2/4/2026 - Establishing Consistent Style with Midjourney Mood Boards and SREFs

Live Stream2026-02-0553:5099 views
Description
What do you want more of? What would you do if you knew you could accomplish anything? You know that's the world we live in now, right?
Kyle opens the session with an acoustic performance and shares insights from his recent work, "The Great Repurpose," arguing that the biggest crisis stemming from AI job disruption will be a widespread loss of meaning and purpose tied to professional life. He also discusses current limitations in Large Language Models (LLMs), noting that tools like Grok appear to be better at handling real-time information, such as accurate case law citations, and anticipates a fundamental shift in AI interaction within the next couple of months.
The focus shifts to a hands-on exploration of Midjourney’s Style Creator and Mood Boards, demonstrating how to build a consistent aesthetic using image references (SREFs). Kyle walks through the process of generating style inspiration using ChatGPT and Gemini, then importing those images to create a highly refined mood board that can be applied across numerous prompts for a cohesive visual style.

0:00 You ready for some singing? Are you 0:03 ready for some football? 0:40 Hey Vicki, what's happening? 0:44 I got me some new glasses. 0:50 What do you want to sing tonight? 1:08 Is this a place I can rest my forhead 1:15 to gather my thoughts in sweet silence? 1:22 And this is place where the feelings are 1:25 dead. 1:29 From an over exposure to violence 1:33 and this is a place I can slowly face. 1:37 The only one I truly can know. 1:41 These are tears from a long time ago. 1:45 Got these tears from a long time ago. 1:49 I need to cry. 30 years or so. 1:53 These are tears from a long time. 1:59 Go. 2:06 Oh, darling, you say unto me, 2:13 where have you been all my life? 2:20 But I have been swimming seven sad seas. 2:26 Four women have tossed me their lip. 2:34 I'd have them, but I didn't know. 2:38 These are tears from a long time ago. 2:42 Got these tears from a long time ago. I 2:46 need to cry. 30 years or so. 2:51 These are tears from a long time. What 2:53 are you doing, champion 2:56 ago? 3:16 in a westerly direction. 3:22 This one goes out to Vicki. My car is my 3:25 train. I think this is my first request 3:28 ever. 3:29 I've been driving. I've been wondering 3:34 what it is I'm running from again. 3:38 You singing along, Champy? John Mack, 3:40 what's happening, man? What are you 3:42 doing slumbing down here in these parts? 3:45 Feels like an 8-year-old man 3:49 holding on to 29. 3:55 And up ahead on that horizon, 3:59 Jesus is California. 4:08 Oh my god, my fingers are not working. 4:10 Other head of trucks carrying a wide 4:12 load. 4:14 Prefab house cut in half. 4:18 Cute little front door and two windows. 4:20 My love 4:22 ain't sure whether to cry or should 4:24 laugh. 4:26 There we go. See, I broke a home of 4:28 myself once. 4:31 As I stumbled to that door, 4:35 I read a note by the dawn light 4:39 said, "Don't you come around here 4:44 anymore." 4:46 Well, I've had enough 4:50 of this freedom of 4:53 never was good with decision. 4:57 At least that's what I've been told. 5:07 Oh, good lord. Good people. Um, I tried 5:12 to testify in some New Mexico thing, 5:14 some AI build tonight, but they didn't 5:15 call on me. So, 5:18 so I was going to make a difference 5:20 today, but then, you know, sometimes 5:22 they don't call on you and you can't 5:23 make a difference. 5:27 Hey, John Neack, if you haven't read it 5:29 yet, go read my piece on the great 5:31 repurpose. I'd love your take on it. 5:33 Maybe you can help spread the word a 5:34 little bit. Um, if you're still here, if 5:36 you don't know what it is, so I just 5:39 wrote this piece um called the Great 5:41 Repurpose that is basically the idea 5:43 that everyone's talking about job 5:46 disruption and how AI is going to take 5:47 jobs and all that. What they're not 5:49 talking about is the looming crisis that 5:52 sits underneath that, which is a a 5:54 crisis of meaning. That especially in 5:57 America, 5:59 as people have their self-worth tied to 6:02 their work, the like the tighter that's 6:05 coupled, the more dramatic this is going 6:07 to be. So that as AI replaces the tasks 6:11 of your work, 6:13 people are going to lose meaning. 6:14 They're going to lose purpose. And so 6:16 the great repurpose is a is a an 6:19 approach to at least name it and then 6:22 maybe put forward, you know, here's some 6:24 things you can do about it. Um, 6:28 it's gotten a lot of attention and a lot 6:30 of uh a lot of engagement, you know, at 6:32 least for for my uh for for what 6:35 engagement my stuff normally gets. So So 6:38 there's something there. So check that 6:39 out. John, I read part of it. We'll 6:42 finish soon. Cool. Just lost audio here. 6:45 Oh [ __ ] Everyone else, cool new specs. 6:49 Thank you. Yes, they are new specs. I 6:52 went I was gonna go I could I could have 6:55 gone 6:57 like a level more old guy or I could 7:00 have gone a level more hip. I went more 7:02 hip. I went like, you know, New York 7:04 creative director. 7:07 Insufferable New York creative director. 7:10 Yeah, I'm just not feeling it, Jesse. 7:12 Um, 7:14 yeah. I'm Could you go on ahead and 7:16 start? You know what? I'm What's really 7:18 not working for me is the curves. The 7:20 curves are just not It's It's not you. 7:24 It's not you. It's definitely me. It's 7:26 the And the font The font choice is 7:29 probably wrong. And the Well, the color 7:31 I hate drop shadows, as you know. So, 7:33 there's, you know, you've got some drop 7:35 shadows there. and and uh I I think the 7:39 company we're working for is a car 7:41 company, so I don't understand why it's 7:43 a peanut butter sandwich. Other than 7:45 that, I mean, I really think you've 7:46 nailed it in the aspect ratios 7:49 completely wrong, but other than that, 7:51 it's just, you know, you're a real 7:54 talent, you know, maybe in some other 7:56 industry. Um, yeah. No, we'll uh we'll 8:00 be getting back to you on this one for 8:02 sure. For sure. Yeah. 8:06 How's your eye feeling? It's shitty. 8:07 It's red and puffy and I got crust. I 8:10 still got crusty eye. 8:26 Um, I don't know. What are we gonna talk 8:29 about tonight? 8:33 I'm I am now 8:35 with the with the with the open claw 8:38 thing. 8:54 I have thoughts. 8:57 I'm not quite sure what they are right 8:59 now, but they're somewhere in the 9:01 neighborhood of 9:03 we just need to basically wait for a 9:05 month or two. 9:09 It's like just just go make yourself a 9:11 hot pocket. don't pay attention to AI 9:16 because I think we're probably a month 9:17 or two out from something like Open Claw 9:20 being easily installable or it'll come 9:22 from one of the frontier companies 9:26 and then 9:29 how we have to 9:32 how we use AI is about to fundamentally 9:34 change. The audio's back. 9:37 I that that seems like that could be 9:39 user error 9:42 on the uh in the John Knack household. 9:45 Maybe a kitty sat on your on your wire. 9:50 But I think you're a dog guy, right? 9:52 Please tell me you're a dog guy. Please 9:55 tell me it's not kitties in the knack 9:56 household. 10:01 Okay, this is an old trick. 10:05 Make a liptin tea. Oh, use the tea bag 10:08 as a compress 10:09 and let the tea in. That's actually not 10:12 a bad idea. Maybe I'll do that tonight. 10:19 We need AI as good as West Law. Well, we 10:23 need like listen, I 10:27 we need AI to not suck, right? We need 10:29 AI to get to get really good. But in the 10:32 last six months, it's it's gotten 10:36 better enough that that you know, some 10:38 stuff's coming. What do I want to do 10:39 tonight? I should do something. I should 10:42 do something. What do I want to do? 11:08 Hey, John Neack, you want to come up on 11:09 the old stage here? I don't have my 11:11 producer, 11:12 so I don't know how to bring you up. Oh, 11:14 I know how I could do it. Wait, you're 11:16 over on 11:18 you're over on LinkedIn. I can figure 11:20 this out. Hang on. I think my producer 11:23 went went sleeping. 11:28 How do I invite you? Um, that's hang up. 11:31 There's plus 11:34 copy. 11:36 If you've not met John Knack, 11:39 he's a swell dude. 11:42 So, what I'm going to do, John, is I'm 11:44 going to message you on the LinkedIn. 11:51 And if you want, come on up because I 11:52 want to hear what's going on with you 11:53 and what you're seeing in the world. And 11:55 I want to hear what you think about 11:57 OpenClaw and all that happy horseshit. 12:00 So if you're still here, there's your 12:02 StreamYard invite in LinkedIn. All 12:05 right, click there, join. 12:09 And if not, then whatever. 12:15 Currently, they can't site accurate case 12:17 law citations. 12:23 Yeah. Well, I listen, I think when you 12:25 start getting into extremely vertical 12:30 applications like, you know, that kind 12:32 of specific law requirement, um, it 12:35 probably makes sense to do, you know, 12:37 customtrained models and things like 12:38 that. Um, 12:42 will generous general purpose models get 12:45 there at some point? They will. They 12:47 will. They're just not there right now. 13:02 Oh, wait. I got to do this. I don't have 13:05 producer Brandon here telling me what to 13:06 do. So, I'm doing poorly. 13:13 Oh, yeah. 13:16 Never a dull moment. All right. We don't 13:19 have John Knack in there, so I guess 13:21 he's skittered off to put the kiddos to 13:24 bed. 13:27 Oh, lordy, lordy, lordy. Does anyone 13:30 have any questions about AI or tools or 13:33 anything they want me to play with 13:36 tonight? I will I will play with 13:40 whatever you want me to play with. Get 13:42 your minds out of the gutter, 13:45 garbage people. 13:54 blue. 14:01 Have you tried blue or blue? What's your 14:04 name? Blue. Blue age. Have you tried 14:06 perplexity? Is perplexity any better at 14:09 at the law citation stuff? because it's 14:12 it's designed to uh 14:16 you know to do research but like they 14:18 they are all pretty crappy like like 14:21 they they act really good like here I 14:23 got you all your research and then you 14:25 know half of it doesn't even exist 14:31 style creator 14:34 you want to do style creator and 14:36 midjourney we can do that 14:44 yeah they still hallucinate. Yeah, 14:46 perplexity still hallucinates there. It 14:48 looks like it looks like some of the 14:50 some of the researchers right now are 14:52 making progress on a replacement for rag 14:56 which is retrieval augmented generation 14:59 that are going to be a lot more 15:00 accurate. And it's basically like I 15:03 don't quite understand it but it's 15:05 basically like easily retraining a model 15:07 with specific information. Um rag is 15:11 like this separate database that 15:12 reference references chunks of 15:14 information. 15:15 Um I don't know enough about the math 15:18 and how that [ __ ] works to know if it's 15:19 going to be any good. But you know again 15:21 I I feel like 2026 is going to be the 15:24 year where we'll we'll start to see 15:26 stuff where like oh okay it's good 15:27 enough now. Um, but yeah, 15:33 I can't get style creator to actually 15:35 create a style. I've actually never used 15:37 style creator. So, 15:40 um, if John Knack comes up to 15:43 Streamyard, let's see. He might, you 15:45 know what it is? He probably logged in 15:47 like naked on a toilet or something like 15:49 that and he was like, "Hey, Kyle, how's 15:52 it going?" And then I'm like, "Hey, come 15:53 up on stage." He's like, "Dude, 15:56 I'm like naked on a toilet. What are you 15:58 doing? So, that's very possible. 16:02 Sorry, John. 16:07 Okay. 16:10 If you're new here and you're wondering 16:12 what the hell this channel's about, 16:14 that's a great question. That is a good 16:16 question. Source Camp's here. Finally. 16:20 Finally, we can start. 16:22 You know, source camp Kelly John Mack 16:25 actually had to show up because you 16:27 weren't here. 16:30 See, you never know what you're gonna 16:31 walk into on AI learning lab toilet. 16:36 Sorry, 16:38 it's my new glasses. My vision is cloudy 16:41 cuz my brain has not adjusted to the way 16:43 the lenses do their thing yet. 16:48 Blue Age Gro seems to be better at case 16:50 law and citations. Well, actually, you 16:53 you know what's interesting, Blue Age, 16:55 is 16:57 in a weird way, it makes sense that 16:58 Grock would be better at that because 17:01 Grock 17:03 Grock is basically updating its data set 17:06 in real time, right? Because you can 17:08 just search for anything on Twitter. So, 17:10 I don't know how they're doing that 17:12 because most large language models, you 17:14 know, they have to take a couple of 17:16 months to train it. Um, and they can't 17:18 update it really quickly. So, Grock is 17:20 being updated very, very quickly. So, 17:22 that actually kind of makes sense to me 17:23 that it's pretty good. Um, if you're not 17:26 paying attention to Grock, pay attention 17:29 to it. They're bringing a a a 1 gigawatt 17:33 um 17:35 uh CPU cluster online or they brought it 17:37 brought it online like um 17:42 Kyle, I didn't testify until 7:45 17:45 tonight. Well, hey, Cindy [ __ ] I was on 17:48 that Zoom. I heard you testify. I was 17:50 waiting to have my name called. They 17:52 didn't call my [ __ ] name. 17:56 I spent four hours today waiting for 17:58 that stupid legislature to to start 18:03 and then I rushed home from picking up 18:05 my spiffy new glasses. I don't know if 18:07 you noticed them, but they're kind of 18:08 saucy. Um, 18:11 and I got on at 6:20 and I listened to 18:14 some whole rigomearroll about some other 18:16 bill. And then our bill came up and I'm 18:18 ready to talk and there goes Cindy [ __ ] 18:20 I'm like, "Oh, I'm next." Nothing. They 18:23 didn't call me. How dare they? Exactly. 18:28 Do they know who I am? 18:31 No. 18:34 What's the problem? 18:38 Okay. Wait. What am I doing? What was I 18:39 doing? Oh, midjourney. Midjourney. Mid. 18:42 Yeah, I know. I know. Cindy [ __ ] I 18:44 know. I know. I understand. I am right 18:47 there with you. Okay, we're going to go 18:50 here. Wait, what am I going to do? I'm 18:52 going to go there or am I going here? 18:55 I'm going there. Wait, maybe I'll go 18:57 here. Yeah, I like that one. All right, 18:59 we're going to go there. I'm a little 19:00 teeny tiny in the corner. And then we're 19:02 going to go to midjourney. 19:05 Midjourney. Midjourney. 19:12 And we got to make a style maker. Okay, 19:15 there's a couple of things about styles. 19:18 Style creator beta. Okay, so let's read 19:20 what we've got to do here. You can all 19:22 see this, right? Well, not really 19:24 because the text is this was clearly 19:26 programmed by a 20-year-old 19:28 [ __ ] 23 year olds. I know. We'll use 19:31 the We'll use a font that only It only 19:33 requires six pixels to make each letter. 19:37 Let them try to see that. 19:42 Okay. Um, find the perfect style for 19:45 your prompt in a few simple steps. Step 19:48 one, scroll the page, selecting any 19:50 image that matches your target style. As 19:53 you scroll and select, 20:02 starting sty 20:05 wait what? 20:08 This is good. This is good. it. My job 20:11 tonight is to act as if, okay, I'm, 20:17 as you probably know, I am masterful at 20:20 everything AI. But what I'm going to do 20:23 tonight is I'm going to take my acting 20:24 skills. I have a degree in acting. 20:27 I'm going to act like I'm totally 20:30 clueless, right? And it's because I've 20:32 got chops, you know, it's going to be 20:35 believable. It's going to seem like I'm 20:36 clueless. So, if you're new here and 20:39 you're like, why are we learning from 20:41 someone who seems to be learning with 20:43 us? 20:45 It's just deploy. It's just part of the 20:47 act. Like, tomorrow you'll come back and 20:49 you'll be like, oh my god, he's a 20:50 genius. 20:55 All right. 20:59 Okay. As you scroll and select, the 21:02 styles on display will grow closer to 21:05 your target. 21:08 Okay. 21:12 Track your custom styles progress by 21:15 viewing the preview jobs on the right. 21:17 Continue refining your style until you 21:19 find the perfect one. It will take 21:21 around five iterations of your style to 21:23 stabilize. Then you'll notice a lot of 21:26 refinement from 5 to 15. Past 15, it's 21:29 all about nuance. 21:39 Okay, there's sample prompt. A man makes 21:41 eye contact with an older woman sitting 21:43 across from her in a subway. I actually 21:45 like that prompt. 21:48 Group. 21:51 Oh, okay. Group. One older woman, two 21:55 middle-aged women, two younger adults. 21:57 Location subway car. Expression. 22:01 Focused curiosity. 22:03 And then there's an SREF. 22:09 Well, all right. So, let's make it. And 22:11 I'm going to turn on No, no, I'm not 22:14 going to turn on personalization. Let's 22:15 just make it. 22:17 Oh, okay. I see what we're doing here. 22:21 Select images and scroll to refine your 22:25 style. 22:29 A man makes eye contact. 22:32 None of these are in a subway. 22:36 Oh. Oh. Oh, I get what's going on now. 22:39 Okay. 22:43 Oh, this actually that is my prompt. 22:46 Chat GBT wrote this prompt. 22:52 Okay. Okay. Let's see. Wait, wait, wait, 22:53 wait, wait. 22:55 This this is from um this is from the 22:58 music video from the from the great 23:00 repurpose music video. Instructions all 23:04 unclear. I was a whole mess. But watch 23:07 what happens when you start clicking 23:08 poop show. Okay, that's okay. That's 23:11 okay. Here's what we're going to do. 23:13 We're going to do a much more simple 23:14 prompt. We're going to do 23:17 um 23:22 dis 23:24 let's see 23:26 disc 23:29 at the 23:31 Senate 23:35 [ __ ] 23:41 Wait, end session. Reset. Reset session. 23:46 Okay. Disted at the Senate. 23:49 We're going to have no style references, 23:54 but we are going to make it landscape. 23:57 Okay, we did that. Go. 24:00 Okay. 24:03 Okay. So over here on the right 24:08 dist at the Senate. 24:18 Okay, got it. So we'll say I like this 24:22 one and I like this one. 24:26 And then do I 24:29 hit go? 24:31 Submit again. No. Wait. Wait for it. 24:36 Nothing's happening. 24:38 I definitely know what I'm doing. 24:41 Any of you that are thinking he doesn't 24:44 know what he's doing, you're wrong 24:46 because I'm clicking on things and when 24:48 you click on things, things happen. 24:52 The ideal minimum. Select images and 24:55 scroll to refine your style. Oh, I see. 24:59 Oh, I get it. Okay. Okay. Wait. I'm 25:01 getting it. I'm getting it. 25:05 Okay. All right. I'm getting it. So, 25:07 yep. Okay. Got it. Got it. So, okay. So, 25:11 here's what happened. Here's what 25:12 happened. 25:14 It's my new glasses. I can see what's 25:16 happening. 25:19 Okay. So, the ones I selected, it's it's 25:23 scrolling. It's It's like It's like 25:25 adding these all in 25:28 to to a look and feel. 25:32 And then when you get to a certain uh 25:35 amount, 25:37 um it basically submits the 25:41 the prompt using those additional 25:43 images. So, we're going to go through. 25:46 We're going to grab her. We're going to 25:47 grab him. 25:50 We're going to grab 25:52 crazy guy here. We're going to grab 25:55 Spaghetti Lady. 25:58 See over here on the right? See where 26:00 this thing is is scrolling down? 26:03 We're going to grab this. We're going to 26:04 grab this. We're going to grab this. 26:08 We're going to grab this. 26:10 Going to grab this. Going to grab this. 26:13 Going to grab this. And this. All right. 26:16 Now, it's doing another submission. And 26:19 it's saying we're supposed to get to 26:21 five is where it's supposed to be good, 26:26 I think. 26:28 Okay. But we want images. 26:31 We want the images I already generated. 26:35 If you're looking for control, I don't 26:37 think this is it. But watch what happens 26:40 when you start clicking poop show. 26:44 So I generated these and then it 26:47 generated these and then it generated 26:49 like these. I actually like. All right, 26:51 let's keep going. We're going to grab 26:53 this one. We're going to grab this one. 26:55 I like this one. 26:59 Uh, 27:03 like this one. Oh, what did I do? Oh, 27:05 no. What did I do? 27:10 No. 27:12 God damn it. 27:14 Starting over. Okay, at least now we 27:16 know what's going on. So, dist at the 27:18 Senate, we're going to get some images. 27:21 And now I'm going to go select some. You 27:23 know what I'm going to do is I'm just 27:24 going to start selecting blue things. 27:28 and purple and green and newspaper. 27:33 I have no [ __ ] discipline. Blue, 27:35 green. 27:37 Uh, I kind of like that rainbow guy. I 27:39 kind of like that. Oh, look. Three 27:42 blues. 27:45 Blues, 27:47 purples, greens. 27:52 I wonder if it's using my choices to 27:54 give me new images down below. Oh, I bet 27:56 it is. I bet it is. Yeah. Look how cool. 27:59 Look how cool these these images are. 28:01 So, it started out with this generic 28:03 [ __ ] 28:05 And now we got some blues and purples. 28:08 Blues, purples, and greens. And they're 28:10 kind of crazy good. 28:13 And then here's new ones coming in. 28:16 So, we're going to grab this. We're 28:18 going to grab this. 28:20 We're going to grab that dude. We're 28:22 going to grab this dude. And this dude. 28:24 Oh, I like scratchy guy. I like modern 28:28 art guy. 28:30 Um, I like that. 28:34 Oh, I like that. I like that. All right. 28:38 Now, we're That's That's number three. 28:40 So, here was one. There's iteration one. 28:44 There's two. I think I liked one better, 28:46 but that's okay. Two's being built or 28:49 three is being built as we speak. So, 28:51 we're going to do that one. That one. 28:52 That one. No, not that one. that one. 28:56 And then I like that one. I like that 28:59 one. I like that one. 29:02 I like that one. 29:05 I like that one. 29:08 That one. 29:11 That one. That one. 29:15 Oh, love that one. 29:21 Love that one. All right. There we did 29:23 five style creators. 29:26 This is kind of cool. 29:29 I'm I'm actually kind of digging this. 29:35 Scroll to refine. Let's grab that. That 29:37 that 29:51 Okay. 29:53 So, what do we got here? We got those. 29:55 Those are kind of cool. Those are kind 29:57 of cool. 30:00 Pin to pin preview. 30:04 Pin preview. 30:10 Now, what happens when I say end 30:12 session? Is that going to give me a 30:13 style? 30:19 Where's my style? 30:22 Is this it? 30:25 Finding style. 30:31 Um, 30:42 mood boards. 30:47 Where'd my style go? 30:55 Oh, I see. Okay, I got it. Got it. Got 30:58 it. Okay, so here's what's happening. 31:00 Okay, 31:05 I actually kind of understand this. 31:08 Um, 31:10 I think it's kind of a useless tool, but 31:13 it could be good if you just want 31:15 inspiration. Okay, I posted the style I 31:18 want to create in irregulars. 31:21 Yeah, that's not how this is. If Okay, 31:24 if you've got the style that you want to 31:26 create in irregulars, do you know what 31:27 the style 31:30 what the uh what the sref was for it? 31:37 Oh, look. We've got a survey, by the 31:39 way. Go to the AI salon, take our 31:41 survey. 31:44 We're trying to figure out what the hell 31:45 you people want. 31:49 What do you want in the A salon? Hello, 31:52 my name's Kan. 31:54 That's what you like to do today in the 31:56 air salon. 31:58 Go answer our survey. Tell us and we'll 32:01 do more of that [ __ ] 32:04 Um, 32:06 okay. So, here's Side Hustle Mimi. 32:12 I like that style. 32:15 Do you 32:18 I want to build a whole story. Well, 32:19 what I would do is I So, there's a 32:22 couple of things you can do. Okay. So, 32:25 what I would do, no, is I would go to 32:27 Gemini or um chat GPT 32:32 because you can just upload these two 32:33 here. Let's go try that. So, let me grab 32:37 let me just do this as a screenshot. 32:48 Okay, 32:50 we're going to go here and we're going 32:52 to go here 32:56 and we're going to go 32:58 and then I'm going to go to chat jeopet. 33:02 I'm going to go new chat. I'm going to 33:04 do temporary chat. I should do that more 33:07 often so it doesn't pollute my memory. 33:09 And I'm going to go paste. So, there's 33:11 those images pasted in. I'm going to 33:13 say, I want you to make me an image in 33:18 this style of a 33:25 couple of cool characters 33:31 standing 33:34 by a 1970s 33:39 muscle car resto Odd. 33:46 So, it's analyzing that look and feel. 33:50 You're currently on temporary chat. 33:53 Fine. 33:55 Damn it. 33:58 I want you to create. 34:04 By the way, something you should know 34:06 about chat GPT is you can't make images 34:08 in a temporary chat. Everybody knows 34:10 that. But again, I pretended not to know 34:14 it so that you don't feel so bad about 34:17 yourself. See what's going on here? It's 34:20 like a codependent kind of relationship. 34:23 All right. Fantastic. 34:26 I want you. I want you. I don't even 34:30 need to say I want you. I can just say 34:31 make this [ __ ] I want you to make me a 34:36 NAS image where some cool dudes 34:41 are standing 34:44 next to a 1970s 34:48 muscle car. 34:51 Use this image for 34:56 style reference. 34:58 So, this is one way to do it. Let's see 35:00 how good chat GPT does here. 35:05 Kyle is such a giver. I really am. I 35:08 really am. 35:10 Visa, I just joined. What AI model is 35:13 that? Uh the one we were on before was 35:15 midjourney. Now I'm in chat GPT 35:18 and I'm going to show you how that style 35:20 maker works. But it is abs that style 35:22 maker is absolutely not what you're 35:24 looking for. No. 35:26 This looks like it's going to give us 35:28 the right kind of image. 35:31 If it helps, I have my midjourney 35:32 profile linked. Okay, cool. Beautiful. 35:37 Was that an 35:39 You have your midjourney profile linked. 35:43 You mean on the Yeah, look at that. So, 35:45 that worked, 35:47 right? 35:49 That's cool. 35:51 I think 35:54 Yeah. 35:56 Okay. So there's there's chat GPT. Now 35:59 let's go to Gemini. Let's go grab our 36:01 prompt. 36:05 Copy. 36:08 Copy. And then we're going to go to 36:10 Gemini. 36:13 That's ide Gemini. 36:19 And then what we're also going to try to 36:20 create, no me is a mood board in 36:22 midjourney because I I don't think you 36:25 can make a mood board with two images, 36:27 but maybe you can. All right, there's 36:30 our prompt. Let's go back to here. 36:34 Let's go grab this again. 36:41 Let's go back to Gemini and paste that 36:44 in. 36:48 Go. 37:09 Yeah, that worked too. I think that's 37:11 even better. That's a nice That's like a 37:13 1972 37:17 Mustang 37:19 fastback. 37:21 Cool thing with the cool chickydos. I 37:24 said cool dudes. It gave us cool 37:26 androgynous chickydos. I like it. 37:30 I dig it. All right. So, there's two 37:32 ways you can do it. Now, let's go back 37:34 to MidJourney and see if we can wrangle 37:36 this [ __ ] into shape. Okay. So, 37:39 what we're going to do is we're going to 37:40 go back to this. I'm going to download 37:43 these. So, save image as 37:49 one 37:50 downloads. 37:52 Save image as two 37:57 downloads. And then, actually, let's go 38:00 grab because I think chat GPT did pretty 38:02 good. Let's grab this one. Save image 38:05 as. We'll call this three 38:09 to downloads. And then let's go to 38:11 Gemini and we'll grab this one, too. 38:13 Save image as. All right. 38:17 And it's going to be called four. So, we 38:19 have four images. 38:23 We're going to see if Midjourney can go 38:25 on ahead and not suck. 38:27 And then I'm going to show you how this 38:29 thing work, this style creator thing. 38:32 So, we're going to go to mood boards and 38:34 I'm going to say create new mood board 38:36 in the upper right right there. 38:39 I'm going to upload images. 38:42 So, I'm going to grab all four of those 38:49 and it's going to upload two of them. 38:52 And it's not going to upload two of them 38:54 because they're AVIF files. So now you 38:57 get to hear a Gen Xer get pissed off 39:00 because some dweebs in some [ __ ] lab 39:03 somewhere decided that images needed to 39:06 be 3% more efficient. So they created an 39:10 entirely new [ __ ] file format that no 39:13 one [ __ ] uses. 39:17 So what we're going to do because we've 39:20 experienced this before is we're going 39:22 to whine. Okay? We're gonna whine and 39:25 we're gonna [ __ ] and then we're going 39:27 to go fix it because we know how to fix 39:29 it. But someone, 39:32 some little punk ass 25year-old, you 39:35 know, if if we if we uh encoded the the 39:38 the pixels, the the data image and the 39:40 pixels, the color space, we could 39:44 nobody cares. 39:48 The internet's fast enough. 39:54 I just want [ __ ] to work. 39:59 [ __ ] noodle head. 40:02 Whining Wednesdays. 40:05 Okay. So, so what we're going to do is 40:07 we're going to open this with preview on 40:10 my Macintosh 40:12 computer system. 40:14 Calm down. 40:16 I'm here now. Everything's going to be 40:19 okay. Thank you, producer Brandon. I I 40:22 was just about to seriously lose it. 40:28 But you're here now. It's going to be 40:29 good. Good lord. Okay, we're saving two 40:32 as a JPEG now. And now we're going to 40:34 save one as a JPEG. 40:43 I can't. I can't. I can't. I can't. 40:48 Okay, we're now we're go back to to 40:50 Midjourney. 40:52 Midjourney let us select it, but it it 40:54 then it wouldn't render it. Why? Cuz 40:59 idiots. Okay, where did I save those? 41:01 Did I save those to the desktop? No, I 41:04 saved them to the wrong folder. So now 41:06 I'm even more pissed off. 41:14 Okay, let's go back here and figure out 41:17 where the [ __ ] I saved them. 41:21 This is exhausting. Tik Tok pin. Brandon 41:24 is the emotional support producer. I 41:27 saved them to the desktop. Okay. Okay, 41:30 people. We can go find them on the 41:31 desktop. This is not This is not a big 41:34 deal. 41:35 There's no reason anyone should be this 41:37 upset 41:40 except they're not here. They're not on 41:42 the desktop because they got saved to 41:44 some other desktop. 41:50 This is what this 25-year-old engineer 41:52 did to my life. This is what This is 41:55 what they did. 41:57 Are they happy? 41:59 I think they are. I think they're happy. 42:01 I'm going to save it to downloads. This 42:04 is two. 42:06 Save this one. Gonna export it. Gonna 42:09 save it to downloads number one. And 42:11 we're going to go back to midjourney. 42:14 15 minutes later, 42:17 we're going to watch as Grandpa Kyle can 42:19 figure out how to upload a file. But 42:21 it's not my [ __ ] fault. 42:26 Uh, what happened there? Oh, these are 42:28 Well, whatever. Doesn't [ __ ] matter, 42:30 does it? Yeah. Okay, fine. We're just 42:33 going to upload that as a double. Great. 42:36 Okay, so now, so this is a midjourney. I 42:39 mean, this is a mood board. 42:41 Drop images over this page. Click here 42:44 to select from your gallery. So, we're 42:46 going to say use in prompt. Okay. So, 42:49 no, I'm going to copy this style 42:52 reference and I'm going to put it as a 42:54 comment in your thingy here. I'm going 42:57 to reply 42:59 and I'm going to put this here. 43:03 comment. 43:05 Um, 43:08 let me go look at your 43:15 funsized 43:18 funsized AI. 43:22 Yeah, they don't these don't have style 43:24 references to them. 43:26 All right. All right. Whatever. Okay. 43:32 So there's there's our our our style 43:35 reference. Our mood board is up here. So 43:37 I said use use uh use in prompt right 43:40 there. So now I'm going to do um 43:45 girls jumping rope. And there's there's 43:49 a couple other things I'm going to do. 43:50 Rope. 43:52 I'm going to go look at my settings 43:56 and I'm going to put stylization at like 43:58 100. So stylization, what I've learned 44:02 with with uh 44:05 SREFs, which might be different than 44:07 mood boards, this is a mood board, that 44:09 if your stylization is at zero, it 44:12 doesn't follow instructions. So I move 44:14 it to 100 to start and I turn off 44:15 weirdness and I turn off variation or 44:18 vary or whatever that was. 44:21 And then I'm going to hit go. We're 44:23 going to make some emagages 44:26 and we're going to see if midjourney now 44:29 if that little mood board with three 44:31 images now works. I really like 44:33 midjourney 44:34 when I have 15 minute procrastination 44:36 breaks. Yeah, it's good for that. 44:42 Ah, this looks like it's going to work. 44:45 There you go. 44:49 So, now you can just use that that mood 44:51 board that I that I pasted in there and 44:55 just start giving it specific prompts 44:58 and then and then what I would do no is 45:00 this go make images using this or use 45:05 yes uh midjourney is still free inside 45:07 meta as far as I know you can do it in 45:10 midjourney here but you can also do it 45:12 in um Gemini or chatgpt just put paste 45:16 the images in there and say match it and 45:19 then anytime you get an image that's 45:21 exactly what you want, add it to your 45:23 mood board, right? So, go to your mood 45:25 board, start with two or three images, 45:28 start making images from that, start 45:30 doing it in Gemini and Chat GPT, and 45:32 just go get images you like, 45:35 and then just keep adding those to the 45:37 mood board. And and once you get in sort 45:39 of 15 images or so, it it'll probably 45:41 pretty good. Like, these aren't bad for 45:43 for uh 45:46 you know, for just having three images 45:47 in there. This is at least in the 45:50 neighborhood. 45:52 you know. Uh oh, where's mood board? 45:55 I'll show you in a second. That one's 45:57 really good. Love that one. That one's 45:59 good, too. 46:02 So, mood boards are over here on the 46:04 left. 46:06 Down here, you've got explore, create, 46:10 and then down in aesthetics, you got 46:12 personalize and mood boards. Let's go to 46:15 mood boards. 46:18 And so you can now now I've got this 46:20 mood board based on her artwork. I can 46:23 just click on that. 46:25 And now you can just drag and drop 46:27 images to this page. 46:30 All right. 46:33 And then to get the code you say use 46:36 imprompt. If you click on that, bang, it 46:39 adds the code up here. Now, there's a 46:41 weird thing that mood boards do which I 46:43 find really annoying 46:46 is 46:49 when you say use and prompt, it gives 46:51 you a big long number and 46:55 when you um 47:01 when you actually render the image, it 47:03 gives you the mood board name. 47:06 So, anyway, 47:08 all right. 47:11 Fantastic. Now, let me show you what 47:14 happened with the stylization, the style 47:16 creator thing. So, what this is is this 47:19 is more like a 47:22 like a creative tool, like a a creative 47:25 conceptualization tool. So, you start 47:28 out with a prompt and then you just 47:31 start clicking on images and as you 47:34 scroll down the page clicking on images, 47:36 at some point it will kick off a new 47:38 prompt. And then you do that like five 47:40 times and you end up so like each four 47:44 of these is a different layer, right? So 47:46 this is layer one, 47:49 right? That was layer one. Now here's 47:51 layer two. 47:55 Now here's layer three. 47:59 Now here's layer four. 48:02 Now here's layer five. 48:06 Now, each one of these, what I've 48:08 noticed is if we go back to create, each 48:10 one of these has its own style 48:13 reference. 48:14 So, you can grab the style reference for 48:17 these four images. You can grab the 48:19 style reference for these four images. 48:21 You can grab it for these four images. 48:23 You can grab it for these four. You can 48:24 grab it for these four. 48:27 But when you get to five, the the style 48:31 is pretty much baked in. So you'll get 48:33 really consistent stuff is I guess guess 48:35 what they're saying there. 48:39 It's pretty groovy. 49:10 Anyway, all right. Got it. 49:15 Pretty cool. Um, 49:19 I'm going to get out of here. My um 49:22 eyeball is killing me and I had a long 49:24 day today. So after you click se select 49:27 from the gallery 49:29 it just remembers. 49:32 No what happens is this. So look wait 49:36 after you click select from the gallery. 49:39 No the way you use Okay. So so wait I 49:43 don't know what you're talking about. So 49:44 if if I'm in mood boards 49:48 okay 49:50 way midjourney works. 49:54 I'm so sorry, Kyle. 49:57 I hope you're over your cold, too. I 49:59 think my cold is just tied to I think I 50:01 just basically have like infection body. 50:04 So, I've got an infection eye and I 50:06 think my body's like, "Hey, we're going 50:08 to we're going to cough a little. You're 50:10 going to feel generally like [ __ ] Uh, 50:13 we'll probably find some some other part 50:15 of your body to attack. 50:20 It saves it to the mood board." Yeah. 50:22 So, okay. Okay. So, if I'm in a mood 50:23 board, if if you just upload new things 50:26 to the mood board, it will make the mood 50:28 board more sophisticated. And then if 50:31 you want to use it, you you click use 50:33 and prompt. And then you can just copy 50:35 and paste this code at the end of any 50:38 prompt. D-p 50:41 space M and then the big long number. 50:45 And then I assume here, let's try this. 50:48 We'll we'll let me go 50:50 let me go to create. Let's download one 50:53 of these. That looks pretty good. That 50:55 one looks pretty good. So, we're going 50:57 to download this one. I'm going to go 50:59 back to my mood board 51:02 and I'm going to add 51:06 back 51:09 drag and drop images. Oh, upload images. 51:13 All right. So, there's the girls jumping 51:15 rope. So, I just added a fourth image. 51:19 All right. So now I'm going to say using 51:21 prompt. 51:25 Yeah, it looks like it's the same 51:26 number. So So the So you can change the 51:29 mood board. The number will stay the 51:30 same. And then you can change the name 51:31 of it. So this is mood board 15. I can 51:33 just do we can call this creepy dolls. 51:36 Creepy dolls. 51:39 And then I say use imprompt. And then 51:42 I'll do um 51:44 let's see um 51:47 girls doing math at the blackboard. 51:56 And now it's going to do its thing. And 51:59 you'll notice over here it says mood 52:02 board creepy dolls. And so I can just 52:05 click on mood board creepy dolls 52:08 and it'll add it to my prompt for the 52:11 next prompt. It's a shorter code once 52:14 it's rendered once. I don't know why. 52:24 Oh no. North Carolina. Hope you feel 52:28 well soon. It's everywhere and easy to 52:29 get hard to get rid of. Awesome. 52:36 That's these are cool. This is a really 52:38 cool uh this is a really cool mood 52:40 board. By the way, if you wonder how 52:42 Kelly Bash gets, you know, gets good 52:45 results, like once you sort of figure 52:46 out a style you like and you can get 52:49 these mood boards and styles dialed in, 52:52 you can you can just crank [ __ ] out in 52:54 styles that you love. All right, Groovy, 52:57 I'm going to get out of here. Let me go 52:59 take care of my body. And uh I hope you 53:02 all have a swell evening. Uh go check 53:05 out the AI salon, especially if you're a 53:07 member of the AI salon. Please, please, 53:09 please, please, please, please, please 53:12 go fill out the survey. Brandon and Andy 53:15 put together this survey. We want to 53:17 hear from you. What are we doing? 53:18 >> Survey is not out yet. 53:20 >> What's that? 53:21 >> Survey is not out yet. 53:23 >> It just showed up on the on the AI salon 53:26 before. 53:28 Never mind about the survey. I But a 53:32 thing popped up below here that said 53:33 survey was out. So maybe I got it wrong. 53:36 All right, 53:38 >> it's coming. So the message is not 53:40 wrong. It's just it's just pre 53:43 >> Oh, it's not out yet. All right. Well, 53:44 so never mind. Bye.
