Live Stream2025-01-221:32:04111 views
Description
During this AI Learning Lab session, hosted by Kyle Shannon, Kyle began with a discussion of Sam Altman's recent $500 billion commitment from SoftBank and Oracle for AI data center construction. This investment signals a rapid acceleration in AI infrastructure development, particularly with OpenAI's advancements. Kyle also highlighted predictions of advanced AI agents emerging as early as 2025, emphasizing their potential to revolutionize various industries. The session then transitioned to a discussion around the AI Salon meet and greet, where participants shared their aspirations if given unlimited resources, with most focusing on helping others.
The conversation shifted to AI tools, with a focus on video tools due to a poll result. Kyle showcased Joy Purdy's AI-generated music video, praising her creativity and highlighting the iterative process involved in AI video creation. He then demonstrated Midjourney's capabilities, including style references, mood boards, and image generation, emphasizing the importance of hyper-curiosity and adaptability in navigating the rapidly evolving AI landscape. Kyle also touched upon the debate surrounding AI attribution and encouraged creators not to apologize for using AI tools for self-expression. He concluded by promoting upcoming events, including a class on AI mechanics and an AI readiness training program.

the black 3:50 bar is for all my Tik Tok folks to be 3:53 able to see their little texts because 3:55 here's the deal for those of you not on 3:57 Tik Tok the people on Tik Tok 4:00 they're a little they're spe they're 4:02 special they're they're they're not 4:05 weird they're 4:08 irregular and they've got a whole 4:10 situation that is it's got nothing to do 4:13 with you it's a whole thing they do you 4:18 don't want to be there you don't want to 4:19 get involved with that crowd 4:22 [Music] 4:37 through blue 4:39 telescope looking at the world tonight 4:43 through blue 4:45 telescope wish I may wish I may not see 4:50 what I 4:51 see sheep metal on sheet of eyes 4:57 [Music] 5:00 look at through this blue 5:03 [Music] 5:05 telescope down a moon struck a road 5:08 [Music] 5:16 tonight oh we are in a situation A 5:20 situationship with you Kyle I know it's 5:23 like who's weirder me or the people that 5:26 Watch Me You could argue you you could 5:29 certainly make the case that you 5:32 know and my stupid voices and my 5:35 swearing and my cussing and my bad hair 5:38 you could make the case it would be weak 5:40 it wouldn't hold up in a court of law 5:42 but you could make the case that I'm the 5:46 weirdo but then the people that show 5:49 up you got to take it a step further 5:52 with them you got to say what the what 5:53 what is going 5:55 on who what I don't care how he weird he 5:59 is why do they keep coming back exactly 6:03 right I think there's evidence there I 6:06 think you can make a 6:10 case you know I can say oh it's just a 6:13 character I'm like Jim 6:15 Cary without the talent or the laughs or 6:18 the money but or the looks or the body 6:22 but other very similar other than that 6:26 in that you know he could say well that 6:28 was just a character wasn't the real gym 6:32 the real gym was that weirdo conspiracy 6:34 theory 6:35 [Laughter] 6:39 [Music] 6:45 freak we learned it from watching you 6:48 80s 6:50 commercial oh that's a pretty chord 6:53 [Music] 7:08 [Applause] 7:09 [Music] 7:29 oh 7:34 [Music] 7:37 didn't mean cause you in a 7:41 [Music] 7:42 sorrow didn't mean cause you in a 7:46 [Music] 7:50 pain only one long time to see you 7:56 laughing only want to see it laugh in 8:00 that purple rain Purple Rain Purple 8:05 [Music] 8:07 Rain Purple Rain Purple 8:11 [Music] 8:13 Rain Purple Rain 8:19 [Music] 8:23 purple want to see you laugh in that r 8:31 what do you think 8:32 champy you like that Prince you like 8:35 Prince Prince so good Prince so good I 8:39 don't know if y all know this Prince so 8:41 good champy likes the prince he likes 8:43 the 8:44 [Music] 8:53 prince all right what do you want to 8:56 talk about tonight tonight was a really 8:58 interesting we had a we had an AI Salon 9:00 meeting if you don't know the AI Salon 9:03 you should go learn about it go there to 9:06 that their 9:08 Earl that's what we call back in the in 9:10 the mid 90s when we were building these 9:12 website things we would call those 9:15 Earls not 9:17 URLs Earl like like the 9:21 [Laughter] 9:23 guy it was swell the night thank you 9:25 Kelly camp for co-hosting tonight 9:30 we asked 9:33 people so here's kind of the setup the 9:35 setup was basically 9:38 this so Sammy boy Sammy boy 9:44 Alman just got a 500 billion doll 9:47 commitment from soft Bank where Oracle 9:49 Oracle is building their data centers 9:51 the construction's already be begun by 9:53 the way in 9:55 Texas oh uh soft bank is putting in a 9:58 hundred billion dollars 10:00 they've committed to another 500 billion 10:02 to build these data centers out all over 10:04 the 10:05 US um Trump's going to Fast Track it I I 10:08 got asked the question on the thing like 10:10 what why was Trump announcing this one 10:12 is it's just a it's a big deal it's like 10:14 the biggest investment in a tech company 10:17 in in I don't know in a long time or in 10:19 history whatever but what Trump's gonna 10:21 do is he's gonna he's gonna 10:23 declare state state of emergency 10:26 whatevers so they can just FastTrack the 10:28 regulations and get these these data 10:30 centers built so that's that's what the 10:32 Trump administration's 10:34 doing 10:37 um but what that says is all the stuff 10:40 that open AI is figuring out right now 10:44 they're going to be able to throw all 10:45 this compute at it in in relatively 10:47 short 10:49 order you know over the next three years 10:54 right so that was so part of this setup 10:56 is just things are going to be 10:58 accelerating from an infastructure 11:01 standpoint um yeah $500 billion do 11:04 Stargate 11:06 exactly that's why s was at the in 11:09 inauguration well all the to be clear 11:12 all the major Tech players and put it 11:15 this way any platform that you're on was 11:18 represented at the inauguration on the 11:21 deis 11:24 right so they're all accelerating their 11:27 [ __ ] 11:30 [Music] 11:31 then you combine that with the fact that 11:34 all of the Frontier Model companies are 11:38 kind of figuring out the same [ __ ] at 11:40 the same 11:42 time 11:43 um Dario amade from anthropic basically 11:47 said we're going to have advanced agents 11:49 in 2025 likely in early 11:53 2025 um open AI has said we'll have 11:55 operators by the end of January I also 11:58 hear they're kind of behind 12:00 so maybe it's by the end of February or 12:02 something like that but within let's say 12:03 by 12:05 March 12:08 mid-march 12:10 um grock is about to hit grock 3 so so X 12:14 is going to have their version of this 12:16 meta's going to have their version of 12:18 this so in 2025 we're going to have what 12:21 are called 12:23 agents and agents are not super clear if 12:28 you're not if you're not kind of deeply 12:30 paying attention to this stuff you might 12:33 look at something like zappier that 12:35 automates a bunch of stuff and go oh 12:37 that's an agent and and in fact a lot of 12:40 automation companies are marketing their 12:43 automation tools as agent building tools 12:46 and they're not they're just 12:48 not an 12:51 agent 12:53 is something that is going to 12:56 be at least as smart as you 13:01 likely somewhere in the neighborhood of 13:03 a 13:04 genius at every discipline of every 13:09 job right now do do we get something of 13:12 that level in all those jobs in 2025 13:15 probably not that probably goes to 2026 13:18 but I think it's fairly safe to assume 13:20 at this point that by the end of 2025 13:25 okay there's there's a poll up on Tik 13:27 Tok so if you go up there click on the 13:29 little angled clipboard thing and 13:32 there's a poll that basically is asking 13:35 what do you want me to talk about 13:36 tonight image tools video tools podcast 13:40 tools or 13:41 other all 13:43 right go vote for which one you want me 13:46 to cover tonight and then I will do my 13:49 best to ignore that okay that's that's 13:52 the way I roll 13:53 apparently it's not intentional it's 13:56 just this is Chad add and sometimes 13:58 someone will ask me a question like why 14:01 do birds fly and like 45 minutes later 14:04 I'm still talking about I don't know 14:07 tricycles it's just the way it goes here 14:11 but do the poll and I'll I'll do my best 14:14 to to do what you talk talk about what 14:16 you want me to talk 14:18 about all right so I think it's fairly 14:23 safe to assume that by the end of 14:26 2025 a lot of people will have access to 14:30 autonomous agents and think of it less 14:33 like what's an autonomous agent think of 14:35 it like this what if you had at your 14:39 disposal 14:42 10 midlevel so think you know not 14:45 entrylevel person you know not executive 14:49 but midlevel someone who's been in the 14:51 company for 15 years imagine if you had 14:54 10 14:56 employees that are like midlevel quality 15:00 like like you know director or you know 15:04 senior manager or senior execution dude 15:07 or 15:08 duet level person you had 10 of those at 15:13 your 15:15 disposal and so what we talked about 15:17 tonight on the in the AI Salon it was an 15:20 AI Salon meet and greet so we go around 15:23 and people introduce themselves and then 15:24 we generally have like a prompting 15:26 question so the prompting question 15:28 tonight was 15:29 [Music] 15:31 what's 15:32 something that you've always wanted to 15:34 do but for whatever reason you haven't 15:38 done 15:39 it and the reason we ask that is like I 15:43 think that starts to become our 15:48 job as we move into a world where AI can 15:52 do the Tactical execution of the 15:57 jobs what's our role 16:00 our role is to go oh you know what I 16:03 would use these tools for man what is 16:07 the 16:10 me what what is the thing that you would 16:13 do if you had the talent if you had the 16:15 education if you had the resources if 16:18 you had the the the the ability to raise 16:20 money to to go hire people to build the 16:23 thing you want to build what would you 16:25 build what would you do would you make a 16:27 movie would you write a novel would you 16:30 go sit on the beach while you're 16:32 simultaneously um educating people out 16:34 of 16:35 poverty that was Kelly Camp's Vision 16:39 tonight was she started out I just want 16:41 to sit on the beach but then she said no 16:43 you know what I actually really want to 16:44 do I want to go to Honduras where I've 16:47 got friends that are stuck in this place 16:49 because they don't have the education 16:51 and they don't have the resources and 16:52 they don't understand entrepreneurship 16:54 and I want to teach them 16:55 entrepreneurship so they can get out I'm 16:58 like well we've got these tools that 17:01 they can do the tools can do the 17:02 teaching the tools can do 17:05 the can potentially help them start 17:08 businesses and get the [ __ ] out of Dodge 17:11 maybe she puts in an hour or two a day 17:13 to build 17:14 relationships and she spends six eight 17:16 10 hours a day drinking my Ties on the 17:20 beach braiding an occasional hair with 17:23 some seashells in it 17:30 it's something she's thought about since 17:32 she was little and it's it's evolved and 17:34 it's it's this this cool little nugget 17:37 of vision and ambition and make the 17:41 world a better place and what was cool 17:43 tonight 17:44 was pretty much to a person what people 17:48 said they would do if they had infinite 17:51 resources there were one or two that 17:52 were like I'd start a business I'd do 17:53 some business stuff but most of them 17:55 were like I'd help 17:57 people all right video tools hit hit 40% 18:02 okay video tools is what it 18:05 is there's so much to talk about with 18:07 video tools 18:09 too um hang 18:19 on most important thing you can be right 18:22 now is hyper curious about AI hyper 18:26 curious the next thing that follows 18:28 hyper curious ious is hyper 18:33 adaptable what do you mean by hyper 18:35 adaptable Kyle I don't 18:38 understand I think the next three to 18:40 five years are going to 18:43 [Music] 18:47 be like a 18:50 [Music] 18:54 profound redefinition of what we do 18:59 and just about the time you think you 19:01 have it figured out something else is 19:02 going to happen it's going to change it 19:05 and then something else is going to 19:06 happen it's going to change it then 19:07 something else is gonna happen it's 19:08 going to change 19:09 it and I think the people that are going 19:11 to do well in that environment are 19:13 people that are like [ __ ] 19:15 it I'm in I want to know what's going on 19:18 I want to know what's 19:19 possible I got the ambition to try to 19:22 figure this [ __ ] out and then if it all 19:25 blows up in your face cool [ __ ] it let's 19:27 move on to the next thing 19:32 I think those people are going to be 19:37 [Music] 19:50 Superstars people with critical thinking 19:52 people with taste people with judgment 19:55 ready fire aim yep 19:59 [Music] 20:10 Vicky Baptist there are only four rules 20:12 you need to remember make the plan 20:15 execute the plan expect the plan to go 20:18 off the rails throw away the plan follow 20:21 my lead and you'll be fine 20:24 lenoa yes I don't know who lenoa is but 20:28 that is the that's it that's 20:33 it make the plan execute the plan expect 20:37 the plan to go off the rails throw out 20:39 the 20:40 plan five 20:42 years five 20:44 years and then what happens after five 20:47 years like enough people will be 20:51 assimilated to what's going on that 20:54 there'll be some buffer maybe you can do 20:56 something for a year or two before 20:59 before you have to reinvent 21:00 [Laughter] 21:02 it you know and in 20 years it'll just 21:05 be what it is like we we'll have figured 21:07 it out 20 years out but the next three 21:10 [Music] 21:19 years oh 21:21 Leonard Leonard 21:23 snart I don't know who Leonard snart is 21:27 Leonard start 21:28 [Music] 21:34 who's Leonard 21:39 start I know Leonard Cohen 21:42 [Music] 22:01 typing is hard I don't know Leonard 22:03 start but I like his plan have a plan 22:07 execute on the plan expect the plan will 22:10 [ __ ] up blow the plan up it's good it's 22:18 solid I know Leonard Cohen too it's not 22:21 who Brandon's quoting Captain Cold from 22:23 DC Comer oh okay um students are telling 22:28 me that I'm the only that I'm the only 22:31 class that critical thinking is being 22:33 taught due to AI Allan Mr studio 22:38 dhj if if you're in education you should 22:42 connect with 22:43 [Music] 22:46 him any educator right now that is not 22:49 leaning in 22:51 hard to developing critical thinking in 22:54 their students is is is doing a real 22:58 disservice 22:59 critical thinking is everything right 23:03 [Music] 23:05 now yeah Source Camp it's every 23:07 entrepreneurs road map that that thing 23:10 but I expect it to be broken every six 23:14 months now instead of 23:16 every two years three years what's the 23:18 average length of a startup most don't 23:20 last a year do they 23:23 [Applause] 23:24 [Music] 23:38 cling released elements today looks 23:39 awesome yeah I played with it a bit it's 23:41 janky like all these tools jankier than 23:44 [ __ ] 23:49 [Music] 24:10 who's got questions who's got 24:14 questions well if you don't know who I 24:16 am you could have that question my 24:18 name's Kyle this is the AI learning lab 24:21 talk about AI 24:23 [ __ ] I think most of you know who I am 24:25 or you wouldn't be hanging out here 24:29 [Music] 24:32 finally got to play with Sora today 24:34 turns out if you've maxed your GPT 24:36 memory you can't do 24:40 anything paully Z what's up KS what's 24:43 happening paully 24:45 Z Joker has all kinds of questions yeah 24:49 but you none of your questions you can 24:52 ask in a public forum Joker that's the 24:54 problem with your questions 24:58 [Music] 25:17 I don't know much about coding but I'm 25:19 totally captivated by the capabilities 25:21 of Agents so Shani sh Shani go 25:27 to go to 25:32 um lovable 25:37 dodev lovable. 25:41 deev 25:45 and I made this 25:47 app in about two hours I don't I I can't 25:51 code I I have a software company but I 25:52 can't code I'm just the product guy I'm 25:54 like the vision the vision 25:57 guy I know 25:59 I know about software development but I 26:02 don't know how to code but if you go to 26:04 lovable. 26:06 deev 26:08 um you can just build [ __ ] like I this 26:11 is a an RSS reading news site that's got 26:15 you know different categories of news so 26:18 it goes and finds a bunch of news with 26:20 RSS feeds it then categorizes them into 26:24 these 26:25 categories um and then I don't know 26:28 makes it so that you can click on 26:33 [ __ ] um and it's it's cool it's got 26:36 responsive 26:38 design so see how it's it's two two rows 26:41 here now it's three now they're gone 26:44 like that's all part of it it's got this 26:47 cool sort of thing where you can see the 26:50 scrolling thing behind the header and 26:52 the 26:53 header like if you're on a phone and you 26:56 can't scroll the header you you can't 26:58 scroll the page so it Scrolls half to 27:00 header 27:01 up you can search for [ __ ] open 27:05 Ai and it just automatically finds all 27:08 the open AI 27:14 stories I mean come on it's got 27:16 rollovers although the rollovers now 27:19 fall behind the uh the page below so 27:23 that's bad but we can fix 27:26 that so go build [ __ ] 27:29 all right um have you ever watched Dr 27:32 waku video he came up to me through Dave 27:35 Shapiro videos he has a super 27:37 interesting AI video with 27:39 economics behaviorist behaviorist I have 27:42 not watched him no I haven't Dr wacu 27:47 that sounds cool perplexity choked on 27:50 Leonard's 27:51 start I think it's Leonard snart is it 27:54 snart or start it's snart 27:59 thanks for the info yeah um shovan just 28:02 go play with that thing it'll blow your 28:04 [ __ ] mind just I mean you literally 28:07 go in there and you tell it I want to 28:09 make an app that does XYZ and then it'll 28:12 make it then you're like well no it 28:14 doesn't do this and it's then it'll fix 28:16 that and then you're like yeah but when 28:18 you fix that you broke this and then 28:20 right and so it's just there's a really 28:23 funny video I saw today um hang 28:26 on um I wonder if I can find it 28:31 um uh coding 28:40 apps 28:42 [ __ ] there's there was a funny there was 28:44 a funny meme today a guy put out he goes 28:47 what what it's like coding with with 28:50 cursor and coding apps and it was just 28:52 like a row of old people at slot 28:54 machines in Vegas just like quickly 28:56 tapping the buttons 29:00 and that's that's totally what it's like 29:01 you just go in there like to get the the 29:04 corner radiuses of of these buttons to 29:07 be like this they were super round 29:10 before and then I said make them less 29:12 round and it made them 29:13 pointy and then like I I must have done 29:17 I don't know a [ __ ] dozen iterations 29:19 of this app just to get this corner 29:21 radius right and then there was like 29:23 information design in each one of these 29:25 cells and there was the color coding of 29:27 the cells and what information I wanted 29:30 where but like you just ask for it and 29:32 then you know eventually you run out of 29:35 tokens but but it's pretty slick like 29:39 this little scrolling Behavior where I 29:41 can I can scroll the whole 29:44 page up until the point where these 29:47 things hit the top and then they they uh 29:50 whatever it's called they 29:52 stick and then the bottom just keeps 29:54 scrolling like that's just all it just 29:57 did that 30:00 it's super legitimate how AI will affect 30:02 the world 30:04 economy oh wait it seems super 30:06 legitimate oh I see the video okay 30:10 cool he has a PHD in computer security 30:13 interesting bolt. DIY is the best one 30:17 and blackbox 30:18 doai but you need apis for the 30:21 llms yeah that's I mean the thing about 30:24 lovable is you don't need to set up 30:26 backend coding environments don't know 30:28 need to set up databases it just does it 30:31 all so if you're if you're if you're a 30:34 coder if you understand coding then go 30:37 use something like cursor or bolt um um 30:42 but if you're not if you just want to 30:43 make make a web app that works just go 30:45 to lovable um get lazy. a is another one 30:49 yep that's 30:53 right all right let's see let me go 30:57 unshare and reshare what am I looking 31:01 for I am looking for this right 31:10 yeah so one of the women 31:14 in how do I make this bigger can I make 31:17 this 31:18 bigger hold on hold on people just calm 31:22 down calm down 31:29 how do 31:36 I you can't zoom in on this that's 31:39 [ __ ] weird anyway all right whatever 31:42 let me share this so one of the women 31:50 in in AI Salon is a woman named Joy pie 31:54 I don't know if Joy's here 31:55 tonight Shani oh my God lovables in 31:58 insane I told you 32:02 dude it's insane it's [ __ ] 32:06 insane I I mean so 32:09 so I I don't know how long you've been 32:11 here but but what I was talking about 32:12 earlier is by the end of the year we're 32:14 going to have autonomous agents that are 32:16 going to be able to go out and do [ __ ] 32:17 like that for us right now we have to 32:20 invoke and manage all these tools and 32:22 it's a [ __ ] nightmare but if you're 32:25 willing to be hyper curious 32:28 the amount of [ __ ] that can you can just 32:30 do today is staggeringly powerful so Joy 32:36 pie is a filmmaker Joy's here awesome 32:39 Joy I I I haven't seen the whole thing 32:42 of this I just saw the beginning of it 32:44 I'm like oh my God this is so good um oh 32:47 I bet you're on on YouTube aren't 32:49 you let's see what's it called go 32:52 greatest of all trans okay I bet this is 32:57 on I bet it's on YouTube and then we 33:00 can we can see it over 33:10 there why did that not 33:14 copy paste what is going 33:18 on the hell is going on here people 33:25 [Music] 33:33 copy go over here paste there we go 33:42 boom yes it's here good Joy 33:47 py stop shut up okay going back over 33:52 here stopping tabs I know calm down calm 33:55 down all of you people with your 33:57 producer 34:00 degrees you're like you know I have a 34:03 degree in this I'm like I know I know I 34:06 understand how this 34:08 works 34:10 okay 34:15 sh okay there's 34:18 that look like 34:20 that all right fastic Bob tell him what 34:24 he's 34:24 won we haven't won anything it's it's 34:27 not a game 34:30 show anyway Joy pie Joy what did you do 34:34 again um you did this in minia Max okay 34:37 yes it's there on YouTube what what what 34:40 is your what is your like your like 20 34:42 or 30 year career again it's it's not 34:44 nursing but it's like it's it's 34:47 something crazy like that 34:51 right hang on joy joy and I are 34:55 communicating sleep Tech yeah so Joy's a 34:59 sleep technician right so she did this 35:01 video for the AI Salon I don't know 35:04 three months ago four months ago 35:05 something like that she started it a 35:07 while ago started working on it realized 35:09 she loved film making and she needed to 35:12 go learn some stuff so she went off and 35:15 like bought Da Vinci resolve and like 35:17 taught herself film 35:19 making she's not a 35:22 filmmaker and 35:24 yet yes she is because she's got taste 35:28 and she's got critical thinking she 35:30 realized she's always had stories to 35:32 tell but she's never had a way to tell 35:33 them and now she does so this 35:36 is her latest which look at that opening 35:40 image so [ __ ] cool all right here we 35:46 [Music] 35:53 go in a world where everyone's so basic 35:57 they I those who dare to make it I live 36:01 out loud they'll know my name I'll Flex 36:03 my fame stay in your lane amst the shade 36:07 and all the ha I'm Ving High won't take 36:10 the 36:16 bait I'm the goat AIC 36:19 celebration I light it up for 36:21 inspiration I'll Stand proud if they 36:23 throw shade iow my VI I won't be made I 36:28 miss the shade and all the I'm girl 36:33 [Music] 36:38 get they try to roast me say I'm sus but 36:42 I'm to fire can't mess with us I dance 36:45 to beats no time won't 37:12 be shade in all the hate I'm High girl 37:17 getting 37:19 [Music] 37:24 late 37:26 beautiful mid Journey Luma minia Max 37:30 runway sunno for the music Photoshop for 37:33 the editing upscaling with topaz and 37:36 Korea video editing Da Vinci resolve all 37:39 aim tools or or large language model 37:41 tools 37:43 um Claude and chat 37:46 GPT now I gotta say that this is 37:51 actually really generous of 37:54 joy to put the credits in here these are 37:57 the tools she use 37:59 so so you want to go figure this [ __ ] 38:01 out you get hyper curious and you go 38:04 start 38:05 playing you go start 38:10 playing and you know what's 38:13 funny when you when you play with a tool 38:16 like mid 38:18 Journey 38:19 um or or any of the image generation 38:22 tools 38:24 really but you when you play with tools 38:26 like this like like this was a this was 38:29 a style reference I found on on Twitter 38:32 and I did it with my my little classic 38:34 muscle car thing but it's got like I I 38:37 love that look and feel like it feels 38:38 like a 70s Beach poster you know pin 38:43 from Joy I spent most of my time writing 38:45 the lyrics love the 38:48 lyrics spent most of my time writing the 38:52 lyrics but the but the way this works it 38:55 so good isn't it so congratulations Joy 38:57 just absolutely Ely 38:59 wonderful but the way this 39:01 works is if if you haven't done a lot 39:05 with generative 39:08 AI if you're sitting on it from the 39:10 outside what it feels like is someone 39:13 pushed a button and out squirted that 39:16 video 39:18 no joy had some idea in her head or even 39:23 crazier sometimes is like you can do 39:26 stuff in mid Journey like let me show 39:27 you so oh wait I'm not sharing let me 39:29 show you mid Journey here for a second 39:32 stop screen present Let Me Go 39:34 full screen oh I was just talking about 39:37 the here was the the car thing I was 39:40 telling you 39:41 about like that style right there Isn't 39:44 that cool aren't those cool just [ __ ] 39:48 kickass 39:50 images and that's like this is the 39:52 basically the same 39:54 prompt but that's a different style 39:56 reference and that's a different style 39:57 style reference and that's a different 39:59 style 40:00 reference but this one like speaks to me 40:04 that one's 40:07 cool black box is a style 40:11 reference 40:16 um so these are super cool so one of the 40:19 things that can happen with something 40:20 like mid 40:24 journey is maybe you don't have a Clear 40:26 Vision about what you you 40:29 want and so you can just let it do its 40:32 thing so so we might do something like 40:33 this we'll say 40:39 um 40:41 cognitive super 40:44 no hyper 40:49 abundance that that's a phrase that 40:52 David Shapiro has been talking about 40:54 that like this is the era we're entering 40:56 is an era where we're we're all 40:59 augmented to the point that human brains 41:02 are the bottleneck to to Innovation so 41:05 we just give it up we let the machines 41:07 go innovate we direct them but he calls 41:10 that cognitive hyper abundance all right 41:13 so let's just see 41:14 what mid Journey thinks of that phrase 41:17 and then we'll go dash dash 41:20 sref which stands for style reference 41:23 the dash dash says I want you to use 41:25 this tool and the tool is a style 41:27 reference and then rather than a 41:28 specific one we're just going to put 41:31 random and then I'm going to 41:35 copy 41:37 this and we're going to do these as 16 41:39 by9 landscape and I'm going to put 41:41 stylization to zero because we just want 41:43 to see what the references look like and 41:46 so I'm going to go boom then I'm going 41:48 to click on the title and I'm going to 41:50 go in here and go paste srf random oops 41:53 I got to put a space in there I didn't 41:55 copy the space because I'm a lose a 41:58 baby bang click on the 42:02 title paste oh it's it's I got to add 42:05 the space apparently click on the title 42:08 add the space paste boom click on the 42:12 title add the space paste boom and now 42:17 we can just go down and we can just 42:18 start looking at these things all right 42:21 you may love that I hate that I think 42:24 that's awful all right let's see the 42:26 next one all right fine whatever hate 42:29 it that's kind of cool that's kind of an 42:32 interesting 42:33 style and you'll 42:37 notice we now have here for this one we 42:40 have a style reference with this actual 42:42 number and if I click on it I get that 42:45 so rather than cognitive hyper abundance 42:48 why don't I put 42:55 optimism and so it's going to have this 42:58 kind of 42:59 style it's going to have this kind of 43:01 style this is cognitive hyper 43:04 abundance but the new thing's going to 43:07 be optimism in that 43:16 style and then maybe you're like I 43:18 [ __ ] love that fish or maybe you're 43:21 like hey that looks like a this looks 43:24 like a book that I would 43:27 like to 43:28 do or a music 43:32 video so you can you can kind of surf 43:35 the latent space is what they call it 43:37 you can surf sort of all the 43:40 different crazy looks and feels that are 43:43 in here by just sort of randomly 43:44 invoking them and just pull it up until 43:47 you're happy with it find something you 43:49 like and go like these are 43:52 amazing Love 43:54 That Let's upscale that one see how that 43:57 thing looks upscaled because I bet it's 43:59 going to look [ __ ] 44:02 sweet a book will be nice you mentions 44:06 credits on the music video How do you 44:09 guys deal with credits when you use AI 44:11 okay shobani here's the deal here's the 44:15 deal with video tools right now they are 44:18 all ridiculously [ __ ] expensive 44:23 so because we're 44:26 early most of these video companies have 44:29 what's called a creative partner program 44:32 Joy's in a couple of them I'm in a 44:34 couple of them Kelly Bosch is in like 44:37 you can apply for the creative partner 44:38 program if you get accepted into the 44:41 creative partner program like Runway the 44:43 reason I got accepted into the creative 44:45 partner program for Runway was I made a 44:48 comment on a Runway video that the CEO 44:50 commented on and then I interacted with 44:53 him a little bit and I dm'd him and I 44:55 said let me into the program he he did 44:57 so like you got to be clever but you got 44:59 to apply for all the creative partner 45:01 programs and then they'll give you like 45:03 Runway gives you like a million credits 45:05 and you you get ele you get access to 45:07 new tools and [ __ ] like that um so so 45:10 that's the the the real answer to the 45:12 question is you figure out a way to not 45:14 have to pay for your credits 45:17 um the video tools right now are so 45:20 janky all of them to to a tool they're 45:24 just not great but 45:29 if you can get your head around a tool 45:31 and start to get good at it and figure 45:34 out how to navigate back and forth 45:36 between making images as your base image 45:38 and making videos it can be really 45:39 really 45:40 powerful 45:45 um 45:47 wait what's it mean I think they mean 45:50 the joys end credits like 45:54 attribution wait what did you actually 45:56 mean did you oh you didn't mean credits 45:58 like like credits credits you meant like 46:01 these 46:02 credits what about these 46:09 credits these are just the tools that 46:12 she 46:14 used or maybe I'm being a dumb Dum her 46:17 name's 46:18 there do you oh do I give credit to the 46:23 Ai No my my 46:28 here's my philosophy on 46:31 this I 46:35 don't we're we're in a we're in a really 46:37 funny stage of AI right now everyone's 46:41 trying to figure this [ __ ] out what Joy 46:43 is doing here is actually very very 46:46 generous in my opinion she doesn't have 46:48 to do this what she's doing here is 46:51 she's giving anyone who likes 46:54 this the keys to at least know what 46:57 tools she's using now will they be able 46:59 to replicate what she did no because 47:02 they won't have her vision they won't 47:03 have her taste they won't have her 47:04 critical thinking they won't use her 47:06 exact you know tools but it but it at 47:09 least gives you a start it's my opinion 47:13 that if you produce something that is 47:15 creatively 47:17 sound you have the choice whether or not 47:20 you want to tell anyone how you made 47:23 that like like there there's this whole 47:25 there's this whole sort of 47:28 narrative right now about well is 47:31 something AI made or 47:34 not whose [ __ ] business is it if it's 47:37 AI made now if you're trying to scam 47:40 someone and you're trying to create 47:42 disinformation then it's important that 47:44 we 47:45 know but like that video that she just 47:48 did with all the people the cool fashion 47:51 show she could have done that with with 47:55 actors on green screen she could have 47:56 done with that with actors and practical 47:58 sets she could have done that with 3D 48:05 programs we don't ask music directors 48:08 what filter they used well we might if 48:10 we're 48:11 geeky but they'll be like I I use what I 48:14 use that that's my look I'm not going to 48:16 tell you I think it's perfectly 48:19 appropriate to not tell anyone what what 48:21 credits you used like it's none other 48:24 business I'm willing to put my name on a 48:27 piece of creative work who cares how I 48:29 made 48:32 it when you when you write an email do 48:35 you 48:36 disclose that you used grammarly to fix 48:40 your 48:40 sentences because you were you know 48:43 [ __ ] around during English class in 48:45 10th 48:48 Grade yeah this is one of the things we 48:51 talk about in the AI 48:54 Salon is 49:01 this play first mindfully create 49:03 generously 49:05 lead Joy played figured out how to use 49:09 all these 49:10 tools then she said I've got some 49:12 stories I want to tell mindfully created 49:15 and then because she's cool and generous 49:18 she's generously leading and sharing how 49:21 she did stuff in the salon putting that 49:23 on YouTube putting the tools she used in 49:25 the credits that's pretty 49:29 bitching um I write in word and I would 49:32 not give credit to Microsoft Word 49:34 exactly 49:36 exactly so oh let me show you another 49:39 thing about about um about mid Journey 49:43 I'll show you a new thing okay so so 49:46 here I showed you how to just find 49:47 random [ __ ] right here's random looks 49:49 and feels they have this new thing if 49:51 you go to this personalized tab they 49:53 have mood boards and mood boards you can 49:56 upload 49:58 images that you've 50:03 created so like oh these are Creations 50:06 hang 50:07 on um can I click on this yeah so these 50:12 are photographs that I took like with a 50:15 camera 50:17 right and can I scroll through these no 50:21 of course 50:23 not you know I got a flare for the 50:25 dramatic I like having 50:27 really 50:30 dramatic clouds 50:33 and mamatas clouds 50:39 there right so I've got a style it's 50:41 like high contrast hi 50:44 drama 50:46 right so these are my photos that I took 50:48 with my camera and I hand edited I 50:51 became a filmmaker because someone 50:53 shared so I passed that on for Good 50:56 Karma cuz Joy's a good 50:58 woman be like 51:01 Joy but don't 51:07 feel here's my strong advice Joy puts 51:11 credits the tools in there as a gift to 51:14 other AI creators not as an 51:17 apology for having used AI tools there's 51:21 a big 51:23 difference it is my strong deep deep 51:26 opinion do not [ __ ] apologize for 51:29 using AI to express 51:33 yourself it's no different than using 51:36 Microsoft Word to express 51:39 yourself why why would anyone care they 51:43 wouldn't the only reason they care about 51:45 AI is people are afraid of it they're 51:47 freaked out by it but it's the same 51:51 [ __ ] it's a 51:53 tool all right anyway back to mood 51:55 boards 51:57 so I took all these pretty pictures this 51:59 is now a mood 52:01 board that I can 52:04 now if I scroll down here I got my 52:07 little skies I say copy code and then I 52:10 can say 52:14 Sunset over the 52:17 mighty 52:20 Mississippi River in lisiana 52:33 and now this is going to make some image 52:36 well four images that are like my 52:47 images wait that's correct but I do 52:49 appreciate the tools and the 52:51 development professionals yeah 52:55 exactly thank thank you man I wish I 52:57 could stay on tonight but I got to run I 53:00 always get nuggets from you good thank 53:02 you I appreciate the kind words so look 53:05 so here's things 53:07 that are not my photos but they feel 53:10 really familiar to 53:12 me and like they're not quite right you 53:15 know so what I might do is I might do 53:18 something like let me go in here and 53:20 stylize these let me push this up to 53:24 300 take the same prompt take the same 53:27 mood 53:29 board and see if I can get them a little 53:31 more funky because these are these are a 53:33 little tame these are little like 53:35 postcards you'd get at 53:38 the appal Lucha Bridge overpass 53:49 Museum I I want something a little more 53:52 edgy I want my clouds a little more 53:54 dramatic 53:58 all right so that went a little too far 54:00 these are a little too dramatic but 54:02 they're [ __ ] cool look at that 54:07 [ __ ] how cool is that that one's 54:09 actually really 54:12 cool you know and sometimes that's what 54:14 that's what [ __ ] looks like so let's go 54:16 back in let's knock this back to 54:20 150 try again bang bang bang 54:30 300 stylize if you go 54:33 to the you click on the little tools 54:36 over here to the right this where you 54:37 change aspect 54:39 ratio you can add in 54:42 weirdness 300 54:54 stylization these are still a little bit 54:56 too 54:58 atic but like that was pretty cool that 55:01 feels like something I would shoot and 55:03 something I would 55:09 edit now here's a cool new thing you can 55:11 do check this out go back to 55:15 personalize I can take the code from my 55:19 skies and then I've got another thing 55:22 here which is my 55:24 street street photography 55:28 which also kind of has some dramatic 55:31 Skies what's that is that broken no 55:34 that's 55:36 that that's one of my favorite 55:40 photos so I can combine 55:44 these so there I've got 55:47 one now I'm going to add this 55:50 code and then I'm going to add 55:55 in that's black and white street 55:57 photography all right we'll add in all 55:59 three of 56:00 these so now I've got three mood boards 56:03 in here mid Journey just added this 56:07 today so we'll do 56:11 um let's see New York City street 56:17 performer at 56:25 Sunset um 56:40 downtown and now this GNA mash up my 56:43 Skies my street signs and my black and 56:46 white people photography is it going to 56:49 be any good I don't know 56:58 Incognito I'm fighting an art 57:00 organization over 57:01 this yeah art organizations are the 57:05 worst I bet there's people in Incognito 57:08 I bet there's people in that art 57:10 organization um that that were fighting 57:13 against digital photographs when digital 57:16 cameras first came out that's not real 57:19 photography if you're not actually using 57:22 silver Hy suspended in an acetate film 57:27 uh developed in in chemicals that cause 57:30 cancer uh that's not photography okay 57:33 okay photography was invented in in 57:36 1872 by by William Morrison 57:41 Kodak George 57:43 Eastman yeah that's photography oh 57:46 pixels yeah oh I'm sorry you push a 57:48 button and it and it turns pixels or 57:50 certain color yeah no I don't think 57:53 that's photography 57:57 that's what Kodak said to the guy that 57:59 invented the Dig digital camera and then 58:02 the whole [ __ ] art World said the 58:04 digital photographs weren't 58:06 photographs until they 58:09 were it's exactly where we are with this 58:12 [ __ ] it's exactly where we are with this 58:14 [ __ ] 58:17 um you know go back to the 80s with 58:19 sampling music well that's not real me 58:22 they're just they're just sampling 58:24 they're just stealing other people's 58:25 music 58:27 right they had to deal with the rights 58:29 and the attribution and all that stuff 58:31 that took whatever it took a decade 15 58:33 20 years to get that worked out but they 58:35 got it worked out same thing will happen 58:36 here we'll figure out attribution we'll 58:38 figure out 58:40 compensation but it's just another 58:41 [ __ ] 58:43 tool but like look at these 58:48 like these these 58:52 photographs I did not take but they feel 58:54 really familiar to me that's the the 58:57 thing about 58:58 ai ai work is that when you hit 59:02 something that 59:05 is in line with who you are creatively 59:08 you'll recognize it instantly and then 59:10 you run down that rabbit hole it's like 59:13 any other [ __ ] creative 59:17 Endeavor right if you're an illustrator 59:20 and you go to the art 59:21 store there's a certain kind of colored 59:24 pencil that when you draw with it you're 59:25 like ooh 59:27 that speaks to 59:29 me same [ __ ] 59:31 here same [ __ ] 59:34 here the Charleston Bridge great 59:40 fantastic I I did not know that I just 59:43 picked some random 59:45 thing some photographers say that when 59:48 too much some photographers say that 59:51 when too much 59:54 filtering well yeah like yeah like my my 59:58 photographic style is is like I'm sure 1:00:02 there's photographers that [ __ ] hate 1:00:04 this right like look at how 1:00:08 oversaturated and over vignetted and 1:00:12 over contrasty these things are but 1:00:14 that's what I 1:00:16 like like for 1:00:22 me you know like the people out there 1:00:24 smoking a cigarette in the in the little 1:00:26 light there and like making the sky look 1:00:28 like it's a swimming pool up here and 1:00:30 and making the sign [ __ ] just pop out 1:00:33 and just feel like 1:00:35 it's you know grabbing you I love this 1:00:39 other people hate this they they want 1:00:41 something way more subtle and 1:00:44 realistic but that's just your creative 1:00:46 style 1:00:49 right that's just the way it 1:00:52 goes that's creative work 1:01:01 anyway all right what do we got 1:01:05 here let's do 1:01:08 um we'll do 1:01:11 um 1:01:14 plastic bucket 1:01:18 drummer New York 1:01:20 City 1:01:22 Subway and then we'll go 1:01:26 colored street signs black and 1:01:32 white hang 1:01:35 on profile 1:01:41 um copy code there we 1:01:47 go copy 1:01:50 code 1:01:52 boom explore 1:02:00 it's 1:02:01 escapism well it's escapism until it's 1:02:03 self 1:02:05 expression right I mean that's the way 1:02:08 it goes with with any creative Endeavor 1:02:11 you basically dick around and you dick 1:02:13 around and you dick around and then at 1:02:14 some point either something inspires you 1:02:17 or you've got a burning story in your 1:02:20 head that you want to get out and you 1:02:23 need to find a way to express it 1:02:27 see like I feel like these didn't work 1:02:29 these don't really feel like my 1:02:33 photos and I don't really like them 1:02:37 but if I go back here and I just say I 1:02:41 just want the street 1:02:43 photography my black and white street 1:02:45 photography and I go here and I go black 1:02:49 and white 1:02:52 photograph 1:02:54 of dancers on 1:02:57 on New York City 1:03:03 subway this will probably create 1:03:06 something I 1:03:13 like oh for sure HDR has a good place 1:03:16 but it's not in real estate pictures 1:03:18 taken at noon no exactly yeah no mine 1:03:21 are mine are over HDR for sure but I'm 1:03:24 doing mine not not as 1:03:27 commercial photography I'm doing mine as 1:03:29 art and it's just art the way I see 1:03:32 [Music] 1:03:37 it see this feels like something I would 1:03:39 take that feels like something I would 1:03:42 take that doesn't that sort of does but 1:03:46 that feels like 1:03:51 me like look at that 1:03:59 and then look at 1:04:01 these 1:04:05 right that was in 1:04:07 Austin aren't they 1:04:09 great I was sitting down like picking up 1:04:12 a sandwich wrapper or something like 1:04:14 that and these guys were walking toward 1:04:16 me and I was just like oh [ __ ] just 1:04:18 flipped my camera up 1:04:31 airport 1:04:32 [Laughter] 1:04:38 fight they're so 1:04:40 [Laughter] 1:04:43 defeated I love street 1:04:45 photography they're just so like he's so 1:04:47 [ __ ] done 1:04:54 [Laughter] 1:04:56 oh man oh she busted me she's like you 1:05:00 are not taking our 1:05:10 picture that's one of my 1:05:14 favorites oh man all right 1:05:20 so so what do we do here um 1:05:24 [Laughter] 1:05:30 so here I am at 1:05:32 cing so King's a video tool They just 1:05:35 added this new thing if you go to image 1:05:37 to 1:05:40 video 1:05:42 wait they changeed something here wait I 1:05:44 I got to reload this I don't think this 1:05:46 is right 1:06:02 did anyone notice the message changed 1:06:04 inside Tik Tock I'm in beta mode I did 1:06:07 not notice that okay so so cing now has 1:06:11 this thing called 1:06:13 elements so if I go to image to video I 1:06:16 can either do 1:06:18 frames where I can start with a starting 1:06:23 frame so here's 1:06:27 let's not do that 1:06:28 one let's go to 1:06:46 [Music] 1:06:49 desktop all right there's that one so I 1:06:51 can start with that 1:06:59 and so see it's got a start frame and 1:07:00 then I could grab an end frame so maybe 1:07:02 in in mid journey I start with that 1:07:05 image and then I have another image of 1:07:07 it way F Farther Along right you know 1:07:10 into the into the factory but you can 1:07:12 also just put a start image and then you 1:07:14 can describe it so I can just say 1:07:22 camera tracks right 1:07:31 you can put in negative prompts like I 1:07:33 don't want it doing 1:07:37 whatever and then you just say generate 1:07:39 and so off it'll 1:07:41 go but they've now added this new thing 1:07:44 called elements and elements I can add 1:07:47 in four 1:07:50 different um 1:07:53 images so if I go look for C 1:08:07 all right that 1:08:15 dude we're gonna do that dude in that 1:08:18 place we'll just do those two things so 1:08:21 then I'm going to say um 1:08:26 all right I'm going to 1:08:30 say man 1:08:34 humor 1:08:35 usle walks through 1:08:39 an abandoned 1:08:46 Factory 1:08:48 passing an 1:08:54 orange car 1:08:56 um I haven't done this very much this is 1:08:59 one of those things where to learn to 1:09:01 use this tool 1:09:03 well I'm gonna say orange muscle car 1:09:06 because I haven't had good luck with 1:09:08 this so far but it will look like that 1:09:11 dude that sort of looks like 1:09:13 me so we'll say generate 1:09:18 that we're thrilled by our overwhelming 1:09:20 response for you guys wanting to use our 1:09:22 tool estimated wait time 10 minutes okay 1:09:25 so that's that so so this is cing so 1:09:28 cing clling ai.com is one of the better 1:09:31 tools um the kind of the more famous One 1:09:35 right now is Runway Runway 1:09:39 ml um there's all sorts of things you 1:09:42 can do in it however it's got this new 1:09:44 thing called 1:09:46 frames which is um still 1:09:50 images so like here's some still 1:09:53 images that you can take anyone of 1:09:57 these so these were generated inside 1:10:00 Runway so I can take any one of 1:10:06 these and I can say 1:10:09 use and I'm going to use it for a video 1:10:28 except why did it 1:10:29 not why did it not use the image oh it's 1:10:33 broken huh 1:10:36 weird all right let's go out let's go go 1:10:39 out and come back 1:10:44 in no that's not what we 1:10:49 want luminous planetary here we go 1:10:56 this is good no this is broken too what 1:10:59 the [ __ ] 1:11:02 Runway these are all 1:11:04 broken what's going on 1:11:08 man I bet I got to relog 1:11:12 in see us tab 1:11:18 hoarders we just leave [ __ ] 1:11:21 running it pisses the rest of you off 1:11:23 okay yeah that's what I needed to do all 1:11:25 right so I'm going to use this now now 1:11:27 it'll show up okay so there we go so now 1:11:29 I can go 1:11:34 jellyfish float in the 1:11:40 waves 1:11:46 elegantly and we'll do five seconds I 1:11:48 don't need to do 10 1:11:51 seconds and then I think that just blops 1:11:54 it down here at the bottom so now now 1:11:55 it's in 1:11:56 Q um and this is basically how it goes 1:11:59 with these 1:12:01 tools you do a lot of 1:12:03 waiting oh is this done all right here 1:12:06 we 1:12:09 go that's not what I ask it to do but 1:12:13 it's it's fine except the wheels are not 1:12:19 rolling it's like God damn it 1:12:25 the front wheels are not turning the 1:12:27 back wheels are not 1:12:30 rolling it's on a weird 1:12:32 angle it's like it was in an accident in 1:12:36 [Laughter] 1:12:39 1974 physics 1:12:43 my this is what's called prompt Co 1:12:47 prompt coherence what I asked for was 1:12:49 camera track right which is this right 1:12:52 the camera going across the back of the 1:12:54 car what's it doing the car is running 1:12:56 through the 1:12:58 factory that's bad prompt Co 1:13:02 coherence all right here's our Runway 1:13:06 jellyfish let's see if this is any 1:13:10 good no no it's 1:13:14 not it's bad it's bad and this is here's 1:13:19 one of the problems with it this I'm 1:13:21 sure you feel like this pain with 1:13:22 coating where it's like you spend a lot 1:13:25 of money to generate cycles of [ __ ] that 1:13:28 you just you it's just literally not 1:13:30 usable so like what I would do in this 1:13:33 case is I'd be like okay the the 1:13:34 starting image has got to be way more 1:13:36 realistic and it can't you know these 1:13:38 things can't feel like they're floating 1:13:40 above the water or it will put them 1:13:42 above the water like it did here so but 1:13:45 anyway that's how you do it I mean it's 1:13:47 this one this one came out pretty good 1:13:49 this is 10 seconds of a nice tracking 1:13:51 shot in a Crystal Cave 1:13:57 so when you see a video like 1:14:02 Joy's like this 1:14:06 thing with all these shots and all 1:14:10 this cool 1:14:12 movement I promise you there are 1:14:17 probably 20 or 1:14:20 30 videos that are in the trash can 1:14:24 somewhere where the woman's arm went 1:14:27 through her head or she she grew a leg 1:14:29 out of her 1:14:33 ass I saw Kelly Bosch today it was cool 1:14:37 yeah she's cool I like 1:14:41 Kelly all right so cling AI Runway 1:14:46 ml 1:14:49 um in chat GPT they add they now added 1:14:53 Sora it's like an AI blooper reel it is 1:14:57 like well like generating [ __ ] in AI 1:14:59 video is totally like an AI blooper reel 1:15:03 cuz for every video that someone shows 1:15:05 you like oh this model's so amazing it 1:15:07 really understands 1:15:09 physics yeah 1:15:12 no none of them do none of them do will 1:15:16 they yes are they gonna be absolutely 1:15:19 [ __ ] amazing yes are they right now 1:15:24 well consider the 1:15:27 alternative if Joy wanted to make this 1:15:31 video without 1:15:35 AI first of all she probably wouldn't 1:15:38 conceive it right because it's it's 1:15:41 doing stuff that's super [ __ ] out 1:15:44 there but even if she did conceive it 1:15:46 and said I want to go do all this well 1:15:49 all right go find a bunch of models go 1:15:51 find some makeup and then we're either 1:15:53 going to build the set for 1:15:56 this or we're going to do it in 1:15:59 CGI and we're going to have to pay 3D 1:16:02 modelers 1:16:04 and rigging people and key framers and 1:16:09 whatever the [ __ ] you 1:16:10 do 1:16:13 right but because of AI she can make 1:16:16 this so are the tools jankier than [ __ ] 1:16:20 yes would it be nice if they were 1:16:22 perfect 1:16:24 yes here's the here's the here's the 1:16:27 Catch 22 of that the minute the tools 1:16:29 are 1:16:31 perfect the opportunity the massive 1:16:33 opportunity will be gone There's an 1:16:36 opportunity right now in every single AI 1:16:39 tool for you to establish yourself as a 1:16:42 player in that space and you'll get 1:16:45 trusted for being being able to do good 1:16:47 movies or good music or good writing or 1:16:50 good business plans or good spreadsheet 1:16:53 analysis or good data analys is or good 1:16:58 coding when the tools get so good that 1:17:02 any idiot like me can come in and do 1:17:04 something Banger like that even if it's 1:17:07 not my 1:17:08 domain well that's when the competition 1:17:11 is everyone in the 1:17:12 world internal Gemini running on AI 1:17:16 studio is my main tool right now no 1:17:18 limits is good stuff oh that's that's 1:17:21 very cool Pate hey Pate um do you have 1:17:25 any sway in that company of yours could 1:17:28 you get me access to um to vo because I 1:17:33 got nothing I I got no video effects I 1:17:35 don't even have 1:17:36 V1 it's really annoying if I go to labs. 1:17:42 goole.com and I know you don't really 1:17:44 probably give a [ __ ] about this but if 1:17:46 you know anyone if I go to 1:17:49 create um video effect join weit list I 1:17:53 just got weight list access baby got 1:17:56 nothing I got nothing driving me 1:18:01 crazy driving me CRA all right well 1:18:05 there you have 1:18:06 it was that good carefully curating the 1:18:10 one good one from the 100 train wrecks 1:18:12 yep 1:18:15 exactly wait it said sign in to get a 1:18:18 sneak peek no it didn't did 1:18:22 it but I was signed in 1:18:31 Labs video effects join wait list sign 1:18:35 in to get a sneak peek 1:18:39 yeah see I'm signed in up here and 1:18:43 that's my individual account so it 1:18:46 should be there but I can let me switch 1:18:48 out sign 1:18:51 out sign in you don't have to do that 1:18:54 I'm I'm 1:18:55 uh I'm not typing 1:18:57 anything sign 1:18:59 in 1:19:04 me nothing nothing honey 1:19:09 anyway that page is janky for V vo is 1:19:13 there another place I can get to vo Pate 1:19:15 that you know 1:19:17 of I have no pull I could look to see if 1:19:21 there's a way to apply for Access 1:19:22 internally yeah if you if you'd be 1:19:24 willing to I I mean if if if there's 1:19:27 anyone you could talk to or something 1:19:29 you could do you could say like my 1:19:31 intent is to demo this to this community 1:19:35 like that's why I want access to it if 1:19:37 you could only B buy one AI tool to 1:19:40 start out with which one would you buy 1:19:41 chat GPT by 1:19:45 far because chat GPT you can do data 1:19:48 analysis you can do 1:19:51 um advanced voice where you can talk to 1:19:54 it it can see 1:19:55 you can upload images to it which it can 1:19:58 analyze and 1:20:00 interpret um it codes it makes images 1:20:05 you now get access to Sora it makes 1:20:08 videos um the only thing it doesn't make 1:20:10 is music right now what are you doing 1:20:12 tonight I was just showing off um a 1:20:15 little bit of mid journey and a little 1:20:16 bit of uh I showed two video tools I 1:20:19 showed cling and 1:20:21 Runway um so just a little bit of that 1:20:26 uses up tokens on repetitiveness and 1:20:29 nonsense but it's still better than chat 1:20:30 GPT for me oh what oh Claude yeah some 1:20:34 people like Claude the the problem with 1:20:36 Claude is it's not connected to the 1:20:37 internet and and uh it doesn't have a 1:20:40 lot of the other stuff it's got some 1:20:42 things that chat GPT doesn't 1:20:45 but I'm gonna go with here here's why I 1:20:48 would go with chat GPT I'm going to go 1:20:51 with the company that just raised half a 1:20:53 trillion dollars to build their data 1:20:57 Center Vicky you want to borrow my VO2 1:21:01 that'd be nice but I'd have to log in 1:21:03 with your uh your your Google and then 1:21:05 I'll go screw up all your Google Docs 1:21:07 you'll be 1:21:10 pissed do you host your own AI I do not 1:21:14 um I so this channel I primarily focus 1:21:19 on Commercial generative AI tools I'm 1:21:23 not generally dealing with install in 1:21:25 models open source models things like 1:21:27 that they get it gets far too much into 1:21:30 the weeds in ter in terms of having to 1:21:32 configure servers and things like that 1:21:35 my interest is the 1:21:37 98.5% of human beings that are not 1:21:40 developers them using AI all right 1:21:44 um but I think that the the like the the 1:21:49 models are getting so good right now I'm 1:21:51 kind of tempted to run some stuff 1:21:53 locally but um it's it's just it's it's 1:21:57 it's enough of a headache trying to keep 1:21:59 up with what's what's out there um 1:22:03 anyway all 1:22:05 right if it starts making music and 1:22:09 video from chat gbt it's game over open 1:22:11 AI 4.0 there are so many there are there 1:22:15 are too many of 1:22:17 everything have you have Vicky come up 1:22:19 and demo demo it she could do that 1:22:21 although she doesn't like being on stage 1:22:23 I don't want to I don't want to make it 1:22:26 weird hey Vicky hey Vicky I know you're 1:22:30 modding but come up here Could you um 1:22:33 all right I'm gonna get out of here 1:22:34 everybody 1:22:36 um let's 1:22:41 see so then you focus on more prompt 1:22:50 injection yeah we're we're a real hacker 1:22:52 crowd here no 1:22:55 we we we we focus on on you know 1:23:01 creating right whether it's creating an 1:23:03 application or creating a movie or 1:23:05 creating images or creating words or 1:23:08 creating code or creating 1:23:11 analysis using prompting so it's not 1:23:13 prompt 1:23:15 injection I'm not talking hacking yeah 1:23:18 if you're just talking yeah it's it's 1:23:20 mostly like well it's a 1:23:22 combination okay so what this channel is 1:23:24 is a com combination of maybe philosophy 1:23:27 about AI like what's coming and what 1:23:29 should we do about it future of 1:23:32 work it's about how do you use these 1:23:35 tools which does involve prompting and 1:23:37 then it's about what are these tools 1:23:39 capable of and where are the boundaries 1:23:41 right are they really good at like are 1:23:45 any of these tools worldclass at 1:23:47 anything and I would say they're 1:23:50 starting to get close but no not a 1:23:53 single AI tool right now now is world 1:23:56 class at anything within the next year I 1:23:59 think we'll probably be there within the 1:24:00 next three years we'll definitely be 1:24:02 there where these tools are going to be 1:24:04 better than most people probably the 1:24:08 best people at most 1:24:10 things um prompting is a thing for AI 1:24:14 yes it is it is the 1:24:17 thing Abracadabra as I speak so I 1:24:22 create Okay so so this Saturday 1:24:26 afternoon let me share my 1:24:29 screen Brandon if you could pop this 1:24:32 up if you come to the AI 1:24:35 Salon which is 1:24:40 at this address go there and then click 1:24:45 on the thing that says join our 1:24:47 community and that will take you over to 1:24:49 this 1:24:51 site um there there's a a handy little 1:24:55 sort of seven-step Welcome process that 1:24:59 you can go through if you want to if you 1:25:00 want to get up to speed 1:25:02 quickly and then if you scroll down 1:25:05 there's this thing called clubs and hubs 1:25:07 and one of these AI mechanics with 1:25:10 Pate um is having a class this Saturday 1:25:15 so Pate works for Google um he's having 1:25:17 a class this Saturday on demystifying AI 1:25:23 and 1:25:27 where are the posts here are the posts 1:25:30 yeah demystifying AI so it's this 1:25:33 Saturday from 2: to 1:25:35 3M Mountain Standard 1:25:38 Time um and he's going to talk about the 1:25:41 difference between deep learning and 1:25:42 machine or you know traditional machine 1:25:44 learning and deep learning um so if you 1:25:47 want to talk to someone who actually 1:25:48 knows what the [ __ ] they're talking 1:25:49 about with this AI stuff go there now 1:25:52 tomorrow night 1:25:55 right above mechanics Guild is AI life 1:25:58 hacks with Brandon and CLA or CLA and 1:26:01 Brandon I think I think Brandon went in 1:26:04 there and I think he switched 1:26:06 that because he's aggressive he's 1:26:08 aggressive like that I think Claire was 1:26:11 first we change it daily oh that's 1:26:16 funny that's awesome um and what this is 1:26:20 is this just like people that are doing 1:26:22 cool [ __ ] with AI um so they've got a 1:26:25 meeting tomorrow so go to the AI Salon 1:26:27 join it there's really cool showoff 1:26:29 areas where you can show off your work 1:26:31 you can learn about the 1:26:33 tools um all that sort of stuff but 1:26:36 anyway yeah that's the AI Salon okay now 1:26:39 the other thing to go check out is are 1:26:41 you ready from ai.com are you ready 1:26:45 number four ai.com 1:26:47 um this is a class that Vicky and Anne 1:26:51 Murphy and I are developing right now 1:26:54 the Target is to launch this thing 1:26:57 February 1 and it's an AI Readiness 1:27:01 training so we did a thing three weeks 1:27:03 ago called AI Festivus where we had 34 1:27:06 speakers and 24 hours of programming 1:27:09 over two days we kind of took the best 1:27:11 of that and and pulled the themes out of 1:27:15 it because one of the things that 1:27:17 happened during AI festivas is that all 1:27:20 of the speakers 1:27:22 independently chose to not really talk 1:27:24 about the tools but talked more about 1:27:26 how they think about the tools and how 1:27:28 they determine what they want to do and 1:27:30 how they think about Ai and how they 1:27:32 think about the 1:27:33 world and it was very much about being 1:27:37 prepared for what's coming as opposed to 1:27:40 here's how to use a bunch of tools so 1:27:42 I'm really excited about that so um 1:27:46 we'll have pricing and more details up 1:27:50 on this site at some point in the 1:27:52 probably the next week or so the goal is 1:27:55 to launch it February 1 all 1:27:57 right so that's that 1:28:02 now yeah tomorrow tomorrow's 1:28:06 Wednesday so tomorrow what we're going 1:28:09 to do is we're g to play with this tool 1:28:11 called jelly pod and what jelly pod is 1:28:14 if you if you've heard of notebook LM 1:28:16 has this podcast maker in it where you 1:28:19 upload a bunch of documents to it and 1:28:22 you say make audio overview and it makes 1:28:24 like an NP PR style podcast well jelly 1:28:26 pod allows you to design your own voices 1:28:30 and create your own kind of podcast from 1:28:32 the ground up so we're gonna play with 1:28:33 that tomorrow all right so that should 1:28:36 be 1:28:37 fun all 1:28:38 right let's see what P's saying here 1:28:42 these first eight or so are the baby 1:28:44 steps towards llms by the way but 1:28:47 starting with the very Basics make sense 1:28:49 for building up foundational knowledge 1:28:51 that's super cool 1:28:52 P so go take anage of the salon it 1:28:55 doesn't [ __ ] cost anything the the AI 1:28:58 Readiness training will cost something 1:29:00 but the AI Salon doesn't cost anything 1:29:02 it's a remarkable community so you 1:29:04 should be a part of it if you're not if 1:29:05 you're if you're one of the weirdos in 1:29:08 your life that's talking about
