17:56 about reasoning is going to be the next
17:57 thing coming from open AI the uh what it
18:01 called qar the qar thing that's
18:04 reasoning apparently it is human level
18:08 reasoning meaning it's it's as good at
18:10 problem solving as PhD level students in
18:14 most categories what site is this this
18:16 is just from

18:29 that can take actions so right now we're
18:32 in chatbots then the chatbots are going
18:34 to get really smart then the chatbots

18:47 invention so you know how everyone's
18:49 going it's just a probability engine it
18:51 can't do any original thinking well

19:02 organizations an AI that can do the work
19:05 of an organization so you've heard Sam
19:08 Alman and and some of the other um
19:11 people from the AI research lab saying
19:15 that imagine someday when you could have
19:18 you know the resources of a thousand
19:20 person company that's what they're
19:22 building
19:23 toward that's what they're building
19:25 toward so crazy crazy so now let's go

19:32 detail about this

19:57 on a tiar system from from open AI a
20:00 version of chat GPT was also presented
20:03 which has new
20:05 capabilities from the wording it sounds
20:07 as if qar will be installed in the new
20:10 model so qar is the reasoning engine
20:13 open aai Executives told employees that
20:15 the company believes it's current it's
20:18 currently on the first level according
20:21 to a spokesperson but on the cusp of
20:24 reaching the second which it calls re
20:27 reasoners this refers to systems that
20:29 can do basic problemsolving tasks as
20:33 well as humans with a doctorate level
20:37 education holy [ __ ] now Mira moradi said
20:41 this was 2025 when we were going to get
20:43 the PHD level things so this might not
20:46 be eminent this might be this might be
20:49 you know 6 months out a year out I don't
20:51 know um but holy
20:55 [ __ ] it can Pro solve problems at p PhD
20:59 doctorate level
21:01 education who don't have any access to
21:04 tools right tools tools are what agents
21:06 are that's level three at the same
21:09 meeting the company leadership gave a
21:11 demonstration of a research project
21:13 involving its gp4 AI model that open AI
21:18 thinks shows some new skills that rise
21:20 to humanlike reasoning according to the
21:22 person familiar with the discussion who
21:24 asked not to be
21:26 identified reached for comment the
21:28 spokesperson
21:30 said open AI is always testing new
21:32 capabilities spokesperson said [ __ ] off
21:35 okay however it is quite clear where the
21:38 path is heading open AI says quite
21:40 directly that tier three will be agents
21:43 for them according to the levels open AI
21:45 has come up with the third tier on its
21:47 way to AGI would be
21:50 agents level four would be Innovations
21:53 level five would be
21:54 organizations recently there have been
21:56 more and more rumors that the imminent
21:59 arrival of new models and as it turns
22:01 out this is not at all far-fetched if
22:05 new model capabilities are already being
22:08 presented I wonder how long it will take
22:10 them to release it after promising it to
22:12 paying customers it's going to be a
22:14 while Danielle um but you got to figure
22:18 we're on the cusp we're probably within
22:21 two months of grock 2 or grock
22:25 3 um you know Claude for like you're
22:29 going to you're going to see a series of
22:33 releases of Chachi BD competitors that
22:36 take them Beyond gp4 Omni so I would
22:39 think at some point um open AI got to
22:42 release something to keep up with the in
22:44 the in the coming weeks yeah
22:47 exactly so anyway that's crazy isn't

23:41 coming from US 20 bucks a month 21% or
23:45 714 million is coming from Enterprise
23:48 customers so Enterprise deals 510
23:51 million 15% from the
23:56 API and then 2 90 million from GPT te
24:01 which is the small business version of
24:04 Enterprise right Enterprise I think you
24:06 had to have a minimum spend of 10 10,000
24:09 or you had to have 10,000 seats I don't
24:10 know some ridiculous amount and then
24:13 team team is small business so small
24:15 businesses 8% of their revenue API or
24:18 sort of programmers writing other
24:20 applications 15% of their revenue
24:23 Enterprise is 211% and little old 20
24:27 Buck a month

24:30 1.9 billion dollar from 7.7 Global
24:36 subscribers The the number is
24:38 interesting there right because I think
24:40 they're at 150 million maybe 175 million
24:45 seats people that are using it and 7.7
24:49 million are
24:53 subscribers so that's that's you know
24:57 down in the 5 6 7% range are paid paid
25:01 subscribers wait till this [ __ ] gets
25:04 good GPT GPT 4 is free correct the
25:08 current gp4 Omni is free it's a little
25:10 bit hobbled doesn't quite have all the
25:12 goodies that the paid version does but
25:15 it's it's plenty good to to be using the

28:15 making AI are are kind of smartly doing
28:19 what these guys did what what what that
28:21 commercial basically said was sure you
28:24 can just push the button and have it
28:25 squirt out a movie but we're filmmakers
28:28 we tell stories with
28:29 intentionality um uh Caleb from Curious
28:33 ref Refuge who spoke at the salon last
28:35 week um he was talking about how he's
28:39 training Hollywood people and basically
28:42 saying you know we're here to train you
28:44 to do the work you do but in a you know
28:47 in a different way um I think it's smart
28:50 because I think if if these uh even LTX
28:55 Studio which you know ostensibly if they
28:58 if they if their tool gets good enough
29:01 it would it would you know replace
29:03 filmmakers it it could potentially
29:05 replace filmmakers but even they are
29:07 saying hey come on filmmakers you know
29:09 you you teach us how you do what you do
29:12 and do it with our tool like learn to
29:13 use our tool who this this is uh Odyssey

40:13 you want me to say to Congress because
40:15 here's what I'm thinking how we're
40:18 positioning the AI Salon is as you know
40:20 a group of AI optimists in the face of
40:24 you know Washington DC and state
40:26 government fear
40:28 all of the legislation that's being
40:30 created right now is being created out
40:31 of fear not out of optimism and so
40:35 storyvine or I mean the AI Salon is
40:39 about people that are like well let's
40:40 just try this it's coming so why don't
40:42 we just play with it right and

40:47 them you know I like I would love to
40:50 hear stories
40:52 about if you're Reinventing yourself or
40:55 if you've if you're newly powered or you
41:00 know some of the some of the people in
41:02 here that are um you know started out

41:08 they're running like AI committees
41:10 things like that so just start thinking

1:05:21 this first phase is learn the second
1:05:24 phase is build and the third phase is is
1:05:26 tell people about it in the learn phase
1:05:29 in the play first
1:05:32 phase the reason I say to play is that
1:05:34 you should be pushing the boundaries
1:05:37 hard just play with these tools push the
1:05:40 boundaries try to get it to do stupid

1:06:19 will um when you go into that mindfully
1:06:22 create mode you pick a tool or two so
1:06:25 you kind of narrow you start out really
1:06:27 wide in this play first area play with
1:06:29 the tools figure out where the
1:06:30 boundaries are realize oh um Gemini and
1:06:34 perplexity are actually good at
1:06:36 researching things but they're kind of
1:06:38 shittier at writing and Claude and open
1:06:40 AI are good at writing and open ai's got
1:06:43 more subtlety to it but claud's got this
1:06:46 bigger content like you'll sort of
1:06:47 figure out where the boundaries are then
1:06:49 when you decide to work on a project
1:06:52 pick a tool narrow it down
1:06:56 and if you've done this part right
1:06:58 you'll you'll know which tool to use and
1:07:01 then you'll know what the limitations
1:07:03 are so you'll be able to work within
1:07:04 them and then as you start to build that
1:07:07 thing and you realize oh it's not as
1:07:09 good as I thought it was at this or it's
1:07:10 better than I thought it was at that
1:07:13 that's where you can then put that
1:07:14 project out in the world and share with
1:07:16 people here's what I built here's why
1:07:19 it's cool here's how I did it here's
1:07:21 what was beautiful about AI here's
1:07:23 what's bad about AI so I would what I I
1:07:26 would actually encourage you to do is
1:07:28 rather than learn what the limitations
1:07:30 of AI are teach other people what the
1:07:34 limitations of AI are by playing first
1:07:38 mindfully creating and generously
1:07:40 leading um there is a brand

2:24:02 today's world I just work with him
2:24:04 anyway because I know he can do the job
2:24:07 and just [ __ ] it I'll suck it up and
2:24:10 yeah three years from now four years
2:24:12 from now when you know whenever the
2:24:14 tools get to where they get to I'm going
2:24:16 to be able to hire someone that can do
2:24:18 80% as good as that guy or maybe better
2:24:23 like maybe it's
2:24:24 90% but the reason I hire them the one
2:24:28 they can do it 80% is good is because
2:24:30 they're not an [ __ ] because I know
2:24:32 they've got a good work ethic because I
2:24:34 know they're fun to work
2:24:36 with the only way people are going to
2:24:39 know who you are is if you engage with
2:24:43 them so right now LinkedIn is kind of
2:24:45 this weird perverse I've got skills I've
2:24:48 got skills hey I just want iy I thought
2:24:50 it was be good if we' expand our
2:24:52 networks and have mutually
2:24:55 beneficial right that [ __ ] weird ass
2:24:58 [ __ ] this community is people that
2:25:01 are like what did you learn today oh I
2:25:03 learned this well what did you learn
2:25:04 today oh I learned this oh hey you know
2:25:06 it' be cool hey you want to do something
2:25:07 together yeah let's do something
2:25:08 together and in doing those weird little
2:25:10 projects and those weird little
2:25:12 teachings and learnings and and
2:25:14 buildings and and critiquing and
2:25:17 commenting and just looking and lurking
2:25:21 I'm getting to understand oh I know
2:25:24 Daisy Thomas is really passionate about
2:25:26 writing and politics and she's fun to
2:25:28 talk to and I know that Source camps
2:25:30 really got her [ __ ] together and rather
2:25:32 than get stuck in things are changing
2:25:35 she's just like [ __ ] it I'm going to
2:25:36 completely reinvent myself
2:25:39 like I am learning at a very deep level
2:25:42 who a lot of people are in this
2:25:44 community and so when it comes time for
2:25:46 me to hire someone in the
2:25:49 future I'm going to
2:25:51 assume especially if they're in this
2:25:53 group that they'll be able to use AI to
2:25:56 do [ __ ]
2:25:57 anything and then it's just a matter of
2:26:00 who do I want to work
2:26:02 with right who seems right for this
2:26:04 particular
2:26:06 challenge oh I need someone who can work
2:26:08 fast I know that Vicki can work fast
2:26:10 right all that sort of [ __ ] so when we
2:26:14 shift from hiring people for what they
2:26:15 can do to who they
2:26:18 are being in a trusted community is
2:26:21 going to be a superpower and not being
2:26:23 in one is going to seem like where did
2:26:25 everybody go why is the phone not
