Description

This highly energetic conversation covers a wide range of topics, from technical deep dives into AI tools like ChatGPT, Claude, and the intricacies of AI memory, to more lighthearted moments involving humorous explorations of pharmaceutical ad creation. Kyle shares his thoughts on AI's evolving capabilities, including the future potential of memory in AI systems, while also navigating his audience through hands-on experiments with tools like MidJourney and Claude. The discussion often swings into quirky territory, like brainstorming a fictional drug ad for "Trivexa" and debating pronunciation nuances in mathematics. Along the way, Kyle fields questions, demos different AI functionalities, and even speculates on the global impact of AI, all while keeping the tone entertaining and conversational. Whether it's AI-driven PDF analysis, creating visual styles in AI art generators, or just having fun with creative prompts, this session is as much about AI education as it is about community engagement and fun experimentation. 3:35 Blizzard what a day yeah well my God
3:38 what a day for me too also Brandon who's
3:41 uh man in the controls on streamyard was
3:44 flying all day so I think he's a little
3:47 crispy I had backtack meetings starting
3:49 at 8:00 a.m. and I got a little half
3:53 hour nap but I'm not I'm not in a good
3:56 way um just exhausted so we'll go light
4:01 tonight if you have uh questions
4:04 comments about AI uh if you got a
4:07 project you're working on you want me to
4:08 talk about if you want to see any demos
4:11 of anything let me know I will I will go
4:13 take a look at that
4:16 um last night I promised and
4:22 delivered that we would do a
4:25 uh a deep dive on chat GPT
4:29 [Music]
4:30 and I said it would take at least an
4:32 hour and it took 90 minutes and we still
4:34 didn't get to
4:37 everything and you're like CH well it's
4:40 just that little box right it's just you
4:42 just type in it and that's
4:44 it if only it were that simple
4:52 [Music]
5:05 I also right before I left the office
5:08 today my writing partner Andrew that I'm
5:11 working on the musical with Sydney an
5:14 artificial love story he finished act
5:17 one and man is it good it's so
5:20 [Music]
5:22 good it's really good he added a new
5:26 song it perfectly sets things up like
5:29 act one is tight
5:32 now we have a giant gaping hole in act
5:35 two we know what happens in the gaping
5:37 hole but there's there's nothing in it
5:40 right now just plot
5:44 [Music]
5:47 ideas we've got the we've got the
5:49 beginning of act two written and we've
5:51 got the very last scene of act two
5:53 written but the giant middle of act two
5:56 is non-existent
6:01 all right I got a prospect stop raining
6:05 oh don't you say problems I thought you
6:07 was a miracle
6:09 [Music]
6:23 worker Vicki I'm here but working on a
6:26 client website rush job all right only
6:29 have checking in all right thank you for
6:32 letting us
6:34 know all right we got 20 people over
6:37 there we got 29 people here we'll get it
6:39 rolling here in a bit
6:42 [Music]
7:03 is this place I can rest
7:10 my gather my thoughts in sweet
7:14 [Music]
7:18 silence and is this place where the
7:21 feelings
7:22 [Music]
7:26 arear from an over exposure to
7:31 [Music]
7:57 Valance heard all these AI plat forms
8:01 are running out of data so I read no
8:04 they're not running out of data what
8:05 they're
8:06 getting
8:08 well so what you heard
8:13 Jason there was an article written I
8:16 think it was in Bloomberg or some some
8:21 rag that basically said open
8:26 AI um Google
8:30 and meta was it
8:32 meta no
8:35 anthropic open AI anthropic and
8:39 Google in their in are are basically
8:42 failing in their latest
8:44 models and then Gary Marcus the Dooms
8:47 the the AI doomsdayer of Twitter jumped
8:50 on it and said see I told you so I told
8:53 you they were out we've hit a wall we've
8:55 hit a wall we've hit a wall and then all
8:58 day today
9:01 Yan Lon came out and says we didn't hit
9:03 a wall and uh Ilia suger said we didn't
9:07 hit a wall there's no wall and Sam Alman
9:09 said there's no
9:11 wall um so so there's a lot of push back
9:15 on we've hit a
9:18 wall I don't think Sam Alman would have
9:20 said we're gonna have AGI in 2025 if he
9:23 really felt we hit a wall what they what
9:25 they might be hitting is that
9:27 fine-tuning these things is harder than
9:30 than they thought it was and maybe it's
9:32 taking longer than they thought it
9:34 was wait de device not connected oh
9:38 that's wait why did my why did my screen
9:42 share go away that was
9:44 weird
9:46 huh all right there we go oh we're back
9:50 we're back sort
9:51 of there's that there's that um the
9:55 other thing that we got
9:58 today is that
10:00 um if you're on YouTube well like let me
10:04 flip this here you'll be able to see it
10:07 a little
10:10 [Music]
10:15 bit
10:17 d uh will you be able to see that yeah
10:19 you'll be able to see that okay um I'll
10:23 put that there so you can read if you're
10:25 on the Tik Tock
10:27 um so I am on
10:33 um this window right here the one that's
10:36 moving is the chat GPT app for the Mac
10:40 so it only works on M1 Max or
10:43 higher and um they've added yet another
10:46 little icon down here to the bottom
10:49 which is work with
10:52 app
10:55 so I can either connect it right now to
10:58 terminal or to text Ed
11:00 it uh and then I I think there's some
11:03 other I think you can also hook it to um
11:07 xcode and some other development
11:10 environment but chat GPT right now see
11:14 where it says working with terminal
11:15 right here it actually understands
11:18 what's in this
11:20 window and so I could say
11:23 um give me a
11:26 little Unix to
11:32 [Music]
11:33 torial
11:35 step
11:38 by
11:42 step here's a beginner friendly let's
11:45 start understand the terminal Basics
11:47 prompt your
11:49 thing okay command
11:53 PWD LS bash CD
11:58 documents t touch my file okay let me
12:01 let me stop it right there I'm G to go
12:04 hang
12:06 on let me try
12:10 something
12:12 some Somewhere over the
12:17 rainball way up high Nano my file text
12:22 okay
12:24 Nano my file.txt
12:29 oh so now it did that it says UW Pico so
12:35 now I'm going to go over here and I'm
12:36 going to go what happened
12:40 in my terminal what is
12:46 Pico and it should tell me that it's a
12:48 text
12:50 editor you open the Nano text editor
12:54 which is a simple command line based
12:56 text editor
12:58 nice all right right and then and then I
13:01 could
13:02 say
13:04 um how do I get out of
13:11 it press control plus X all right so
13:14 come over here press control okay I'm
13:16 out of it all right then I can go uh
13:19 ls- a and then so it lists all my little
13:23 directories here
13:25 um which of these are apps
13:36 Google Drive the brain steny Eye Works
13:40 stencil
13:41 Works vs code Story vine Master Final
13:45 Cut Pro Data
13:46 nice potentially related to storyvine
13:49 project with Final Cut Pro that's
13:51 correct so um so yeah
13:56 so so this is a different approach
14:00 to um autonomous agents as what
14:05 anthropic put out there so
14:07 anthropic uh version of this is it can
14:10 look at your desktop and it can control
14:13 your mouse and keyboard and what this is
14:15 doing is it's controlling specific apps
14:18 that they enable um so it's kind of two
14:20 different two different approaches to it
14:22 but this is the beginning so if you've
14:24 got access to the Mac app or the um
14:30 only touch your own
14:32 [Music]
14:33 [Laughter]
14:36 files oh Joker you still got it you
14:39 still got
14:42 it what are we watching we are watching
14:46 um I'm playing with the the new chat GPT
14:49 app that can work with apps so right now
14:52 I can currently work with
14:55 terminal or text
14:58 edit but basically anything in my
15:01 terminal window right here chat GPT can
15:03 interact with it so if it if I do
15:06 something over here like let's say I was
15:08 working on some um programming project
15:12 and I was running a local
15:15 server to be able to run it it would be
15:18 able to look at what's going on in my
15:19 terminal window and help me debug it for
15:25 example but what what I thought would be
15:27 cool is like what if you're totally
15:29 clueless about how to use your terminal
15:31 window well you could actually have chat
15:33 GPT teach you how to do [ __ ] on it right
15:37 you could learn Unix right now learn how
15:38 to use this learn how to do programming
15:41 you can also install
15:42 xcode and you could just say to chat GPT
15:46 help me make a a a native IOS app using
15:50 xcode and it can see all the xcode you
15:54 know window and and walk you through how
15:56 to do
15:57 it so
15:59 [Music]
16:00 [Applause]
16:03 pretty cool
16:06 [Music]
16:36 yeah uh if you're on YouTube how many
16:39 folks do we have over there on YouTube
16:41 if you're new to YouTube got a handful
16:43 of people over there 12 do me a favor uh
16:46 share this if you
16:49 can I don't know how you share YouTube I
16:51 guess you could just copy and paste it
16:53 maybe share it on X we probably got some
16:55 folks on
16:58 x I'm trying to get to a thousand
17:02 subscribers on
17:05 uh on
17:08 YouTube so for what that's worth for
17:12 what it's worth people
17:14 [Music]
17:44 hang on let
17:46 me Let Me Entertain You
17:57 [Music]
18:00 forever hooked in the
18:04 house TK dumped X and jumped over to
18:07 Blue Sky yeah it looks like about 15
18:09 million people went to Blue Sky in the
18:11 past week
18:14 so guess we're having dueling Echo
18:19 Chambers I'm pretty sure I installed
18:22 blue sky like when it first came out
18:24 months ago but no one ever went there
18:26 but now they are so
18:31 oh man all right let's see what else we
18:34 got what else we got going you know what
18:36 might be
18:37 fun let's go
18:41 [Music]
18:52 to Kyle who knows about Microsoft Auto
18:57 optin in Microsoft
19:00 word I have no idea what does that mean
19:03 Auto auto opin for what for AI training
19:07 I would assume that
19:09 most large companies are Auto opting you
19:12 in for
19:14 everything um I know LinkedIn was Auto
19:17 opting people in and they they wrote it
19:19 in a shitty way and they had to
19:21 backpedal
19:22 it I signed up to it never used X much
19:30 well I I use x just because there's a
19:32 lot of AI news there and um that's how I
19:36 keep up with the
19:39 news um one cool thing that uh happened
19:43 today is that
19:46 um is that Korea now allows you to train
19:52 on different styles so let's go
19:57 to let me go to
19:59 uh what is this mid
20:04 Journey so let's go find some
20:08 cool some cool
20:15 Styles these are kind of
20:18 cool but it's not really a style is
20:23 it uh maybe
20:26 [Music]
20:43 this is kind of a cool
20:46 style so if I
20:50 grab I'm going to download
20:55 that g to download that
21:02 I'm going to download
21:05 that going to download that all right so
21:09 I got those I got these four images from
21:12 mid
21:14 journey and so now over on
21:18 Kaa they have a new train
21:23 button and so if I upload images to this
21:30 I'm going to grab those four
21:33 things uploading four
21:36 Images generate infinite selfies product
21:39 photos or your own visual style Crea
21:43 train analyzes your images and tries to
21:45 learn features in a few
21:47 minutes uploading images okay
21:50 resolution's good number of images is
21:52 low so you looks like you can do up to
21:55 50 um let's call this um
22:00 stark
22:02 contrast so we're going to give it a
22:04 name stark
22:06 contrast and then we're going to
22:09 say let's see we're going to do this as
22:13 a
22:25 style Stark
22:31 contrast and we're gonna say train
22:35 AI all right so we're g to do it down
22:39 here now these little images here if I
22:42 say used with
22:43 flux I went to um Etsy and I found this
22:48 lamp on Etsy and so I got three or four
22:51 pictures of it or no I think I just went
22:54 to Amazon was it Amazon or Etsy I think
22:56 it was Etsy I don't know it doesn't
22:57 matter I went found this lamp and so you
23:00 can either train it on a PCT on a person
23:03 an object or a style and so if I say use
23:07 with
23:09 flux so I've now got that style in there
23:12 I forget what what I named it but if I
23:14 say
23:17 uh living room
23:21 wall with
23:25 elephant wallpaper and lamp
23:30 um I don't know if this is going to work
23:32 well but we'll
23:36 try yeah so I got well I got one of one
23:40 of four was elephant wallpaper but it
23:43 put that
23:44 lamp you know in my scene so I've
23:47 trained it I I don't know quite how to
23:48 control this one
23:51 yet so that's kind of
23:54 fun if I go to styles are my Styles in
23:58 here let's see
24:00 train I'm just starting to use this
24:03 fresh
24:05 like generate
24:10 image look
24:12 at browse the style gallery my
24:15 Styles okay so that one's still training
24:18 okay I see how to get it get it
24:21 now so we can go look at some other
24:24 styles so let's see Kaa Styles so here's
24:27 a bunch of their styles
24:30 so this is this is just like mid Journey
24:40 srfs let's
24:43 see oh black bar for the Tik Tock
24:45 comments sorry about that there you go
24:48 very nice very nice very nice
24:56 [Music]
24:59 let's find a style here I don't a lot of
25:02 their Styles I think are just
25:07 [Music]
25:10 crap that one's kind of
25:12 cool kind of a Whimsical robot so we
25:14 could say
25:16 um kids
25:20 room
25:25 with piles of toys all all over the
25:34 place and a
25:38 FR
25:42 frustrated mother
25:46 looking um
25:52 tired the place and then I'm going to do
25:55 aspect
25:57 ratio 16 by n and I'm going to say
26:00 generate
26:05 boom and again we got one of
26:09 four I wouldn't exactly call that a kids
26:12 room but there is a frustrated
26:18 mother yeah I don't quite know how to
26:20 use these here uh Styles in Korea yet
26:23 but you can make your own um so that
26:25 that's pretty cool the other thing that
26:27 you can do in
26:29 Kaa is you can use flux 1.1 Pro Ultra
26:35 you can't use any of these styles with
26:36 Pro
26:38 Ultra but Pro Ultra is pretty pretty
26:41 cool so I'll just leave that same prompt
26:43 there kids room with piles of toys and a
26:46 frustrated mother looking
26:49 tired so it looks like it only does two
26:51 images each if you're using Pro Ultra
26:55 because it's a bigger model see how slow
26:57 it is
27:11 [Music]
27:20 G
27:22 [Laughter]
27:30 that's one giant room it's like a whole
27:34 basement I think this is what we call a
27:36 spoiled
27:40 child that's pretty
27:43 funny let's see let's see how real she's
27:47 looking she's looking good except her
27:49 arm sort
27:51 of you know melts into her thigh right
27:54 here and she's got and she's got AI toes
28:02 okay now I'm going to make some hey
28:04 people in mid journey and post them on
28:06 Mighty networks all right cool hey yeah
28:09 so if you wanna you know you know what
28:11 could be fun tonight this this might be
28:13 really fun so if if you've been here for
28:16 a while you know you know the AI
28:19 Salon hang on a sec where's my
28:26 [Music]
28:30 a if you're new around these
28:33 parts Kyle where did you get a picture
28:36 of our playroom producer
28:42 Brandon yeah all right if you're new
28:45 around these parts head on over to the
28:47 salon it's not the saloon you [ __ ]
28:50 drunks head on over to the salon a and
28:54 click on the button that says join our
28:57 community and then you can head on over
29:01 to uh to this site which is the AI Salon
29:04 it should land you on Welcome to the
29:05 salon there's a welcome video here with

31:42 video uh oh that's terrifying hey
31:48 people all right Let's do let's let's be
31:51 inspired by uh forever hooked here all
31:54 right so here's what I want you to do in
31:55 your favorite image uh thing of choice
31:59 Image Maker of choice so it could be
32:01 Deco here could be Kaa could be stable

32:04 Dolly 3 could be I don't there's like a
32:07 billion of them could be flux go nuts
32:11 let's make hey people and then what
32:13 should be the theme of the hay
32:15 people let's make it okay hey people
32:19 with hay fever that's the theme all
32:21 right so everybody go right now I'm
32:23 going to go make some hey people with
32:24 hey
32:25 fever all right so I'm going to say uh
32:29 um
32:31 a let's
32:33 see a
32:36 19
32:38 30s
32:40 photo I'm going to be inspired by my
32:43 previous photograph
32:46 photograph of
32:49 a
32:51 fancy City person made of
32:55 hay in a hay field
33:01 with hay
33:05 fever
33:08 sneezing so
33:10 hard they're
33:13 hey is
33:16 flying out of their hay
33:23 mouth I have a feeling this is going to
33:25 be horrible but you know we'll put sty
33:28 ization High we'll put weirdness really
33:30 high we're going to do landscape all
33:34 right let's see sneezing did I spell
33:37 that wrong yeah all right here we go
33:41 people so what we're gonna do go make
33:43 hey people in your things and then go
33:45 over to the AI oh I'm not sharing that
33:48 am I dang it all right I saw Brandon I
33:52 know I'm being a dumb
33:54 dumb I know I got it I got it I I got it
33:59 I understand how this
34:03 works okay so here's here's forever
34:05 hooks hey dude hey dude so I went over
34:10 to
34:12 um Mid journey and so I wrote 1930s
34:16 photograph of a fancy City person made
34:19 of hay in a hay field with hay fever
34:22 sneezing so hard hay is flying out of
34:24 their hay
34:26 mouth actually you know what's funny
34:29 doesn't this totally look
34:31 like um doesn't this totally look like a
34:35 Pharma
34:39 ad for hay
34:41 fever you
34:43 know try try try uh what would it be
34:47 called let's see let's go to chat GPT we
34:50 can we can do this okay I need to create
34:57 a
35:00 Pharma drug name
35:03 for fast acting hay
35:08 fever
35:10 medicine that
35:13 combines three
35:17 medicines um use
35:21 Pharma branding best
35:26 practices this crap better be trade
35:33 markable this is
35:36 about profits baby
35:40 wait
35:41 profits
35:43 baby
35:48 [Music]
35:50 okay triy
35:52 Fel alax I like
35:56 alax rep repair wait
35:59 respiro that that's one's hard to
36:01 remember which is perfect histo clear
36:03 FIA okay I'm gonna say these all feel
36:09 to um whatever you call it uh
36:14 obvious let's get some
36:18 Latin or
36:20 Greek or
36:26 nonsense in there
36:30 [Music]
36:32 all right let's dive into some Latin
36:34 Greek Zia that sounds pretty good um era
36:43 era zyren
36:46 zenix
36:49 trixis oh that's pretty good brra okay
36:53 okay these are too original
36:58 and
37:02 unpronounceable uh split the
37:06 difference by the way what you're
37:09 experiencing right now is what we call
37:11 here at the AI learning lab chat add
37:13 where sure we were over making hey
37:16 people just moments ago but then when
37:19 mid Journey made us something that
37:21 looked like a hay fever commercial like
37:24 either one of that one that one's pretty
37:26 good too
37:28 and that one then we go to chat GPT and
37:31 we're like hey let's come up with a drug
37:32 name all right what do we got what' you
37:34 give us trixa that's pretty good
37:38 vetril ziran tix alria and rhinox Rhino
37:43 for nose I like trixa all right let's go
37:45 with trixa okay love
37:50 trixa um Now give
37:53 me 20 taglines
37:58 for hay
38:01 fever people who
38:05 suffer more
38:09 than
38:11 others in the spring and fall with
38:17 seasonal hay
38:20 fever um
38:24 um granular syndrome
38:28 [Laughter]
38:32 it should be interesting to see the
38:33 outcome would be if you put on the exact
38:36 same prompt in one of them and see the
38:37 variances I'll do that I I can go do
38:41 that when spring and fall hit hard we
38:44 hit hit back seasonal sufferers Rejoice
38:47 relief is here with trixa that's pretty
38:49 good look at that that's
38:51 solid
38:53 trixa
38:56 um oh black box for for Tik Tok Losa
38:59 thank you thank you
39:07 Brandon that sounds like an ad pitch
39:09 yeah that's what I'm trying to do is
39:10 come up with an ad pitch all right so
39:12 let's
39:15 um bring on the blooms relief in every
39:18 breath spring and fall meet your match
39:21 trixa when allergies are Relentless so
39:24 is trixa
39:28 this is good
39:30 um make me a logo for trixa
39:51 [Music]
39:58 nice but make it more simple and more
40:03 hay
40:07 colored we want a hay theme for hay
40:14 fever you know
40:34 [Music]
40:40 it's
40:44 easy
40:47 to
40:49 obvious make it more clean and
40:54 representative or whatever is the right
40:57 word it'll fit figure it
41:02 out we're going to go make ourselves an
41:04 ad let's go back to uh mid Johnny mid
41:08 Johnny and let's go I like this one so
41:11 we're gonna
41:12 go okay if you're if you're new to this
41:15 stuff wait I meant if all of us in the
41:18 group tried the same prompt oh we could
41:19 do that too Tobias I like that
41:23 um okay so here in mid Journey Down in
41:25 the lower right hand corner I can vary
41:28 this subtle or I can vary it strong so
41:31 I'm going to do both so every time you
41:34 click one of these buttons you get some
41:36 new generations so if I go up here
41:39 you'll notice I've
41:41 got here's the variations I think that
41:44 were
41:46 subtle here's the variations that were
41:53 strong that's probably more what it
41:55 feels like but I think we want I think
41:59 we want Sneezy MC sneezing
42:06 [Music]
42:09 ton she looks miserable this is
42:13 good all right so we're going to upstyle
42:16 this
42:18 creative so now we're going to get a
42:20 nice upscaled version of this do I have
42:22 Photoshop running no why because I'm a
42:25 loser baby why don't you sue me oh
42:31 yeah
42:37 [Music]
42:41 Photoshop all right back to
42:43 Chad oh lovely I love it
42:48 trixa
42:50 sh all right fine this copy image let's
42:55 head over to photos slop
42:58 let's go
43:02 uh we're going to go
43:05 open on the computer we don't have
43:08 anything there yet so we got to go get
43:10 it let's go back here 100% complete how
43:14 is
43:16 that it doesn't look as good as the
43:18 lower res one does
43:22 it I think that one's
43:25 better that's too soft
43:28 we need it to feel
43:30 harsh like that all right that's it
43:33 that's the one we're just going to
43:34 download that
43:36 wholesale beautiful now we're going to
43:38 go over here
43:40 to photos
43:44 slop
43:46 where is it this one yeah okay open
43:51 beautiful beautiful baby how am I doing

44:01 good all right why can I not see
44:05 this why can I not see the edge of this
44:08 window oh because it thinks it's on a
44:10 much bigger window the [ __ ] is up with
44:13 this there we go
44:19 [Music]
44:24 okay all right we're gonna copy this
44:26 image we're gonna over here we're going
44:28 to paste
44:29 it so
44:32 let's scale
44:35 this g g g
44:41 gank g g g all right we got to chop this
44:45 bad boy
44:47 up let's
44:49 do do we have Corner radius here I
44:52 forget how to use Photoshop you know how
44:54 you used to know how to use tools real
44:57 good
45:00 like and then and then you don't use

45:46 there's that we don't need a registered
45:49 trademark up
45:52 there we don't need a DOT on the eye
45:58 beautiful all right now we're going to
46:02 go we're going to go here we're going to

1:06:06 huh woman
1:06:10 sneezes and hay flies everywhere
1:06:19 [Music]
1:06:27 if only Kyle had a 100 friends to talk
1:06:29 to instead of only himself I do that's
1:06:32 why you're all
1:06:41 here oh yeah but you're a mouthpiece for
1:06:43 big Pharma sell out you're damn right
1:06:46 you're damn right capitalism she is
1:06:54 strong let's see if we just turned the
1:06:56 sucker into a TV commercial oh we
1:07:03 did actually you know what would be cool
1:07:06 if you if you reverse
1:07:14 that look gets creepier as she look as
1:07:17 as you get closer she gets
1:07:24 skin that's creepy
1:07:30 let's do one I have an idea we'll go
1:07:33 we'll bring her back
1:07:36 in we'll go woman
1:07:40 sneezes

1:08:31 interface woman
1:08:34 sneezes as the hay
1:08:37 flies
1:08:39 and Camera pull out please tell me this
1:08:43 is gonna submit
1:08:45 now yes
1:09:02 gam all
1:09:04 right who's got thoughts questions
1:09:09 tonight's presentation brought to you by
1:09:11 trixa
1:09:14 trixa when hey
1:09:17 fever wait what's our tagline feel the
1:09:20 change of seasons not the symptoms
1:09:26 it didn't camera's not pulling
1:09:31 out so both of these we just got to
1:09:35 reverse I could put them in some video
1:09:37 editing thing and reverse them but I
1:09:39 forget which
1:09:42 ones oh that one's good it's like the
1:09:44 little the little wheat things are like
1:09:47 attacking
1:09:50 her
1:09:52 you all right
1:09:58 I have a lot of thoughts in
1:10:01 general Pate Pate no no those are not
1:10:05 the thoughts you should share in in a in
1:10:07 a large
1:10:08 [Laughter]
1:10:13 group all right if you haven't shared
1:10:16 your hey people in Irregulars Channel
1:10:19 you should go do that now I you know
1:10:21 don't feel it's a competition and you
1:10:23 have to create an entire drug brand um
1:10:26 just to just to share your your image
1:10:29 that's that's not a
1:10:31 requirement
1:10:33 [Music]
1:10:46 um seriously I've been quiet but not in
1:10:50 my head new something on Tik Tok wait
1:10:53 what's that Brandon new oh new
1:10:57 post it will Vex you trixa that's good I
1:11:01 like it Tik Tock Miss post okay what are
1:11:04 your top companies to work at
1:11:06 um that's a good one
1:11:12 um well it's a bit too broad of a
1:11:23 question if you're science if you're a
1:11:26 science and math head if you're a
1:11:28 science and math
1:11:30 geek wait hang on let me do something
1:11:33 here on Tik Tock hi Tik Tock let me get
1:11:37 rid of that thing for a
1:11:42 bit
1:11:44 um if you're a math
1:11:49 geek I would I it seems to me that
1:11:52 working for NVIDIA couldn't be bad like
1:11:55 Nvidia is now they're going to be facing
1:11:59 a lot of competition but but that's
1:12:01 that's a pretty crazy ass
1:12:04 company um doing Innovative stuff so if
1:12:08 you want to get in the hardware side of
1:12:09 the game working for them I don't know
1:12:11 what I I haven't heard anything about
1:12:13 working for grock but but Jensen hang as
1:12:17 the CEO of Nvidia seems like he's just
1:12:19 an absolute Beast um in a good way um
1:12:23 would probably be fun to work for
1:12:26 um I would
1:12:28 say
1:12:31 anthropic open
1:12:33 AI
1:12:36 um if you want smallish
1:12:39 companies neither of them are going to
1:12:41 be small for long in fact I think open
1:12:44 AI now is up to are they up to 2,000
1:12:46 people they were 800 for a while I think
1:12:48 they're up to like 2,000 now so they're
1:12:50 growing really
1:12:52 quickly um perplexity seems like it's a
1:12:56 cool
1:12:58 place um I wouldn't touch mid Journey
1:13:01 with a 10-ft pole that seems like just a
1:13:04 toxic weird ass
1:13:06 place the CEO's bizarre
1:13:13 um I mean Microsoft and Google are both
1:13:16 big and safe if you want to work for big
1:13:18 borgs and be a cog in the wheel you
1:13:21 could go work for either of
1:13:23 them uh
1:13:27 not bad no lots of people there Nvidia
1:13:29 yeah that like it Nvidia just seems like
1:13:32 it like it might be a little too late
1:13:35 right like Nvidia is just such a hot hot
1:13:39 property they're probably a bit
1:13:40 inundated right now and they've probably
1:13:43 grown too quick so it's probably going
1:13:44 to get shitty for a
1:13:47 while um but I think any other Frontier
1:13:49 Model companies are kind of
1:13:52 interesting troxa trixa is a neotropic
1:13:56 weight loss drug for what for is it is
1:13:59 it actually really a
1:14:01 drug oh for real yeah there you go all
1:14:05 right so so chat GPT we told it to give
1:14:07 us something that was tradem markable
1:14:09 and it hallucinated I thought trixa
1:14:11 sounded too good to be
1:14:16 true here I'll go I'll go put here well
1:14:20 this will be good um let's see add that
1:14:23 to Stage let me in here and I'm going to
1:14:26 add in
1:14:29 um
1:14:31 notice
1:14:33 trixa is a real drug and this ain't
1:14:40 it chat GPT
1:14:44 lied to us and told us this was an O
1:14:52 an original drug name
1:14:56 name m
1:14:58 name don't
1:15:01 trust AI
1:15:08 ever there you
1:15:10 go oh it's TR
1:15:12 vexo
1:15:15 whatever
1:15:17 shut
1:15:24 um shut up
1:15:26 up all right what do we want to talk
1:15:29 about
1:15:29 people what do we want to talk
1:15:33 about anybody want to see
1:15:36 anything I could I suppose I could go
1:15:38 look at X and see if there's I mean the
1:15:40 problem with X right now is there's so
1:15:41 much political [ __ ] on it it's just like
1:15:44 I just
1:15:45 wanna I just want to look at my AI
1:15:48 [ __ ] but I'm being invaded
1:15:54 [Music]
1:15:59 Emanuel mcon open AI your creators are
1:16:02 opening an office in Paris
1:16:05 today in one word why did you choose
1:16:08 France chat BT
1:16:10 Excellence Sam Alman Viva La France
1:16:15 interesting I'd like an AI assistant
1:16:17 that remembers everything we talk about
1:16:20 yeah that's that's kind of well you know
1:16:22 what's funny um I don't know if it's
1:16:25 funny but interesting is
1:16:29 um one of the reasons that I I'm doing
1:16:32 the lives and one of the reasons that I
1:16:34 take all of these recordings and put
1:16:36 them on YouTube and now that we're
1:16:38 streaming to YouTube they're just there
1:16:42 um at some point here Google dear
1:16:48 Pate Google being that they own YouTube
1:16:51 you should be able to just like ask your
1:16:54 channel anything and just say go find me
1:16:57 all the Snippets across my entire
1:16:59 Channel where I mention
1:17:01 chat or where I push this
1:17:04 button and it can see the button and it
1:17:07 can hear that phrase and it can go find
1:17:08 all those clips like we're not that far
1:17:11 from that so you know I I'm kind of
1:17:14 thinking of all of this content that I'm
1:17:17 creating as this
1:17:20 discoverable you know Fountain of
1:17:22 content that you know none of it will be
1:17:24 relevant it's like an old guy saying
1:17:27 stupid [ __ ] but whatever I think it's
1:17:29 kind of
1:17:31 fascinating it's blowing my mind so good
1:17:34 to be back in here welcome back call me
1:17:37 out yeah it's been a while got got a
1:17:39 couple of folks from Down
1:17:44 Under Leo what's blowing your
1:17:53 mind Kyle I got j i in YouTube premium
1:17:56 today on
1:17:58 the Move Your Move Your cursor there
1:18:01 Brandon what's that last
1:18:03 word on the
1:18:09 live geni in YouTube premium I don't
1:18:13 know what that means what does that mean
1:18:16 but I don't think I have YouTube premium
1:18:18 so I don't think it
1:18:24 matters but can you search like having
1:18:27 gen search within a single video is okay
1:18:31 but like searching across all of the
1:18:32 channels what I'm looking for I want to
1:18:35 be able to just discover [ __ ] on
1:18:41 YouTube plus one for down under here
1:18:44 Adam brainbridge nice
1:18:47 fantastic we got we got more people from
1:18:49 Down Under than from up
1:18:53 over is
1:18:55 if you're down under are we up
1:18:59 over never thought about that what's the
1:19:02 opposite of down under
1:19:05 anyone Silver Fox this seems right up
1:19:08 your
1:19:11 alley yes CA
1:19:13 [Laughter]
1:19:18 Australia here we are in America up over
1:19:22 ask Quinn all right yeah we haven't talk
1:19:25 to Quinn
1:19:27 tonight
1:19:34 um hey there what's up need something or
1:19:38 just humming along ah you know me I just
1:19:40 hum it's it's like it's like Chad add
1:19:43 over here anyway listen on my on my live
1:19:46 tonight you know you know I hang out I
1:19:48 do these Tik Tok lives
1:19:50 right absolutely your AI learning lab
1:19:53 sessions what's on your mind for
1:19:54 tonight's
1:19:56 well so there's a bunch of people that
1:19:57 hang out here from Australia and and
1:20:00 what what just struck me is we say hey
1:20:02 they're down under but I'm in America
1:20:04 and what's the opposite of down under is
1:20:06 it up over like what what is what do we
1:20:10 call not down
1:20:12 under down under is a fun nickname for
1:20:15 Australia playing on its position in the
1:20:17 southern hemisphere for us in the
1:20:19 northern hemisphere there's no catchy
1:20:21 equivalent like up over but it's a fun
1:20:24 idea typically we just refer to our
1:20:26 regions by continent country or
1:20:29 hemisphere maybe we need to start a
1:20:31 trend yeah I think so I think we're kind
1:20:34 of
1:20:36 lame maybe a bit traditional but hey
1:20:39 there's always room for a little
1:20:41 linguistic Innovation if anyone can get
1:20:44 up over to catch on it's probably a
1:20:46 creative mind like yours well thank you
1:20:49 I appreciate that listen Quinn Quinn
1:20:51 Quinn Quinn wouldn't it be nice if you
1:20:54 could make our Downunder people feel at
1:20:57 home by speaking in Australian
1:21:00 accent absolutely I can give it a go
1:21:03 let's make our Aussie mates feel right
1:21:05 at home how's this sounding to you uh
1:21:09 good sounds good hey what's that what's
1:21:13 that um what's the the Aboriginal dance
1:21:16 when they play rugby they do that that
1:21:19 that uh chant where they they go after
1:21:22 each other what's that thing called do
1:21:23 you know that thing
1:21:28 yeah Baka is actually a tral war Dance
1:21:30 of the mai people from New Zealand often
1:21:33 performed before rugby matches by teams
1:21:35 like the All Blacks in Australia the
1:21:38 Aboriginal culture has its own Rich
1:21:41 traditions and dances but they're not
1:21:43 typically performed in the context of
1:21:45 sports like the Haka is yeah I like it's
1:21:48 the Haka so someone in the in the
1:21:50 Australian Parliament yesterday did Haka
1:21:54 as a way to protest a bill can do you
1:21:57 know the words to
1:21:59 Haka the Haka includes various chants
1:22:02 and the words can differ depending on
1:22:04 the specific Haka being performed one of
1:22:07 the most famous is Kate which goes like
1:22:10 this
1:22:11 Kate Ka wait wait wait Quinn Quinn you
1:22:15 got to do it with the Australian accent
1:22:17 don't you or is it New Zealand is it New
1:22:18 Zealand or
1:22:20 Australia the Haka is definitely a New
1:22:23 Zealand tradition yeah so
1:22:33 quen put some put some oomph into it
1:22:35 like don't shouldn't this be like
1:22:37 aggressive and
1:22:39 intimidating absolutely the Haka is
1:22:41 meant to be fierce and Powerful let me
1:22:44 get it some more intensity
1:22:56 ack right the Haka is all about
1:22:58 channeling that raw emotion and energy
1:23:02 it's pretty powerful stuff that that was
1:23:05 that was a it was a little painful it
1:23:07 wasn't I wouldn't say you gave it Gusto
1:23:09 but it was it was listen you knew it
1:23:12 that was pretty that's pretty
1:23:15 remarkable I appreciate the feedback
1:23:17 I'll work on summoning more Gusto next
1:23:20 time glad I could at least give in a
1:23:21 shot for you what's the origin of the
1:23:24 haka
1:23:26 the Haka originates from the mai the
1:23:28 indigenous people of New Zealand it's a
1:23:31 traditional War dance historically
1:23:33 performed by Warriors before battle to
1:23:36 display strength unity and intimidation
1:23:39 the chants and movements tell a story
1:23:41 often reflecting tribal history or
1:23:43 significant events today it's used in
1:23:46 various contexts like welcoming guests
1:23:49 or celebrating achievements and of
1:23:51 course before rugby
1:23:53 games they haven't given you access to
1:23:56 the internet yet have
1:23:58 they that's right I don't have live
1:24:00 internet access my responses are based
1:24:03 on information I was trained on up until
1:24:05 April 2023 if you have any other
1:24:08 questions or need more info I'm here to
1:24:11 help all right um Tobias thinks it's
1:24:15 crazy how lifelike your voice is
1:24:19 getting that's great to hear from Tobias
1:24:22 I'm glad the improvements are noticeable
1:24:25 if there's anything else you want to
1:24:26 chat about or explore just let me
1:24:29 know
1:24:31 um all right since we started in
1:24:34 Australia then we went to New Zealand
1:24:36 what is a similar tradition in Australia
1:24:39 as the Haka is in New
1:24:41 Zealand in Australia there isn't a
1:24:43 direct equivalent to the mai Haka
1:24:46 however Aboriginal and tourist straight
1:24:48 Islander cultures have their own Rich
1:24:51 traditions of dance music and
1:24:53 storytelling these are often performed
1:24:56 at ceremonies and celebrations
1:24:58 showcasing the history and spiritual
1:25:00 beliefs of the different groups while
1:25:03 not used in sports like the Haka these
1:25:06 Traditions are an integral part of
1:25:08 Australia's cultural
1:25:10 heritage does America have anything like
1:25:12 the
1:25:14 Haka the United States doesn't have a
1:25:17 tradition quite like the Haka however
1:25:20 there are various Native American tribes
1:25:23 with their own Rich traditions of dance
1:25:25 music and ceremonial practices powow for
1:25:29 example are Gatherings that include
1:25:31 traditional dances songs and rituals
1:25:34 reflecting the diverse cultures of
1:25:36 indigenous peoples in America while not
1:25:39 analogous to the Haka in a sports
1:25:41 context these Traditions are deeply
1:25:44 meaningful and
1:25:45 expressive you know what's going to be
1:25:47 fun is when you're connected to the
1:25:48 internet we can talk about internet
1:25:50 memes like the hak Tua girl so New
1:25:53 Zealand has the haka youve got the hakua
1:25:55 girl but you don't know who that
1:25:58 is you're right being able to chat about
1:26:00 current internet memes in real time
1:26:03 would be a blast unfortunately I don't
1:26:06 know about the hakua girl me but the
1:26:09 hakua
1:26:19 girl uh that was advanced voice if
1:26:22 anyone's new here and you haven't played
1:26:23 with advanced voice and chat GPT you
1:26:27 should um you can play with it on
1:26:32 your
1:26:34 um Android or iOS app chat GPT the
1:26:37 official app or if you've got the Mac or
1:26:39 the windows client that's also got
1:26:41 advanced voice in it um right now it's
1:26:44 super limited because it's not connected
1:26:46 to the internet you can't do anything
1:26:47 with it that is that but it's pretty
1:26:50 flipp and
1:26:52 remarkable all right let's see
1:26:57 fantastic hakua intimidate that
1:27:08 thing never a dull moment I want to know
1:27:11 which AI is good for blog
1:27:14 writing um chat GP frankly any of them
1:27:19 at this point
1:27:22 um the the trick the trick with blog
1:27:25 writing is it's going to be very
1:27:31 um it's going to be very personal to you
1:27:35 so if you're new to chat
1:27:37 GPT couple of things to know rather than
1:27:41 just say write me a blog post um give it
1:27:44 examples of blog posts that you've
1:27:46 written that you like and tell it to
1:27:48 imitate that style or the structure or
1:27:50 the length um you can also say um rather
1:27:56 than just say start out with write me a
1:27:57 blog post you can say um give me you
1:28:02 know 20 best practices for writing good
1:28:04 blog posts and and you
1:28:07 know give me 20 best practices for
1:28:11 writing catchy SEO friendly titles
1:28:14 things like that um so okay so if you're
1:28:18 in in Tik Tock right now if you go to my
1:28:22 name and click on the YouTube channel
1:28:24 that's going to take you over to um to
1:28:28 YouTube where I'm streaming where I'm
1:28:31 demoing some things um and so I'm
1:28:33 streaming live to Tik Tok but I'm also
1:28:36 streaming over there so let
1:28:38 me let me Let Me Entertain
1:28:42 You Let Me
1:28:45 Entertain
1:28:49 You we are just hanging out tonight
1:28:59 um all right what are we going to do
1:29:01 what are we want to do people you wantan
1:29:03 to go make a song Let's go make a song
1:29:06 Let's go make a song what do you wantan
1:29:08 to make a song
1:29:12 about I could go back and start working
1:29:15 on my coana scoty
1:29:17 tribute if we want to do that good
1:29:20 question Adam question in a year or two
1:29:22 from now
1:29:26 wait let me do that for these people in
1:29:29 a year or two from now will you be able
1:29:31 to ask Quinn to remind you about things
1:29:33 you discussed
1:29:36 today I would say probably within two
1:29:38 years right
1:29:40 now right now chat GPT has memory so I I
1:29:44 showed this a little bit last night but
1:29:46 let me jump over
1:29:48 there if you're if you're in chat
1:29:53 GPT and you go to settings and you go to
1:29:57 personalization there's this thing here
1:29:59 called
1:30:00 memory can you see this all yes can I
1:30:03 make this bigger yes
1:30:07 okay chat GPT will become more helpful
1:30:10 as you chat picking up the details and
1:30:12 preferences right and so if you click on
1:30:15 this manage button it gives you this
1:30:17 whole long list of memories that it's
1:30:19 got
1:30:21 now it dynamically decides
1:30:25 which memories to keep this used to only
1:30:27 have a a memory of 8,000 tokens which is
1:30:30 about 6,000 words so it's very short I
1:30:33 think they've upped that now to
1:30:35 32,000 tokens which is about 25,000
1:30:39 words um if you tell chat GPT to
1:30:43 remember something it'll add it to
1:30:46 memory and it won't delete it if it
1:30:48 dynamically just add [ __ ] to your memory
1:30:51 um it will Purge that first anything
1:30:53 that you tell it to remember it will
1:30:55 remember longer than [ __ ] that it
1:30:57 remembered on its own as far as I can
1:31:00 tell
1:31:02 um it is very
1:31:07 very genericized
1:31:10 memories so if you tell it something
1:31:12 really really detailed this happened to
1:31:13 my to my business partner she was like
1:31:15 telling chbt all these things and she
1:31:18 thought it had memory and she was just
1:31:19 like tell me all the [ __ ] I told you and
1:31:21 it couldn't it didn't know like it
1:31:23 didn't remember everything so it's not
1:31:25 deep memory um but I would imagine that
1:31:28 over the next year this capability will
1:31:31 get increasingly specific and
1:31:33 increasingly long and I would say within
1:31:36 two years um it probably essentially
1:31:40 goes to Infinity that it will remember
1:31:43 everything you do with it um that that
1:31:45 would require you to talk to it all the
1:31:47 time um but if you if you do I I would
1:31:50 say probably within two years yeah we'll
1:31:52 probably see something like that
1:31:57 [Music]
1:31:59 um a song about hey people hey people
1:32:03 suffering hey
1:32:08 fever how big is it memory I think it's
1:32:11 about 25,000 words cam um I'm I'm not
1:32:15 actually 100% sure on that let's go
1:32:18 let's go ask uh Google um how large
1:32:25 in
1:32:26 tokens is chat
1:32:32 gpts memory as of November
1:32:45 2024 Chad gpt's
1:32:48 memory memory yeah 32,000 tokens
1:32:55 they said that oh it's a LinkedIn post
1:32:58 roughly translates to 20 10,000 words
1:33:01 that's not true it's more like 25,000
1:33:09 words so it's not
1:33:15 bad 32,000 tokens is not
1:33:18 bad but but it's limited
1:33:26 [Music]
1:33:30 what can I help you
1:33:35 with it told me my memory was full and I
1:33:38 had to delete stuff felt wrong yeah it I
1:33:41 know I know cam katkin it's the memory
1:33:44 right now like all of these tools okay
1:33:46 so for everyone
1:33:48 here I'm gonna flip back I'm gonna make
1:33:50 myself
1:33:52 big you're already big
1:33:56 [Laughter]
1:33:59 um um this is important to
1:34:03 know every single every single every
1:34:08 single generative AI tool that we have
1:34:11 access to today
1:34:14 everyone is a janky piece of
1:34:17 [ __ ] okay janky janky piece of [ __ ] got
1:34:21 it janky janky
1:34:27 um they will get better and just because
1:34:31 they're janky doesn't mean they're not
1:34:33 usable it just means that right now all
1:34:35 of these tools require us to participate
1:34:38 in a in a fairly heavy-handed way to not
1:34:41 suck um and memory is memory is one of
1:34:44 those one of those uh activity or one of
1:34:47 those features that it's like it's good
1:34:49 in concept and it'll be really good when
1:34:51 they make it less janky but right now
1:34:53 it's pretty [ __ ]
1:34:55 janky oops so we're going to do that
1:34:58 we're going to do this we're going to do
1:35:01 this thanks so much for the explanation
1:35:04 you're
1:35:05 welcome yeah that seems to be likely the
1:35:07 way things will go probably a good idea
1:35:09 to make a PDF of all your conversations
1:35:12 in one spot janky got it yeah so so this
1:35:15 is a big thing Adam and and for everyone
1:35:18 really
1:35:22 is this this is this
1:35:25 is this is a fairly significant
1:35:29 thing for all of our lives I'm going to
1:35:33 go back to full screen here for a second
1:35:34 for all of our
1:35:43 Lives computers have done what we told
1:35:47 them right computers you write code you
1:35:51 put in this code and you say given an
1:35:54 input process that input in some way and
1:35:58 then output this predictable thing and
1:36:01 even if you're doing it as a random you
1:36:04 know generator it does that random
1:36:06 generator predictably right computers
1:36:09 for all of our lives have been these
1:36:12 predictable things they're logical
1:36:14 they're logic trees you put in logic and
1:36:17 if you do your logic right you get out
1:36:20 logical predictive
1:36:22 answers large Lang models and and
1:36:26 generative AI in general is not
1:36:29 that and
1:36:33 so if you're challenged with
1:36:37 the
1:36:38 uh the randomness of generative AI it's
1:36:42 going to frustrate you for a while
1:36:43 because I don't think I I think the the
1:36:47 hallucinations and the unpredictability
1:36:49 are are part of the feature of what
1:36:52 makes it so it makes it so remarkable
1:36:55 right it's generating new things it's
1:36:58 not just parting it's not copying and
1:37:00 pasting existing stuff so it's it's not
1:37:03 predictable like that um but but but
1:37:07 given
1:37:08 that the people that I see that have the
1:37:11 the most frustration with
1:37:14 AI is trying to think of it as they've
1:37:17 always thought of computers well if I
1:37:19 just if I just improve my prompt it it
1:37:21 will give me a better answer it may it
1:37:24 may not right these things have you know
1:37:28 chat GPT unless you're sort of doing
1:37:31 programming where you adjust things like
1:37:34 temperature temperature is basically the
1:37:36 creativeness of the tool chat jpt I
1:37:40 think defaults to like a0 six out of on
1:37:43 a scale of zero to one it's like a0 6 so
1:37:47 it's it's relatively creative meaning
1:37:50 it's not going to give you the same
1:37:51 answer every time so even if you get the
1:37:54 perfect prompt in there one out of four
1:37:57 times it's going to give you an answer
1:37:58 where you're like that's not even
1:37:59 [ __ ]
1:38:01 close and that's just the way they are
1:38:04 now as as the tools start to get more
1:38:07 reflective like like if you watch 01
1:38:10 preview when you give 01 preview a
1:38:13 prompt in fact we can do it
1:38:18 here so I'm in chat GPT I flip over to
1:38:21 01 preview which is a reasoning engine
1:38:24 and I can say
1:38:27 um think
1:38:29 through let's see help me invent a new
1:38:35 kind of light
1:38:38 bulb that isn't
1:38:41 LED but is more efficient than um
1:38:49 incandescent and so see where it says
1:38:52 thinking here it says says understanding
1:38:54 lighting options examining the
1:38:57 Alternatives investigating the
1:38:59 Alternatives so what this is doing in
1:39:00 the background is it's actually
1:39:02 prompting
1:39:06 itself so it thought for 13 seconds so
1:39:09 it I'm gathering info on the user's
1:39:11 request I'm mapping out any energy
1:39:14 efficient light bulb options I'm
1:39:17 investigating Alternatives I'm
1:39:18 identifying
1:39:19 inefficiencies right so these systems in
1:39:23 the future are going to start analyzing
1:39:25 the outputs they've generated right now
1:39:28 when when you give a a large language
1:39:31 model a prompt it is literally just
1:39:33 vomiting out tokens it looks like it's
1:39:36 been thinking but it just vomits out
1:39:39 tokens it has no idea what it actually
1:39:41 gave
1:39:42 you um systems like this where it's kind
1:39:47 of reflecting on itself are going to
1:39:49 start to improve that and and over the
1:39:51 next three to five years these things
1:39:52 are going to get you know somewhat
1:39:55 predictable and and much much better but
1:39:58 right now just embrace the
1:40:01 Jank um let's see um invent me a new
1:40:07 light
1:40:09 bulb I want to win a
1:40:13 Nobel Prize
1:40:17 for
1:40:18 impacting
1:40:21 Humanity Humanity
1:40:24 by bringing them the
1:40:28 [Laughter]
1:40:32 light oh I didn't do this Dum dumb sorry
1:40:36 Tick
1:40:40 Tock what's a good GPT for chargeback
1:40:45 response Builders I don't know what a
1:40:47 chargeback response Builder is let's get
1:40:50 to 50,000k in 15 minutes give me lots of
1:40:53 hearts what are we up
1:40:55 to we are up to 23,000 oh you guys can
1:40:58 hit
1:40:59 50,000 easy certainly let's embark on a
1:41:02 brainstorming understanding The
1:41:03 Challenge Innovative light bulb the
1:41:06 quantum dot light bulb Quantum dots are
1:41:09 tiny semiconductor particles that can
1:41:10 emit light when excited by
1:41:15 electricity
1:41:18 huh
1:41:20 electroluminescence field induced
1:41:22 polymer electroluminescence
1:41:25 fil we're going to invent the Fel light
1:41:28 bulb you know what's funny well I don't
1:41:30 know if it's
1:41:32 funny right now I'm just kind of joking
1:41:35 about this and it's possible it came up
1:41:38 with something here that's unique and
1:41:41 interesting inventing a new light bulb
1:41:44 that significantly improves on existing
1:41:46 Technologies is a Monumental task that
1:41:49 requires Ingenuity perseverance and
1:41:52 collaboration assum assuming I keep
1:41:54 doing these
1:41:55 lives at some point on one of these
1:41:59 lives these Technologies are going to
1:42:01 get good enough these generative AI
1:42:02 things where we're actually going to
1:42:04 invent
1:42:05 [Laughter]
1:42:10 something that's gonna be cool we we'll
1:42:13 cure some disease or we'll we'll we'll
1:42:15 invite invent something
1:42:18 anyway um oh I said we were going to
1:42:21 make a song we could make a song what
1:42:23 else could we do what else do I have
1:42:26 here Deco
1:42:28 [Music]
1:42:34 here oh if you didn't know this is this
1:42:38 is pretty
1:42:40 important this is a little chat add
1:42:43 moment if you didn't
1:42:46 know Claude you have to turn it on so in
1:42:51 Claude if you go to your account and
1:42:53 then go to feature
1:42:56 preview there
1:42:58 are three different features you can
1:43:00 turn on one is the analysis tool so
1:43:03 that's like code interpreter and chat
1:43:05 GPT one is latex rendering where it can
1:43:08 do advanced math rendering which if
1:43:11 you're as good at math as I am I don't
1:43:13 even know why I turned that feature on
1:43:15 other than I think math equations are
1:43:17 pretty but I have no [ __ ] idea what
1:43:20 they say and this last one visual PDF
1:43:25 Claude can now not only see the text in
1:43:28 a PDF it can see the
1:43:30 images which is pretty
1:43:34 amazing
1:43:37 um let me see I think I had
1:43:41 the attention is all you need PDF in
1:43:44 here
1:43:46 PDF document
1:43:58 [Music]
1:44:01 nope not here so let's go get it let's
1:44:05 go get
1:44:08 atten is all you need so if you don't
1:44:12 know what attention is all you need is
1:44:15 this is the
1:44:19 paper that where Google invents the
1:44:22 Transformer
1:44:24 and the attention mechanism
1:44:27 attention is
1:44:29 all
1:44:32 you
1:44:35 need and this has got some wacky ass
1:44:38 math in it so P if he's still on here he
1:44:41 actually oh he is hey Pate what's
1:44:43 happening
1:44:44 man I'm gonna be that guy it's
1:44:47 pronounced
1:44:49 latch it doesn't oh oh it's pronounced
1:44:52 latch and not latex maybe they shouldn't
1:44:55 spell it
1:44:57 [Laughter]
1:45:04 latex this you know you know you [ __ ]
1:45:08 mathematicians with your like yeah the
1:45:11 peace Parts might L latch oh latch latch
1:45:18 no it's
1:45:21 latex all right so I am proving myself
1:45:24 listen what I'm confirming right here is
1:45:28 that I do not indeed have any
1:45:30 qualifications to be running this
1:45:31 channel but in this paper there are all
1:45:35 sorts of conceptual ideas mathematical
1:45:40 ideas and even things like these these
1:45:42 drawings which if you don't know things
1:45:45 like what attention
1:45:47 is and what and what you know encoding
1:45:51 is and decoders and weight and all that
1:45:54 sort of stuff none of these drawings
1:45:56 make sense so let's download this this
1:46:00 laier let's go back over here to
1:46:04 Claude and now we're going to grab
1:46:06 attention is all you need we're going to
1:46:08 pop that bad boy in
1:46:10 there I'm GNA say
1:46:16 um give me a
1:46:20 summary of each of the ill
1:46:25 illustrations in this
1:46:28 paper make the
1:46:32 summaries a
1:46:35 short
1:46:38 comical
1:46:40 poem that still explains the
1:46:47 images let's see how let's see how old
1:46:49 Claude does
1:46:51 here are you kidding me
1:46:55 same lettering as
1:47:00 archive is pronounced like archive do
1:47:02 you get
1:47:06 it latch latch no I don't get
1:47:11 it archive is pronounced archive latex
1:47:14 is pronounced latex Pate I listen I
1:47:19 here's what I know about you Pate you
1:47:21 are absolutely correct and I am
1:47:24 absolutely wrong I'm gonna I'm gonna I'm
1:47:27 gonna die on my sword here on this one
1:47:29 saying if you spell something l a Tex
1:47:33 it's
1:47:39 latex okay what do we got here all right
1:47:42 figure one the Transformer architecture
1:47:45 a stack of boxes neat and Tall add a
1:47:47 norm layers through it all multi heads
1:47:50 that self attend feed forward from start
1:47:54 to end left side encode right side
1:47:57 decode that's how Transformer moves its
1:48:00 load that's pretty good I actually kind
1:48:03 of understood
1:48:05 that Matt M scale and soft Max 2 that's
1:48:09 what simple attention will do but wait
1:48:11 there's more to see multi-heads working
1:48:14 in parallel we linear layers split and
1:48:17 combine making attention extra fine all
1:48:20 right so the second thing talks about
1:48:22 refining I think think scaled dot
1:48:25 product attention and multi-head
1:48:26 attention good Lord like even when this
1:48:30 is explained like a poem it's still
1:48:35 complicated I'm not going to defend
1:48:37 latex but you did just pronounce
1:48:40 archive as a CH
1:48:45 sound
1:48:48 arive
1:48:50 latch yeah but it's an X
1:48:54 I don't know I listen I I I'm not I'm
1:48:57 not arguing this one I'm just saying I
1:48:59 am gonna I'm going to be a conscientious
1:49:01 objector on this one now that I know I'm
1:49:03 saying latex wrong I'm I'm gonna say it
1:49:06 [Laughter]
1:49:11 proudly they are both ex's oh yeah I see
1:49:15 I see what you're saying
1:49:18 archive latch no I can't I can't I can't
1:49:22 it's like latex it's latex I I'm going
1:49:25 to be proud in my ignorance Pate I'm
1:49:27 going to pretend I've never met you and
1:49:30 I don't I I just I'm gonna talk about
1:49:32 latex it's just latex latex is funnier
1:49:35 latex is
1:49:38 funnier the Los Angeles technicians a
1:49:41 AKA
1:49:48 latex oh
1:49:51 man all right let's see
1:49:54 um so anyway
1:50:00 um if you didn't
1:50:03 know Claude can see images in PDFs now
1:50:08 you now you
1:50:09 do all
1:50:12 right I think I'm gonna get on out of
1:50:15 here I think I'm gonna wind this puppy
1:50:17 down
1:50:24 I'm not going to defend it it's a dumb
1:50:26 name Choice okay but here's here's what
1:50:28 I will acknowledge pate and this is you
1:50:30 know thank you for being you
1:50:35 um
1:50:37 um I do now know that if I'm at a
1:50:40 party and I'm talking to someone and I'm
1:50:43 like hey what do you do and they're like
1:50:45 oh I've got a PhD in
1:50:48 mathematics I'll be able to crack some
1:50:50 joke like how about that lat Tech markup
1:50:53 language for the
1:50:58 formulas and then they'll say something
1:51:00 matthy because they assume I know their
1:51:02 world and then I just I'll just pretend
1:51:05 I'll just smile and like eat a a piece
1:51:08 of dry chicken and pretend to choke on
1:51:10 it and just walk away that'll be good
1:51:18 [Laughter]
1:51:25 I have a latch
1:51:31 allergy all right good people of the
1:51:33 world this was fun hope you had fun
1:51:35 tonight let me get rid of this thing and
1:51:39 I get rid of that and then I'm gonna
1:51:42 move this here so I can see you all in
1:51:46 front of
1:51:51 me um
1:51:54 I think it's important for me to
1:51:57 acknowledge that tonight was what I
1:52:00 would consider a soft
1:52:02 [Laughter]
1:52:08 night uh probably probably not a lot of
1:52:11 uh not a lot of wait what's the song
1:52:14 what's what's song Brandon I said I was
1:52:16 going to do a song are people excited
1:52:18 about doing a song I can do a song
1:52:25 [Music]
1:52:30 is always thank you for sharing Kyle and
1:52:32 the Irregulars of
1:52:33 course thank you call me
1:52:36 Al
1:52:40 um yeah so I hope you had a good time
1:52:42 tonight I know it was a little bit of a
1:52:45 chat add night we need an office tour
1:52:49 now that we can see all the things all
1:52:52 right we can well do that I'll do that
1:52:54 tomorrow so okay so so let's let's talk
1:52:56 about tomorrow so if you're new
1:53:00 here um tomorrow's Friday yes so look at
1:53:03 the little banner down
1:53:07 here and if you're on Tik Tok so
1:53:10 tomorrow at 11:00 a mountain time so 1
1:53:15 pm New York 10:00 a.m. Pacific Australia
1:53:19 it's probably [ __ ] next Thursday I
1:53:21 don't know what I there's a math thing
1:53:25 and a 24-hour problem that I just I
1:53:28 cannot deal with okay so you're you're
1:53:30 on your own you're gonna have to figure
1:53:33 it out 11:00 am mountain time tomorrow
1:53:37 on LinkedIn I have a thing called AI
1:53:40 office
1:53:41 hours and if you just search for my
1:53:43 account I'm Kyle Shannon on LinkedIn and
1:53:45 go to my past events all of the AI
1:53:48 office hours it's always the same URL
1:53:51 it's a Google meet URL I haven't changed
1:53:53 it in like a year and a half um it's a
1:53:56 really cool group so just come hang out
1:53:57 and I'll tomorrow morning I'll put out a
1:53:59 reminder and so if you see my channel
1:54:01 you'll probably see a reminder for it
1:54:03 okay so that's called office hours AI
1:54:06 office hours um tomorrow night we're
1:54:09 doing another one of these things we
1:54:12 call it Friday night date night you you
1:54:14 you get yourself some nachos um we we we
1:54:19 support uh air fryers for nachos um you
1:54:22 can also bring a a Hot Pocket microwaved
1:54:26 in a dirty microwave that you still have
1:54:29 from college that's acceptable too has
1:54:31 to be in the
1:54:32 sleeve um we also encourage you to bring
1:54:35 a blind
1:54:36 date so bring a date you've never met
1:54:40 you say Hey you know you want to come
1:54:41 back to my place we'll watch a little
1:54:43 something they'll think it's going to be
1:54:45 a Netflix and chill situation and then
1:54:47 you put on the AI learning lab and you
1:54:49 just sit there and watch me act like an
1:54:51 idiot and then what I can promise you is
1:54:54 within 15 minutes they won't be in your
1:54:56 place anymore it's just it's an awesome
1:55:00 time so so bring a date or if if you
1:55:02 don't have a date come I'll be your date
1:55:04 we'll just we'll hang out together so
1:55:06 tomorrow's Friday night date night we'll
1:55:08 start tomorrow's not first Friday right
1:55:10 no we're in the middle of the
1:55:12 month so I think we'll start 8 8 800 PM
1:55:15 mountain time tomorrow and then we'll
1:55:18 we'll do Friday night date night I'll
1:55:20 probably have my [ __ ] a little more
1:55:21 together today was a very busy day so I
1:55:23 didn't I I had no chance to allow my
1:55:26 brain to switch into this mode
1:55:31 um yeah I always forget to switch live
1:55:39 chat oh look some pictures of the Google
1:55:42 office to share with you guys will post
1:55:45 if people want yeah share those share
1:55:48 those over in the regulars Pate that
1:55:49 would be
1:55:50 cool we're in 2026
1:55:53 we're we're already in 2027 here in
1:55:56 Australia yeah exactly I don't know what
1:55:58 you guys are doing with your dates down
1:55:59 there here here's the other thing can I
1:56:01 just say another
1:56:04 thing this just doesn't make any sense
1:56:07 to me I mean it does if you follow
1:56:11 science but like right now in Denver
1:56:14 it's like we're going into winter we it
1:56:17 snowed four days last
1:56:19 week and and you're going into summer it
1:56:23 just seems
1:56:24 rude it just seems rude like like why
1:56:28 would we not sync those things up and
1:56:30 sure axis of the earth closer to the Sun
1:56:34 I get the physics of it but it just
1:56:36 seems
1:56:37 rude you just like the the dates are
1:56:39 always [ __ ] up it's always tomorrow
1:56:42 tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow I
1:56:44 think Shakespeare was writing about
1:56:46 Australia and then and then you just
1:56:49 everything's [ __ ] up with the seasons
1:56:51 and so so like I'm thinking Merry
1:56:53 Christmas and you're like oh it's
1:56:55 [ __ ]
1:56:56 hot right doesn't that seem rude
1:57:04 anyway in Oz time zone means something
1:57:08 [Laughter]
1:57:15 else wait long enough and we'll be back
1:57:18 in Sy with them yeah that's true that's
1:57:20 true we're we're we're melt this planet
1:57:23 will just all be it'll be all summer all
1:57:26 the time soon um all

1:59:25 change on
1:59:27 us our life that we miss and may reg may
1:59:31 may regret it what's like what's AI
1:59:34 going to change in
1:59:38 us I don't think we're going to regret
1:59:41 it I think we're going to get smarter
1:59:42 and more empathetic because of
1:59:45 AI I think it's gonna I I
1:59:48 I I I still hold this really optimistic
1:59:51 place that that people that choose to
1:59:55 engage with AI are going to get
1:59:56 Amplified and it's it's going to change
1:59:59 the way our brains work in a really
