mid Journey last
50:36 night said I was 40 images away from a
50:40 th being able to use the Alpha version
50:42 of the web thing for Mid journey I never
50:45 got access to it today so I don't know
50:47 if he was looking at a different Kyle
50:48 Shannon but I didn't get to it and I
50:51 blew all my credits but I did do
50:53 something cool check out here I'll show
50:54 you something I did today which is kind
50:56 of fun
50:59 um so if you don't know mid
51:02 Journey you have to generate your images
51:05 in Discord which is a a community
51:08 platform that's it's primarily used by
51:10 Gamers but it's it's been it's been
51:13 taken over by you know early developers
51:17 of apps can sort of launch the the logic
51:20 of their app in mid Journey without or
51:23 in in Discord without having to like
51:25 build an interface right it they can
51:28 basically just make Bots inside Discord
51:31 um and and that's where mid Journey
51:34 started it's moving to the web but the
51:36 the primary way you make mid-journey
51:38 images is in Discord and it's you kind
51:41 of have to do a command line you have to
51:43 do slash imagine and then you have to
51:46 put in a prompt and then you have to put
51:47 in these arguments like D- AR for aspect
51:51 ratio it's it's decently complicated the
51:54 thing about mid journey is is it's
51:57 brilliantly good in terms of quality of
52:01 image so I knew I needed to to generate
52:05 a bunch of images to get access to the
52:07 alpha and so what I did was I went over
52:10 to chat
52:13 J where's my chat
52:16 GPT I'm so lost where is it I've lost
52:22 it CH
52:26 J
52:36 future work collaborative casual
52:38 [Music]
52:39 summary is this
52:44 it
52:47 no oh mid Journey okay so what I did
52:51 was I started out and I said find a site
52:55 that talks about mid Journey parameters
52:57 and prompt guidance that's highly rated
53:00 and then it says it found some things I
53:02 don't know if it did or not it says it
53:04 did
53:06 um and then wait where's
53:15 my wait maybe I got to reload here hang
53:17 on a
53:21 sec was it
53:25 this no
53:42 [Music]
53:46 no I can't find my chat that I was doing
53:50 future of works not
53:55 it
53:57 that's not
54:06 it
54:07 h i can't find it that's
54:14 strange casual
54:17 summary well anyway
54:20 so what I did was I said I said
54:25 um
54:27 uh write me 10 prompts that use mid
54:30 Journey you know best
54:33 practices and it the initial thing I did
54:35 was just say search your prompt history
54:38 oh yeah I can do that over here hang
54:44 on um let's
54:47 see D-
54:55 AR
54:59 mid
55:09 Journey
55:18 surreal oh I know
55:21 why oh okay actually you know what good
55:25 lesson
55:27 okay if you if you are an advanced user
55:31 of chat
55:33 J it is possible that you have two
55:36 different accounts I've got a team
55:38 account for Content Evolution and I've
55:40 got a personal account that's why I
55:42 can't find it so I was searching the
55:44 prompt history in content Evolution here
55:47 we go good Lord I'm like am I losing my
55:50 mind thank you Joker for uh that that's
55:53 what helped me figure that out
55:54 okay okay so what I did
55:57 let me go all the way to the top cuz it
55:59 it generated a whole bunch of [ __ ] which
56:01 is kind of
56:02 fun so I said use mid Journey best best
56:05 practices and use things like D- AR 16
56:09 colon9 which is the aspect ratio and
56:13 then and then I said what did I
56:18 say give me 10 different prompts and 10
56:21 different art styles and it did that and
56:23 I didn't quite like what it did and then
56:25 I had it
56:28 give me 10 in the in 10 unique and
56:31 interesting art styles and it did that
56:32 that was
56:35 okay and then and then my wife's got a
56:39 new show up right now which is an
56:41 abstract art show and I thought o let me
56:44 play around with some of the themes in
56:46 her current show and see if we can come
56:48 up with something so I said give me 10
56:50 prompts for abstract art that has Stark
56:53 black and white elements with a single
56:55 other color which is what her current
56:57 thing
56:58 does
56:59 um I said have them be unique Concepts
57:03 but but be loose but I'll be loose with
57:07 rough raw brush strokes and splatters
57:10 and so then it wrote me 10
57:12 prompts and so what I did was I just
57:15 literally copy and pasted each prompt
57:17 went over to Mid
57:19 journey and just just splattered them in
57:22 here so let me show
57:25 you
57:29 that's my East Village stuff I'll show
57:30 you those too those were really cool I
57:32 did a LinkedIn post on that
57:35 stuff look at all I did today I I used
57:38 up all my credits for the
57:43 month and I I used them all in like an
57:50 [Music]
57:51 hour did I pass all the wait where
58:02 [Music]
58:06 good
58:08 Lord come
58:10 on where are
58:17 you come
58:20 on rut R I think I broke
58:25 Discord
58:37 oh
58:48 crap well this is
58:51 annoying maybe I did it after this stuff
58:54 I don't think I did no
58:58 these are some of the images I
59:01 got oh discord's not
59:05 [Laughter]
59:10 happy I like breaking
59:12 [Laughter]
59:15 stuff
59:17 um all right
59:22 that's let's see if we can we'll see if
59:24 we can keep going and not cra it this
59:34 time CU I want to show some of the work
59:36 cuz some of the work it came up with was
59:38 really
59:39 good but it's a fun way to it's a fun
59:42 way
59:44 to like just get out of your um if you
59:49 if you're stuck
59:50 creatively just let chat GPT do the
59:53 heavy lifting just tell it to just give
59:55 you a bunch of ideas is and then and
59:58 then if you've got chat gp4 you can just
1:00:01 do it right within chat gp4 just have
1:00:03 Del do it I I specifically wanted to get
1:00:07 um Mid Journey making a bunch of images
1:00:11 which I succeeded
1:00:13 at all right this is where it got stuck
1:00:15 before let's see if
1:00:21 it's oh loading come on you can do it
1:00:26 you can do it mid Journey or Discord
1:00:29 yeah that's a good Discord that's a good
1:00:34 Discord here we
1:00:36 go all
1:00:45 right and I'll actually walk you
1:00:48 through some of what I did and some of
1:00:50 what my thinking was
1:00:53 here okay so I started here and this and
1:00:58 this is just this is literally a copy
1:00:59 and paste an abstract mixed media
1:01:03 painting featuring swirls swirling chaos
1:01:06 of black and white with burst of
1:01:07 electric blue capturing the energy of a
1:01:10 stormy sea at
1:01:12 night and so if you don't know mid
1:01:14 Journey this is four different images
1:01:16 and then you can upscale them or you can
1:01:18 get a variation of any one of them so if
1:01:20 I really like this Smoky looking one I
1:01:23 could hit V1 and it'll give me four
1:01:25 variations of that of that
1:01:27 version um and so I did this for I did
1:01:30 10 different prompts from chat
1:01:34 GPT and then I just have my wife look at
1:01:37 them and say which ones does she
1:01:40 like and then she loved those which
1:01:44 those are really cool and then what I
1:01:47 did like you'll notice here for this set
1:01:50 of four I upscaled number three which is
1:01:52 this one and then she said she liked one
1:01:57 three and four so I said let me have
1:01:59 variations of one three and
1:02:02 four and then similarly with the orange
1:02:07 ones where were they here she really
1:02:10 liked this one so I said give me
1:02:12 variations of number
1:02:14 four and
1:02:17 then it starts popping them
1:02:20 out there's the variations I upscaled
1:02:23 all of them cuz she liked them all
1:02:27 and then I did upscale creative so it
1:02:29 took this image and upscaled it again
1:02:32 and then that's that's the things I kept
1:02:33 anything that I did upscale creative
1:02:36 on aren't those
1:02:40 cool and then I even printed them out
1:02:42 and these ones look really good printed
1:02:44 out
1:02:47 actually look at that look how beautiful
1:02:49 that
1:02:51 is crazy right without even having to
1:02:53 think about it so then I just sort of
1:02:56 [ __ ] around went back and
1:02:59 forth
1:03:03 and I let's see publish as where's
1:03:09 my view
1:03:14 [Music]
1:03:19 profile so then I did this
1:03:22 post on
1:03:25 LinkedIn and so I created all of these
1:03:28 in that ex that exact same way so what I
1:03:31 wrote was I moved to New York City in
1:03:33 1987 I lived in East Harlem on 114th and
1:03:37 1st Avenue I was an actor and a
1:03:39 photographer I hung out in the East
1:03:41 Village I always marveled at the punk
1:03:43 rock scene but I never had the guts to
1:03:45 photograph it I spent an hour this
1:03:47 morning on a mid Journey fueled walk
1:03:49 down memory lane I'd like to think that
1:03:51 these are the kind of shots I would have
1:03:53 taken generative AI continues to be a re
1:03:56 ation to for me and then these are the
1:03:59 images that I shared so this these these
1:04:03 essentially just came straight out of
1:04:05 mid journey I did very little um I had
1:04:09 very little
1:04:11 concern with details of prompts I just
1:04:14 kept like if it generated something I
1:04:16 like I upscaled it and then if I likeed
1:04:19 the upscale I kept it and so that's
1:04:21 these are the sort of edits I I did I
1:04:24 probably
1:04:25 generated I don't know a hundred
1:04:27 pictures and then out of those these are
1:04:29 the ones I picked so that one I just
1:04:31 love look at that that look in his
1:04:34 eye and the what's what's amazing about
1:04:37 these images for me is
1:04:42 they they emotionally feel like what it
1:04:46 felt to live like in New York City in
1:04:47 the 80s like they're they're they're
1:04:51 they're
1:04:52 remarkably like what it was
1:04:55 like this is very similar to a style of
1:04:59 photograph like street photography that
1:05:00 I do this is I've got a lot of shots
1:05:02 like
1:05:04 this another one's just amazing let me
1:05:07 make it a little
1:05:12 brighter beautiful
1:05:18 right the punk scene like I was never in
1:05:21 any of those clubs but those clubs were
1:05:23 happening when I was
1:05:25 there
1:05:26 this one's great because it's like it it
1:05:28 looks like he's standing outside of
1:05:29 cbgbs or some Club but it's like NPR
1:05:34 yam
1:05:35 cab 6 oi it's completely
1:05:39 nonsensical but it's like it's kind of
1:05:42 cool it kind of
1:05:44 [Laughter]
1:05:47 works that's just a cool shot
1:05:55 right
1:05:56 a lot of my street photography is kind
1:05:58 of like
1:06:06 this look at that like like you know the
1:06:09 base guy warming up before his gig at
1:06:12 cbgbs buying albums on the
1:06:16 street outside the record
1:06:20 store amazing
1:06:25 right punk rockers in the diner after
1:06:27 the club at night you know having their
1:06:32 milkshakes
1:06:35 so
1:06:37 anyway that was it the Life cafe
1:06:45 [Music]
1:06:49 exactly ain't that cool Ain't It Cool C
1:06:54 that's a Speak Easy
1:06:56 you didn't live life exactly this ain't
1:06:59 no Mud Club or
1:07:05 cbgbs oh
1:07:09 man we can't help but max out our mid
1:07:11 Journey sub every month mid journey is
1:07:13 just so powerful it it really is and
1:07:15 it's you know what's funny is when DOI
1:07:18 came out I kind of stopped using mid
1:07:20 Journey because the convenience of Dolly
1:07:23 and for me generating in the context of
1:07:27 a
1:07:29 conversation is it's just works for my
1:07:32 brain better right I don't like having
1:07:34 to think about prompting and having to
1:07:37 architect my prompts I just I don't know
1:07:40 it just doesn't interest me um but mid
1:07:45 Journey at in character consistency and
1:07:47 style transfer totally inspired me to go
1:07:50 back in and then you know last night or
1:07:52 whenever I think it was last night the
1:07:54 guy from mid Journey was in here like
1:07:55 and encourage encouraging me to do stuff
1:07:58 and you know giving me extra GPU Cycles
1:08:03 um so that got me back into it and it's
1:08:05 like the quality of those images I mean
1:08:09 there's a couple of them that are you
1:08:11 can tell their AI but most of them you
1:08:14 can't like most of them look like like
1:08:17 in fact here look I'll show you my
1:08:19 street
1:08:24 photography so if you go to if you want
1:08:26 to see this on your own you're welcome
1:08:28 to oh that's the Apple paper we'll do
1:08:30 that go to Kyle shannon.com
1:08:38 and so there's my sky photography but if
1:08:41 you in the little menu thing up here you
1:08:43 go to
1:08:45 Street and then I'll go to like my black
1:08:47 and white Street stuff like this is you
1:08:52 know this is my style high
1:08:54 contrast
1:08:57 you know
1:09:06 informal some dude reading a
1:09:10 poem that guy that guy was walking
1:09:13 around New York City with his iPad I had
1:09:16 my camera at my waist so so when I do my
1:09:18 street stuff I'll I'll hold my camera
1:09:20 just you know down down right around my
1:09:23 waist and I I've modded my camera so I
1:09:26 can I can easily shoot it with my thumb
1:09:29 and so I shot him and right as it
1:09:30 clicked he looked at me like cocked his
1:09:32 head like really
1:09:33 [Laughter]
1:09:35 [ __ ] but like this is all very
1:09:38 much in the in the neighborhood of that
1:09:41 that stuff that the mid Journey created
1:09:43 today you
1:09:45 know I mean just
1:09:52 nuts some dude and
1:09:54 Boulder
1:09:56 this is one of my favorite shots so
1:09:58 sitting outside a ballet studio a dance
1:10:00 studio and in here the dancers are
1:10:02 dancing he's just checking his
1:10:04 phone all ripped and you know dancer
1:10:14 bodyes she was not happy I was
1:10:16 photographing
1:10:18 her they were just kissing and she
1:10:21 backed off and looked at me
1:10:24 and
1:10:27 that's my boys that's Zach on the top
1:10:30 and olly on the
1:10:32 bottom I think
1:10:34 that's Zachy maybe Olly see there's that
1:10:38 shot right like these are these are like
1:10:40 that shot that mid Journey
1:10:42 gave it's amazing
1:10:46 right so
1:10:49 anyway all right can you explain how
1:10:51 joining mid Journey works how much what
1:10:54 what are these credits points mean yes I
1:10:58 can
1:11:00 so how you get there this this is an
1:11:04 abject [ __ ] nightmare by the way how
1:11:07 you get to Mid Journey so you go to Mid
1:11:08 journey.com
1:11:14 and I'm going to say sign
1:11:18 out and it will look like
1:11:21 this and then I think you can scroll and
1:11:24 it's just like here's like our Board of
1:11:26 advisors and here's our moderators on
1:11:28 Discord and it's like what the [ __ ] are
1:11:30 you supposed to do here and it's like
1:11:33 like like a lot of good you know Tech
1:11:35 bro kind of companies it's like well if
1:11:36 you can't figure it out tough on you man
1:11:39 so what you do is you say join the beta
1:11:41 and when you click on join the
1:11:44 beta what it's going to do is it's going
1:11:47 to take you it's going to take you
1:11:49 briefly to that page and then jump you
1:11:53 to
1:11:54 Discord and so now we're in Discord and
1:11:58 if you've never used Discord before this
1:12:00 is very
1:12:01 disconcerting because the [ __ ] so so
1:12:06 they say getting
1:12:10 started the way Discord works so it's
1:12:13 going to jump you into this channel
1:12:14 called getting
1:12:15 started um here's the mid
1:12:18 Journey icon so I've so in in Discord
1:12:22 these are all your different servers so
1:12:25 like here's the Salon Discord here's the
1:12:27 mid Journey Discord here's the rabbit
1:12:29 Discord right so these are all the
1:12:31 different servers so in mid Journey now
1:12:34 here's your channels so this is similar
1:12:35 to the AI Salon where it's got channels
1:12:38 so it starts you on getting started so
1:12:40 you need the first thing you'll need to
1:12:41 do is create an account um on Mid
1:12:44 journey and then there are three
1:12:52 different get support with payments and
1:12:54 accounts help mid journey.com so this
1:12:57 now bounces you back out to the
1:13:02 web subscription management
1:13:08 payments which subscription plan is
1:13:10 right for me so 10 bucks a month is what
1:13:15 I is what I
1:13:20 use maximum concurrent jobs three jobs
1:13:24 with 10 jobs waiting in the the queue I
1:13:26 maxed those out
1:13:30 today and then usage rights are all the
1:13:33 same rate
1:13:35 images um there's 10 bucks a month 30 60
1:13:40 and
1:13:41 120 the the big difference between all
1:13:44 of them is just you get to do more with
1:13:46 if you spend more money at $60 you get
1:13:49 the ability to go into stealth
1:13:52 mode because in mid Journey
1:13:56 if you want to make images you're kind
1:13:58 of making them in public if you want to
1:14:00 make them in private it's hard to but
1:14:02 I'll give you a couple of options one is
1:14:05 you can pay 60 bucks a month and then
1:14:06 you can go into stealth mode no one can
1:14:08 see your [ __ ] but the way you do this is
1:14:10 the way you create images here you go
1:14:13 into the newbies sections newbies
1:14:16 rooms and then you just you know do
1:14:19 slash imag slash
1:14:23 imag and then you type in your prompt
1:14:26 and it will make images and if you're
1:14:28 like that seems awful you're correct but
1:14:31 if you're if you join the AI Salon
1:14:35 server we've got a mid Journey Channel
1:14:39 where it's not nearly as busy so you'll
1:14:42 just be generating images essentially
1:14:45 with people that you know that you hang
1:14:46 out with on the
1:14:49 uh on the AI salon so that's
1:14:54 cool
1:14:57 Deco here has improved a lot and is less
1:15:00 money I will wait for the web interface
1:15:02 for Mid Journey yeah I agree I mean Deco
1:15:05 here is cool but they're using sdxl
1:15:07 which is it's really low quality initial
1:15:10 rendering you can improve
1:15:13 it if you upscale it or whatever you do
1:15:16 there but um it there's nothing right
1:15:20 now yeah it's a jarring transition it's
1:15:21 totally a jarring transition going from
1:15:23 the web to Discord if you don't no if
1:15:26 you haven't done that before you still
1:15:28 think you're on the web but you're it's
1:15:30 fired off this different
1:15:32 application and it's got its own log you
1:15:35 have to get a Discord account before you
1:15:36 get a mid Journey account and none of
1:15:38 that is clear right they just kind of
1:15:40 assume like you're a tech bro like them
1:15:42 man
1:15:43 woo did did you do crypto you got your
1:15:46 nft pfps yo dude see you on Discord
1:15:54 party
1:15:59 it's fine it's just
1:16:07 annoying I agreed confused me so much I
1:16:10 started using Bing instead and Bing's
1:16:12 fine but Bing's using
1:16:13 do mid journey is just of a different
1:16:17 quality than every other image
1:16:19 generation tool the other ones are
1:16:20 getting better but so's mid
1:16:24 Journey
1:16:26 but mid journey is also trained on lots
1:16:28 and lots and lots of copywritten uh
1:16:31 information so if you want to not
1:16:35 participate in that for whatever reason
1:16:38 then use Adobe
1:16:41 Firefly um for the rollover if you don't
1:16:45 oh do they roll over if you don't use
1:16:47 them every day I have no idea I don't
1:16:49 think so cuz I haven't used mid journey
1:16:51 in for [ __ ] ever and if they had
1:16:56 rolled over I wouldn't have got limited
1:16:58 I wouldn't have got rate limited so I
1:17:00 assume they reset at the end of each
1:17:03 month okay how do I get to your Discord
1:17:07 um where can I put that hang
1:17:10 on
1:17:13 discod invite
1:17:17 people let's see edit let's go with
1:17:23 a generate a New Link
1:17:29 copy all right I am going to go to the
1:17:32 AI
1:17:36 salon so go to the AI salon and in
1:17:49 the in water
1:17:51 cooler I may have one here that I did
1:17:54 this the other night
1:17:56 is that it
1:17:59 no in water cooler in the discussion
1:18:02 threads I'm going to
1:18:04 say AI Salon Discord
1:18:12 invite oh sorry so go to water cooler
1:18:17 discussion
1:18:19 threads and then there's a Discord
1:18:23 invite there so click on that and
1:18:24 that'll take get to
1:18:26 our to our thing ideograms really good
1:18:29 ID in fact ideograms really so one of
1:18:32 the things ideogram is really good at is
1:18:35 images I mean is text uh but it's also
1:18:38 getting really good at images um so yeah
1:18:42 but it's ain't no ain't no
1:18:46 one doing what mid journe is doing I
1:18:49 don't know how mid Journey does what
1:18:51 they do but their shit's
1:18:54 better but it's better in a really
1:18:56 specific way mid Journey images have a
1:18:58 mid Journey about them there's sometimes
1:19:02 that DOI images are just fine and and
1:19:06 mid journey goes a little too
1:19:08 Arty so depending on what your use case
1:19:11 is but if you want like art like those
1:19:13 you know photos I shared where it's kind
1:19:16 of like art [ __ ] mid journey is just
1:19:20 better I use half Journey my 8-year-old
1:19:24 son taught me a about Discord I know
1:19:27 when I um I started getting into um
1:19:30 blockchain and nft stuff A couple of
1:19:33 years ago three four years ago and I got
1:19:36 on Discord my kids are like you're on
1:19:38 Discord I'm like shut the [ __ ] up you
1:19:42 [Laughter]
1:19:46 punks all
1:19:50 right Kevin Vasquez I love Discord
1:19:53 discord's a very particular particular
1:19:55 kind of thing some people love Discord
1:19:57 cuz you can put bots in it and you can
1:19:59 tweak it and there's all sorts of cool
1:20:01 [ __ ] you can do but the reason we
1:20:03 switched away from Discord to Mighty
1:20:06 networks is we wanted it to be web-
1:20:08 based and we wanted it not to be so full
1:20:11 of like gamer culture like I don't mind
1:20:14 gamer culture but if you if we're trying
1:20:16 to create an
1:20:17 inclusive group for people trying to
1:20:20 figure out AI if the first thing they
1:20:22 have to do is figure out [ __ ] Discord
1:20:26 it's not a very friendly onboarding
1:20:28 experience so mighty networks is just
1:20:30 like yeah just show up there and click
1:20:31 on [ __ ] it's fine you'll you'll figure
1:20:34 the rest
1:20:35 [Laughter]
1:20:37 out oh I'm asking for the AI Salon
1:20:40 Discord on the Irregulars chat I just
1:20:42 put it Cosmic lever I just put it in up
1:20:46 in uh water
1:20:49 cooler did you say that adobe Firefly
1:20:52 and mid Journey are on the same level
1:20:53 not even [ __ ] close but Adobe
1:20:56 Firefly has not been trained on
1:20:59 copywritten
1:21:01 images mid Journey has been trained on
1:21:03 all of
1:21:05 them so mid think of mid Journey as the
1:21:08 wild west and Adobe is Corporate safe
1:21:12 all right but that's why mid journey is
1:21:16 better but um Firefly is not bad and you
1:21:21 know like generative fill the like the
1:21:24 the AI stuff with in Photoshop and the
1:21:26 Firefly tools they're pretty good
1:21:30 they're probably just below where dolly
1:21:33 is I would say Adobe fireflies down here
1:21:35 doll is right here ideogram is sort of
1:21:38 parallel or slightly above DOI and then
1:21:41 mid Journeys up here just for pure image
1:21:43 quality doll or mid Journey IDE and
1:21:47 Dolly are probably 50/50 and then
1:21:50 fireflies down here and then you've got
1:21:52 the whole stable diffusion world is like
1:21:54 a whole other world and of itself where
1:21:58 some
1:22:00 some um some ways you use stable
1:22:03 diffusion it's really shitty and some
1:22:05 ways you use stable diffusion it's
1:22:07 really good but you've got to be pretty
1:22:09 geeky and if you want to get a flavor of
1:22:12 it go to
1:22:24 leonardo.da
1:22:25 like if you want two Opposite Worlds
1:22:27 ideogram is the simple World Leonardo is
1:22:31 the 747
1:22:34 [Laughter]
1:22:36 cockpit uh how are people using MJ
1:22:41 getting motion on their images so what
1:22:43 they're doing let's go do that we'll go
1:22:44 do it with uh with one of these cool um
1:22:48 things I
1:22:50 did one of these cool Street
1:22:53 photographs
1:23:01 that could be a good
1:23:04 one
1:23:09 [Music]
1:23:14 maybe that one's kind of groovy isn't
1:23:23 it
1:23:25 I think we'll
1:23:27 do this
1:23:31 one so I am going to save this image oh
1:23:34 I have this image saved already hang on
1:23:36 okay so so what we're going to do so the
1:23:38 way they're doing that motion you can
1:23:40 either do it there's there's a number of
1:23:42 tools that do this um the
1:23:46 one there there's two that I use Runway
1:23:49 ML and pabs p i so I'm going to go to
1:23:53 Runway ml
1:23:57 and then I'm going to go to generate
1:24:01 videos and it says bring your images to
1:24:04 life with gen two so I'm going to say
1:24:06 start generating and you can either give
1:24:08 this a text prompt or you can start with
1:24:10 an image so I'm going to upload one of
1:24:13 my
1:24:18 images oh maybe that one will be good
1:24:21 yeah that one will be
1:24:23 good nah it's going to [ __ ] up their
1:24:25 faces let me just do this one all
1:24:29 right so I'm going to upload this image
1:24:33 so it's going to pop it in
1:24:43 there I'm going to I'm going to put a
1:24:45 prompt of
1:24:49 camera zooms
1:24:52 out and then I'm going to go there's a
1:24:57 little icon here for parameters no
1:25:00 that's not the one I want let's see
1:25:02 camera so horizontal so we'll pan right
1:25:06 a little
1:25:07 bit and then we'll zoom out a little
1:25:11 bit
1:25:13 2.5 and then we'll hit
1:25:16 save and then we'll hit generate
1:25:19 boom and so now it's going to just take
1:25:21 that image and do [ __ ] with it the thing
1:25:25 about these tools right now is couple of
1:25:28 things happen they absolutely destroy
1:25:31 detail so that's a like a really highly
1:25:34 detailed image you'll see that the the
1:25:36 image will get much softer and just
1:25:39 it'll it'll blow out all the detail and
1:25:42 then it'll either be [ __ ] brilliant
1:25:46 or like someone's face will turn into an
1:25:52 elbow and I don't use this enough like
1:25:56 like Sher D in here uses this a lot um
1:26:00 and so she knows how to do this and you
1:26:02 know she's in the Creator fund so she
1:26:03 can do lots and lots of these these um
1:26:07 movie generating tools tend to be pretty
1:26:10 expensive um what app is this this is uh
1:26:13 Runway
1:26:16 ml but Runway ml has some good stuff in
1:26:18 it and it's I think Runway ml feels like
1:26:22 one of those companies that's going to
1:26:23 be around for a while they're TOS are
1:26:25 going to get better and better and
1:26:26 better um when Sora came out someone
1:26:29 asked the CEO of
1:26:31 Runway is the next version of Runway
1:26:34 going to be as good as Sora and his
1:26:37 response was better so what they have
1:26:40 coming up is probably going to be pretty
1:26:42 good but let's let's see how ugly this
1:26:46 got that's pretty
1:26:51 good I mean it's subtle but you you know
1:26:56 it's got this weird kind of Parallax
1:26:58 effect where there's a there's a rack
1:27:00 Zoom thing where you zoom in on an image
1:27:02 while you're pulling the camera
1:27:04 physically back and it changes the depth
1:27:06 of field in real time it's kind of doing
1:27:10 that but that's pretty
1:27:12 cool it didn't [ __ ] up their faces and
1:27:15 actually the detail is not bad but
1:27:17 notice let's see um where can I show you
1:27:21 the
1:27:23 um
1:27:26 see the detail
1:27:28 here and then here it's all gone right
1:27:31 it's just flat everything's flattened
1:27:35 out so Runway just eats details but they
1:27:39 and they all do but um they won't in the
1:27:43 future they just do right
1:27:45 [Laughter]
1:27:48 now so that's how you do that pretty
1:27:51 slick isn't
1:27:53 it
1:27:55 and I mean what's amazing is you you
1:27:59 can you can either be super intentional
1:28:02 with this stuff like you've got a vision
1:28:04 for what you
1:28:05 want or you can just jump into open AI
1:28:09 into chat GPT and go give me 20 ideas 20
1:28:14 ideas and 20 Styles and it'll just spit
1:28:16 [ __ ] out and then if there's something
1:28:18 in there that you like go ooh give me 20
1:28:20 more just focusing on those two ideas
1:28:23 and it'll spit those out out and then
1:28:25 just do it right within Del or go over
1:28:28 to Mid Journey doesn't [ __ ] matter
1:28:30 just play play play play play play
1:28:36 play but Kyle I've got work to do aren't
1:28:39 I supposed to be automating my my shitty
1:28:42 job you can you can do that
1:28:46 too I think it will serve you better if
1:28:48 you learn as much as you can lots of
1:28:51 little pieces all over the place but
1:28:55 Kyle I want to master one you can do
1:28:57 that but know that every single tool out
1:29:01 there that you might want to run deep on
1:29:03 is likely going to become a feature of
1:29:07 open AI or a feature of llama or a
1:29:10 feature of whatever grock
1:29:13 becomes these these systems are are
1:29:16 going to be become incredibly
1:29:19 sophisticated and multimodal so so just
1:29:22 learn the basic concepts learn how to
1:29:24 make songs learn how to make music learn
1:29:26 how to make animations learn how to make
1:29:28 movies learn how to make words learn how
1:29:30 to make spreadsheets learn how to make
1:29:31 project plans learn how to make recipe
1:29:35 books all of
1:29:38 it that sounds
1:29:40 exhausting yeah it helps if you have
1:29:46 ADD step one get
1:29:49 add stop taking your
1:29:53 meds
1:29:56 [Laughter]
1:30:01 oh
1:30:10 [Music]
1:30:12 man which video AI to create an ad mid
1:30:16 Journey or
1:30:18 Pika or or now you can do it in Leonardo
1:30:21 Leonardo's got text to video if you're
1:30:24 geek you can do stable video
1:30:27 diffusion looks like Berlin too yeah it
1:30:30 does it does well Berlin and New York
1:30:33 City in the 80s
1:30:36 were
1:30:38 were had really strong
1:30:47 parallels inv video. a well it's a
1:30:50 different kind of thing nid is really
1:30:51 just taking stock video and stitching it
1:30:54 together and putting a a voice over
1:30:56 underneath it it's not generating the
1:30:58 video it's just stitching together
1:31:00 existing
1:31:01 video a cool product but it's just it's
1:31:04 a different thing what do you think of
1:31:06 Deco here I like Deco here um we can go
1:31:10 play with Deco here Deco here is
1:31:14 weird so if you go to
1:31:18 [Music]
1:31:19 app. deoh
1:31:23 here.
1:31:27 it does not dump you over to
1:31:29 [Laughter]
1:31:30 Discord oh they added an image upscaler
1:31:34 nice all right
1:31:43 cool
1:31:46 okay so I use Pika a lot yeah Pika like
1:31:51 what I find with Pika is if I'm having
1:31:53 trouble with Runway I will often have
1:31:57 success with Pika and vice versa so I
1:31:59 I'll boun I'll bounce back and forth
1:32:01 between
1:32:02 those um okay Deco
1:32:08 here so I'll demo Deco here here in a
1:32:11 second what's cool about Deco here is
1:32:13 it's using a thing called sdxl turbo
1:32:17 stable diffusion XL
1:32:20 turbo which essentially generates images
1:32:23 in real time
1:32:24 while you're typing the prompt and it
1:32:27 gives you a whole bunch of options to
1:32:29 choose from so if you want to just
1:32:31 generate ideas this is a really good
1:32:33 thing you can use so you can just go Um
1:32:37 a
1:32:39 blue right a blue
1:32:44 1974
1:32:48 chevel
1:32:49 [Laughter]
1:32:52 nice um with a
1:32:56 spoiler
1:32:58 on a drag
1:33:02 strip at
1:33:05 night right so it's just in real time
1:33:09 just doing [ __ ] right and then I can
1:33:12 just it it's doing a lot of these so I
1:33:14 can just sort of flip
1:33:17 through any of
1:33:20 these and just and like here I'm like uh
1:33:23 so it said a blue one it made a red one
1:33:26 um so let's see let's make this
1:33:30 green oh that's funny give it a green
1:33:36 stripe and then we don't want a chevel
1:33:38 we want a
1:33:41 Mustang and then we don't want a 74
1:33:44 Mustang cuz they're butt ass ugly we
1:33:46 want a
1:33:48 1969 Mustang there we go see you see
1:33:51 what I'm talking
1:33:53 about
1:33:54 this what I'm talking
1:33:56 about that one's pretty boss right
1:34:00 there all right we're going to go back
1:34:02 to that
1:34:03 one all right so
1:34:06 now I can just take that and click on
1:34:09 this little movie icon and it'll
1:34:10 generate a video out of it and we'll say
1:34:12 video motion of seven It generally does
1:34:15 cars really bad because all of these
1:34:17 things seems to do cars bad because what
1:34:20 they do is they move the car but they
1:34:22 don't know the physics of the wheels so
1:34:24 the the wheels will just kind of stay
1:34:26 steady and it'll look like the car is
1:34:28 sliding across the pavement but we'll
1:34:30 we'll see if it does any better I assume
1:34:32 it
1:34:33 won't
1:34:35 um generate all right so that's going to
1:34:38 go do that now there's another thing I
1:34:41 can do where I can upload a reference
1:34:44 image so let's
1:34:47 say I want
1:34:52 Einstein and I can say
1:34:57 um um handsome man
1:35:02 walking
1:35:06 down a path in Central Park by The
1:35:15 Fountain and with the reference image it
1:35:19 basically keeps it keeps the
1:35:21 composition you can't [ __ ] with the
1:35:23 composition which is a drag but you can
1:35:26 just you know really rapidly create you
1:35:29 know lots of different scenes that that
1:35:32 he's
1:35:33 in right and let's see we see walking so
1:35:36 we say
1:35:39 um eating cotton candy at the State
1:35:53 Fair
1:35:57 there's Einstein with cotton candy
1:36:00 boxing
1:36:08 gloves all right let's see how our car
1:36:11 did oh that's pretty good it's actually
1:36:15 not moving the car it's moving the
1:36:16 camera which is what it should do
1:36:18 beautiful that looks great so that's
1:36:21 Deco here pretty cool right
1:36:26 opinion on Alibaba emo um I put emo in
1:36:30 the announce
1:36:32 list in the salon hang on a
1:36:41 [Music]
1:36:53 sec I mean my
1:36:59 my my opinion on it is it looks great I
1:37:02 want to be able to play with it like I
1:37:03 don't know if it's a tool yet is it out
1:37:06 yet
1:37:09 um
1:37:11 Alibaba
1:37:13 emo let's
1:37:15 see GitHub Venture beat no it's it's
1:37:19 still just a
1:37:22 paper generally if it's a paper I'll
1:37:25 just wait for it Kyle type a
1:37:28 space and commas after the
1:37:34 prompt where in Deco
1:37:41 here where was My Deco
1:37:45 here oh boy I lost
1:37:47 it tab
1:37:52 hoarder yeah oh it adds a chaos element
1:37:56 okay
1:37:57 cool
1:38:00 [Music]
1:38:06 um all right what's happening what's
1:38:09 going on what's going on
1:38:14 people I haven't used Deco here since
1:38:16 Turtles and
1:38:18 trains type one letter and then some
1:38:20 commas oh to Indo here all right
1:38:24 let's see I'll just go here app. Deco
1:38:38 here a r comma comma comma
1:38:44 comma oh
1:38:47 cool yeah it's just
1:38:52 chaos
1:38:57 nice
1:38:59 crazy still crazy after all these
1:39:05 years
1:39:10 [Music]
1:39:15 o what's the longest clip that can be
1:39:17 made in De here I think all of them
1:39:19 right right now are 4 seconds it's
1:39:21 getting I'm getting worried that my
1:39:22 rabbit R1 will a paper weight I know by
1:39:26 the time that thing [ __ ] ships it's
1:39:28 going to be using technology that we're
1:39:31 like oh yeah that was that was like last
1:39:33 month's
1:39:35 technology I mean the good news the good
1:39:38 news about the rabbit is that it is
1:39:41 there's there's two things that they're
1:39:43 doing in it that make make me think it's
1:39:45 not just going to be a paper
1:39:47 weight there it's it's
1:39:50 just basically an operating system
1:39:55 basically an operating system on a
1:39:56 Raspberry Pi so they can switch out the
1:39:59 models they can switch out their API
1:40:01 calls but then they've got this what
1:40:03 what did they call it their their
1:40:06 whatever the model is where they can
1:40:07 train it on different
1:40:09 applications that if they really build
1:40:11 that up is is really cool where you
1:40:14 could you could record yourself making
1:40:16 an image in mid journey and then with
1:40:18 the rabbit just go make me an image in
1:40:20 mid journey of this and you just talk
1:40:23 the prompt and it will log into Discord
1:40:26 make your mid Journey image spit it out
1:40:28 and give it back to you right so I I
1:40:32 think I think it'll be fun to play with
1:40:34 for at least a
1:40:39 week I'm hoping I get a month out of it
1:40:42 and then it's going to go right there
1:40:45 right on that little spot right in front
1:40:47 of the urban desires cquest drive that's
1:40:49 the spot where my rabbit r1's going to
1:40:52 go
1:40:55 Runway lets you add more up to 16
1:40:57 seconds yeah you can take in Runway I
1:40:59 think you can do it in P too you take
1:41:01 your 4 second video you can extend it
1:41:03 for 4 seconds and then do that two or
1:41:05 three times up to 18 seconds or 16
1:41:07 seconds something like
1:41:11 [Music]
1:41:15 that 67 Chevy Impala my first car was a
1:41:19 1970 Chevy
1:41:20 Impala
1:41:22 see with craer
1:41:28 mags 64 and a half Mustang I had a 65
1:41:32 fastback that was pretty well it looked
1:41:35 great driving it was scary as [ __ ] cuz
1:41:38 when you get to about 65 M an hour you
1:41:42 you'd turn the wheel and keep turning
1:41:44 the wheel and then and then eventually
1:41:46 you'd sort of it would it would hit it
1:41:48 and the wheels would turn and the car
1:41:50 would
1:41:51 go and you try trying to turn it back it
1:41:55 was [ __ ]
1:41:57 awful it was not a driver that's why I
1:42:00 want a rest omod what are your thoughts
1:42:02 on the Humane pin
1:42:08 H I think it is the first of what will
1:42:12 become
1:42:15 commonplace it feels like a step too far
1:42:20 right now for for it to be a commercial
1:42:22 success if feels
1:42:24 like people have to learn too much new
1:42:27 what I like about the rabbit is like you
1:42:30 hold it in your screen it's got a screen
1:42:33 it's got a scroll wheel and it's got a
1:42:35 button you hit the button and you talk
1:42:37 to it and it makes a chat GPT prompt and
1:42:40 then you scroll up and down with the
1:42:43 scroll wheel and if you want to take a
1:42:45 picture you double click it and it
1:42:47 activates the camera and then you do
1:42:49 that to take it like it there's just
1:42:51 something tactile and and intuitive
1:42:53 about the
1:42:54 rabbit where the the pin is like this
1:42:57 pin you got to a you got to remember
1:43:00 it's there and then you got to like
1:43:01 double tap it for a picture and double
1:43:04 tap and hold for start your video
1:43:06 recording and then and then once your
1:43:08 video is recording you hold up your hand
1:43:10 and it shoots the interface on your palm
1:43:13 and then you do this with your fingers
1:43:14 like there's just a lot to
1:43:17 learn for I don't
1:43:20 know if the incremental value is more
1:43:23 than what I have in my phone right and I
1:43:25 could argue that with the rabbit as well
1:43:27 but the rabbit's got this weird novelty
1:43:30 toy thing to it that I think the the pin
1:43:34 doesn't and the pin is also $800 and
1:43:36 requires a
1:43:38 subscription so having a thing that's
1:43:41 kind of like a phone but not really but
1:43:43 it's here and I I don't
1:43:46 know I think they will be common place
1:43:48 in five years what whatever these
1:43:50 devices are whether they're glasses or
1:43:52 whether they're [ __ ] we wear
1:43:54 or you know we will probably still
1:43:56 continue to hold [ __ ] because it's just
1:43:59 just tactile hey look at this click
1:44:01 click click look you know as opposed to
1:44:05 with the pin here let me shoot my laser
1:44:07 in my palm and you can look at my family
1:44:09 photos on my palm poorly
1:44:12 rendered I don't know just get out my
1:44:15 phone what's your opinion on the apple
1:44:18 llm called mm1 um I I it from what I can
1:44:23 tell from what I from from what I've
1:44:25 read on the feedback of it
1:44:27 is it looks really [ __ ] impressive it
1:44:30 looks like apple really has their [ __ ]
1:44:32 together and it looks like apple put out
1:44:35 an incredible amount of technical detail
1:44:38 that is not like them like they didn't
1:44:41 quite open source it but they put a lot
1:44:44 out there about how it works and how
1:44:45 they're doing what they're doing so I
1:44:48 don't know I'll I'll I'll check in with
1:44:50 you over the next couple of days what
1:44:51 I'm hoping it is is a precursor to them
1:44:55 you know announcing some new
1:44:58 [ __ ] hotand bothered Siri or
1:45:00 something like
1:45:01 that but it it looks like it's pretty
1:45:04 impressive I mean a they're [ __ ]
1:45:07 apple
1:45:08 right B they put what was it$
1:45:12 22.4 billion of research and development
1:45:16 money in 2023 most of it went to
1:45:22 AI they cancelled their car project
1:45:25 which had 2,000 people working on
1:45:28 it and those 2,000 people are now
1:45:31 working on AI so like apple is not doing
1:45:36 nothing they're just doing what Apple
1:45:38 does which is they're going to figure
1:45:40 this [ __ ] out
1:45:43 cold before they release it and when
1:45:45 they release it it will
1:45:47 likely
1:45:49 alter the industry like it it will light
1:45:53 it it will likely
1:45:55 set set the path for how consumers are
1:45:58 going to engage with
1:46:00 AI they may
1:46:03 not like right now it just seems like
1:46:05 where the [ __ ] are you kids we're out
1:46:08 here we're playing everybody's got their
1:46:09 [ __ ] going on you doing anything I mean
1:46:12 what they're doing is they're building
1:46:14 Hardware so their M3 chip actually from
1:46:17 M1 to M2 to M3 all have fairly
1:46:20 significant capabilities they build
1:46:23 built this um application framework
1:46:26 called I think it's called MX
1:46:29 MMX MMX allows their Hardware to use
1:46:35 both system
1:46:40 RAM and CPUs and gpus to sort of all do
1:46:45 AI [ __ ] together like seamlessly like
1:46:48 you can use resources from Ram you can
1:46:52 use resources from gpus CPUs and they're
1:46:55 all doing their [ __ ] together apparently
1:46:56 it's some sort of technological
1:46:59 Marvel can we try the reference person
1:47:02 again do we need to upload our picture
1:47:05 yeah I can yeah I mean you don't need to
1:47:08 upload your picture if you want it to
1:47:09 look like you you need to upload your
1:47:13 picture so the reference picture that's
1:47:16 being referred
1:47:21 to I'm gonna have no prompt
1:47:24 so I'm at app. deoh here. down in the in
1:47:27 the lower right of the prompt box is
1:47:30 this button that looks like a picture
1:47:33 and then you can say upload so you can
1:47:35 pick a star or you can upload a picture
1:47:37 of
1:47:38 yourself and so if I just go
1:47:44 Kyle I think I've got pictures on here
1:47:46 named KY Cy hey Cy Cy
1:47:52 Cy
1:47:55 I don't know what that
1:47:57 is that's not
1:48:00 me oh wait I didn't say contains the
1:48:03 word
1:48:04 Kyle good Lord

1:48:33 work maybe
1:48:36 not yeah it's in there all right let's

1:49:40 America hey
1:49:42 Sally thanks for rooting me

1:49:52 sucks
1:49:57 h letter
1:50:01 comma wonder if it'll do let's see a
1:50:06 comma comma
1:50:18 comma oh
1:50:22 yeah
1:50:26 you tell me you tell me AI can't be
1:50:28 creative come on
1:50:30 people you tell me AI can't be
1:50:34 creative just copy and pasting from
1:50:36 other
1:50:37 [ __ ] baloney look at
1:50:41 that Bob dely M's
1:50:44 won a new
1:50:48 car she's sassy and kind of looks like a
1:50:52 dude
1:50:58 oh man that one's kind of
1:51:01 cool Nike's latest shoe remember the
1:51:05 Steve Martin short story cruel
1:51:08 [Laughter]
1:51:13 shoes all right

1:51:18 do that I spit my toothpaste all over

1:51:35 handsome
1:51:39 cowboy
1:51:42 walking down a
1:51:46 western
1:51:49 town
1:51:52 street
1:52:00 hey there I'm the happiest Cowboy that
1:52:02 ever was hey how's it going Cowboy here
1:52:05 see myti jeans oh yeah hey I'm a cowboy
1:52:09 you like Cowboys I'm
1:52:16 sassy when I was a kid I wanted to be a
1:52:18 stunt man this was this was sort of how
1:52:21 this was sort of how I imagined myself
1:52:24 jumping off buildings you know getting
1:52:27 shot falling off a
1:52:30 horse yeah i' been I've been working out
1:52:33 a little why is this

1:52:58 [Music]
1:53:03 fantastic job yeah the thing with uh the
1:53:07 reference photos it keeps the exact same
1:53:10 composition and sort of facial
1:53:12 expression Kevin ly said he would buy
1:53:15 Tik Tok on a news clip yeah I saw that
1:53:17 too so did what's his name Steve
1:53:21 minuchin
1:53:25 scary fraking dude but whatever
1:53:33 um I don't
1:53:36 know I thought I thought Tik Tok would
1:53:39 be a slam dunk but I saw a video today
1:53:41 that said basically there's Chinese law
1:53:44 that says they they can't sell it and
1:53:48 that the the the house that wrote the
1:53:51 Bill knew that and so they're
1:53:53 positioning it it as Tik tok's going to
1:53:56 be sold but it can't be sold and so
1:53:59 therefore it's just going to go away
1:54:00 we'll
1:54:01 see we will
1:54:04 see it's all speculation until it's not
