79. 16:23GPT. You don't make money with Photoshop. You don't make money with Microsoft Word. Oh, I know it was a I know it was
80. 16:31sarcasm, but I still think I still think it's a good reminder that that if you want to make money with any of these
81. 16:38tools, how you make money is you solve problems. You solve problems using chat GPT, then you'll make money.
82. 16:49Um, but if you're not solving a problem that is a big enough problem that someone's willing to pay for it, then
83. 16:56you don't have a big enough idea. Keep digging. Uh, is anyone is anyone struggling with anything with AI? Is anyone struggling
84. 17:10with a problem with a um like a tool that's not working? They can't get it to do what they want. Don't know where to start with
85. 17:23something. Feel free to pop it in there. Spelunking. I haven't turn heard that term since second grade. Actually, one
86. 17:31of my favorite little spelunking adventures. I was at Penn State and there was a big quarry and there was
87. 17:40apparently some cave in it. So, we went to this quarry. We snuck in after midnight. We crawled up this cliff face
88. 17:46and there was a like a steel door and we jimmyed it open and bats flew out and then we went into this cave like at
89. 17:54midnight. It was pretty cool. It was good. I don't understand MCP. I haven't set up MCP but I can tell
90. 18:03you generally what it is. So, generally what MCP is is it's kind of an API for APIs, which which will make no sense. If
91. 18:14you don't know what an API is, then it doesn't even make sense at all. Um, okay. So, if I've got a website, right?
92. 18:22Let's say I've got the website eBay. That's the that's my little hobby site that I started for people to sell their [ __ ]
93. 18:29Normally, if I wanted someone to do things with my site, I would create an API, an application programming
94. 18:39interface, and it would basically be, you know, you would have special keys you need to um apply, you know, assign
95. 18:47to each user. And then there's API documentation and people would take the the API documentation and they would
96. 18:55write into their application. You know, maybe you've got like a an eBay value checker website and you're going to pull
97. 19:03information from eBay if they allow that in their API and you're going to pull it in and you write code to be able to talk to eBay.
98. 19:13What MCP does is it basically creates a standard where anyone who's got a site like eBay can basically create what's
99. 19:20called an MCP server that says here are all the functions that I'm making available just like you would make them
100. 19:27available with an API but you're making them available in this MCP um protocol that claude initially that
101. 19:36anthropic are the ones that made it and now um OpenAI is supporting ing it and it it looks like it's got a good chance
102. 19:44of of becoming an industry standard. But once that MCP server is up and running, I can now just point to it, you know,
103. 19:53from my from my large language model. And then I could say within my large language model, hey, you know, go check
104. 20:00prices on eBay. And if if I'm connected to that um to that MCP to eBay, it would know exactly what it's got access to.
105. 20:09and the large language model can can literally just use eBay as a tool set um to answer my problem, right? So, you could say, "Go
106. 20:19to eBay and find me prices on this. Go to Amazon and find me prices on Chinese knockoffs and come back and and give me
107. 20:26an answer where they're both there." So, so does that does that make sense? Is that in the neighborhood
108. 20:32of Quinn for an analogy? I don't know quite what that means. Oh. Oh, for MCP possibly. Yeah, forl told me about MCP.
109. 20:41First time had I ever heard of it. MCP sounds a lot like edge compute as I understand it. Well, it's not so much edge compute.
110. 20:48I mean, edge compute is kind of on smaller devices. Um, but but it's it's like um it's basically like being able to do
111. 21:00API level um calls to services without having to write any APIs. You're literally just connecting you're connecting your large
112. 21:11language model to an MCP server and then it's got access to all of what it can do and it it basically
113. 21:18understands what functions are possible through that through that server. Um using co-pilot at work created an agent for a small job aid
114. 21:30document to test. did great for the first five questions, then blatantly lied on the sixth. Yeah, we're I think we're very much in a um
115. 21:43who's who said that? Valerie Cox. I think we're we're in a very weird phase of AI right now where the capabilities
116. 21:52of the tools have gotten dramatically better and the hallucinations have not really improved all that much. Like the
117. 22:02hallucinations are still really bad. So, um that's gonna that's gonna I think that's going to slow some things down.

121. 22:41I it's so fun with creative writing. I find myself about twothirds of the time really
122. 22:57disappointed with chat GPT. I don't I don't use Claude as much as I used to, but I should. Um, and I don't really use Gemini at all.
123. 23:13Oh, it's funny. Yeah, we could make a kids book for the Open AI contest. Actually, we could flood the zone. We That could be fun. Tonight,

126. 23:43with Chat GPT and and the image generator in it. 75 books in I don't use direct LLM at all. Yeah, there you go. See, I know. I know. It's
127. 23:57weird. Claude is apparently good at mimicking people's text behavior. Well, yeah, you can within Claude, you can you
128. 24:04can um pick styles and you can actually create a style. So, that's a that's a nice thing that that Claude has. But the
129. 24:12the issue I have with creative writing is more around um it either gets lazy and you ask it for a big detailed outline and it gives
130. 24:23you a shitty short outline or it just gives you like cliche kind of [ __ ] So, I don't know. Um, let's see. Let me jump over to

139. 26:41right. So, okay. So, let me go show you something that I was working on today, which like like many things, chat GPT had promise at the
140. 26:56beginning, but the more I used it, the worse it got. And so, I have an idea for how to how to fix it. Hideand seek story.
141. 27:10Okay, let's see. Are we loading in my images? All right. So, today I saw I saw a post on X that said
142. 27:27use 03 because 03 is the multi-step reasoning engine, right? And it it also has access to be able to make images. And so I thought
143. 27:38what would be cool is pick a this is just like a midjourney style reference image that was kind of cool. And so I said I want you to write
144. 27:49a children's book about a kid playing hideand seek and finding all this remarkable stuff and then in the end says they
145. 27:56didn't find anything but then maybe a grandpa reveals all the cool things that they find that they ignored were the real
146. 28:03goal attached as a visual style. The main character should remain consistent. The style should too, right? And so here
147. 28:13it made a cool thing with the little girl in the astronaut's outfit, which is kind of cool. It said story and pictures
148. 28:19by Quinn AI and Kyle Shannon. I'm like, "Oh, that's kind of cute." And then there she is. She's pretty consistent.
149. 28:27This is all good. Except the story was kind of crappy and it kind of ended kind of crappy and then it made this sort of shitty last page.
150. 28:37And then I said, "Well, like write the scenes first." And then it did that and I gave it a new style. And then it tried
151. 28:44that. And so here she is. She's wearing a blue shirt. Now she's wearing a red dress. Now she's wearing a white dress.
152. 28:53Now she's got a helmet on and it's a blue dress. So that was kind of a mess. So then I said, "Write it out again and
153. 29:02keep it consistent." And I gave it a new style and I'm like, "Okay, this is looking fun. Liking this. Ready or not, here I come." So now
154. 29:11she goes from dark long hair to being a boy, I think, to being sort of a boy or a I don't know, a red head with a yellow
155. 29:22shirt. Like not not anywhere in the same neighborhood. You're in 03. 40 is much better at consistency. Okay.
156. 29:35But I also have an idea for what to do here. So, we're going to try something. Um All right. So, and then I just sort
157. 29:45of gave up on it. Maybe I did one more. Yeah, I did one more and it was it was similarly bad. It just didn't follow
158. 29:51anything. So, we're going to start a brand new project. And I think I'll do I think I'll do 40. So, let's do 40 rather than
159. 30:0003 rather than the reasoning engine. It did kind of suck. Um, okay. So, let's let's see. Um, do
160. 30:17you do you remember the hide and seek story I just had you work on? So, if you don't have an idea for a
161. 30:33children's book, a thing that would be good to do, like feel free to play along with this. A thing to do is is have Chat
162. 30:42GPT, tell Chat GBT it's a children's book writer. Maybe even mention some authors that you like. You know, be inspired by
163. 30:51these kind of authors, kids book authors. Um, let's see. Adheres to um and then just have it have it
164. 31:04generate a bunch of ideas for children's books and and pick one. I've got one. This hide-and-seek story. So, yes, I
165. 31:10remember the hide-and-seek story you're working on. Features a young girl who searches for someone like her grandpa
166. 31:16during a kids game of hideand-seek. Along the way, she finds small pocketable treasures and dismisses them
167. 31:22as nothing. In the end, the twist is that the person she was looking for reveals that the things she found were the point all
168. 31:33along. tying to the theme of enjoying the journey, not the destination. Okay, great. Perfect. So, okay. What I want you to do
169. 31:46now is I want you to, this is going to sound geeky and weird, create a JS, a JSON schema for the cover of the book and
170. 32:05each of the pages. The JSON should include um the character with an
171. 32:19S. Um what they are wearing, where they are, any details important for the
172. 32:34story, the text of that page, etc. Please create a sample
173. 32:50page using the new schema. So a schema is basically just uh a framework where every page is have a consistent description. So basically
174. 33:05before I generate the image, I want to have a consistent description to make sure that the little girl always is
175. 33:14wearing the same dress, always has the same length hair, things like that. Tik Tok pin. What did you do with your
176. 33:20Friday night date night? Learn about Jason schemas. Shut up. It's I This is This is how I think we're going to get
177. 33:26consistency. Now listen, I might be overthinking this, but screw it. You're learning something new. You're learning

184. 34:43kids book writing. All right. So, now we're going to get it to give us an outline. The title is called Nothing
185. 34:54Here or Pocket Full of Nothing or The Best Things I Didn't Find. Nothing here is fine. Nenah is the main character. The tone
186. 35:05witty, slightly ironic structure, 10 pages. Each page has minimal testes text, rich illustrations, and a thing Nah finds but dismisses. She
187. 35:20believes she's not finding anything, but in fact, she's collecting a story without realizing it. Tik Tok pin. I
188. 35:28turned away for a second and he went from kids book to coding. What's the coding for? So Joe, what the coding for? So JSON is
189. 35:37basically just a description framework, right? Where you're you're using coding tags to to make sure that every page
190. 35:46that's described has the same basic elements, right? So it's always got a character description. It's always got a
191. 35:52description of the location. It's got a description of the style, things like that. So, what I'm going to do is have
192. 35:58it write the outline, and then I'm going to have it write a JSON set of code for each page, and then I'm going to
193. 36:07literally copy and paste the JSON for each page in and tell it to make that image because when I tried to make them
194. 36:15today, it just kept being completely inconsistent. It was driving me [ __ ] crazy. So, this is just this is just another
195. 36:26um one of the things we get to do with generative AI that that is absolutely bonkers is we get to experiment with
196. 36:36different modalities. Like it doesn't make sense to use coding to write a kids book unless it does, right? It's good at
197. 36:47that. What a what a JSON schema does is it gives you consistent descriptions for each page as opposed to just relying on
198. 36:55the large language model to remember everything you told it and then it failing miserably. Are there, you know, 400
199. 37:02other ways we could do this? Absolutely. So So that's that's what it is. Um that's or that's why I'm doing it. All

204. 37:43tosses it behind her. Bunny picks it up and hops off. Um, a red thread is caught on a branch. Closline garbage, she declares. Throws
205. 37:52a little thing. Okay, I like the animal thing. So, so let's say um why don't we have let's see
206. 38:26Um, does Nina um pick up the items or leave them? And
207. 38:45Is it that grandpa is behind her picking them up for her?
208. 39:02Or do animals bring them to a clearing or what? What makes sense
209. 39:18to reinforce the moral of the story? Great question. The journey is the treasure. Pay attention or you miss the magic.
210. 39:34So, the ending should consist of wonder, realization, emotional warmth, subtle humor, and the twist shouldn't feel like
211. 39:40a gimmick, but rather a gentle truth Nah stumbles into. Option one, she pockets some, discards others, but doesn't see
212. 39:50them. Moral payoff. She didn't not find things. She just didn't know how to see what she found. Grandpa helps her do
213. 39:58that. All right. Option two, magical forest creatures collect the trail. Nina tosses or ignores them. Whimsical
214. 40:05whimsical animals, bunnies, crows, a curious fox collect them. I think that's good. Nature remembers what you
215. 40:12overlook. The world is always watching. Yeah. Tik Tok pin. I use chat to act as an attorney and send a legal letter to my mortgage
216. 40:22company. Brilliant. Love it. Absolutely do that. She never picks up anything. Grandpa made it all up. Nina ever
217. 40:32pockets anything. In the end, Grandpa lays out a bunch of cool things. I found these while you were stomping around
218. 40:38looking for nothing. How did I miss all that? Why, this doesn't work as well. Recommendation: blend option one and option

220. 41:04have the animals in the final scene where Grandpa reveals his master
221. 41:20plan for her to uh find all the goodies. and not him. New Tik Tok
222. 41:38pin. Oh, watch out for legal hallucinations. Unless you're making a kids book. My mortgage company changed their
223. 41:48tone very fast and corrected their mistake. Good. [ __ ] them. Listen, I think that I think that the one of the things that's that's
224. 41:59really coming into focus for me is that AI allow AI is an amplifier of our desires, our humanity, what we want. So,
225. 42:14in your case, you've got big powerful mortgage company and little old you. And you're like, "That's not fair.
226. 42:23Whatever they were doing was not fair." And you're like, "Okay, I'm going to have AI take my problem and help me
227. 42:31solve it." and it wrote this legal letter and you sent it to them and it turned them around immediately because
228. 42:37you're now responding as if you had a high-powered attorney, right, on your behalf. Um, with legal stuff, you do
229. 42:47need to be careful with hallucinations, but if you're writing a sternly worded letter um in legal ease that's going to
