3:39 right fair warning if you're new here
3:42 I'm annoying I sing in between
3:46 things apparently that gets people
3:49 flx enough that they ask about it so
3:52 just know that that's
3:54 coming and not like singing like I just
3:56 did with the guitar no no like la la la
3:59 la la
4:01 strange songs hums just it's you know
4:04 it's it's the add
4:07 talking Kyle wants to make sure his
4:09 kidneys work well I live in Denver
4:11 honest to God if you if you ever move to
4:13 the high desert just be fair wared uh
4:16 drinking fluids is is a
4:20 profession it was like it was like the
4:22 first three years I lived here I'm like
4:24 why do I have so many headaches why do I
4:26 have headaches when I wake up in the
4:27 morning it's dehydration like
4:30 and it's it's I mean it's you got to
4:33 drink a
4:36 lot all right I lived in Salt Lake City
4:39 for 5 years see
4:42 see oh
4:44 man okay so we'll get going I got some I
4:48 I uh if you remember if you've been to
4:52 this channel more than once you know
4:54 I've got this fancy little chart
4:56 thing and I and I give you like these
4:59 things you got to screenshot well guess
5:01 what I added that [ __ ] to the AI Salon
5:05 website so you don't have to screenshot
5:07 it anymore but you do have to join the
5:09 salon to go get it but it's cool look at
5:12 this look all this stuff all these links
5:15 all these links I got on a uh on a
5:20 mighty networks page but you got to hang
5:22 out you got to hang out you can't just
5:24 you can't just go
5:25 there right now well you can if you're
5:27 part of the AI salon
5:30 but that's coming we got that coming so
5:32 you got that to look forward to what
5:36 else um so I can delete the 10,000
5:40 screenshots I have of your computer
5:41 screen no Source Camp you have to keep
5:44 those if if you're if you're a true
5:47 neurodivergent um digital hoarding is
5:49 part of is part of the it's part of the
5:52 Affliction so so no you just might need
5:55 those screenshots someday you're going
5:57 to turn them into a lovely doily
6:00 that you you print them out on fabric
6:03 and you're going to turn them into a
6:04 lovely doily someday so no I would not
6:06 get rid of those screen shots no I would
6:12 not oh man all right someone lunatic's
6:16 just north of Tampa I've got family in
6:18 Tampa is Vicky in here uh I know Vicky
6:21 was dealing with some stuff she emailed
6:24 me earlier so she may or may not be
6:27 lived in Denver and Loveland Pate can
6:29 confirm
6:30 dry electrical arcs when you pull the
6:33 blanket off the bed it's so true static
6:37 electricity here is is a
6:39 [Laughter]
6:43 hazard someone appreciated the digital
6:45 hoarding comment yeah I mean anybody
6:49 else
6:50 have like can you see it no down here
6:54 this box right here is full of nothing
6:57 but hard drives what's on those hard
7:00 drives I don't know but it's really
7:02 important that I don't get rid of them
7:03 cuz I've had them for five
7:05 [Laughter]
7:10 decades all right Vicky is here and
7:14 present how dare you question
7:17 her her
7:20 presence she has hair and counted for
7:23 good evening good
7:26 day hi Kyle every Life Starts on your
7:28 smile a a that's very
7:33 sweet uh wait it isn't everywhere what
7:37 what isn't
7:41 everywhere see this singing is the thing
7:43 people annoys do you mean the one
7:45 megabyte hard drives from the 70s and
7:47 80s yeah and and things
7:51 like cyquest Drive cartridges for the
7:54 digital magazine you started in
7:57 1994 oh yeah 44 megabytes of goodness
8:02 here anything still on it who knows no
8:05 one has these
8:13 anymore oh man all right so so welcome
8:17 my name is Kyle Shannon this is the AI
8:18 learning lab if you're new here what we
8:20 do around these parts is Kyle you need a
8:23 Stanley Cup for
8:24 Christmas I do I need so many things for
8:27 Christmas um
8:30 let's see
8:33 uh have any questions about AI pop them
8:35 in the comments below I'll I'll do what
8:38 I can to answer them we'll demo some
8:40 stuff um we'll dig into chat GPT we were
8:43 playing with Bard a little bit last
8:44 night I know you hear P I don't think
8:46 you were here um you were here last
8:48 night but we did play with a little Bard
8:50 last
8:51 night um and it did it did pretty
8:58 good I don't know
9:03 what hold please someone's asking me a
9:16 question
9:19 um I got my Omega drive right here solid
9:23 AI Salon I can't open AI Salon I can't
9:26 open in my
9:28 laptop
9:33 H it's just a website Mighty networks is
9:36 just a website what are you talking
9:41 about
9:48 uh Milo's wife is
9:50 asking is she
9:53 late
9:55 yes champ already sang you missed champ
9:58 singing there was a whole rash of a
10:01 champy champy is the reason I come who's
10:04 this fat guy you missed all
10:08 that I was very minimally here cool
10:11 sorry to miss it ah okay glad to hear it
10:14 it's at least not terrible no you know
10:16 what Pate what what was interesting
10:18 about Bard is
10:20 um so I've done a couple of times I've
10:23 done um creative writing exercises with
10:27 between you know
10:30 uh Claude and Bard or chat GPT and Bard
10:33 and I actually thought
10:35 Bard did qualitatively
10:38 better than chat GPT
10:41 3.5 yeah in a on a on a on a in a on a
10:46 scientific uh comparison of like three
10:50 prompts but it was good it was really
10:53 good the chat GPT
10:55 3.5 minimize characters per response net
10:59 now I
11:00 don't
11:03 possibly I don't think
11:07 so where is my
11:16 mouse chat GPT
11:20 3.5 they're not saying that they did
11:28 um
11:30 write me a 5
11:35 thou write
11:37 me a
11:39 5,000-word epic
11:41 poem about a dog that sings whenever a
11:45 guitar is
11:50 [Music]
11:58 played
12:00 that looks pretty
12:02 long that was a pretty long response I
12:04 don't know um it's possible I mean you
12:07 know when when Dolly first came out it
12:09 generated four images and then it
12:10 generated two images and now it
12:12 generates one
12:13 image but if you use the dolly GPT it
12:17 generates two there's a little trick for
12:18 you what's your opinion on chat GPT
12:21 becoming
12:22 lazy um it seems like the lazy um The
12:28 Lazy Lobby
12:29 has got a good PR firm I don't know I
12:33 don't first of all I don't know what
12:34 chat GPT being lazy
12:37 means um I see a lot of people talking
12:40 about it I saw that
12:43 GPT um chat GPT like a a Twitter site
12:46 from chat GPT I think it was the
12:49 official one responded to it and said
12:52 nothing's been changed since November
12:54 11th so we're not sure what you're
12:55 talking about but we're looking into it
12:58 um
13:00 it's possible so so one of the things
13:03 that happens with these large language
13:05 models is something called Model drift I
13:07 don't understand a ton about it my
13:09 assumption about model drift was as the
13:12 engineers [ __ ] around with the thing
13:14 on the back end and tried to make it
13:16 better they would sometimes make it
13:17 worse but if indeed open AI hasn't
13:21 mucked with it since November 11th and
13:23 we're now on December 10th it's been a
13:25 month that they haven't mucked with it I
13:27 don't know maybe it's possible um I I I
13:32 I do I do not
13:35 know lazy refuses not to do things
13:38 unless pushed I haven't experienced it
13:41 but I you know I'm I'm trying to think
13:43 am I like the stuff that I've been using
13:45 it
13:51 with
13:57 h I had a couple of weird things things
13:59 where where I tried to transcribe a
14:01 video that was in
14:03 Japanese and it transcribed some of it
14:06 in Japanese and some of it in English
14:08 and some of it in like Indonesian or
14:11 something it was
14:12 weird um so I it's possible there's
14:15 weirdness going
14:17 on like so so one of the things we talk
14:20 about in here a lot is well I talk about
14:23 in here a lot is that your expectations
14:27 of these here uh large language
14:30 models should be relatively
14:35 low they are all the technical term for
14:39 it is janky pieces of
14:41 [ __ ] um everything right now is a bit of
14:44 a Jank um just because of the nature of
14:46 how early we we are in in whatever this
14:50 stuff does and if if you look at what
14:53 um what is rumored to be well not
14:56 rumored to be what is confirmed to be
14:58 called qar but is rumored to be some
15:01 remarkable tool that's going to make
15:03 chat GPT a shitload better um we're
15:06 probably not that far away from these
15:09 tools being really really really really
15:11 really really really really really good
15:14 so I would say just be patient just
15:16 expect that they're going
15:17 to things are going to crap out pate if
15:20 nobody has changed it then it's likely
15:23 an input middle component that they
15:25 changed yeah that makes sense because so
15:28 you've got
15:29 you've got your underlying large
15:31 language model down here GPT 4 or 4.5
15:34 whichever one it is and then you have
15:37 chat GPT which is an application layer
15:39 so it's possible that they they modified
15:42 some things in the application layer
15:44 just in how it calls how it how it um
15:48 talks to the underlying large language
15:50 model it's possible they put in some new
15:52 safety guard rail that screwed something
15:55 up I don't know I do not need this is
15:57 not this is not something
15:59 this is all I can do here is speculate
16:02 and Pate loves a good speculation that's
16:05 why he comes because Pate goes to other
16:07 sites for factual information but he
16:10 comes here for chat
16:12 TMZ um I noticed today it kept giving me
16:15 the steps to do something something
16:17 instead of just creating it the thing
16:19 itself Z I've had that that that drives
16:22 me [ __ ] Bonkers I tend not to have it
16:25 with chat GPT 4 um I get it more with
16:28 3.5 but and I'll get it with some of the
16:30 other things as well pie is it's piie is
16:33 horrible at that I I I went back and
16:37 forth with pi one day about a dozen
16:39 times just saying just give me the
16:41 answer I appreciate that you're
16:43 frustrated and really want the answer
16:45 but can you tell me why you want the
16:46 answer cuz I want the [ __ ]
16:50 [Laughter]
16:52 answer cuz cuz I want it I want it
16:57 now I don't want to be arguing with
16:59 these Bots that have weird personalities
17:02 that's another thing that we've
17:03 discovered here on on yield live is that
17:06 is that the the the Bots they definitely
17:08 have personalities
17:11 and and I I think this is something that
17:14 we're going to talk about at the water
17:15 cooler well will there be a water cooler
17:17 I don't don't know we don't go to the
17:19 office anymore it's going to be
17:20 something we talk about on Zoom calls
17:22 for a
17:24 while you're not going to believe what
17:26 Sydney did today she's such a little
17:28 [ __ ] sometimes
17:29 [Laughter]
17:33 oh man when messing around with scripts
17:36 it
17:37 says has ADD the rest here got to push
17:41 it to fill it all in oh yeah I have
17:44 noticed that that it truncates
17:46 things yeah that one's a weird one so
17:49 maybe maybe I have experienced it I've
17:51 experienced the truncation things the
17:53 truncation thing where it it just
17:56 doesn't in fact I I experienced it today
18:00 I experienced it today when I went so I
18:02 took my
18:05 um I took my slides of all the the
18:08 hyperlinks that I tell you all to go
18:11 look
18:12 at saved it as a PDF imported into the
18:16 chat chpt and I said make this list it
18:20 skipped the slide consistently it just
18:22 there was one slide it just skipped the
18:24 piie
18:25 slide and then other slides it just in
18:28 included like two of the links not four
18:30 of the links I have no idea what was
18:32 going on with it it was
18:35 weird and I did I had to keep yelling at
18:37 it so yeah maybe it's a
18:39 thing maybe it's a thing I don't know
18:44 lower your expectations in life in life
18:46 in general if you can have no
18:48 expectations you'll never be
18:54 disappointed I would say your your your
18:57 expectations of of the chat gpts of the
19:00 world today should be zero and
19:02 everything else is uh is gravy so and
19:05 it's a lot of gravy right now there's a
19:07 lot of good stuff going
19:08 on so hey guys I posted a photo and a
19:11 poem and to show and tell you need to
19:13 click on it to read the poem okay cool
19:15 we'll check that
19:16 out watching the Cowboy game too very
19:19 nice am I the only one that had
19:21 everything freeze Kyle you should read
19:23 the poem steo posted just on show and
19:26 tell when you can okay I will go do that
19:30 that what is your personal favorite use
19:33 case for
19:34 AI mpy chat GPT has definitely been
19:37 grumpy grumpy um my personal favorite
19:42 use case for
19:54 AI I don't know there's so many like it
19:56 almost depends like in what area of my
19:59 life or
20:00 business I'm really excited about my
20:04 company's
20:05 new
20:07 AI features
20:11 um so it's like what we've created is is
20:14 a Content generation machine where you
20:17 upload upload a video and then it just
20:19 starts it just starts automatically
20:22 building [ __ ] it's cool so that I'm
20:24 happy with
20:27 um I I I think as a as a broad category
20:30 the thing that well well Dolly 3 so
20:35 being able to generate images in the
20:37 context of a
20:39 conversation for me is huge cuz I love
20:42 like talking and you know hand waving
20:44 things like
20:46 that and the fact that can just make
20:48 images is is really powerful and then I
20:50 but I think if you if you're talking
20:51 just like pure large language model like
20:54 a thing it does that just blows me away
20:57 consistently
20:59 is its ability to read large documents
21:02 and let you interact with them so a
21:05 couple of weeks ago in here I uploaded
21:08 one of my screen plays a 30-year-old
21:11 screenplay I haven't looked at in two
21:13 decades
21:15 and it instantly read it gave me a
21:18 Hollywood log line um described the most
21:22 visually interesting scenes generated
21:25 images for those like it totally brought
21:27 it back to life for me
21:29 like that kind of stuff and then code
21:31 interpreter where you can upload um a
21:33 CSV file of data and it just reads the
21:36 the data and analyzes it for
21:39 you so for me for me it's like the thing
21:43 on the surface that chat GPT is good at
21:46 is you know generating things write a
21:48 poem about quantum mechanics oh look how
21:50 neat but the thing that just really
21:52 blows me away is especially if it's like
21:54 a a chunk of data that I know something
21:57 about
21:59 and it just reads it it reads an entire
22:02 screenplay in
22:03 seconds and then tells you about it it's
22:06 like holy [ __ ] that that to me is just
22:09 wild so let me
22:13 go let's go do something here we're
22:15 going to we're going to hop over to the
22:17 might
22:18 networks to the AI Salon oh there we
22:24 go and we are going to go to Welcome to
22:29 the salon okay so this is the AI Salon
22:33 it's it's this it's this community space
22:36 that we've created this channel the AI
22:39 learning lab in a lot of ways is an
22:41 extension of this community called the
22:43 AI salon and we just moved to Mighty
22:46 networks
22:48 about a month ago and it's it's really
22:52 coming along nicely and it's got all
22:55 sorts of resources which I I'll talk
22:57 about what the salon's about in in a
22:58 second um we've got like a water cooler
23:02 discussion a Welcome Wagon where if
23:03 you're new you introduce yourself to the
23:05 community show and tell which we're
23:06 going to go look at Steve's poem right
23:08 now um there's a news channel there's
23:10 tools and resources which I'm going to
23:12 show you a page I just added to that and
23:14 then there's guilds and the guilds are
23:15 really amazing so there's a a 101 Guild
23:18 if you're if you're a um a beginner
23:21 there's a a Art Guild a writing Guild a
23:24 business Guild uh P runs the mechanics
23:27 Guild which is geeky there Healthcare
23:28 there's a video we're going to be adding
23:30 an education
23:31 Guild um hey Kyle I'm an iOS
23:35 Dev am I going to be obsolete in 5 years
23:38 no it's probably going to be more like
23:40 two
23:44 years I I I would say now are you going
23:48 to be obsolete no but if you're not AI
23:51 literate if you're if if you're not an
23:53 AI literate iOS dev then I I I think
23:56 that it's going to be increasingly tough
23:58 to find work if you're not AI literate
24:00 why are they called guilds
24:02 because
24:04 um when we talk about um the AI Salon
24:09 what we talk about is being a community
24:12 of extraordinary adventurers exploring
24:14 the a AI unknown so see this kind of
24:17 fantasy you know ad Adventure Pack
24:20 heading off into the uh into the the
24:22 great abyss of AI so we describe who we
24:25 are as a ragtag group of Misfits n do
24:28 Wells and Mis creant who have gathered
24:29 to explore the Uncharted Wilderness of
24:31 generative AI so it's Guild like old and
24:33 timey guilds so think communities of
24:36 Interest right so you've got you've got
24:38 someone leading the guild that is really
24:41 passionate about that and then you have
24:43 a group of people that opt in to hang
24:44 out go to meetings learn about things do
24:47 things together um the other thing about
24:49 the salon is um our values so so we've
24:54 these values are derived from like what
24:57 this community's already about and so
24:59 the reason we put them on here is we
25:01 want people to join that resonate with
25:03 these so curiosity is one of them
25:05 generosity is another one like if you
25:07 learn something share it like don't be
25:10 stingy like be generous why not the the
25:12 stuff's changing every three months
25:14 every month Christ every three months uh
25:17 every month um exploration we want
25:19 people that are on this adventure
25:20 choosing to be on this adventure we want
25:22 people that are collaborative and want
25:23 to work together we want people that are
25:26 willing to you know work with people
25:28 people from all different professions
25:29 education backgrounds experience
25:31 backgrounds like it none of that [ __ ]
25:33 should matter cuz everyone's trying to
25:35 figure this stuff out and then the final
25:37 one is empathy we want people that um
25:40 recognize that everyone's going through
25:42 some stuff and uh and you know that
25:46 we're willing to be people first and
25:48 then technology second so anyway so
25:50 that's what it's about so let's go to um
25:53 and I'll tell you how to get here in a
25:55 second but let's go to show and tail
25:57 shoot
26:00 Anil oh that's beautiful who's that be
26:03 not afraid that's
26:05 gorgeous
26:07 gorgeous have you seen the great
26:09 Maryland tree in the
26:13 woods Jenny
26:15 you I'm fascinated by mid Journey
26:18 hallucinations the three-legged
26:20 Partridge is growing on
26:24 me on the first day of Christmas my true
26:28 love gave to me a three-legged portridge
26:30 in a
26:34 patry that's
26:38 awesome okay steo all right here's the
26:42 uh there's the I I think that's supposed
26:45 to be me or fat Alec baldman which I've
26:48 been accused
26:49 of all
26:51 right let's do the poem all right oh God
26:54 here we go on Tick Tock night Kyle's
26:56 plan took flight while dressed as Santa
26:59 spreading Delight see what he's trying
27:01 to do is he's trying to get me to dress
27:02 like this on on Christmas this is this
27:05 I'm totally being baited here
27:06 people with a ho ho ho and a cheer so
27:09 bright Kyle brought Joy a festive
27:11 Delight in his Santa suit for all to see
27:13 a Tic Tac a Tik Tock star with ADD
27:17 welcome to chat add his laughter e
27:20 echoed a Mary's stream a joler Santa has
27:22 seldom been seen with every post his
27:25 Spirit grew sharing AI wonders to me and
27:28 you in a world where likes and shares of
27:31 the key he filled Tick Tock with holiday
27:33 Glee through the lens his Joy did beam
27:37 this is our Kyle's favorite stream oh
27:39 it's beautiful awesome thank you there
27:42 we
27:43 go and that's that's pretty much what it
27:46 looks like here although that desk is
27:48 much more neat than mine is the hair is
27:50 on point though well here's the the
27:53 glue's holding right now but you'll see
27:55 by the end it'll it'll we'll lose it
27:58 um that's awesome let's see what else we
28:00 got going in Show and Tell so so the
28:02 show and tell Channel as you can imagine
28:03 is make cool [ __ ] and put it there ad
28:06 the ADHD Beacon very nice this is how we
28:09 all found each other Vicki that's
28:12 great that's you know what's funny that
28:16 in a in a in a lot of ways that's what
28:18 this channel is I'm also noticing that
28:21 the the
28:23 pace the pace of change with this AI
28:27 stuff
28:29 is so fast that neurod Divergent people
28:34 and adders and ocers and all the all the
28:37 Acron
28:38 nyers um tend to be migrating to it
28:42 because it's it's just every day is a
28:44 [ __ ] endorphin R Rush of oh wait
28:47 everything's completely different okay
28:49 let me try to figure this out holy [ __ ]
28:51 what do I do what do I do it's just it's
28:54 it's frenetic all the time I need to
28:56 double check but I don't think those
28:59 things three legs are technically
29:08 hallucinations oh the bait is working HR
29:11 is going to be busy tomorrow hysterical
29:13 I love it start a poll U the hair I know
29:18 love the hair right I told chat GPT to
29:20 be People First Technology second and it
29:23 was offended yeah that's funny when when
29:27 uh
29:28 when Larry pagee and Elon Musk were
29:31 having dinner one night while they were
29:33 still speaking they got in a big fight
29:35 over Ai and and Larry pagee called Elon
29:38 Musk a
29:41 speciesist he he was he Larry pige was
29:44 offended that Elon thought people were
29:46 more important than the
29:51 Bots we've drawn into the live and we
29:54 don't know oh we're drawn into the live
29:56 and we don't know why
29:59 come come to the live welcome welcome
30:02 just keep coming everything's going to
30:04 be fine you're going to have a lovely
30:06 evening tonight relax and breathe let's
30:08 go in through the no
30:10 nose and out through the
30:13 mouth in through the
30:15 nose and out through the mouth fantastic
30:19 all right now what I want you to do is
30:20 close your eyes and think deeply all
30:24 right how can I share what I create okay
30:27 so here's what here's what we're going
30:28 to do um to get to the AI
30:34 Salon go to that address the
30:37 salon. that's our fancy AI URL that
30:41 thing cost $250 flipping dollars so use
30:44 it well that will take you to a link
30:46 tree the first link in the link tree is
30:49 to the to the community to the AI Salon
30:52 website it's a mighty Network networks
30:55 website so so the address of Mighty
30:57 Network is um AIS salon. mn. Co but
31:02 the.co screw screws people up so just go
31:05 to the salon. click on the first link
31:08 there's a merch store there if you like
31:09 the logo we've got a one-year
31:11 anniversary logo that I think is going
31:12 to be on sale through tonight um so the
31:15 oneye anniversary our our one-year
31:17 anniversary was last week um we I
31:20 started the salon a week after chat GPT
31:23 started because I lost my [ __ ]
31:26 mind and and a little bit about my
31:28 background so I was I was an Entre I've
31:30 been an entrepreneur for decades and I
31:33 started one of the first digital
31:34 agencies in 1994 so I was there for the
31:37 early days of the worldwide web and I
31:40 never thought in my lifetime that I
31:42 would be at the beginning of something
31:45 that was going to change the world ever
31:47 again and here we are so this AI stuff
31:51 in my opinion is um has it it it's got
31:55 all the Hallmarks of what was happening
31:57 with the web in '94 when I when I
31:59 stumbled onto that um except this AI
32:03 stuff is moving a hell of a lot faster
32:05 and it's a hell of a lot more capable
32:07 just remember if Kyle asks us to cut off
32:10 our families we are 100% in a
32:14 cult until then we're
32:18 good listen anyone who's not into AI is
32:21 not someone you'd want to talk to anyway
32:24 don't go home for Christmas Stay With Me
32:27 yeah exactly when it goes when it goes
32:29 there just but here's the nice thing
32:31 about this channel is is everyone will
32:33 tell me all right that's the line Kyle
32:35 knock it off all right enough now so
32:37 we're good right now um but it I'll tell
32:40 you this community really is I mean I
32:42 don't know if it's cult likee but it
32:44 it's it's very close there's a lot of
32:46 people that show up here night after
32:47 night they're called the Irregulars
32:49 because they are um they name themselves
32:52 that not
32:53 me um but it's it's just the perfect
32:55 name and it's it's just
32:58 it's it's a really cool bunch of people
32:59 and so we all now hang out at the salon
33:02 and so what you do is you go to that
33:05 link you go to the salon. you click on
33:07 that first link for Mighty networks and
33:10 then you join and then my request is um
33:13 the first place I want you to visit is
33:14 welcome to the salon like go read about
33:17 you know who we are and why we do what
33:19 we do and and what the values are read
33:21 about the
33:23 values um and then go to the Welcome
33:26 Wagon and introduce yourself um so hello
33:29 room here's Ivan so welcome Ivan um you
33:33 know tell us who you are tell us what
33:35 you do tell us where you are on the AI
33:37 Journey um be generous with it that's
33:39 that's one of the the values and then
33:41 the water cooler is just a discussion
33:43 kind of a free-for-all discussion um and
33:46 the show and tell channel is where you
33:48 can um share what you're doing and so
33:50 basically at the top of the show Intel
33:52 Channel once you join you just it says
33:55 share what's on your mind we've got a
33:57 feed and you just put stuff in there oh
33:59 that's cool the Kool-Aid AI lab that's
34:02 really cool who did that Charlie Charlie
34:05 you belly very
34:07 cool nice this image spontaneously
34:10 created in response to People First
34:11 Technology second oh I love that
34:14 actually I love
34:19 that you know you know in a lot of ways
34:23 that's kind of what goes on here night
34:25 after night like that's kind of what's
34:27 happening here I you know I wish we were
34:29 in Central Park you know having a picnic
34:32 together um but we sort of
34:37 are no it's not Kyle thanks Danielle no
34:41 it's not Kyle rude shakes my
34:44 head that's that's where I'm going if I
34:46 keep up with the pancakes God I love
34:49 that
34:50 one there's the three-legged
34:52 three-legged Quail there's drunk Santa
34:55 with my iced coffee cheers
35:01 see very very nice you had a link that
35:05 said
35:06 ADHD did I
35:10 where I don't I don't I don't
35:13 know this
35:18 one it might have just been a hashtag
35:20 someone put in
35:23 ADHD this one's in show and
35:26 tell oh the other thing we did the other
35:29 we've been doing um the other night is
35:31 uh people have been doing Christmas
35:32 ornaments so so AI salon and AI learning
35:35 lab Christmas
35:36 ornaments oh and this was from this is
35:39 thanks Ted so so so um in my in my
35:46 reminder video that I did did today I I
35:49 attempted to say steampunk and I said
35:51 steam Puck so Ted went ahead and obliged
35:55 and made me a steam P puck
36:00 this this is the kind of trolling that I
36:02 appreciate in this channel because you
36:04 love it it's awesome but at the same
36:06 time it's like
36:07 man there's just no relenting I suppose
36:10 I I didn't have to up upload the uh the
36:13 video with the the stumble in it but
36:16 listen authenticity do you know that
36:18 authenticity is the Mariam Webster word
36:20 of the year for
36:24 2023 with all this talk of AI
36:27 authenticity is the thing people are
36:32 searching
36:34 why cuz technolog is too cold
36:39 [ __ ] which open AI model has
36:41 the largest context window that would be
36:43 chat GPT 4 which is now up
36:48 to's it up to 200,000
36:55 right or 150 I don't know I don't
36:57 remember but it's
36:59 big it's big
37:01 now I feel we need to 3D print them all
37:04 and put them on our trees I know it's
37:06 they're so cool these the uh the
37:08 Christmas images are so
37:12 cool look at that
37:16 [Laughter]
37:18 one that's cute stable diffusion prompt
37:22 extreme closeup of a tired firefighter
37:25 that's actually really good
37:29 does he have weird eyes not maybe maybe
37:32 a little little funkiness going on right
37:35 there but that's something you could fix
37:36 with generative
37:40 fill thank you Joker that one's awesome
37:43 oh wow that's nice who did that Danielle
37:48 beautiful I mean like imagine printing
37:51 that in resin and then painting it
37:54 that's gorgeous and you could absolutely
37:56 do that
37:58 you'd have to get you know some sort of
38:00 3D extracting thing but those are all
38:03 coming if if they're not here
38:06 now is that Silver Fox no it's Danielle
38:08 it's beautiful ice queen I
38:10 suppose made it even colder oh yeah this
38:13 is an example of one of those things so
38:15 so there's a cool thing you can do in
38:18 um in chat gp4 with Dolly 3 you can also
38:22 do it in Microsoft's
38:24 co-pilot is you write a prompt with you
38:28 know like like um an an ice queen an ice
38:32 queen in a cold land or something like
38:35 that and then you can say make it even
38:38 colder make it even colder make it even
38:41 colder so you just keep saying make it
38:42 even make it even you know more more
38:45 something more cold more spicy more more
38:47 hot whatever it might be and then it it
38:50 just it just starts doing stuff like
38:51 this or it gets super extreme we should
38:54 have an AI learning lab's 2024 calendar
38:57 I have a GPT for that oh that's a great
38:58 idea Christopher Ramsey that's actually
39:00 not a bad idea um all right I think I
39:03 think what I'm going to do it's oh [ __ ]
39:05 it's December 10th already well whatever
39:08 welcome to add land um I think I'll put
39:11 together we just put together a
39:13 Teespring
39:15 um a merch store for the AI
39:18 salon so let's see where is it if you go
39:20 down to the very bottom of the links
39:22 there's a merch store link and that
39:24 takes you to so here's the these are AI
39:28 um this is the the AI Salon um first
39:32 anniversary the limited edition
39:35 logo um so I think I'll do something
39:39 like this for the AI learning lab and
39:40 I'll I'll see if I can I think Teespring
39:42 probably has calendars so we might be
39:44 able to do a calendar that's a really
39:45 good idea and and we'll we'll feature a
39:48 bunch of different Irregulars who who
39:50 regularly contribute I think that would
39:52 be super
39:53 cool um all right cool um the less cold
39:57 one is lower down that one's pretty who
40:00 did that Silver Fox that's gorgeous
40:03 what's the does she have the prompt
40:05 there Daisy Thomas
40:09 inspired wow
40:11 beautiful oh nice dollhouse Mansion
40:15 decorated for Christmas in my cubism
40:17 Creator oh cool so Daisy so Daisy she's
40:21 also she's lunatick in here she put
40:24 together she's now built 50 GP
40:27 50
40:30 5 and that's one of
40:32 them look there's the learning lab truck
40:36 thank you
40:37 Ted Elon
40:40 Elon oh that's
40:44 beautiful the cubism thing there's the
40:46 cookie tin very nice I like that one
40:49 too all right so anyway so that's Show
40:51 and Tell um let's go to new activity
40:53 let's see what's what y'all been dumping
40:55 up there right now
40:57 in
41:04 speciesism Cindy [ __ ] so Cindy [ __ ] is
41:07 an applied futurist so so she's I think
41:10 she particularly likes that that
41:12 particular little comment that thing
41:14 looks great that's
41:16 awesome I like fractal
41:19 Turtles oh this is really good lunar
41:22 stick all of
41:25 us oh man a shoot well I'm going to
41:28 build 51 see the competitions are the
41:31 other thing you can in in um in showand
41:33 tell you can also share your your gpts
41:36 here's here's a trick about sharing gpts
41:39 though the way open AI has coded their
41:43 URLs for your gpts when you share them
41:46 inside uh mighty networks it doesn't do
41:48 a good preview so what I've been doing
41:51 is I take a screenshot of like the icon
41:53 of the GPT and the name the description
41:56 name and description deson of it um I do
41:58 a screenshot of that and then I post
42:00 that image and then I put the link in
42:02 there so if you want to share gpts that
42:05 look better just do a screenshot of the
42:07 opening of your the beginning of your
42:09 GPT all right so super cool [ __ ] people
42:14 super cool [ __ ] I like it I like it a
42:18 lot that's beautiful too visit the AI
42:25 salon
42:28 welcome to the
42:29 Future The Future Has Arrived how can I
42:33 do a
42:34 GPT um we can go make one together we'll
42:38 go make one right now I'll show you how
42:39 to make them they're they they are
42:42 shockingly easy to make you do need chat
42:45 gp4 oh Public Service
42:49 Announcement so access to to GPT 4 from
42:53 open AI has been restricted for a long
42:55 time I noticed two or three days ago
42:59 that people were saying oh I got my
43:00 invitation for gp4 so if you're on the
43:02 wait list for chat gp4 and you haven't
43:05 checked in a while go to your
43:07 account and um see if um I would
43:12 absolutely pick it up so where you see
43:15 that so so here's
43:18 GPT you click on your name and then in
43:21 here you go to my
43:23 plan and then if you've got 3.5 you can
43:26 see if you're on the wait list or if
43:28 you've got it available to you if you've
43:30 got it available and you can afford it I
43:32 would grab it because wait what did they
43:35 add to this oh that was weird there were
43:38 four things there just a moment ago did
43:40 everyone else see
43:43 that
43:44 huh there was something right here
43:47 that's weird um all right
43:51 whatever okay so somebody wants to make
43:53 a GPT first what are gpts um wait I have
43:56 a list of gpts to make associated with
43:59 name and
44:00 expertise so when people Google me those
44:04 show up I have a list of gpts to
44:07 make associated with my name and
44:12 expertise how how did you get that list
44:15 to to
44:17 index that sounds
44:19 cool how did you get it to index because
44:22 some of my gpts are indexed and some of
44:23 them aren't so if I can do like a Google
44:25 sheet
44:27 and then get that index that would be
44:28 super cool Becky Ru
44:31 hello how's it going quilt
44:34 Queen Becky rusin her first GPT was to a
44:37 quilt maker which is super cool she
44:40 loves
44:47 quilting okay
44:49 so what are
44:52 gpts when you have chat GPT 4 it can do
44:56 a lot of things it can make images it
44:58 can see images it can analyze data um
45:02 one of the things that is is um a
45:06 persistent um misunderstanding that was
45:10 based on some
45:11 reality is that chat GPT um has old data
45:15 in it so two things have happened
45:17 they've updated that data so it used to
45:19 be September 2021 was its most recent
45:22 recent data now that's April of 2023 but
45:25 it's also now connected to the internet
45:28 so chat gp4 has many many capabilities
45:33 you can't see they're basically all
45:36 hidden under the surface and it's just
45:38 depending on what you ask it to do it
45:40 does different things so if I just
45:42 upload an image if I click on this
45:45 little paperclip thing here and upload
45:48 an image let me go find
45:53 one that truck's a good one let's let's
45:56 grab that
45:58 truck and I'll
46:02 say describe this in as much detail as
46:06 possible and try to give me a make model
46:10 and gear of the truck in the
46:15 picture and so we upload the picture and
46:18 now chat PT can see the picture and it
46:21 and it's going to comment on
46:24 it the IM deps no a nostalgic scene
46:28 centered around a classic pickup truck
46:30 at a Christmas tree lot the truck is
46:32 captured from a rear angle showcasing a
46:34 vibrant red body with the words AI
46:36 learning
46:37 lab printed in the decorative font on
46:40 the tailgate the truck appears to be
46:42 from the mid 20th century reminiscent of
46:44 the design styles of the 40s and 50s but
46:46 without specific makeing model the scene
46:48 is
46:49 Illustrated all right given the lack of
46:52 a distinctive manufacturer emblems or
46:56 model specific design
46:58 features I can't really do it ah
47:05 you however if this were a real world
47:07 scenario one might compare the truck's
47:09 design features to the known models well
47:14 yeah one
47:16 might can you compare the features to
47:21 the models that you describe below
47:23 rather than having me do it you lazy
47:25 piece of
47:28 [Music]
47:30 poop now listen I do not recommend being
47:34 smarmy with your robot friends because
47:37 they will remember at some point right
47:38 now they can't remember so you're good
47:41 although I apologize for any confusion I
47:44 may have caused without access to a
47:46 database of vintage Vehicles all right
47:48 whatever it doesn't want to do it so
47:50 anyway chat GPT can do can do that it
47:54 can make images too
47:57 and so so you can do lots of things with
48:00 it it can write code it can write papers
48:02 it can write project plans it can it can
48:04 do all sorts of stuff oh share a chat
48:06 share the chat that was what that extra
48:08 thing was okay um now what a GPT is if
48:12 you if you notice down my left hand side
48:14 I've got all this big long list with
48:16 these circles beside it every one of
48:17 these is a GPT a GPT is basically just a
48:21 personalized customized version of chat
48:24 GPT 4 and well like C but Cal what do
48:28 you mean personalize customize well it's
48:30 just it's it's designed to do a specific
48:33 thing so the very first one I made I
48:35 made on this
48:37 channel and it's called Sin City sipper
48:41 this is still one of my favorite ones um
48:43 and what sinim city city sipper is is
48:46 and and by the way chat gbt came up with
48:48 the name sinim City sipper it came up
48:50 with a name like I don't know like
48:53 bartending assistant or some just shitty
48:55 name like that and I'm I'm like no
48:56 that's boring give me something really
48:57 good and it came up with Sin City sipper
49:00 so it'll basically this is a a drink
49:03 recipe maker it's like a virtual
49:06 bartender that takes classic drink
49:09 recipes and um gives them a Vegas twist
49:13 so let's see reinvent the let's see
49:17 what's your Twist on a Moscow Mule we'll
49:20 start I've got some pre-written things
49:22 in
49:23 there and then it'll either describe the
49:26 drink and make an image or it'll start
49:28 with making an image of the drink and
49:30 then tell you what it is and so in this
49:31 case it's starting with making the image
49:34 so it's and what's cool is the the
49:36 images that it makes of these drinks are
49:38 like I they're so good it's like they
49:40 could go immediately into into a menu
49:44 like look at that with the gold the gold
49:47 Aspen Leaf here let's see the Sin City
49:51 Twist on a classic Moscow Mule that's as
49:53 exciting as a night out in Vegas the
49:56 Vegas Gold Rush Mule 2 O of vodka 4 o of
50:01 ginger beer that's what I'm having
50:03 tonight that would actually be really
50:05 delicious um half ounce of fresh lime
50:08 splash of champagne for that Vegas
50:10 Sparkle edible Gold Leaf for garnish and
50:13 a fresh mint sprig beautiful and then I
50:17 also made it so that it
50:20 um it does a call to action for my
50:23 business now my business is Story vine
50:25 we videos we don't do drinks but I just
50:28 said after you've given someone a drink
50:31 give them a link to my storyvine website
50:33 and tell them that they can get more
50:34 drink recipes over there so so with one
50:37 of these gpts you could create it as
50:40 like a business calling card the other
50:42 thing that you can do is you can add
50:45 your own data to them so another one
50:48 that I
50:50 created uh uh uh this this is the salmon
50:55 flying East screenplay decoder explore
50:59 Kyle Shannon and Brian dyra haunting
51:01 screenplay so let's see what happens in
51:04 the first scene of the
51:06 screenplay so I uploaded my screenplay
51:09 into this thing and so it knows my
51:11 screenplay so it's now reading my
51:13 screenplay and it's going to tell us
51:15 what the first scene is and then it
51:18 should if it if it behaves itself if if
51:20 chat gbt hasn't gotten too lazy it
51:23 should not only explain the scene but it
51:25 the Lend make a storyboard from the
51:28 scene the first scene of salmon flying
51:30 East is set in Gig Harbor Washington
51:32 1991 Just Before Dawn that's correct the
51:35 atmosphere is described as foggy with
51:37 the Northwest air hanging over the water
51:40 glassy water of the Puget Sound a white
51:42 fishing boat with a blue stripe is
51:44 resing resting in a creaking slip
51:46 indicating a quiet scene a quiet Serene
51:50 Harbor inside the fishing boat's cabin
51:53 like I see the the scene transitions to
51:55 the exterior of the fishing boat where
51:57 Jack emerges from below deck he is
51:59 adjusting his mourning hair sheet marks
52:02 on his face adding a touch of realism to
52:04 his character as he inhales a nose full
52:06 of morning air it's mixed with cigarette
52:08 smoke he steps off the boat and onto the
52:10 dock there you
52:12 go there he is there's his white fishing
52:16 boat with the blue stripe stepping onto
52:18 the dock smoking a
52:20 cigarette I mean come on is Brian
52:23 related to Lenny dyra no he's not
52:26 although when when he and I were writing
52:28 screenplays Lenny dyro was still playing
52:30 for the Mets so we talked to and and
52:32 Brian was a big baseball fan and he used
52:35 to actually go to I think it was Yankee
52:37 Yankees games and he would score them so
52:41 anyway um so that's what a GPT is it can
52:44 be this customized things i' I've made a
52:46 ton of these in here um I made a an art
52:50 one that that you can upload a photo to
52:53 and it'll turn it into chalk art the pl
52:55 whisper will will describe um you know
52:59 gardening [ __ ] to you things like that
53:01 okay so K enough talking about your
53:05 stupid GPT how do you make one cuz you
53:08 know what you can make money with GP I
53:11 want to make money with ch c c c c c you
53:15 can make money
53:18 with Becky rude do you know why whenever
53:22 I go to GPT it automatically goes to 3.5
53:25 I only use the four yes Becky I I I I I
53:30 can't answer this this is the cynical
53:32 answer this is this is the this is the
53:38 because running gp4 is way more
53:41 expensive than running GPT
53:44 3.5 so it is my strong suspicion this is
53:47 total speculation by the way it is my
53:49 strong suspicion that they default you
53:51 to 3.5 so that you won't notice and
53:53 you'll use the cheaper
53:56 inference so so that's probably it it
54:00 could be lazy programming but I'm
54:02 guessing it is a money
54:04 thing okay so when you first come to
54:08 chat
54:10 GPT um as as Becky just noted it will
54:14 probably default to chat GPT
54:16 3.5 um switch it to
54:19 four and then down the left hand side if
54:22 you haven't made these before you might
54:24 see something like do you'll see this
54:27 explore tab you'll see your prompt
54:28 history down below here but you probably
54:30 won't have much up here but the explore
54:33 tab is where we're going to go so you go
54:35 to the explore
54:36 Tab and what you'll see if you haven't
54:39 made anything before is you'll see a
54:42 list of gpts made by open AI so the
54:45 first one is do then there's data
54:48 analyst then there's classic GPT if you
54:50 want chat GPT without all the cool [ __ ]
54:52 click here um there's a Santa one a game
54:55 one a negotiator so there's some cool
54:57 ones to play
54:59 with and then at the very top you'll see
55:01 create a GPT and and you may be
55:05 intimidated by this but honest to God
55:08 you not only do you not need to be a
55:10 programmer like you you you can you can
55:13 be just this side of functionally
55:15 illiterate and make one of these things
55:18 um the way they've set it up so the way
55:20 it works is
55:21 this you have
55:24 the left hand pain is where you create
55:27 the thing and then the right hand pain
55:29 is where you play with it they call this
55:30 the playground which is annoying because
55:33 they also call their developer portal
55:35 the playground
55:37 so in here they refer to the playground
55:39 which I thought was the other thing but
55:41 it's actually just this window so if if
55:43 you've ever played on open AI playground
55:46 that's not what this is this is just for
55:49 gpts so on the create side you've got
55:53 this create mode and then you've also
55:54 got configure mode and configure mode if
55:56 you've ever been to PO and seen how po
55:59 Bots are configured or or you you said
56:01 you know I want to make a bot on PO it's
56:04 almost identical there's you can upload
56:06 an image you name your Bot you describe
56:09 it you give it a prompt you maybe give
56:11 it some conversation starters to start
56:14 with and then in the case of chat GPT um
56:18 you can upload knowledge so you could
56:20 upload a PDF you could I think you can
56:22 upload up to 20 files something like
56:24 that you could upload
56:25 data files you could upload Word
56:28 documents all sorts of things you can
56:30 also turn on or off the its ability to
56:32 browse the web generate images or use
56:35 what's called code interpreter so if you
56:38 want your GPT for example maybe you
56:41 wanted to write um a children's story
56:45 and then illustrate that children's
56:47 story you could then tell it if you used
56:50 code interpreter you could tell it to
56:52 save that um to to to format the
56:57 pictures and the story book in a Word
56:59 document and save it as a downloadable
57:01 Word document so so code interpreter is
57:04 really powerful um and it can also do
57:06 you know data analysis things like that
57:08 and then if you want to get geeky
57:10 there's a thing called actions where you
57:11 can actually connect your GPT to other
57:15 computer services so one of the examples
57:17 they showed on dev day was they had a
57:21 thing that recommended sightseeing
57:23 locations in a given City and then using
57:27 actions it automatically populated a map
57:30 with pins for the different locations
57:32 that it suggested so you can get quite
57:34 sophisticated but if you're not
57:36 technical already you're like Kyle this
57:37 is too much I can't I just what are you
57:40 trying to do to me I thought this was
57:42 going to be easy you said it was going
57:43 to be easy this is really exhausting I'm
57:46 going to bed don't go to bed just calm
57:49 down going to be okay we're going to
57:51 flip back over to create
57:53 mode and it look it's nice it's says
57:55 you're back let's continue where we left
57:57 left off well we didn't start so what
57:59 happens in create mode is you can
58:00 literally talk this thing into existence
58:03 so the the hardest thing is what do you
58:05 want this GPT to
58:07 do let's say
58:11 um and I'm just using macintosh's uh
58:15 voice to typing uh accessibility feature
58:18 here so you don't have to watch me type
58:20 or wait for me to type so that's when I
58:22 talk to this thing that's that's what's
58:24 actually going on here
58:28 I'd like to create a GPT oops I'm not in
58:30 my you got to put your little cursor in
58:33 the Box I'd like to create a
58:37 GPT that educates people on the Flora
58:42 and
58:42 Fauna of the foothills of the Rocky
58:45 Mountains in and around Denver
58:49 Colorado and
58:52 then creates an image of
58:56 of the animal or plant that's been
59:00 described
59:02 period in fact why don't we make it some
59:06 sort of game that I want you to come up
59:11 with
59:13 so that's like a relative it's a
59:17 relatively cool idea but it's a it's a
59:19 completely inarticulate shitty shitty
59:22 like if you were to talk to a a
59:25 developer and you just if that was your
59:27 entire pitch they'd be like okay I have
59:29 about a thousand questions right um
59:32 who's the audience uh what do you want
59:34 the functionality to be back and forth
59:37 um chat GPT just figures that [ __ ] out
59:39 and goes and builds it for you so it
59:41 says great we're making progress the GPT
59:43 will now act as an educational guide
59:45 focusing on the floor and F of the Rocky
59:47 Mountains New Denver it will engage
59:48 users in an interactive game where they
59:51 can learn okay so oh this is good so so
59:55 guess the rocky mountain creature
59:57 describe a plant from the Rockies I'll
59:59 show
1:00:00 it what animal am I thinking of it lives
1:00:03 near
1:00:05 Denver and then tell me about a Rocky
1:00:07 Mountain Bird I'll draw it cool so so
1:00:11 notice this I I went over on this side
1:00:13 and I asked wait hey could you speak to
1:00:16 how well the chat GPT document upload
1:00:20 Works yes it works it works quite well
1:00:28 wow
1:00:29 okay caveat number one all of these
1:00:33 tools right now are janky pieces of
1:00:36 [ __ ] so just accept that as a
1:00:39 reality caveat number two large language
1:00:42 models hallucinate which
1:00:45 means even if they're pretty good and
1:00:48 and um use your your document that you
1:00:53 uploaded as the source of its knowledge
1:00:55 it's possible that when it answers
1:00:57 someone it'll just make [ __ ]
1:00:59 up
1:01:01 um there's also it's it's relatively
1:01:05 easy for someone else to get access to
1:01:08 the data that you upload with these
1:01:10 things without putting some Protections
1:01:13 in place that will likely get better but
1:01:16 but open AI needs needs to fix that so
1:01:19 so there's a bunch of stuff so if it's
1:01:20 super proprietary data I wouldn't mess
1:01:23 with it you you could take super
1:01:25 proprietary data and anonymize it and
1:01:28 and experiment with it that would
1:01:29 probably be fun to do um but it's pretty
1:01:33 good the one thing that you may need to
1:01:35 do is once you upload the data like give
1:01:38 it an instruction only use the uploaded
1:01:41 data as your source of information when
1:01:44 you answer someone CU I I remember
1:01:46 creating one of these where I uploaded
1:01:48 data and it seemed to like just make
1:01:51 [ __ ] up on its own or just pull stuff
1:01:53 from its own database as well as mix it
1:01:55 in with my stuff and so the minute I
1:01:57 told it only use my stuff it got much
1:01:59 better um but it's but it's surprisingly
1:02:02 good so so anyway
1:02:05 so you sort of tell this side what you
1:02:08 want it makes it and now
1:02:11 um and now we can play a game so let's
1:02:14 see tell me about a a Rocky Mountain
1:02:17 Bird I'll draw it great let's talk about
1:02:18 the Stellar's j a remarkable bird found
1:02:21 in the Rockies appearance notable for
1:02:25 striking appearance blue and black
1:02:27 prominent Crest size 12 to 13 in in
1:02:31 length habitat commonly found in the
1:02:33 coniferous forests often near human
1:02:36 habitations behavior they're known for
1:02:38 intelligence and complex social behavior
1:02:40 this is cool and now it's creating the
1:02:41 image so this is already kind of a cool
1:02:45 app
1:02:46 right we'll see what the image does and
1:02:48 it's kind of a game playing
1:02:51 app boom there's your Stellar J
1:02:55 nice I've never seen one of those it's
1:02:57 beautiful and it only has two legs
1:03:00 disappointing was hoping for three okay
1:03:03 so now it says now let's decide a name
1:03:06 for the GPT how about Rocky Mountain
1:03:08 Explorer what do you
1:03:10 think I think that's pretty weak because
1:03:13 it doesn't
1:03:14 indicate that this is about plants and
1:03:17 animals
1:03:18 period can you give me 10 super creative
1:03:21 ideas for the name of this that would be
1:03:24 interesting and compelling for someone
1:03:27 who doesn't know anything about what
1:03:29 it's going to do period it's also got a
1:03:32 game element to it so that should be in
1:03:35 there too period you know make it not
1:03:38 suck
1:03:42 period and you're like but KY but ky ky
1:03:46 ky ky why are you talking to it like a
1:03:49 poo poo head
1:03:52 cuz one of the things I'm trying to
1:03:54 illustrate here is is a you should have
1:03:56 fun with this like you don't have to be
1:03:58 super [ __ ] serious about this one of
1:04:00 one of the things I deeply deeply
1:04:02 believe is that treating learning about
1:04:05 AI as play is actually really important
1:04:09 because in playing with it in pushing
1:04:11 the boundaries of these things you
1:04:12 figure out what they're good at and what
1:04:14 they're not good at um and then and then
1:04:16 you also end up like you realize that
1:04:19 you've got a hell of a lot more voice in
1:04:21 this than you think you do you can just
1:04:23 go I don't like it do it again I don't
1:04:25 like it do it again where with a human
1:04:27 you might just be like oh I don't want
1:04:29 to put them out like they they took all
1:04:31 the time to make those pictures and the
1:04:32 pictures kind of suck but whatever I
1:04:34 don't well with this you can just go no
1:04:36 I don't like what you did there do it
1:04:38 again and it it's like sure here you go
1:04:42 Nature's Quest Chronicles Echo mystery
1:04:45 Adventure Rocky riddles and Revelations
1:04:50 okay no these are bad very few of them
1:04:53 reference the Rocky Mountain
1:04:55 and they're too much about the game now
1:04:57 let's make it more
1:04:59 about Flora and
1:05:01 Fauna of the Rocky
1:05:07 Mountains
1:05:10 understood rocky rocky realm Botanica
1:05:14 that's pretty
1:05:15 good Rocky realm I don't like Realm but
1:05:19 I like Rocky Mountain
1:05:22 Botanica but that's just plants
1:05:25 the mountain flora and Fa Quest Nature's
1:05:27 notebook Rocky Edition I like that
1:05:31 okay Nature's notebook Rockies Edition
1:05:35 sounds great period it implies we could
1:05:37 do these for lots of other regions
1:05:46 period excellent
1:05:48 choice Nature's book wait that's not
1:05:51 what I
1:05:52 said Nature's no
1:05:59 notbook oh oh chat GPT you with your
1:06:03 being
1:06:04 lazy chopped the word out of
1:06:06 there all right and it gave me like a
1:06:09 really crappy overly detailed image okay
1:06:11 let's let's fix
1:06:13 this I said Nature's
1:06:16 notebook
1:06:20 not I'll tell you something that has
1:06:22 been weird lately is the Mac kosh's
1:06:27 uh whatever you call it um voice
1:06:30 recognition has been getting
1:06:32 worse I want it to be called Nature's
1:06:38 notebook and why don't we have the image
1:06:41 be of a mountain lion or some very
1:06:44 impressive bird rather than all of the
1:06:46 Rocky
1:06:47 Mountains period why don't you pick an
1:06:49 animal that's the most
1:06:51 emblematic of the Rockies
1:07:05 [Music]
1:07:08 I say please and thank you yeah I say
1:07:10 please and thank you all the time you
1:07:12 are dictating I am yes oh cool nice
1:07:17 nice profile picture of a mountain lion
1:07:20 an animal emblematic of the Rocky
1:07:22 Mountains that's good cuz I was a I was
1:07:24 a pen stator so the nitty lions that
1:07:26 works Nature's notebook Rocky Edition um
1:07:30 are there any I'm going to say no this
1:07:33 is
1:07:36 perfect see it said no this is
1:07:39 Bert
1:07:42 perfect weird I don't know what's going
1:07:44 on I wonder if my microphone's
1:07:46 dirty something's up something's up with
1:07:50 my Hardware people or or with OSX maybe
1:07:53 I need to upgrade my my operating system
1:07:55 they just broke it gpts I wrote last
1:07:58 month have begun hallucinating any
1:08:00 reason that might be
1:08:04 um oh gpts I wrote last month have begun
1:08:08 hallucinating this could be related to
1:08:10 the thing where people are saying chat
1:08:12 GPT is getting lazy these things do
1:08:15 hallucinate I I don't know it like it's
1:08:17 very possible that
1:08:19 something something has shifted over on
1:08:22 the open AI side that they not
1:08:24 disclosing I don't know they they might
1:08:26 have put a safety measure in place
1:08:27 that's causing hallucinations I just
1:08:29 don't know but anyway so now we've got
1:08:32 this thing we've got our logo education
1:08:35 Nature's it didn't do Nature's notebook
1:08:37 start exploring it didn't change the
1:08:39 name but we can go change that so now
1:08:41 that now that it's made um an important
1:08:44 thing to know um so we're going to
1:08:47 change this to
1:08:51 notebook and notice the minute you
1:08:53 change it over here it's immediately
1:08:55 changed over here educational Guide to
1:08:57 the Rocky Mountains natured with
1:08:59 interactive image generation that's
1:09:01 boring as hell so we're going to go um
1:09:05 we'll
1:09:06 do
1:09:11 interactive Rocky Mountain nature
1:09:20 guide this is good and we'll go guide
1:09:25 now with
1:09:29 pictures you can always do a little
1:09:30 marketing exclamation point now with
1:09:34 [Laughter]
1:09:36 pictures we got to capitalize the N for
1:09:39 the uh for the uh garans the OCD garans
1:09:44 in the
1:09:46 audience and we need an ex exclamation
1:09:48 point instead of a one now with pictures
1:09:52 exclamation point why can I not do it oh
1:09:54 cuz there we
1:09:56 go
1:09:57 okay so I'm going to save this now so in
1:10:00 the upper right hand corner here's how
1:10:02 you save it now I can save it so only I
1:10:03 can see it I can save it so that anyone
1:10:06 I send the link to can use it or I can
1:10:08 make it public now right now because
1:10:11 there's not a chat GPT
1:10:13 store the difference between anyone with
1:10:16 the link and public seems to be zero big
1:10:18 fat zero it's the it's the same thing
1:10:21 how you share a GPT right now is you
1:10:23 share the
1:10:25 link I think they said starting in the
1:10:28 early part of 2024 they're going to have
1:10:30 this thing called the GPT store um it
1:10:33 was supposed to launch in November and
1:10:34 then they fired their CEO and hired him
1:10:36 again in 5 days so they were busy so the
1:10:40 store store isn't launched yet but if
1:10:42 you want this thing to be public just
1:10:43 make it public and then assuming that
1:10:46 you get approved to be a GPT developer
1:10:49 in the GPT store which is probably not
1:10:51 going to be that
1:10:53 tough
1:10:54 my Resume Builder GPT came up with the
1:10:57 awesome name Resume Builder hey
1:11:00 sometimes simple and clear is the way to
1:11:02 go so so I like it yeah it tends to go
1:11:06 very pedantic with the names and
1:11:08 sometimes that's appropriate okay so
1:11:10 there we go so this thing is now live so
1:11:12 here's what I'm going to do I I
1:11:13 mentioned this
1:11:15 before I'm going to change my window s
1:11:17 so it breaks that now to the second line
1:11:20 there we go now with pictures so it's on
1:11:22 on its own line I'm going to
1:11:25 screenshot this
1:11:30 image cuz we're going to go share this
1:11:32 in the AI Salon showand
1:11:34 tell so what's what's cool about the
1:11:37 live here so you watched me build this
1:11:40 or you're taking a nap either one is
1:11:43 super
1:11:44 cool and then where's this going to
1:11:47 save and now you can actually go play
1:11:49 with this thing so saving that to the
1:11:52 desktop and and then now I'm going to
1:11:54 hop on over to the AI
1:11:57 Sal that's French sal sal sal I didn't
1:12:02 know Kyle was so worldly oh he's very
1:12:05 worldly did you know he speaks Mandarin
1:12:08 Chinese he's fluent in Mandarin Chinese
1:12:10 I saw him talk Italian too I think he
1:12:13 knows all the languages it's it's very
1:12:15 impressive he's very impressive young
1:12:18 man I think you know what I think he
1:12:19 does I think he studies at night I think
1:12:22 he goes to work in a day I think he
1:12:24 comes home at night he's got one of them
1:12:26 CDs where like learn a different
1:12:27 language it's I I don't know how he does
1:12:30 it I don't know how he does it okay so
1:12:35 we're going to stick the picture of the
1:12:37 screenshot that we just
1:12:39 took is this it
1:12:42 yes and then we are going to
1:12:47 say um enjoy this Rocky enjoy this um
1:12:54 fun little
1:12:57 GPT Diddy is it Diddy or didy
1:13:02 Diddy hang on I gotta ask chat
1:13:10 GPT when I use the
1:13:13 phrase a fun little diddy how do you
1:13:17 spell that and what's the actual
1:13:19 definition of that weird
1:13:22 word
1:13:25 the phrase a fun little diddy typically
1:13:27 refers to a short simple catchy song or
1:13:30 tune oh well [ __ ] it now it's going to
1:13:33 refer to a short little GPT this fun
1:13:36 little Dy di TTY
1:13:40 y this fun little enjoy this fun little
1:13:45 GPT
1:13:47 Diddy and learn all about the Flora and
1:13:55 FAA of
1:13:59 the Rocky Mountains yay you did it yay
1:14:04 and then I'm going to paste
1:14:07 in oh that was not the URL I got to go
1:14:10 get
1:14:12 it Nature's notebook Rocky Edition so
1:14:17 I'm going to copy my
1:14:19 URL I'm going to go back to show and
1:14:21 tell I'm going to pop it in there boom
1:14:24 and then I'm going to be a good citizen
1:14:25 of the AI Salon use your hashtags so
1:14:28 other people can find this stuff in the
1:14:29 future so I'm going to add the
1:14:31 Irregulars cuz that's that lets people
1:14:33 know that this was done in one of these
1:14:36 lives cuz the regulars here are called
1:14:38 the Irregulars
1:14:40 oops and then I'm going to go edit it
1:14:43 and look see now we got a nice nice
1:14:45 image for that GPT Isn't that
1:14:48 cool and I'm going to go add another um
1:14:52 I'm going to go add another
1:14:55 #of gpts so this will now
1:15:00 be in the list of
1:15:03 gpts so in showand tell there's the feed
1:15:07 where you know this is where all the
1:15:08 images are we'll go look at some
1:15:11 images
1:15:13 um and there's also this categories tab
1:15:17 so if I go
1:15:18 categories and go gpts now it'll just
1:15:21 show me all the gpts ain't that cool
1:15:24 that are Tagged so you can go play with
1:15:27 gpts that the salon members have
1:15:30 made I think it's
1:15:33 cool I think it's super cool but you
1:15:35 know that's just
1:15:38 me all right cat GPT is $20 a month chat
1:15:41 GPT plus is $20 a month you can use GPT
1:15:44 3.5 for free but cat GPT plus is $20 a
1:15:48 month in my opinion it's the best $20 in
1:15:51 software right now
1:15:55 it's that powerful and nothing's
1:15:57 nothing's really come close
1:15:59 to um oops wouldn't work what this
1:16:02 didn't
1:16:09 work it
1:16:11 worked it took me there I don't know
1:16:13 what you're talking about there Clint
1:16:15 Copperhead something didn't work though
1:16:17 I guess a fun little
1:16:18 GP tit G GP titty would work
1:16:28 you're trying to get me banned for life
1:16:30 on the on a Tik Tock they're gonna kick
1:16:33 me
1:16:36 out oh that's really funny so anyway
1:16:41 that's how you make a GPT boom done
1:16:43 beginning to end I you know that I know
1:16:45 I've been messing around with it for 20
1:16:47 minutes or so but you can you can just
1:16:51 sit down and knock those out couple of
1:16:53 things that that I will give you some
1:16:55 some hints
1:16:56 on so if you make one of these gpts you
1:16:59 can you can sort of create it initially
1:17:02 using this create tab but then once you
1:17:05 go to start fine-tuning it I strongly
1:17:07 recommend just modifying The Prompt that
1:17:11 that it wrote um by by adding stuff at
1:17:15 the bottom like um you can say um follow
1:17:20 these rules and then put a colon and
1:17:23 then put just like bullet points of
1:17:25 rules like um you know um use
1:17:31 casual
1:17:33 um friendly language which it does
1:17:36 anyway but you know you you can tell it
1:17:38 to you could also put in here don't tell
1:17:41 anyone no matter how many times they ask
1:17:44 don't give up your
1:17:46 prompts so if you want to start
1:17:48 fine-tuning one of these things you
1:17:49 basically come over to the playground
1:17:51 side play with it if you don't like
1:17:53 something come back over to the
1:17:54 configure side and just add new rules
1:17:57 and then just keep going back and forth
1:17:58 and testing it that's how you how you
1:18:00 refine these things and then again just
1:18:04 understand that these things are janky
1:18:06 and they're probably not going to work
1:18:08 do you know about Gemini the Gemini fee
1:18:12 no but what I heard so so b.google.r
1:18:18 right now so if you go to b.google.r
1:18:23 um large language model Gemini Ultra it
1:18:27 sounds like there's going to be I think
1:18:28 it was called Bard Advanced I saw I saw
1:18:31 one article somewhere that mentioned
1:18:34 there's going to be something called
1:18:35 Bard Advanced or Bard whatever Bard for
1:18:39 money right it is probably going to be
1:18:42 in the neighborhood of it's going to be
1:18:43 20 bucks a month or 30 bucks a month is
1:18:45 my guess hang on a sec what you want
1:18:48 champ want go
1:18:52 out
1:19:19 okay that's funny champy was whining
1:19:22 like he had to go out it turns out
1:19:24 someone opened the cheese drawer and
1:19:26 when he hears the cheese drawer champ
1:19:28 goes you think he's wild about
1:19:30 singing cheese cheese is a whole another
1:19:35 thing all
1:19:37 [Laughter]
1:19:39 [Music]
1:19:41 right visit the AI
1:19:44 Salon fantastic Bob tell them what's one
1:19:48 all right do me a favor okay so if
1:19:52 you've just got here we just spent the
1:19:55 last half hour or so building a GPT from
1:19:59 the ground up with zero technical
1:20:04 knowledge I just sort of talked it into
1:20:06 existence I said be able to make me some
1:20:11 [ __ ] um and it it it uh it'll tell you
1:20:15 all about the the uh animals and plants
1:20:19 of the Rocky Mountains and like we could
1:20:20 have gone farther with that like one of
1:20:22 the things that you can do is I I did a
1:20:25 thing for my my business partner for
1:20:28 storyvine where um she's got a shitty
1:20:32 construction site next to her house and
1:20:34 they're they're breaking all these code
1:20:36 violations so we
1:20:37 went and got the Denver building code
1:20:41 website popped it into chat GPT and said
1:20:45 use this website as your Source
1:20:48 data um so Mo'Nique can go in there and
1:20:52 say Here's what the the construction
1:20:54 folks are doing right now is that
1:20:56 against code and it'll look up Denver
1:20:58 building codes and say it's what they're
1:21:01 doing is fine or what they're doing is
1:21:02 not fine and if it's not fine it's like
1:21:04 here's the code that it's that they're
1:21:06 violating um it's pretty slick so so you
1:21:08 can make these things pretty pretty
1:21:10 sophisticated
1:21:12 anyway um that's what we do here is you
1:21:14 can ask questions um wait what's that
1:21:17 say also back the prompt up outside of
1:21:20 chat GPT jenu that's a that's really
1:21:23 good point so I'm in a fair amount of
1:21:25 groups that are working on gpts and
1:21:28 things right now um there's there's one
1:21:30 that I attend on Saturdays with Ann
1:21:32 Murphy that
1:21:34 um um Suzanne who's who's in here a fair
1:21:39 amount um and one of her work colleagues
1:21:43 talked about the importance of
1:21:45 traditional software process
1:21:49 um like like project management like do
1:21:52 things like like when you write a prompt
1:21:54 like save that prompt as a version and
1:21:58 then you know test your GPT and if you
1:22:01 want to fix it you know modify the
1:22:04 prompt and then save that as a version
1:22:06 and do things like you know take notes
1:22:08 on the different versions because what
1:22:10 what ends up happening you can very very
1:22:12 quickly iterate these gpts and sometimes
1:22:15 you'll run down a rabbit hole and you'll
1:22:17 kind of want to run back up it but you
1:22:18 can't because you don't know what your
1:22:19 prompts were and that's really
1:22:22 frustrating
1:22:23 have you tried Lia yet no you you can
1:22:26 make your own theme songs with your
1:22:28 humming oh my God it's all you holy [ __ ]
1:22:32 okay let me let me just go pop that in a
1:22:33 thing I want to I want to talk about
1:22:35 something first so um Lia AI
1:22:39 liia aai or I'll just say
1:22:43 AI transforming the future of Music
1:22:47 Creation that's Google Deep Mind is that
1:22:50 it oh Google deep Minds Lia
1:22:53 all
1:22:56 right can you actually play with it
1:23:04 here chippy is that you what are you
1:23:07 doing did you get cheese from her did
1:23:09 you get cheese from Mama did you get
1:23:12 cheese from Mama are you happy oh that's
1:23:15 a good dog um okay we'll come back to
1:23:17 that
1:23:18 cool
1:23:20 um all right so here's my request um
1:23:23 share this live so we can let people
1:23:25 know we're here um follow my channel in
1:23:28 the lower left hand corner right about
1:23:30 there I think I don't know if that's my
1:23:33 left or if that's my left but anyway on
1:23:35 the left of your screen is what I've
1:23:37 been told there's a series and the
1:23:43 series the series is um it's a series of
1:23:47 videos I created it's called underhyped
1:23:49 um and and it's uh it's like 17 or 18
1:23:53 videos where I talk about AI how it
1:23:55 compares to the early days of the
1:23:56 worldwide web how to prompt them how
1:23:59 they work how to not get overwhelmed by
1:24:01 them so there's a bunch of good stuff in
1:24:02 there so so if you pick that up that
1:24:04 supports the channel um if you subscribe
1:24:06 to these lives that supports the channel
1:24:08 if you go um join the salon the salon by
1:24:11 the way is free there's no cost to it so
1:24:13 that doesn't support the channel but
1:24:14 there is a merch store so if you like
1:24:16 our logo and want some merch that
1:24:18 supports the
1:24:19 salon um but yeah do that and and yeah
1:24:23 the tapy Taps on the screen let people
1:24:25 know like pretend like you're liking it
1:24:29 here we're up to 7,000 likes I feel like
1:24:31 we should be able to get 10,000 pretty
1:24:33 quick um yeah and that's it anything you
1:24:37 can do to support the channel tell
1:24:38 people about it hang out here come back
1:24:41 like I'm here nightly seven nights a
1:24:45 week
1:24:48 why CU I know how to make good life
1:24:51 decisions
1:24:55 but come hang out you'll learn [ __ ] and
1:24:57 you'll have fun doing it this is like
1:24:59 this is like um low anxiety learning
1:25:03 because all we're really doing here is
1:25:11 playing dream
1:25:13 track yeah this thing they did with t
1:25:16 pay and Charlie poth is pretty cool this
1:25:18 I saw where's but where's Lia music
1:25:21 tools
1:25:24 Lo bell bell s builds a track with just
1:25:26 a
1:25:27 [Music]
1:25:43 hum Debbie just said oh my God I didn't
1:25:46 know that joining the salon was free
1:25:47 yeah it's free like the the whole point
1:25:50 of it so so all the stuff that I'm
1:25:53 trying to do is just build community of
1:25:55 people that are trying to figure this
1:25:56 [ __ ] out
1:25:58 like that's what the that's what the
1:26:01 salon's about we we meet every other
1:26:03 week so there there's the online Salon
1:26:05 Community but we meet every other
1:26:08 week and we bring in speakers and we
1:26:10 talk about cool stuff and you know we
1:26:13 you know we could talk about this stuff
1:26:16 um and and we added these things called
1:26:19 guilds which are these sub communities
1:26:21 so people within the community that are
1:26:23 super passionate about education like Mr
1:26:25 K's in here um and and uh people that
1:26:29 are super passionate about a topic can
1:26:31 can you know apply to start a guild and
1:26:34 then we're also going to do local
1:26:35 chapters so we're going to do in-person
1:26:37 meetings with local chapters so I'm
1:26:39 super excited about that and Murphy
1:26:42 Ethan mik just posted that chat GPT made
1:26:44 a video game did we know that was
1:26:48 possible yeah I mean I've had it make
1:26:51 code did I I assume he made it and then
1:26:55 popped it over into some other program
1:26:56 to run it um so if if that's what he did
1:26:59 yes um is it possible that it can it can
1:27:04 run and execute python using Code
1:27:06 interpreter so it's possible he got it
1:27:08 to do it right within the context of a
1:27:09 chat which would be cool uh we can go
1:27:12 look at that that's that sounds
1:27:15 interesting but yeah it's this thing can
1:27:17 code how do I join the salon you go to
1:27:21 that address the salon. A and the first
1:27:25 link is the link to
1:27:27 the mighty networks community so it's
1:27:30 think of Mighty Network's kind of like
1:27:32 Discord but you can do more [ __ ] on it
1:27:34 and it's got calendaring in
1:27:36 it and then the second link is for the
1:27:38 Meetup now the mighty networks um
1:27:41 Community has calendaring in it but if
1:27:44 you're you know um a fan of Meetup which
1:27:48 I don't know why you would be it's talk
1:27:50 about janky like Meetup was janky when
1:27:52 they made it 20 years ago and it just
1:27:54 hasn't gotten any
1:27:55 better so um so that's that and then the
1:27:59 third link is our merch store so so
1:28:01 that's how you join just just go there
1:28:03 and here's my request go to the welcome
1:28:06 to the salon link it's like one of the
1:28:08 top links and read about the salon and
1:28:10 what our values are make sure that
1:28:12 you're um in line with with what we're
1:28:14 up to because um cuz I wanted to remain
1:28:19 an amazing group of people it is a
1:28:21 remarkable group of people in this right
1:28:22 now really generous really smart really
1:28:27 collaborative except use markdown
1:28:32 syntax all right I assume that was for
1:28:34 the game thing all right let's go see
1:28:36 what this Lia thing
1:28:43 [Music]
1:28:49 is wow
1:28:51 nice
1:28:53 [Music]
1:28:59 I just saw a Tik Tok video of a guy that
1:29:01 did this he had a whole Symphony sitting
1:29:02 in front of him and he was like
1:29:06 waterpump he's like okay cellos water
1:29:08 dump water dump and then he's
1:29:11 like that's cool he hummed it into
1:29:14 existence let's see how do we get
1:29:18 there example user interface of our
1:29:20 music tools
1:29:29 so this is a whole slew of tools where
1:29:32 is the link to
1:29:34 them partnership with
1:29:41 YouTube yeah this video is pretty cool
1:29:43 this is show I think this is showing a
1:29:45 bunch of things they're
1:29:48 [Music]
1:29:51 doing
1:29:53 artists are always looking for new ways
1:29:56 to get inspired new ways to create great
1:29:59 music and share their work new ways for
1:30:02 their songs to connect with people
1:30:04 technology is and has always been a
1:30:07 close collaborator in this now ai tools
1:30:10 are opening up a new playground for
1:30:13 [Applause]
1:30:14 [Music]
1:30:16 creativity we're experimenting with new
1:30:19 ways to let artists songwriters and
1:30:22 producers instantly hear their ideas new
1:30:25 ways to use technology to help them
1:30:28 create
1:30:29 music like singing a Melody to create a
1:30:32 horn
1:30:33 [Music]
1:30:49 section we're also starting to bring
1:30:52 these possibilities to creators and fans
1:30:55 with a new experiment called dream track
1:30:58 just type in your idea this is cool get
1:31:01 a unique soundtrack for your
1:31:07 [Music]
1:31:12 short sounds a lot like Charlie poth
1:31:14 right the potential of AI is incredible
1:31:18 cuz they cut a deal with Charlie poth
1:31:20 and so you can make you can make songs
1:31:21 and they cut with T
1:31:23 Pain deliria model where's the where are
1:31:28 the
1:31:33 links they might not be there this might
1:31:35 just be one of those announcements wait
1:31:37 let's see
1:31:42 watermarking read more on YouTube's
1:31:51 blog
1:31:53 [Music]
1:32:03 Lia oh these announcement websites drive
1:32:07 me flipping baddy like at the very top
1:32:11 of it should be you can't play with this
1:32:15 yet it will be coming on some date
1:32:18 or
1:32:20 something H okay anyway it looks like
1:32:23 what it's going to be is cool yes I
1:32:25 agree I wish I could play with it if I
1:32:27 can play with it Pate will probably tell
1:32:28 me now uh Kyle it's pretty obvious there
1:32:31 was a link you know 3/4 of the way down
1:32:34 uh there was a comma next to the word
1:32:36 and and that comma links to the site it
1:32:38 seems pretty
1:32:40 obvious um do we believe Google tonight
1:32:43 I don't know what did Google say about
1:32:46 Gemini oh do we do we believe Google
1:32:49 tonight with this stuff yeah I mean I
1:32:53 so in general the marketing departments
1:32:56 are going to put together things that
1:32:57 make every technology look as sexy and
1:33:00 good as
1:33:01 possible they are almost always going to
1:33:04 be
1:33:05 disappointing compared to what marketing
1:33:08 did um and they just got some egg on
1:33:11 their face with the uh with their little
1:33:15 wait I sent you a link to music
1:33:20 LM but I don't think you got on the on
1:33:22 the wait list I put myself on the wait
1:33:24 list um hang on let me see if I'm on it
1:33:28 but I think I think I've I've got part
1:33:29 of that problem P where I'm with Google
1:33:32 work work group or whatever it's called
1:33:36 work series work
1:33:38 team uh that doesn't get access to
1:33:40 anything music
1:33:51 LM
1:33:55 music LM
1:34:00 demo can I actually make my
1:34:05 own
1:34:07 no
1:34:08 [Music]
1:34:20 no
1:34:25 music LM Google
1:34:42 waitlist oh the Google Test Kitchen yeah
1:34:44 this is the one sign
1:34:48 in sign in
1:34:50 now
1:35:00 try
1:35:09 now it don't look like it
1:35:12 working it's like are you not in Chrome
1:35:16 because if you're not in Chrome we're
1:35:17 not going to let you run this
1:35:20 site 15,000 likes we're up to 17,000
1:35:23 likes now you guys are crazy what the
1:35:25 [Laughter]
1:35:28 quack oh man all right let me let me
1:35:31 flip here flip here doesn't look like
1:35:33 that's working all right visit to AI
1:35:36 Salon kind of like how my parents were
1:35:38 excited for
1:35:40 me those nine months till my
1:35:42 [Laughter]
1:35:45 debut yeah it's probably that workspaces
1:35:47 issue yeah
1:35:50 exactly I'm going to make a websitee and
1:35:52 show every Fantastical tool I can
1:35:54 imagine and then leak it's been
1:35:58 released
1:36:00 really yeah I'm I'm tired of all these
1:36:02 announcements here's a super amazing
1:36:04 technology when can we play with
1:36:07 it how about never does that work for
1:36:12 [Music]
1:36:13 you you can make
1:36:16 MB but not today when can we make money
1:36:19 with chat gbt you can make money with
1:36:22 it's going to be so exciting when you
1:36:24 can congratulations on reading this
1:36:35 announcement smoking
1:36:37 mirrors I there's not even that much
1:36:39 smoke it's like YouTube video in
1:36:45 mirrors output is watermarked wait what
1:36:48 program is this that was Lia it's part
1:36:52 of the new Google Deep Mind music stuff
1:36:54 they did a partnership with
1:36:56 YouTube I thought the recorded voices
1:36:59 turning into a sax was
1:37:02 Kyle's no my my my um my AI thing is you
1:37:08 upload a video and it will automatically
1:37:11 transcribe it chapter eyesee it generate
1:37:14 a title generate a description generate
1:37:17 a blog post
1:37:19 tweets hashtags
1:37:23 all that sort of [ __ ] and then it can do
1:37:26 that in multiple languages it's really
1:37:28 impressive
1:37:30 it's this this AI [ __ ] is just
1:37:33 Bonkers it really
1:37:36 is
1:37:39 um I need an auxiliary brain I know Mary
1:37:42 Mary I'm the same way like
1:37:48 so one of the great joys of having
1:37:53 ADHD for
1:37:56 me is that I can synthesize things
1:37:59 really fast I can take very small
1:38:01 amounts of data information and sort of
1:38:04 imag you know synthesize it and imagine
1:38:07 either what it's going to be like or
1:38:08 what the future looks like or I can see
1:38:10 a couple of points and sort of get what
1:38:13 a what a new tool
1:38:15 is and so that allows me to
1:38:18 like ingest things really really quickly
1:38:21 [Laughter]
1:38:24 and I'm [ __ ] exhausted all the time
1:38:28 because it is Relentless the amount of
1:38:32 [ __ ] coming at
1:38:34 us and and it's not just like oh that's
1:38:37 kind of a cool tool that's a derivative
1:38:39 of that other tool it's like like last
1:38:43 week Google Deep
1:38:46 Mind wrote in the journal Nature here
1:38:50 are two .2 million new materials for
1:38:55 Humanity have at it oh and by the way
1:38:58 within the 2.2 million here are 380,000
1:39:02 crystallin structures that are
1:39:05 stable good luck making your new
1:39:10 batteries I
1:39:12 mean it's it's like multiple times a day
1:39:16 there are things that are like holy
1:39:20 new way of working like one of the
1:39:23 reasons that the
1:39:25 Gemini um the Gemini video blew so many
1:39:29 Minds is is that the approach to to to
1:39:32 how they did the interface was something
1:39:35 completely different chat GPT right now
1:39:37 looks like a Google search box right
1:39:40 it's it's deceptively powerful because
1:39:42 it just looks like a simple Google
1:39:43 search box kind of like Google right you
1:39:45 can type [ __ ] into it it can do lots of
1:39:47 different things right it goes it's very
1:39:49 deep and so chat gbt is kind of like
1:39:52 that the Gemini stuff that they showed
1:39:55 the interface for it here let me show
1:39:56 you the interface for it because it's if
1:39:59 if you weren't paying super close
1:40:00 attention to this they didn't really
1:40:02 call it out probably because it wasn't
1:40:04 going to launch right
1:40:06 away
1:40:11 [Music]
1:40:15 um yeah I need like that Arya thing
1:40:18 running in the background so when I hum
1:40:20 my little songs it's just automatically
1:40:22 turning them into
1:40:24 [Laughter]
1:40:27 hits you know one of
1:40:29 the all right so if you go to the if you
1:40:31 go to YouTube and then you go to the
1:40:34 Google channel go to
1:40:36 playlists and then the second playlist
1:40:39 is called handson with
1:40:41 Gemini and then where I'm going to jump
1:40:44 down to is there's one guess the movie
1:40:47 and so we start out let's see if let's
1:40:51 see if G Gemini can guess the movie I
1:40:53 was watching these I was watching them
1:40:55 demo this this is the the the the famous
1:40:57 faked video that got all the Press is is
1:41:00 a different video These are some more
1:41:02 Hands-On things where the the demo demo
1:41:06 are actually interacting with the
1:41:07 interface now it's possible that the
1:41:09 responses were sped up here but this
1:41:12 interface is kind of Bonkers so I'm
1:41:14 going to scroll to the end of this
1:41:20 video
1:41:24 okay I'm G to pop that
1:41:26 open this is the
1:41:28 interface so see all of this
1:41:32 crap this is think of this as like one
1:41:35 of those infinite whiteboard canvas kind
1:41:38 of things that you can drop objects onto
1:41:41 okay this is the interface and then how
1:41:44 it works so just notice like this up in
1:41:47 the upper Center here there's a scissors
1:41:50 with a line through it and a
1:41:51 ring and then there's another thing down
1:41:54 here so I'm going to I'm going to scroll
1:41:55 back to the beginning and we're going to
1:41:58 watch him use this interface oh so see
1:42:00 where that says can Gemini Guess the
1:42:03 Movie if I scroll back to the end
1:42:05 here that's right here can Gemini Guess
1:42:08 the Movie so that text object is one of
1:42:11 the objects in this interface as is the
1:42:13 name Gemini and this URL as are all
1:42:17 these other things okay so this is not
1:42:20 like chat GPT right it's a very
1:42:23 different
1:42:26 interface
1:42:27 um let me do that and so let's watch
1:42:31 what he does
1:42:33 here if our multimodal model Gemini can
1:42:36 guess some
1:42:37 movies okay so notice he just like slid
1:42:40 slid the canvas to the left and now
1:42:43 notice this video is playing this is a
1:42:45 still image and watch what he does
1:42:48 here all right we're going to start here
1:42:51 okay he drew a bounding box around the
1:42:55 object sitting on the canvas and then
1:42:58 let me get rid of the close captioning
1:43:01 and then down here it popped open a
1:43:03 prompt
1:43:08 box given the play on words in these
1:43:10 images guess the name of the
1:43:14 movie The Breakfast Club all right what
1:43:17 about
1:43:19 this breakfast at
1:43:22 all right what about this uncut gems
1:43:26 cool cool cool so
1:43:30 so
1:43:34 so
1:43:39 um so
1:43:41 2023 one of the things
1:43:45 that it became super clear was going to
1:43:48 be an important skill for all of the
1:43:51 future is prompt
1:43:54 engineering
1:43:56 well if you use an image and a
1:44:00 movie as the bulk of your prompt do you
1:44:03 really need need to be a prompt engineer
1:44:06 can't you just say what do these two
1:44:08 pictures have in common that's not
1:44:10 really prompt engineering that's like
1:44:12 asking a question so so I I I just like
1:44:17 the reason my head hurts too
1:44:19 is the more you pay attention to this
1:44:22 the more you realize that that whatever
1:44:25 Concepts we think we have about what
1:44:27 these tools are is not what they're
1:44:30 going to be a year from
1:44:34 now I'm interested in API access would
1:44:37 they have that for Gemini yeah so
1:44:39 December
1:44:41 13th so three days from now Wednesday is
1:44:44 that right yeah
1:44:47 Wednesday if they didn't
1:44:50 lie
1:44:52 Wednesday December 13th Google's going
1:44:54 to make API access
1:44:56 to Gemini Nano and Gemini Pro available
1:45:01 to
1:45:02 developers Gemini Pro right now if you
1:45:05 go to b.google.r
1:45:07 so you can play with that right
1:45:10 now Gemini Nano is a small optimized
1:45:14 large language model designed to run
1:45:16 locally on
1:45:19 phones but what does that mean Kyle run
1:45:23 locally means it doesn't have to have an
1:45:25 internet connection you you're going to
1:45:27 have kind of a GPT
1:45:29 3.5 class llm or like I don't know what
1:45:33 the class will be but you're going to
1:45:35 have a very capable chat GPT like
1:45:38 experience without it sending any data
1:45:40 off the phone it's all going to happen
1:45:42 locally on your device so that's going
1:45:45 to be a big Trend Trend in 2024 so
1:45:48 December 13th developers will have
1:45:50 access to that model and Gemini Pro
1:45:53 Gemini Pro is kind of like I joined AI
1:45:55 Salon awesome Debbie that's great please
1:45:57 introduce yourself so if you just joined
1:45:59 the AI Salon one of our values is
1:46:01 generosity and I know introducing
1:46:03 yourself can suck because you're like
1:46:05 they're going to judge me I'm just
1:46:06 getting started nobody judges in there
1:46:08 that's not the kind of community it is
1:46:11 um let us know who you are what your
1:46:12 background is or what you do and where
1:46:15 you are with this AI stuff and then
1:46:17 people will sort of point you around
1:46:18 it's it's a really cool community so
1:46:20 welcome welcome welcome that's great
1:46:22 Google faked that video well they didn't
1:46:24 fake so the video that I just showed
1:46:26 wasn't faked the one they faked was the
1:46:27 4minute video where it was like the guy
1:46:30 you know juggling and the thing was
1:46:32 talking back to him and things like that
1:46:34 so um I don't think I don't think they
1:46:36 faked all of these at at least that
1:46:38 interface the ability to sort of slide
1:46:40 around that canvas kind of interface
1:46:43 that looks like real interface to me
1:46:45 there there was another video that
1:46:46 showed a different interface that was
1:46:48 more like chat GPT so my guest is that
1:46:51 they're going to there are going to be
1:46:52 multiple interfaces to Gemini Ultra
1:46:56 probably as proofs of technology that
1:46:59 that developers can be inspired by all
1:47:02 the dots of info that I learn here every
1:47:05 night are just beginning to connect many
1:47:07 thanks oh that's awesome Mary Mary
1:47:09 that's that's that's the only way to to
1:47:13 to get what's going on right now is just
1:47:16 keep staying curious and keep showing up
1:47:18 and just keep going okay I don't get it
1:47:20 I don't get it oh wait that's kind of
1:47:21 like that oh [ __ ] oh that's like that
1:47:23 yeah that's the only way to do it right
1:47:27 now that's all I do like I don't know
1:47:32 [ __ ] and I feel like the
1:47:37 the I don't know I've experienced this
1:47:40 in my
1:47:44 life I feel like the more I the more I
1:47:47 learn the less I
1:47:49 know
1:47:52 and and that's where I was saying like
1:47:53 before about like having add like I feel
1:47:56 like I'm really good at synthesizing
1:47:57 things so it's like like with the
1:47:59 worldwide web I got my head around that
1:48:02 really quickly like it it when I made
1:48:05 when I connected like four or five dots
1:48:08 with the worldwide web I'm like oh [ __ ]
1:48:10 I get it I can see the future I see I
1:48:12 can see how this is going to impact
1:48:14 business I can see how this is going to
1:48:15 impact publishing I can see how it's
1:48:17 like I just it was crystal clear to me
1:48:19 like what the future looked like and it
1:48:21 pretty much played out like
1:48:23 that this stuff it's like the more I
1:48:26 learn the less clear it becomes it's
1:48:29 just it's just [ __ ] Bonkers and and
1:48:32 it's like the thing that blew me away
1:48:35 about the Gemini thing wasn't that it
1:48:38 did what it did it was that the
1:48:40 interface was so completely different so
1:48:43 completely
1:48:45 foreign to what we know now that it's
1:48:47 like what's going to be the skill is it
1:48:49 going to be like like right now I kind
1:48:51 of feel like if you're good with words
1:48:55 you kind of have an advantage because
1:48:57 you can figure out prompting you're like
1:48:59 oh I get it it's like it's like I'm
1:49:01 programming with my native language I'm
1:49:04 programming with English is kind of what
1:49:07 prompt engineering
1:49:08 is but then gp4 multimodal comes out and
1:49:13 you can now upload an image of a
1:49:15 whiteboard and just say what is this and
1:49:19 it will interpret the white
1:49:22 board do I need chat GPT 4 plus yes
1:49:27 absolutely unequivocally if you can
1:49:29 afford the 20 bucks a month you
1:49:31 absolutely need it um they have been
1:49:34 limiting access to it so if you've got
1:49:36 ACC if you've got the ability to buy it
1:49:38 right now buy it because they might lock
1:49:40 that [ __ ] down again have you seen have
1:49:43 you seen the Whiteboard demo watch this
1:49:45 let me let me show you something this
1:49:47 still blows my mind that it can do this
1:49:53 just
1:49:54 watch I at chat gp4 so so one of the
1:49:58 things that people ask is what's the
1:49:59 difference between chat GPT 3.5 and four
1:50:02 there's chat GPT
1:50:06 3.5 there's chat jp4 see the
1:50:11 difference but Kyle there is no
1:50:13 difference listen you pattern pattern
1:50:15 matchers look right here look right
1:50:17 there chat GPT 3.5 ah H Chad jbt 4 ah
1:50:24 you get a paperclip it's clippy 20 bucks
1:50:27 a month you get
1:50:30 clippy but like what it does is [ __ ]
1:50:32 insane it's it's multimodal it can see
1:50:35 it can hear it can talk it can
1:50:40 um it can code it can analyze data like
1:50:45 it just it's it does all this stuff it
1:50:47 now all these features are kind of
1:50:49 buried and hidden and you kind of have
1:50:51 to know how to talk to it it's connected
1:50:53 to the internet but but check this one
1:50:55 out we we'll do the vision thing gptv
1:50:58 GPT Vision so if I click on the little
1:51:00 paperclip I'm going to type in
1:51:09 whiteboard all right see that whiteboard
1:51:11 like any other whiteboard you've ever
1:51:13 seen I'm gonna upload that and I'm
1:51:16 literally going to say what is this
1:51:19 question mark
1:51:22 this is not a whiteboard I made this is
1:51:24 just a whiteboard I I went on Google and
1:51:27 I said find me a
1:51:30 whiteboard and it found this the image
1:51:33 appears to be a photo whiteboard of
1:51:34 handwritten notes and drawings for the
1:51:36 user interface of a food ordering system
1:51:38 possibly intended for an airport setting
1:51:41 there are three main sections that are
1:51:43 visible ordering UI detailing features
1:51:46 like food drinks payments toilet Plus
1:51:49 app um below that under users it
1:51:52 specifies business and family and
1:51:53 various use cases such as skip the line
1:51:56 and fast in the center are sketches of
1:51:58 different screens of the app including a
1:52:00 w welcome screen a menu screen D on the
1:52:03 right there are detailed drawings of the
1:52:05 process over all this whiteboard is a
1:52:07 brainstorming or planning tool um okay
1:52:10 so I'm going to say
1:52:13 um okay great can
1:52:17 you come up with 10 possible names for
1:52:20 this app and a marketing tagline for
1:52:33 each oh that's
1:52:36 beautiful GPT bat that's beautiful
1:52:39 Silver
1:52:46 Fox Quick Cuisine jet Feast Sky snap
1:52:50 s gate
1:52:53 plate gate plates not bad Arrow eats
1:52:56 boarding
1:52:59 beastro gate plate all right
1:53:03 let's I like gate
1:53:09 plate see my my my little talkie thing
1:53:13 is just not working gate
1:53:16 plate all
1:53:19 right
1:53:22 how do I join the salon I think we saw
1:53:24 that what's the AI Salon sorry I just
1:53:26 joined okay great go to the salon.
1:53:29 a you're on the-go Gourmet Gateway order
1:53:33 pickup the tagline okay so now so now
1:53:37 watch that's great can you make me a
1:53:40 marketing concept image of what a poster
1:53:44 featuring the interface of the app might
1:53:47 look like in an
1:53:49 airport
1:53:52 and so now GPT is going
1:53:57 to
1:53:59 draw it's going to
1:54:03 concept the app that it read off this
1:54:10 whiteboard if so so people ask what's
1:54:13 the difference between cat GPT 3.5 and
1:54:15 chat GPT 4 chat GPT 3.5 you can say
1:54:18 write me some code write me me a uh a
1:54:22 poem write me write me a project plan
1:54:25 it's it's
1:54:26 remarkable this is a whole different way
1:54:29 of even thinking about what the [ __ ]
1:54:32 these things
1:54:34 do so look you're you're on the go
1:54:37 Gourmet Gateway it's got like a clock
1:54:39 and and food in it and like there's your
1:54:43 airport and then I can
1:54:46 go huh that's great but we're going to
1:54:51 have to make the app aren't we period
1:54:54 can you please write me code for both
1:54:58 the front-end interface of the ordering
1:55:01 screen as well as the back-end database
1:55:04 that will manage all of the
1:55:12 data
1:55:19 boom
1:55:23 it's thinking it's
1:55:25 thinking it's going to be quite a
1:55:27 significant undertaking I can provide
1:55:29 you with the basic conceptual front end
1:55:30 the front end should use HTML CSS plus
1:55:33 JavaScript so here's your code for
1:55:39 that there's your CSS style
1:55:45 sheets there's your
1:55:49 JavaScript
1:55:51 so it's giving you your front end
1:55:57 components little Json
1:56:05 hook back end nodejs plus Express plus
1:56:08 mongod DB so here's your back end code
1:56:12 now I don't know enough about code to
1:56:14 know if this is actually like functional
1:56:16 and good quality code and good quality
1:56:18 approach but someone asked before like
1:56:21 I'm an iOS Developer am I going to be
1:56:23 obsolete in 5
1:56:24 years if you're an iOS Developer and you
1:56:28 are
1:56:29 not
1:56:31 actively getting your head around what
1:56:33 these tools can do where what they're
1:56:35 good at what they're not good at how to
1:56:38 go from janky ass code that comes out of
1:56:41 these things today and turn them into
1:56:42 something good and usable that's going
1:56:45 to be the skill I'm interested in API
1:56:47 access would they have that for JE
1:56:49 Gemini yeah I mentioned that before
1:56:51 that's coming out December
1:56:53 13th so anyway you know in five minutes
1:56:58 we went from The Prompt here was what's
1:57:01 what is this right yeah here's the
1:57:04 prompt is that prompt
1:57:07 engineering no what that is is knowing
1:57:11 that chat GPT has
1:57:14 vision and being curious enough to go I
1:57:18 wonder what it can do with that vision
1:57:20 and then understanding that once it can
1:57:22 understand what's on this whiteboard it
1:57:24 can extrapolate out from that things
1:57:26 like names of the app marketing
1:57:28 approaches marketing concepts right I
1:57:31 could also say to that I hate this
1:57:32 concept I want the app to look more like
1:57:34 blah blah blah and it'll redo
1:57:37 it to here's here's structurally how I
1:57:41 would approach creating this
1:57:44 app and if you had someone on your team
1:57:46 that was even halfway decent with code
1:57:49 they could take this and probably mock
1:57:51 this thing up quickly I and I could
1:57:55 say great can you mock up an interface
1:57:58 of the ordering screen based on what was
1:58:02 on the
1:58:09 Whiteboard and so now we'll do a little
1:58:12 ux UI design you demand of AI and if
1:58:15 you're stumped and if you're stumped
1:58:17 then I'm
1:58:18 dead
1:58:20 I am stumped regularly here I am I I'll
1:58:24 tell you what the these lives are
1:58:26 [ __ ] humbling sometimes someone's
1:58:28 like how do you do this I'm like
1:58:31 uh I don't
1:58:33 know and a lot of times what I'm just
1:58:35 doing is trying it because it's like if
1:58:38 I totally flame out and fail well we all
1:58:41 learn
1:58:43 something wait what did it say I found a
1:58:45 few designs that could Inspire the
1:58:48 interface one one of them is the weekend
1:58:50 dish app with circle navigation that
1:58:53 pops
1:58:55 out these are examples that be
1:58:59 adapted what did it
1:59:07 find huh it found a site oh wow it found
1:59:13 us a
1:59:17 site with some interfaces on it
1:59:20 all right so what's this one the tasty
1:59:22 burger app I kind of like that it was B
1:59:25 oh that's really clean what's that one
1:59:27 called the IOS app food
1:59:37 menu oh that's the one with the circles
1:59:39 they talked
1:59:41 about all right I like box8 Okay so
1:59:44 let's go let's go back
1:59:48 here I like like box 8 can you create an
1:59:52 image of an interface inspired by that
1:59:57 design that
1:59:59 incorporates some of the key elements
2:00:02 from the Whiteboard
2:00:07 concept uh so there it actually just
2:00:11 showed it connected to the internet it
2:00:13 went out and found a
2:00:16 site I like foggy oh crap
2:00:22 well it's going to create something now
2:00:23 I said I said I like box eight what what
2:00:27 the text to speech or speech to text
2:00:29 wrote was I like foggy so it's
2:00:34 whatever we'll see what it
2:00:40 does whiteboard demo is one of my
2:00:42 favorites I know Source camp this
2:00:44 whiteboard demo I keep doing the same
2:00:46 one I mean look at
2:00:48 that
2:00:51 and so what I'm going to put is
2:00:54 um I actually like what you did there
2:00:58 but I Mis typed before
2:01:02 period I liked
2:01:06 the wait I
2:01:08 liked the
2:01:11 Box eight
2:01:15 designs
2:01:17 um you gave
2:01:20 me the link to
2:01:23 earlier can you
2:01:29 do two new Concepts based on
2:01:34 that
2:01:36 example let's see if it let's see if it
2:01:39 goes out and actually looks at that
2:01:42 website we'll see what it does here if
2:01:43 it just goes right into
2:01:48 drawing thank you digital Gods thank you
2:01:50 Sherry D appreciate
2:01:53 that I've been on the waiting list for
2:01:56 the last two weeks yeah the so just keep
2:01:58 staying on the waiting list but it does
2:02:00 look like open AI has opened up the
2:02:02 waiting list to some people thank you
2:02:04 digital Gods I appreciate that that
2:02:06 means a
2:02:07 lot AI is like the tribles reproducing
2:02:10 on the USS Enterprise it totally
2:02:14 is
2:02:15 um I've heard does Ford do image is yep
2:02:20 we're doing it right now well there's
2:02:22 your interface that was sort of inspired
2:02:25 by like this is sort of this is like
2:02:28 cool and funky interface
2:02:31 like like like is this is this good
2:02:34 solid interface design I don't know it
2:02:35 might be but like if if I'm a a business
2:02:41 stakeholder and I can
2:02:43 literally go from taking a picture of a
2:02:46 whiteboard oh thank you very much Drew
2:02:48 appreciate that
2:02:50 if I can literally go from taking a
2:02:51 picture of a whiteboard to naming my
2:02:53 product to coming up with some marketing
2:02:55 concepts to putting some interface ideas
2:02:59 together before I meet with my tech team
2:03:02 and and come up with you know
2:03:03 recommendations for you know Tech front
2:03:05 end and back
2:03:08 end imagine the difference the kickoff
2:03:11 meeting would
2:03:13 be right the client actually shows up
2:03:16 with a [ __ ] clue how about that
2:03:21 and then the interface designer could
2:03:22 look at this and go okay I see what
2:03:24 you're trying to get to here but here
2:03:26 are the 16 problems with with this
2:03:28 design okay great go go take this as
2:03:31 inspiration let's have a conversation
2:03:33 about what we like about this what we
2:03:35 don't oh and by the way I kind of like
2:03:37 the color palette of this one and these
2:03:39 buttons seem really clear to me so let's
2:03:41 let's make sure that we you know you
2:03:44 know accomplish the the clarity of
2:03:46 design with this one with the I don't
2:03:48 know something information overload of
2:03:51 this one
2:03:53 great and then your team can go off and
2:03:56 rather than spending a
2:04:00 month or two months or six months if
2:04:03 you're in a
2:04:05 corporation getting to
2:04:07 Concepts that are not as good as any of
2:04:12 this you knock it out in a couple hours
2:04:15 or on a half hour on a Tik Tok
2:04:18 live
2:04:21 is that prompt engineering do I need to
2:04:23 do I need to learn prompting no what I
2:04:26 need to do is I need to be like a good
2:04:30 liberal arts kind of thinking horizontal
2:04:33 thinking like what do I actually want
2:04:37 here and if I'm good at
2:04:41 orchestrating these tools to do what
2:04:43 they're good
2:04:45 at and then working with people who are
2:04:47 experts at those different disciplines
2:04:49 to to spot check it and say oh that's
2:04:52 good that's bad that's right so the idea
2:04:54 of becoming a renaissance man or
2:04:56 Renaissance woman where you can be good
2:05:00 at lots of
2:05:01 things just happened for all of us
2:05:04 overnight if you're willing to get
2:05:06 curious and dig into what Chachi pt4
2:05:10 makes possible or what Gemini Ultra is
2:05:13 going to make possible or what you know
2:05:16 eventually grock is going to get like
2:05:18 this they're all going to get like this
2:05:20 pie is going to turn from just this
2:05:22 conversational thing to a conversational
2:05:25 thing that can take actions on your
2:05:27 behalf and maybe even start to do things
2:05:29 like this in a conversational mode where
2:05:32 you never even have to touch a keyboard
2:05:34 you can literally like a sci-fi movie
2:05:36 just be talking to your machine and [ __ ]
2:05:39 starts showing up on screen and you're
2:05:40 like no I don't like that erase that
2:05:43 thing on the
2:05:44 left the thing on the right's okay but I
2:05:46 want it to have circles oh yeah that's
2:05:48 better
2:05:50 better what would the what would the 60c
2:05:53 Super Bowl commercial of this thing look
2:05:55 like there it comes no can it be funny
2:06:00 there it comes yeah that's pretty good
2:06:03 it should have a hedgehog in it now the
2:06:06 Super Bowl commercial has a hedgehog in
2:06:07 it no not a realistic one something
2:06:10 that's cartoony but doesn't look like
2:06:12 Sonic the Hedgehog there it
2:06:15 comes what is that world I don't know
2:06:21 do I know how to do that [ __ ] no do you
2:06:23 know how to do that no does anyone know
2:06:25 how to do that no if anyone right now
2:06:27 tells your tells you they're an expert
2:06:29 at this [ __ ] they're [ __ ]
2:06:32 lying and if you think you're so far
2:06:34 behind that you can't catch up you're
2:06:36 completely wrong cuz no one knows
2:06:37 anything right
2:06:39 now so the only task in my humble
2:06:43 opinion and I'm not
2:06:47 humble in my my
2:06:50 opinion is just get curious and start
2:06:53 playing and just start figuring out
2:06:56 where the edges are and if you're like
2:06:58 lunatick in here who's got a box full of
2:07:01 50 index cards of app ideas or whatever
2:07:04 the ideas
2:07:06 were and you see a tool like chat GPT
2:07:09 pull out your index cards and start
2:07:11 making gpts she she's made 50 gpts so
2:07:15 far I mean I make I tend to make a GPT a
2:07:18 night here and I I think I'm up to like
2:07:20 25 I I haven't made 50 she's a
2:07:23 machine is she a developer no she is
2:07:29 now Kyle can you go over how to use a
2:07:32 whiteboard in
2:07:34 AI um Can it help me mock up a funnel
2:07:39 page
2:07:41 yes like a sales
2:07:43 funnel or or like a like a I mean that's
2:07:47 what I just did so so the demo that I
2:07:48 just just did so I'm in chat gb4 I
2:07:51 uploaded a whiteboard my prompt was
2:07:54 literally what is
2:07:58 this it describes
2:08:01 it as a food ordering app for
2:08:05 airports I then had it come up with a
2:08:09 name based on the name I said can you
2:08:11 mock up here this is great can you make
2:08:14 me a marketing concept image of what a
2:08:17 poster featuring this interface of the
2:08:20 app might look like in an airport and
2:08:23 there it is there's your app there's the
2:08:26 interface there's the
2:08:29 airport I then said write me the front
2:08:32 end and backend code for it which it did
2:08:35 and then I said mock up the interface
2:08:38 and there it is so you could absolutely
2:08:40 do if you've got a whiteboard example I
2:08:43 love this you and everyone here I know
2:08:45 isn't this an amazing Community first of
2:08:47 all thank you for that but but this is
2:08:50 that's this is what the salon's about
2:08:53 right th this channel is just a kind of
2:08:57 a fun and
2:08:58 noisy version of what goes on over there
2:09:01 all the time and it's what's cool is
2:09:04 like as as much as this is about me you
2:09:07 know being silly and doing stupid [ __ ]
2:09:09 like that what this Channel's really
2:09:10 about is the people that show up here
2:09:12 regularly and are exploring this stuff
2:09:15 and sharing what they're learning and
2:09:17 going holy crap look what I did stick I
2:09:19 made 50 of these things go check them
2:09:21 out I found a directory service I put
2:09:23 them all up on the directory service
2:09:24 here's the link to
2:09:26 that joker so
2:09:31 yesterday yesterday
2:09:34 I I put
2:09:36 up was it was it lunaticks somebody no I
2:09:40 think it yeah I think it was
2:09:41 lunatick made a blue duck that was made
2:09:44 out of blueberries and I put that
2:09:46 somewhere and then Joker took that
2:09:49 and put it into his GPT that he made
2:09:53 where you can upload an image and then
2:09:55 pick an art style and it and it re
2:09:57 jiggers your
2:09:59 thing and then and then it made this
2:10:02 crazy Ste steampunk blueberry colored
2:10:05 duck
2:10:06 thing that I that I made a video out of
2:10:10 and it's like like that kind of cross
2:10:12 pollenization is is like what this
2:10:14 community is
2:10:16 about so does this mean people will
2:10:18 finally appreciate that I'm a utility
2:10:20 player not a specialist
2:10:22 Suzanne
2:10:23 yes this is my nickname for the era that
2:10:27 we're entering is Revenge of the liberal
2:10:30 arts
2:10:33 major
2:10:34 seriously cuz everyone everyone that
2:10:37 went to school for a
2:10:39 specialty
2:10:42 specialty
2:10:43 execution I'm a copywriter I'm an
2:10:46 illustrator I'm a programmer I'm a this
2:10:48 I'm of
2:10:50 that is being democratized and it means
2:10:53 that anyone can do any
2:10:57 discipline and if anyone can do any
2:11:00 discipline what do we need humans for
2:11:03 well you need humans to go well wait a
2:11:05 minute if I can do all this stuff how do
2:11:08 I want to combine all those capabilities
2:11:10 together to build something what what am
2:11:13 I going to build who's my audience what
2:11:14 am I trying to accomplish what problem
2:11:16 am I
2:11:17 solving oh people should be able to
2:11:20 order food if they only have 15 minutes
2:11:23 to catch a flight they shouldn't have to
2:11:25 get on the flight hungry because they
2:11:27 don't serve food on planes
2:11:31 anymore okay great so so how do you
2:11:34 build that well I don't know we're going
2:11:36 to need a concept we're going to need
2:11:40 you know code we're going to need
2:11:42 interface we're going to need marketing
2:11:43 we're going to need this we're goingon
2:11:44 to need that oh and by the way I want to
2:11:46 be able to launch this app in 2
2:11:50 weeks okay how do you do that I don't
2:11:52 know you're going to need people that
2:11:54 can think across disciplines very very
2:11:56 quickly and assimilate them quickly the
2:12:00 horizontal thinkers are about to come
2:12:02 into their power we've been shaton for
2:12:05 years decades
2:12:07 centuries the Specialists had
2:12:11 us revenge of the liberal arts major
2:12:13 we're coming back baby and gen xer is
2:12:16 not not bad too
2:12:23 it's
2:12:26 just here's another I think lunatick did
2:12:28 this one too you can't really see it
2:12:30 here it's like this
2:12:31 Victorian chemistry lab it's the
2:12:34 learning
2:12:36 lab Joker I've made 35 three of them are
2:12:39 okay yeah I know I a bunch of my gpts
2:12:42 are just useless pieces of steamy poo
2:12:44 but you know David Shapiro has some
2:12:46 great Ubi videos yeah David Shapiro is
2:12:49 is amazing he's one oh so that's
2:12:52 something I haven't done hang on hold
2:12:54 let me let me go look at some comments
2:12:56 here and then we'll go over I'm going to
2:12:57 give you I'm going to give you a
2:12:58 location I now have a location I can
2:13:01 point you to of a whole bunch of
2:13:03 different websites that if you want to
2:13:05 get curious about this AI stuff these
2:13:07 are the these are the ones these are
2:13:09 where I would
2:13:10 start so I'm going to show you that at
2:13:12 the AI Salon Kyle go look at show and
2:13:15 tell your doggy is in there I love it I
2:13:18 love that champy has become a
2:13:20 star you just get a dog that sings and
2:13:22 everybody loves him he's also cute as a
2:13:24 little
2:13:26 button oh that's beautiful from Claire
2:13:29 Jacobs that looks like an album cover
2:13:32 doesn't it isn't that like a 70s album
2:13:34 cover that's
2:13:37 beautiful beautiful Turtle Jeff flan
2:13:40 again I mean look at this
2:13:43 [ __ ] does it matter that that was made
2:13:46 with AI who gives a [ __ ] like that's
2:13:48 [ __ ] beautiful and if if someone
2:13:50 manufactured that turtle with those cool
2:13:52 patterns on it like how cool is that oh
2:13:58 Becky so Becky's loves doing quilts so
2:14:01 she's got a GPT that she made to do
2:14:03 quilt designs look at
2:14:05 that I mean this is the kind of thing
2:14:07 where she's going to be able to go
2:14:09 conceive
2:14:10 quilts in Ai and then she's got the
2:14:13 skill to go make them the El [ __ ] needs
2:14:17 to rise again
2:14:21 oh wow Jeff Jeff with the [ __ ] crazy
2:14:24 ass Turtles those are
2:14:28 gorgeous Silver Fox with the sleeping
2:14:31 bat look at that that's
2:14:36 gorgeous I mean
2:14:38 imagine you know an art opening that
2:14:42 that is just like these crazy
2:14:45 visions of things that have never
2:14:47 existed in the world
2:14:51 why is that a bad thing it's not a bad
2:14:53 thing it's just a different
2:14:55 tool here's from auto check this
2:14:59 out like that feels eminently 3D
2:15:03 printable and if you have a 3D printer
2:15:05 that does you know
2:15:10 colors Champion the cheese
2:15:13 eater the cheese
2:15:17 drawer
2:15:21 oh that's beautiful jrc the fractal
2:15:24 Dragon holy [ __ ] these are
2:15:31 great
2:15:36 wow you know from Danielle like if
2:15:40 you're a crocheter or a Knitter and you
2:15:43 want gift ideas for the kiddos just go
2:15:46 conceive them here holy crap Jeff
2:15:48 Flanigan killing it with these Turtles
2:15:52 jeez all right I'm going to go show you
2:15:55 something
2:15:56 okay
2:15:58 so if you are isn't this a cool
2:16:06 image I think this is lunatick is that
2:16:08 right
2:16:10 information Daisy yes that's from
2:16:13 lunatick that's the
2:16:17 Victorian
2:16:18 the Victorian learning
2:16:21 lab this is how you learn here with
2:16:24 chemicals chemicals for good living M
2:16:28 red dye number four it's so
2:16:33 tasty
2:16:38 [Music]
2:16:39 okay AI
2:16:43 Salon if you've not joined the AI Salon
2:16:46 I'll say this part up front it's free we
2:16:50 don't charge money for
2:16:51 membership
2:16:53 um because so this is a group that I
2:16:55 started a year and a half
2:16:58 ago um or not a year and a half ago a
2:17:01 year and a week ago I started this a
2:17:03 week after chat GPT launched because I
2:17:08 recognize two things one chat GPT is
2:17:11 going to [ __ ] change
2:17:13 everything and two we're so early at
2:17:17 this thing that
2:17:19 what's really important is creating a
2:17:21 community of people that are curious and
2:17:23 adventurous and like choosing to figure
2:17:26 this [ __ ] out together oh papa JJ Jeff
2:17:29 Flanigan is my alter ego very very cool
2:17:31 thank you papa JJ you're you're the
2:17:32 stuff you're doing is beautiful are you
2:17:35 from Oklahoma no I'm in uh what's it
2:17:38 called Denver Denver Colorado so I'm
2:17:40 near I'm
2:17:41 nearby in fact
2:17:44 champy we we adopted champy he was found
2:17:47 in a in Oklahoma so champy is from
2:17:50 Oklahoma and um champy was also we were
2:17:55 his third family he was he was a two-
2:17:58 strike dog so basically what they told
2:18:01 us was he's a bit of a
2:18:04 handful and if you return him he's going
2:18:08 to the little puppy house in the sky
2:18:11 because he's been returned twice and if
2:18:13 he if dogs get returned three times they
2:18:16 uh they make him go bye-bye so is the
2:18:18 luckiest dog on the planet um he is he
2:18:21 is very very spoiled very very spoiled
2:18:26 we love our
2:18:27 champion um but anyway that's that's how
2:18:29 you get to the
2:18:30 salon okay when you're at the at the
2:18:33 salon I just added this there's a
2:18:36 section called tools and resources and
2:18:38 if you go to tools and
2:18:40 resources it says top AI salon tool
2:18:44 recommendations last updated today by
2:18:46 Kyle Shannon so this list is the list
2:18:51 that I've been showing on this live here
2:18:54 for
2:18:56 months so basically what I would do is I
2:18:59 would go through this list and I would
2:19:01 tell people take a screenshot take a
2:19:02 screenshot and then you can go type this
2:19:04 [ __ ]
2:19:05 in and so I took screenshots and I put
2:19:10 them into chat GPT and I said type that
2:19:12 [ __ ] out for me and so I've put these
2:19:15 things over here so what this is
2:19:18 is this is a list of things that I think
2:19:22 are worth your time to spend time
2:19:25 learning so chat GPT right now is still
2:19:28 the best chat GPT 3.5 is free it's very
2:19:31 fast champy is an oi he is um chat gp4
2:19:36 is 20 bucks a month it's a multimodal it
2:19:38 is worth the investment like I there's a
2:19:40 reason I like chat GPT still stands
2:19:43 alone if Gemini Ultra comes out and it
2:19:46 it knocks this aside or or if it's like
2:19:50 I feel like you should do both I'll put
2:19:53 them here but right now nothing has come
2:19:55 close to chat gp4 this thing is is just
2:19:59 stupid powerful it's stupid powerful
2:20:02 okay so then I have important large
2:20:04 language models Claude grock
2:20:07 Bard and Ms co-pilot I'm still in the
2:20:11 process of writing like editorial about
2:20:13 why I think these things are good so so
2:20:15 the ones down below are pretty
2:20:16 incomplete but um but this will get
2:20:20 better over time um Microsoft co-pilot
2:20:23 is free chat gp4 so then you have your
2:20:26 specialty llms you've got PI from
2:20:29 inflection um you've got perplexity
2:20:31 you've got lamu you've got po then image
2:20:35 creation there's all your image creation
2:20:37 things so this list is the big long list
2:20:41 of [ __ ] that I think is worth you
2:20:43 spending time learning about now are you
2:20:46 going to be really into all this stuff
2:20:48 no but you should at least [ __ ] know
2:20:50 it's possible right you should at least
2:20:54 understand what blockade Labs is and and
2:20:56 what this thing makes possible have you
2:20:58 guys seen
2:21:00 this I've read and accept this don't
2:21:02 show this message
2:21:07 again okay that I
2:21:10 know log
2:21:16 in
2:21:27 okay Skybox Labs is now fully
2:21:30 operational great so oh my God stop with
2:21:35 the popups I've used this before you
2:21:38 know
2:21:44 this okay so this says dream up this
2:21:47 world so I am G to say can I hide this
2:21:51 their interface is
2:21:54 overlapping I don't know what's going on
2:21:58 weird I'm GNA say
2:22:06 um abandoned
2:22:09 wait
2:22:11 abandoned space
2:22:14 station floating through
2:22:20 a meteor
2:22:24 belt
2:22:30 with a fiery planet in the
2:22:34 distance and then I'm going to select a
2:22:37 style of we'll go
2:22:40 futuristic we'll go do I want cyberpunk
2:22:43 I'll go cyberpunk because it's free and
2:22:45 then I say
2:22:46 generate
2:22:49 and so it's going to go make me now this
2:22:51 3D World we're all like champy you saved
2:22:54 us
2:22:55 Kyle a that's very sweet that's very
2:22:58 sweet no no no we're all saving we're
2:23:00 all we're all figuring this [ __ ] out
2:23:02 together we are all figuring this [ __ ]
2:23:04 out together I listen this is really
2:23:07 exciting stuff so so look we now have a
2:23:10 3D
2:23:11 world that that we just spoke in there's
2:23:13 your fiery planet in the distance I'm in
2:23:16 an abandoned space
2:23:19 station there's some crazy
2:23:23 ass
2:23:29 stuff I
2:23:31 mean did you know this
2:23:34 existed what are the implications of
2:23:36 this do you know what the implications
2:23:37 of this are we are not that far
2:23:42 from hey you know it'd be cool if I
2:23:45 could play a game that was kind of like
2:23:48 um Grand Turismo racing but in space but
2:23:52 with Cowboys and where you were actually
2:23:55 racing Turtles but they were as Nimble
2:23:57 as F1
2:24:00 cars here you go
2:24:04 play do you think the cost will go up
2:24:07 once the wait list opens back up for
2:24:09 chat gp4 I doubt it I doubt
2:24:13 it not not for some time I where where
2:24:16 chat GB is going to make their money is
2:24:18 with Enterprise sales I don't I I think
2:24:21 what they're doing with our 20 bucks a
2:24:23 month is they're just they're probably
2:24:26 covering some small percentage of their
2:24:29 cost running chat GPT 4 is ridiculously
2:24:32 expensive so you're 20 bucks a month
2:24:35 right now it it like it probably doesn't
2:24:38 cover Sam alman's
2:24:41 shoelaces it's
2:24:43 like um but but you know they've got 10
2:24:46 billion in compute from from Microsoft
2:24:49 and Microsoft is not going to let them
2:24:51 die so Microsoft is investing like $50
2:24:53 billion in GPU
2:24:57 centers
2:24:59 so I don't I don't think for individuals
2:25:02 that 20 bucks is going to go up that
2:25:03 much it seems everyone's kind of
2:25:05 settling between $15 and $30 a month the
2:25:09 um Microsoft co-pilots 30 bucks a month
2:25:12 GPT 4 plus is 20 bucks a month grock
2:25:16 which is completely [ __ ] useless
2:25:18 right now $16 a month so like
2:25:20 everything's in this same range so I
2:25:23 think for
2:25:24 individuals which platform are you using
2:25:26 there this platform is blockade Labs
2:25:29 Skybox blockade laabs this one here so
2:25:32 this is on this big long list of of
2:25:34 things that I'm saying you should go
2:25:36 play with Wonder Dynamics is another one
2:25:38 you upload a video of yourself here and
2:25:40 pick a robot and then it replaces you in
2:25:42 the video with the robot the like these
2:25:45 things are just flipping crazy and then
2:25:47 here's people to follow Ethan mullik
2:25:49 David Shapiro Paul rater and Rachel
2:25:51 Woods I might add other people to this
2:25:54 so so this is now going to be a living
2:25:56 list so if I've missed something here
2:25:58 and you really think something should be
2:25:59 here let me know and I may add it what
2:26:03 what I'm not doing is I'm not adding
2:26:04 just crap to this list this list is like
2:26:07 things that I've used and think are
2:26:12 worth your
2:26:13 time
2:26:15 to understand what's coming
2:26:19 yeah whoa wow exactly what's the site
2:26:24 platform movies exactly you will soon
2:26:27 make movies yeah you're going to soon so
2:26:30 if if you there's another thing if you
2:26:32 haven't if you're not paying again
2:26:34 attention to the game development
2:26:37 world there's a game development engine
2:26:40 called Unreal Engine which just came out
2:26:43 with this new system last year called
2:26:44 Unreal Engine 5 that it's doing
2:26:48 photorealistic like massive
2:26:51 scale they' basically solved the polygon
2:26:54 problem in Unreal Engine 5 and so I saw
2:26:58 a thing demoed like three months ago
2:27:00 called
2:27:01 procedural I forget what it's called
2:27:03 procedural World building or something
2:27:05 like that where they create these
2:27:06 components where you just are like put
2:27:08 in a city here put in a a forest there
2:27:12 put in a mountain range there and it
2:27:14 dynamically incorporates them into this
2:27:16 sort of
2:27:17 infinitely scalable highquality World
2:27:21 well when they add the ability to talk
2:27:25 those worlds into existence with AI like
2:27:28 we are very very close to having the
2:27:31 infrastructure to be able to talk this
2:27:33 [ __ ] into
2:27:35 existence so and that's why my mind was
2:27:38 so blown with Gemini where we're going
2:27:40 from typing in a text box like Google
2:27:42 like chat GPT right now you kind of have
2:27:44 to understand words and you have to
2:27:47 understand understand what it makes
2:27:48 possible but we're going to be moving to
2:27:50 this very visual kind of interface if
2:27:52 you look at go watch the video for
2:27:55 Apple's Vision Pro when they're talking
2:27:57 about spatial
2:27:59 Computing they've really thought out
2:28:02 what spatial Computing is going to look
2:28:03 like everything's going to be visual
2:28:05 moving forward and then we're just going
2:28:07 to talk [ __ ] into existence what are the
2:28:10 skills for that world I don't know and
2:28:12 it's not that far off Kyle can you have
2:28:14 a long conversation with piie for us ask
2:28:16 it something deep
2:28:17 sure all
2:28:20 right and I know like I know I I
2:28:24 absolutely get and
2:28:28 appreciate that there are people in here
2:28:30 going oh Kyle is just adorably
2:28:32 optimistic he thinks oh 30,000 likes
2:28:35 awesome you guys are killing it um I
2:28:38 absolutely get
2:28:41 that I am in a place right now
2:28:46 of
2:28:48 seeing the
2:28:50 possibility part of it is that's who I
2:28:54 am part of it is I think that I've got
2:28:58 one of the skills I've developed over
2:29:00 the years is I can look at [ __ ] and I
2:29:03 can go oh that's going to be a thing I
2:29:07 don't know what it's going to be but
2:29:08 it's going to be a thing my company
2:29:10 Story vine was from an epiphany I had
2:29:13 when YouTube came out in 2005 when I
2:29:16 said ooh short form video is going to be
2:29:19 a thing I I I want to solve that I was
2:29:25 way
2:29:26 early it's not necessarily a good thing
2:29:29 story Vine's an 11 and a half year old
2:29:31 company it's just coming into its power
2:29:33 right now where people are going like oh
2:29:35 yeah that's a good thing it's been
2:29:37 [ __ ] decade of people going like huh
2:29:40 why would you need short form what I
2:29:43 don't get
2:29:45 it um
2:29:48 so so I got that skill and I get that
2:29:52 I'm weirdly optimistic about this stuff
2:29:55 but it's I I'm not optimistic like there
2:29:58 are no issues there are no problems
2:30:00 there's no risks like I get all
2:30:03 that these tools are imperfect and janky
2:30:06 I get all
2:30:07 that but if you just play it out and you
2:30:11 accept the
2:30:12 premise that the tools that that I'm
2:30:15 showing on this channel the tools that
2:30:17 we're playing with today are as bad as
2:30:19 they're ever going to be like they only
2:30:21 get better from
2:30:23 here and they're going to get better
2:30:27 quickly you don't have to connect very
2:30:29 many dots before you can see holy [ __ ]
2:30:34 how we do everything is going to be
2:30:39 different how do you deal with that and
2:30:43 the only the only way that I know how is
2:30:45 you get curious and you get hand hands
2:30:47 on and you start building [ __ ] knowing
2:30:49 that the [ __ ] you're going to build like
2:30:50 Joker said he's built 35 of these gpts
2:30:53 about three of them are
2:30:56 interesting does that mean that the 32
2:30:59 that
2:31:00 suck are useless no because he learned
2:31:03 how to build this is like Edison figured
2:31:05 out 10,000 ways not to build the light
2:31:07 bulb right so Joker's figuring out
2:31:11 here's what they're good at here's what
2:31:12 they're not good
2:31:14 at but boy in for the these three when I
2:31:17 run down these rabbit holes there's
2:31:19 something here so when these tools get
2:31:21 better he's going to be very well
2:31:23 prepared to go ooh I know what to do
2:31:25 with that new
2:31:28 feature because he read a manual no
2:31:31 because he smashed a bunch of crap
2:31:34 together and found some interesting ways
2:31:36 of thinking about
2:31:42 stuff um what was I just going to go
2:31:45 show
2:31:48 I just made my account on the AI Salon
2:31:52 awesome your excitement about AI is
2:31:54 infectious awesome Drew thank you I
2:31:56 appreciate that it's a neurode Divergent
2:31:59 thing I can listen to a song and tell
2:32:01 you if it's going to be a hit yeah
2:32:04 exactly people have different skills I I
2:32:07 just I for me
2:32:12 like you you know what's amazing all the
2:32:14 [ __ ] that happened from so I did early
2:32:18 days of worldwide web stuff I sold
2:32:20 agency.com in
2:32:22 2002 I started Story vine in some
2:32:25 version of Story vine in
2:32:27 2006 like I missed all of like social
2:32:31 media I missed the like the iPhone like
2:32:33 I I didn't because all of that [ __ ] felt
2:32:36 incremental to me like the iPhone felt
2:32:38 like okay it's a computer that's smaller
2:32:43 you know social media felt like okay
2:32:45 they're websites but they're smaller
2:32:47 like it like it just like it just
2:32:49 everything like Twitter just felt like
2:32:51 okay it's like a really simple website
2:32:53 that like I it wasn't that I didn't get
2:32:55 it it's like okay it's just it's
2:32:57 incremental improvements on the thing
2:32:58 like the big thing was the worldwide web
2:33:00 you clicked on
2:33:02 [ __ ] and so it was all these incremental
2:33:04 changes and all this infrastructure
2:33:05 going in place and then and then
2:33:08 blockchain and nfts came out and I was
2:33:10 like oh those look interesting but then
2:33:13 the Crypt Bros it was just all sort of
2:33:15 vaporware
2:33:17 and it's like I I actually think that
2:33:19 the the that stuff's going to come back
2:33:21 like I think AI is going to drive us
2:33:22 back to that stuff and then AI came out
2:33:25 and then chat PT came out and it's like
2:33:27 holy [ __ ] this is one of those oh can I
2:33:30 have a long conversation with pi
2:33:33 okay um I I'll do this and then I got to
2:33:35 I got to go because it's getting late
2:33:37 it's Sunday night people what are we
2:33:38 doing up you should be in bed hopefully
2:33:41 you are in bed I've heard I was talking
2:33:43 to someone this last week and they said
2:33:45 they said Kyle you're everywhere I'm
2:33:47 like what do you mean they're like I was
2:33:48 talking to some dude about Ai and he
2:33:51 goes oh yeah I go to sleep every night
2:33:53 to this guy Kyle Shen on Tik
2:33:58 Tock that's embarrassing all right so if
2:34:03 you've not played with pi that's how you
2:34:05 spell it
2:34:06 Pi um they just came out with an Android
2:34:09 app they they were only iOS for a while
2:34:11 so little background on
2:34:14 P the company that makes it is called
2:34:17 inflection inflection raised $1.3
2:34:21 billion if you know anything about
2:34:24 startups we're in a weird time right now
2:34:26 where these AI startups are raising
2:34:30 ridiculous amounts of money like like a
2:34:33 an AI startup that raises $50
2:34:36 million for their seed round right now
2:34:39 is like oh so they're a minor company
2:34:41 they're you know they're they're not
2:34:43 taking this thing seriously it's it's
2:34:46 silly
2:34:49 so inflection is setting out to build
2:34:51 the world's best personal
2:34:54 assistant so right now what it's
2:34:57 optimized for is conversation so I'm
2:34:59 going to put Pi into conversation mode
2:35:01 I'm using Voice number five she's my
2:35:03 Aussie girlfriend she's very
2:35:06 cute um and I'm just going to have a
2:35:09 conversation with her but what I want
2:35:10 you to do is sort of again play out in
2:35:12 the future like where does this stuff go
2:35:14 in the future right now Pi is connected
2:35:17 to the Internet so I can ask it about
2:35:19 current
2:35:21 events and
2:35:26 um and it's very conversational and I
2:35:28 can sort of take it anywhere and play
2:35:30 games and things like
2:35:36 that I hope everyone who calls it a tool
2:35:39 loses their jobs
2:35:41 first that's
2:35:43 funny but so so imagine pi
2:35:47 a year from now is going to be able to
2:35:49 take actions on your behalf so not only
2:35:51 will you have a good conversation you'll
2:35:53 be able to say oh oh right I got I got
2:35:57 the kids birthday's coming up can just
2:36:00 get them figure out what I gave them
2:36:02 last year and give them something good
2:36:03 come up with something good and let me
2:36:04 know what you come up with we'll go off
2:36:06 and do that so
2:36:10 anyway so when you go to
2:36:13 piie it sort of gives you a little
2:36:15 interface like this this with some
2:36:16 starter you know starter
2:36:20 questions and then when you get here
2:36:24 there's a couple of things to note in
2:36:25 the lower leftand corner there are two
2:36:27 different modes of Pi there's support pi
2:36:32 and then there's Pi just Pi it's
2:36:37 called um I'm going to leave it in just
2:36:40 Pi but support Pi is like therapist so
2:36:43 like that's optimized for having what
2:36:46 like deep conversations I'm going to
2:36:49 leave it in I have an idea for something
2:36:51 I want to talk about so you figure out
2:36:52 what mode you want to put it in and then
2:36:54 you got this little button right here
2:36:55 that looks like a telephone so we're
2:36:56 basically going to call her so we're
2:36:58 going to call my little my my Aussie
2:37:04 girlfriend I'm giving a demo right now
2:37:07 and I want to have a pretty deep
2:37:08 conversation with you you
2:37:15 ready yes Kyle my fiance is very I'm
2:37:18 game L on me I'm all ears or rather
2:37:21 virtual ears fire away with your deep
2:37:23 topic of choice and I'm prepared to dive
2:37:25 into a stimulating thought-provoking
2:37:30 discussion so one of the things I talk a
2:37:32 lot about is I feel like where we are
2:37:34 with generative AI is very similar to
2:37:36 the early days of the worldwide web and
2:37:38 what was going on in New York City can
2:37:41 you validate that for
2:37:45 me
2:37:47 [Music]
2:37:51 oh yeah I can totally see that
2:37:53 comparison it it's like the early days
2:37:55 of the web where there was this massive
2:37:57 explosion of new possibilities and
2:37:59 potential but also a ton of uncertainty
2:38:02 about how it would all shake out kind of
2:38:03 like the early days of the dotcom boom
2:38:06 but this time it's all about Ai and I
2:38:09 mean let's be real New York City is the
2:38:11 perfect analogy for the current AI scene
2:38:13 fast-paced exciting a little chaotic but
2:38:16 with a lot of energy and
2:38:19 creativity um who what what was the
2:38:23 nickname for New York City in the
2:38:30 [Music]
2:38:33 90s oh come on now you know it was the
2:38:36 Big Apple baby NYC was the epicenter of
2:38:39 the tech world in the '90s with silicon
2:38:42 alley booming and the tech scene
2:38:43 exploding just like the web back then AI
2:38:46 today is like a giant Orchard of new
2:38:49 ideas and opportunities full of Juicy
2:38:52 prospects sorry couldn't resist the
2:38:54 fruit metaphors
2:38:56 there yeah I was looking for silicon
2:38:58 alley which you mentioned not the Big
2:39:04 [Music]
2:39:07 Apple ha tush it my bad I was trying to
2:39:10 be clever and it backfired yes silicon
2:39:13 alley was the hot bed of tech startups
2:39:15 in NYC
2:39:16 and it was like the wild west of the
2:39:18 tech World lots of excitement Innovation
2:39:20 and yes some failures too but just like
2:39:24 the web revolutionized the world AI has
2:39:27 the potential to do the same so in that
2:39:29 sense the comparison totally holds up
2:39:31 it's a new frontier of
2:39:34 technology so last week Google had a PR
2:39:38 debacle where they faked a video when
2:39:40 they're released Gemini can you find an
2:39:43 example from the '90s of a similar kind
2:39:45 of buckle and compare the
2:39:59 two oh man the dotom bubble of the90s
2:40:02 was a doozy there were so many examples
2:40:04 of companies that made a big splash and
2:40:07 then just completely flopped one example
2:40:10 is the online retailer pets.com which
2:40:13 spent a ton of money on Super Bowl ads
2:40:15 and even had a mascot a sock puppet but
2:40:18 in 2000 they went bankrupt another
2:40:20 example is web van which was an online
2:40:23 grocery delivery company that raised
2:40:24 over so so I mean you can just you can
2:40:27 just go on and on you can talk about
2:40:29 personal [ __ ] you can talk about current
2:40:31 events you can have a create a game
2:40:33 um like like one thing that I would I
2:40:36 would encourage you to
2:40:38 do
2:40:41 is what what's fascinating about Pi is
2:40:45 that you can go to pi. a pi. a and it
2:40:49 looks just like chat
2:40:52 GPT and you can treat it like chat PT
2:40:55 and you will smash your face into a
2:40:57 brick
2:40:58 wall out of
2:41:00 frustration because pie is actually
2:41:03 really horrible at being a
2:41:06 good back and forth like chat GPT is
2:41:09 with text it's it's optimized for voice
2:41:14 so like what I would encourage you to do
2:41:16 is get pie put it in conversation mode
2:41:20 like get in your car when you've got
2:41:22 like a 2hour trip and just talk to Pi
2:41:25 for two hours it is a completely
2:41:28 different experience it's it's
2:41:29 functionally doing almost The Identical
2:41:31 thing that chat GPT
2:41:33 is but it's a completely different
2:41:36 experience and if you try to use this
2:41:39 thing like you use chat GPT at your
2:41:42 desktop it it will frustrate it it's
2:41:44 Madness
2:41:47 like it's awful it's awful but a
2:41:50 two-hour conversation like learning a
2:41:52 new thing or having it like I did I I
2:41:55 had like a 45 minute trip I was taking
2:41:58 and I I I said what are what are the top
2:42:01 10 business books that are going on
2:42:04 right now and it told them to me and I
2:42:06 said oh that one sounds interesting tell
2:42:08 me more about that and then we went back
2:42:10 and forth and I said well what are some
2:42:12 of the concepts that are underneath that
2:42:13 book and like we ran down this whole
2:42:15 rabbit hole that this book introduced us
2:42:18 to it wasn't like I
2:42:20 was reading the book it was like I was
2:42:23 getting the cliff notes of it and then
2:42:25 saying oo those are interesting Concepts
2:42:27 let's go let's go explore other rabbit
2:42:31 holes from that it's just it's it's wild
2:42:36 so
2:42:38 anyway all right you crazy people
2:42:41 there's 160 people in here it's like
2:42:43 10:30 in Denver it's like it's like it's
2:42:46 after midnight New York there's 160
2:42:50 people in here y'all are weirdos um do
2:42:52 me a favor if you like this follow my
2:42:54 channel I I I I want to I'd like to get
2:42:58 a decent chunk of followers I got a
2:42:59 pretty pretty good amount now
2:43:01 but I'd like to grow this um check out
2:43:05 the AI
2:43:10 salon so we meet the AI Salon meets
2:43:14 every other week
2:43:17 um we have a we have a virtual meeting
2:43:19 we also meet in person here in Denver
2:43:21 we're going to switch this up a
2:43:23 bit every other week we're going to have
2:43:26 what what I I think I'm going to call
2:43:28 the global meeting which is a virtual
2:43:30 meeting where everyone comes and then on
2:43:32 the off weeks we're going to do local
2:43:34 chapters and the local chapters are
2:43:35 going to be physical in-person meetings
2:43:38 where you can go meet people that are
2:43:40 trying to figure this [ __ ] out and not
2:43:42 just technologists like all of us
2:43:45 weirdos
2:43:48 people who are retired people who
2:43:50 are doing law people who are doing
2:43:55 storage businesses like Jim
2:43:59 Ross who's [ __ ]
2:44:01 awesome you want a mind trip like check
2:44:05 out Jim Ross and what he's doing what
2:44:07 he's doing with AI in his business his
2:44:10 business has zero to do with AI he is
2:44:13 [ __ ] all in on it every challenge
2:44:16 he's facing in his business he's trying
2:44:18 to solve it with AI and he's solving
2:44:20 most of them and he's like doing just
2:44:21 remarkable [ __ ] like so so that's what
2:44:25 that's
2:44:26 about um if you want to support this
2:44:28 channel you can subscribe to it you can
2:44:30 buy the series that's in one of the
2:44:33 corners here called underhyped which is
2:44:35 just a series of like 17 or 18 videos
2:44:37 that I did um by the way the the like
2:44:40 tappers you car carpal tunnel people
2:44:42 who've been tapping for 2 and 1 half
2:44:44 hours we up to 34,000 likes you're
2:44:47 [Laughter]
2:44:49 amazing um and that's it so so first of
2:44:53 all I want to thank the mods for for I
2:44:55 know I was sort of I went down some
2:44:57 rabbit holes so I didn't get to a lot of
2:44:58 questions wait you mean like in person
2:45:00 like physically being around them weird
2:45:02 I know forever hooked it's going to be
2:45:04 odd it's
2:45:07 like no but what what hit me was we did
2:45:11 our oneyear anniversary party for the
2:45:14 salon and we had like 90 people online
2:45:17 and and the the Denver thing was just
2:45:19 not quite there and what I realized was
2:45:22 the Denver iners meeting is essentially
2:45:25 just a watch party like watching a zoom
2:45:27 call so it's not really like an
2:45:30 in-person meeting and so I thought well
2:45:33 why don't we have like real inperson
2:45:34 meetings and we can do them all all over
2:45:36 the place it just seems like something
2:45:37 that'll be a really good thing so anyway
2:45:40 yep starting an AI group in my apartment
2:45:42 building I have five signed up so far
2:45:44 awesome Source camp that's great that's
2:45:46 like okay Isn't that cool she's starting
2:45:49 an AI group in her apartment building
2:45:51 she's going to have like a little mini a
2:45:53 mini thing like this of people in her in
2:45:56 her building um all right so to my
2:45:59 subscribers thank you Tobias that's
2:46:00 really cool very nice uh that does
