18. 3:41been here before uh this is the AI learning lab uh we like talking about AI we like talking about chat
19. 3:47GPT um it's the oneyear anniversary of chat GPT um little bit about my background I'm an entrepreneur um I'm at my office
20. 3:57for my company Story vine I'm the founder and CEO here and um and yeah today is the the one-year anniversary of
21. 4:05of chat gbt launching and yesterday was the day that Sam Alman was officially welcomed back into chat GPT after being fired a week before
22. 4:17so it is uh there's it's wild and wacky stuff wild wacky um haha weird stream issues to start with good luck
23. 4:32newbies what are the weird stream issues life is full of them bad decisions that live earlier was so good
24. 4:40Kyle great thank you jrc that's awesome ah bad Life Choices makes total sense I've been obsessed with chat gbt
25. 4:48and Ai and have been using it for just a few months that's you're in the perfect place just stay obsessed stay curious um
26. 4:56I'll do a I'll do a walk through of some um of some other sites if you're if you're not exploring Beyond chat GPT I
27. 5:08think especially given what happened with the the shakeup recently everyone should have like a top four or five uh
28. 5:15large language models that they're playing with um hang on I'm still trying to organize myself here let's see yeah that's
29. 5:24better we got this we got this all right and then we got chat J pay we got chat J pay right there in that window that's that's your chat J

40. 7:32all right let's go do this so what is chat jpt how do we do chat jpt um it honest to God the other the
41. 7:49birthday Hat's a nice touch it's their birthday so they put a birthday hat on it that's you know some some programmer
42. 7:55was probably like you you want me to make you a a birthday hat graphic for the for the logo oh yeah do yeah could you go do
43. 8:03that that's got intern written all over it do you want clip art or you do want it doesn't matter we just need a hat on
44. 8:11the logo yeah go put a hat on the [Laughter] logo um okay so I'll I'll talk about it a little bit for so so chat GPT is what's called
45. 8:24a large language model and the GPT in chat GPT stands for generative pre-trained Transformer all of those mean nothing to you and they
46. 8:35shouldn't generative basically means it's generating new content so when you type something into the little box at
47. 8:42the bottom there the stuff it gives you it's actually generating it's not copying and pasting from other documents
48. 8:47it's actually generating it out of its knowledge where did it get that knowledge that's the P pre-trained so
49. 8:54it's been pre-trained on as much of the public internet as open AI could get their hands on and tag and put in the
50. 9:02special form that they needed to put it in to use the T which is Transformer so Transformer is the technology that lets
51. 9:11these large language models train on massive data sets is just a way you can think of it so so generative you don't
52. 9:18have to bring your own data and there's some technology that makes that possible what you can then do with it
53. 9:28is is is kind of infinite anything that involves language or or language in in any sense so like computer languages it
54. 9:37can do really really well so I'm going to flip over to GPT 3.5 which GPT 3.5 is the version of chat GPT that launched a year ago so this
55. 9:49this is what's been in our hands for a year um I think they may have updated some of the data in this but I'm not I'm
56. 9:55actually not even sure on that but what's what's nice about chat GPT 3 .5 why they still give you access to it is
57. 10:01it's incredibly fast um we'll see if they're super busy today but um okay so I'm going to say let's say what are we
58. 10:12going to do I'm at work here say um I want help coming up with a way to create a framework to help some
59. 10:27someone tell their story better all right great creating a framework to help someone could do it first Define
60. 10:38the purpose identify the target audience what are the storytelling elements what's the structure in the outline
61. 10:43what's the emotional Arc what are the themes what's the narrative voice right so it just gives you all this stuff so
62. 10:49with without even really trying with you know you you hear this word prompt engineering oh you should be a prompt
63. 10:55engineer you can be but you don't have to be so it's got its own Consciousness no Andrew it doesn't and and it's what's
64. 11:05funny about chat chpt I think I'm going to flip it into dark mode so I can see the uh the chat on top of it hold
65. 11:14please um General theme system dark there we go yeah that's much better well no it's not well whatever here's what I'll do that's worse

70. 12:08typing so that's not anything special to to chat GPT um all right so so I did that with someone wanting to tell their story I'm going to
71. 12:19say come up with five different story ideas for someone who's been struggling with going live too often on Tik
72. 12:35Tok certainly behind the scenes Vlog topical explainers user Q&A session storytime series wait what it did it did
73. 12:45it get that I said too too much here are five stories for someone who's been struggling with going live too often
74. 12:51these guys ideas can help them create engaging content oh without relying solely on on live broadcast oh that's
75. 12:58cool so okay so behind the scenes Vlog topical ex uh explainers Q&A sessions storytime series collaborations and challenges
76. 13:11um I like the story time series can you give me 10 different names that we might call that series and then I'm going to
77. 13:23say oh I forgot to mention the person also has ADHD ADHD Adventures okay everything has ADHD in it scatterbrain sagas actually that's
78. 13:37really good um so uh let's see I really like scatterbrain sagas can you write me an explanation of what the series would be that I could
79. 13:52use as a marketing paragraph in social media uh certainly introducing scatter scatterbrain sagas step into the
80. 14:05Whimsical world of Storytelling Through The Eyes of someone with ADHD in this captivating Series so writes that
81. 14:11perfect great awesome so so that's chat GPT it can also you could also say um can you create a table comparing the
82. 14:23advantages and disadvantages of St static content versus live content and so it will now very very
83. 14:38quickly create you a comparison table it's like wow oh wow okay all right all right okay static content control you
84. 14:47have complete control real live content real-time interaction with the audience so it's giving you the best of both
85. 14:53worlds accessibility content preparation disadvantages lower limited audience engagement technical issues right so
86. 15:02back and forth so it can do things like that you could also do something like I want to create a python application that is a
87. 15:16timer for the person that goes live that warns them every half hour and once the live hits 90 minutes automatically shuts off their internet
88. 15:29[Laughter] access let's see all right so now it's writing python code now that
89. 15:43doesn't just look pretty that's actually python code could you run it yeah you could take that over and run it
90. 15:51so what I'm doing right now what I'm playing with right now this is just chat GPT as it was a year ago a year ago today
91. 15:59effectively this thing launched it is my not so humble opinion because I guess I'm not I I have have a lot of thoughts I
92. 16:11have a lot of feelings I got a lot of opinions um it is my opinion that I could spend the next five or 10 years with nothing but this
93. 16:25tool and not really scratch the surface of what can do and this is this is like the old non-fancy version that we've been
94. 16:36that's been getting upgraded over the past year the the version of chat GPT 4 that we have now is is essentially chat
95. 16:43GPT 4.5 so we we've had sort of Two Step changes or like a step change and a half step change um in the past year and and
96. 16:52in the past 3 weeks GPT 4's just gotten insane insane so so what I strongly encourage any of you to do is go to hang on let me get
97. 17:07the the the page there go to that address chat. open.com that's chat GPT so the tool that I was just playing with that's it
98. 17:24um my big Epiphany with it came about a a week ago a year ago this week where when it came out I was just messing around with it
99. 17:38and I'm not a programmer I'm I'm a product guy so I have ideas for apps but I'm not a programmer I'm not an
100. 17:44engineer and I decided to see how good it could do at that coding stuff and So within 90 minutes I had created a fully
101. 17:53functional python application that generated five pieces of social media from some text inputs from a user in 90
102. 18:01minutes never having written a line of python in my life doing API calls to the open AI API will you share what I just posted in

104. 18:25got mad libs challenge oh cool yeah okay so oh that's super cool okay Be not Afraid absolutely so um so if if you've been here before if
105. 18:40you're if you're an irregular just go to the the salon website and um check out the Mad livs Challenge and so what we're
106. 18:49doing now what what Be not Afraid is doing what Danielle's doing here is she's going to do daily challenges and
107. 18:55so we'll we'll actually take this so I'm going to I'm going to flip into gp4 mode and one of the things that we're going
108. 19:00to show is that not only can chat GPT do all that remarkable stuff with text and language and things like that is chat
109. 19:09GPT 3.5 free yes it is chat GPT 4 isn't chat gp4 is 20 bucks a month on open AI site it is the best 20 bucks you'll ever
110. 19:20spend but you can't even spend it right now because they've got um new subscriptions are are shut down for that
111. 19:26right now cuz they're it's too popular um so um so this is a Mad Libs challenge I'm going to come back to that um if you
112. 19:36want to join the AI Salon where this challenge is go to this address AI salon. mn. um that's the AI Salon you're like
113. 19:48what's the AI Salon it's a bunch of weirdos who are geeking out on AI getting together choosing to be together
114. 19:57and we created this really remarkable Community the the one-year anniversary for the salon is next Tuesday so the
115. 20:04information for that event is in the salon and then um there's a bunch of different channels you can play with one
116. 20:10of them uh one of the sets of channels are called guilds and here let me show you that so this is this is mighty networks I
117. 20:27wonder if I can can I lower my screen brightness so you can see the icons better there you go um so when you come to the AI Salon you can
118. 20:37introduce yourself there's an area to introduce yourself there's also an about the salon section which tells you what
119. 20:44the salon's all about what our values are um and things like that so go check that out if it seems like something
120. 20:51you'd be into it's great it's a really remarkable Community but there's also these things called guilds so there's a um a
121. 20:59uh some basic guilds like a water cooler Chat Show and Tell things like that and then the guilds are uh like Peter's AI
122. 21:08101 Guild if you're a beginner there's a group for you there uh Leah's making Art Guild that's that's the one we're going
123. 21:13to play with here there's a writer Guild there's a business Guild there's a tech Guild there's Healthcare there's video
124. 21:19more guilds are coming so um really really fun so um so what this challenge is the Mad Libs challenge so imagine a
125. 21:31blank imagine an adjective inanimate object that suddenly Springs to life in a place this object perhaps common item or
126. 21:40an unusual is experiencing A Rush of emotion as it discovers its new animated existence use your artistic medium to
127. 21:48capture the moment of transformation and EM emotion focus on how the object interacts uh with its surroundings its
128. 21:55new change it its New Life Changes wait wait how its new life changes its appearance and the emotion it feels your
129. 22:02artwork should tell the story of Awakening wonder and blending the familiar with the magical so we're going
130. 22:07to copy that and we're going to flip back over to chat JPay and so what I'm going to do now is I'm going to flip into chat GPT
131. 22:174 and within chat GPT 4 is Dolly and so dolly is an image generation tool um if you don't have access to to chat gp4 where you can also
132. 22:33go is hold wait for it there Microsoft co-pilot co-pilot microsoft.com if you don't have access to chat gp4 this is chat gp4 and this is
133. 22:49Dolly 3 okay so I'm going to do this on chat GPT 4 so if you have access to that you can play along there if if you don't
134. 22:58go to PO Coop pilot. microsoft.com and play there and let me also check in and make sure that people are getting into

153. 26:38return and you'll notice that chat GPT says creating image and and Microsoft co-pilot will do the same and so chat GPT 4 is now fully
154. 26:50multimodal not fully but it's multimodal and basically multimodal means it does text it can see it can make images it
155. 27:00can create images um oh that's super cool um here's the image of the animated light bulb transformation the emotion it
156. 27:09Springs to life in the dumpster the artwork tells the story of Awakening and wonder blending the familiar with the
157. 27:15magical um so so there's our image so I'm going to I'm going to modify this a bit I'm going to say can you make it a 16 by9 image a bit
158. 27:25more photorealistic and have the light bulb be inside what looks to be a cavernous dumpster so we're going
159. 27:38to we're going to modify it so while I'm technically prompting here what I'm doing more than prompting is actually just giving it creative
160. 27:49Direction and it is behind the scenes actually writing the prompt for me so it's telling it's telling it how to make it wider and it's
161. 27:59telling it it's using whatever language it's got access to to write this prompt and it's really good at it all right so
162. 28:06there's there's our thing now I I there there's a new um there's a new um Trend I'm seeing on Twitter right
163. 28:17now about do images where where you can get you can just keep telling it to make the image more something so I'm going to say make

196. 36:05prey good name by the way um until about three months ago chat GPT couldn't make images chat GPT couldn't
197. 36:20do a lot of things in the past 3 months caty PT has gone from being just this text not just a pretty remarkable
198. 36:30large language model um to being this multimodal beast and so where before you would have to you could create a prompt for an image in
199. 36:41chat GPT you would have to go to Mid Journey or stable diffusion to do that um but now you can just go do it right
200. 36:49within the context of a chat so it's huge let me show you another thing it can do with images it can see so I'm going to go
201. 37:00find oh here's some images I did so these are some images I did for uh a a project or not a project an exercise on
202. 37:11the live where I storyboarded a film that I wrote so this is a film I wrote like 30 years ago that's a good
203. 37:22one so I'm gonna upload that image so it knows nothing about that image and I'm just going to say describe this in as much detail as
204. 37:41possible w w w wow wow the image depicts a cozy and detailed interior set within a cabin so it got that it's a movie scene on a
205. 37:53boat given the maritime accessories visible the color palette is dominated by shades of blue suggesting a tranquil
206. 38:01morning atmosphere the central figure is a man with an unkempt beard and tussled hair wearing loose fitting long-sleeve blue shirt he
207. 38:10appears to be in a compens contemplative or focused State lighting a match with the look of concentration the cabin is
208. 38:19cramped full of character so this just goes on and on to the left there's a bunk bed the scene is Rich Okay so
209. 38:27what can I do with that well I could say I want you to act as a master set decorator
210. 38:42and prompt Master for feature films period create a table that is an
211. 38:58organized set of objects Andor tasks that need to be accomplished to get this scene ready for filming period include in the table estimates
212. 39:25of how long it will take to set up that task or object okay
213. 39:44so this is now when you get into Productions of films estimated setup in hours 20 hours for the cabin
214. 39:53construction Maritime detailing 6 hours bed dressing 1 hour time specific props wardrobe actor preparation 2 hours per actor prop aging
215. 40:06weathering the lanter final touches 1 hour total estimated setup time 48 Hours um I'd like you to turn this into an
216. 40:24Excel worksheet that also identifies which role on the set will execute the job what the average hourly rate is for
217. 40:41that role and what the total cost is for each item okay so now it's doing something even crazier see where it says analyzing
218. 40:54right here it's got the little spin before it was saying making image now it's saying analyzing what it's going to actually do
219. 41:01is it's going to take this little table we wrote that it displayed on screen and it's actually going to write it as an
220. 41:06Excel file so if I open this little analyzing box it's writing its own Python and executing its own python to write an Excel
221. 41:18spreadsheet and it's going to save it as a downloadable spreadsheet file that I can that I can um use so imagine working on
222. 41:29a film let's say let's say oh say you had written a screenplay and you use chat GPT to create the storyboards and then you use this to
223. 41:40estimate um the production of the of the film wow a nautical film I like it it's a uh it's a haunting um kind of
224. 41:54Thriller with a trouble Vietnam vet and a bunch of stuff from his past that comes back and it's it's set on the
225. 42:02uh there's a temporary issue with generating the Excel file well that's annoying oh so it's telling me how to
226. 42:16make the Excel file I'm just going to go try again Yan Yan it's 4:15 a.m. here thanks for the wakeup call
227. 42:30guys hey steo what's happening what's happening it's uh let's see I it's 117 here I am BL eyed at this point um one minute later gave me the
228. 42:45wrong answer oh so yeah so so here's the thing about chaty PT it's not all sunshine and Roses it does what's called
229. 42:50hallucinating where it will just make [ __ ] up I like to call it mansplaining as a service um and no it's not doing it
230. 43:02uh so I don't know this chat jbt today's been having a lot of errors with uh with the code analysis for some reason so
231. 43:10something's something's going on in their servers um these tools what what I found is these tools will get you to about 80% of what you
232. 43:21need done really really well and then after that you're kind of on your own um all right let's go do something else uh
233. 43:27it's also connected to the Internet so I can say things like um what's the weather like in Denver this weekend and
234. 43:41what live events might there be that I can take advantage of so I'm giving it a couple of things there so now it says doing research with
235. 43:52Bing so it's out searching the internet on my behalf I never used use voice at my desktop I should yeah you know music
236. 43:59makes a smile it's it's it's one of those things where I have never used it because like it's just the setup would
237. 44:06take me five minutes and why would I take the time to do that and then I realized when I was doing these lives I
238. 44:12just spent people would just watch me type poorly and I'm like that's not really fair to them so I set it up and I I
239. 44:19actually really like it my co-founder of Story vine she uses speech to text all the time all right here's a quick search weather
240. 44:28forecast 20% chance of snow and showers after 11: on Friday tomorrow Saturday partly sunny with a high of 43 it'll be Breezy gust as high
