21. 5:07channel we've got different places that we go play and I'm shifting there's a new phrase that emerged at the last AI Salon that we
22. 5:18shifting from an urgency of breadth to an urgency of depth and the basic idea is that when this Channel
23. 5:26first started the urgency was like oh there's these AI tools we got to we got to figure them all out we got to go play
24. 5:31with them all and we got to you know get our heads around all of them and then what became really clear over the past
25. 5:36six months or so is there's no [ __ ] possible way you can keep up with anything anymore and I was you know I kind of
26. 5:45took pride in I I could keep a lot of that stuff in my head and it just completely overwhelmed me and so I was in a bit of a funk for a
27. 5:56while trying to figure out what do I what do I do what do we do what do we do what do we do what do we do what do I do
28. 6:00what do I talk about what do people want to know and a lot of the people that were in here were suffering from a similar
29. 6:06kind of Malay and lack of urgency and I I think it was just overwhelmed we put in all this time and the and the day
30. 6:15lose just keeps coming and it's accelerating and so that's the breadth right that's the that's the that urgency
31. 6:22to try to keep up with it all and the new urgency is an urgency of depth and that's not necessarily just
32. 6:30pick one tool but here's kind of where where where this is evolving for me is pick a project pick a pick a
33. 6:39something that may involve one or two or three or four tools and just go do that go deep enough you know you don't have
34. 6:47to learn all of the image generation tools you don't have to learn all of the video tools just learn one that's good
35. 6:53enough right all these tools right now are jankier than [ __ ] so we might as well just embrace the Jank
36. 7:01and just do something that's good enough so you can learn but go deep on something so oh I think I'm also on LinkedIn

43. 8:22deep diving um and one of the things I did I didn't I didn't do here l live but I I did it uh I was in between some
44. 8:33things at work and I just did a quick little experiment and it turned into this really slick um song called The quantum Cipher which
45. 8:46I've never had anything go viral before it went kind of viral I ended up on on Tik Tok my my video where I talked about it ended up
46. 8:54at about 375,000 which you know from going viral statistics you know that's peanuts but for me that's like four times more than
47. 9:05I've ever had on any any other video so that was kind of cool um and then I and then what was cool was
48. 9:15so I put this song out and then the the next night on the live Kelly BOS showed up and we had talked about doing a video
49. 9:23for it and she just showed up the next night with the video done and so we put that out and so so I had like a three or
50. 9:294 day period where it was super exciting and and then on the weekend um I was just sitting there watching a college
51. 9:36football game and and someone some tick tocker or someone I don't know someone told me about lovable dodev Lov abl dodev lovable
52. 9:50dodev and it's a text to application site like repet or um you know those coding sites but they said this one actually
53. 10:04works I'm like well let me go try it and two hours later I had whipped up a here I'll show it to you I had whipped [Music]
54. 10:22up where did I put it oh I know where I'll show it to you from I got the AI oh here it is is this thing the AI salon
55. 10:37newsomatic so I whipped this thing up in two hours absentmindedly just prompting okay to be clear when I say I whipped this up I
56. 10:49programmed this from nothing I didn't start with a template I have no idea what it's coded in I think it's react I assume it's re
57. 10:59act I don't [ __ ] know I just said give me a news Gathering site is how I started that gathers AI news and I didn't like here's the
58. 11:10amazing thing about where we are with AI Technologies today because I think 2025 is going to get even more Bonkers is
59. 11:21um you don't even really need to have a good idea I think that we're coming into a phase where you're you're going to have
60. 11:29to have a good idea but right now how much was this so well this this cost me um Drew Roberts Good Question um well
61. 11:39this the The Lovable dodev to get more than like three prompts you have to pay 20 bucks a month so I coded on this
62. 11:48thing probably coded I asked this thing to code for me for about two and a half hours arguably most of the prompts that
63. 11:57I gave this thing were no that's not right try to try again no that's not right try again that thing's still
64. 12:04broken no make the corners more round make the corners less round like it was all most of I would say 60 no
65. 12:1570 65 70% of what I prompted to make this was like little design refinements but like I mean it's pretty
66. 12:25sophisticated it's got this scroll see what goes up up beneath the the interface here it's got these rollover
67. 12:32states where when you roll over them they grow it's got these little labels it's got a search engine in it it's got a category filter with
68. 12:40totals um it's got infinite scroll so when you get to the bottom it just keeps scrolling keeps loading the page like
69. 12:47this is this is all sophisticated [ __ ] now if you're a coder you're like yeah Kyle whatever I could do that in like 15 minutes
70. 12:56fine fine congratulations good for you I can't I used to run one of the largest web agencies in the entire [ __ ] world
71. 13:08and building websites does not resemble what it looked like when I used to do that [ __ ] I can't do [ __ ] [Laughter]

94. 16:40with chat GPT it's telling people how to make money with chat GPT so if you're selling prompts and you make four grand

96. 16:54need to learn prompt Engineering in fact one of the things I show a lot in here is is Deco here which is um which is an
97. 17:02image generation tool you don't have to prompt it at all it just rains images and you just click on [ __ ] you like and
98. 17:08then you can create a station like a radio station of images and it just vomits out images it's amazing so
99. 17:15anyway um yeah listen I I the reason I have the gold button is there's lots of ways to make money with chat GPT none of them have
100. 17:26anything to do with chat GPT really how you make money with chat GPT is you figure out a problem that needs solving
101. 17:32and you go solve it right and if you do that well enough people pay you for it I prefer hear than Tik Tock I can
102. 17:42swear yeah well I can swear on Tik Tok all I want but if I show boobies or talk about boobies let's shut that guy down for
103. 17:51life my favorite trick is to ask the AI to write me a better prompt than the thing I just asked yeah and I think that
104. 17:57if you if you play around with chat gpt's 01 preview or 01 mini you watch it prompt itself pretty fascinating anyway back to this thing
105. 18:12so what's what struck me last week is on Wednesday making the song that I made wasn't possible it was made possible
106. 18:24because a new version of Tik Tock came out wait Tik Tock pin Kyle explain scraping websites for me is that what
107. 18:31your app does here okay so web scraping web scraping is kind of cool actually so what web scraping is is you
108. 18:41have a bot that goes out to a website like it literally logs into the website and then it's got an algorithm basically says of all
109. 18:52the code in the in the backend code of this website um what is just trashy buttons and navigation and stuff and
110. 19:00what's content and so it it pulls the content out and it scrapes the content um so so you're literally pulling it um
111. 19:09with this site this this was actually kind of cool so when I was when I was in lovable um and I first started doing
112. 19:15this it said you're going to need to put in an API key into this AP News service and I said does that API key cost me
113. 19:24money and it said oh yes you know you just go to this site and pay the money and I said I don't want to pay the money
114. 19:31can I get an R can can we do this with open available RSS feeds um and it said sure you can do that so if you don't
115. 19:38know what an RSS feed is it's called real simple syndication it's a it's a protocol that that was created by Dave
116. 19:45Wier back in the I think the late 90s 98 or something like that and it was made in a in an idealistic time in the
117. 19:55internet when when everyone wanted to be free and everyone wanted their information to be free and there weren't
118. 20:00[ __ ] pay walls everywhere and an RSS feed was basically like this single protocol that all the websites could use
119. 20:08that if you were doing content like blogs or news sites or whatever you'd put out an RSS feed and anyone could
120. 20:13subscribe to that and so some sites still do it right and so if you if you go to this site and you uh next to AI
121. 20:24newsomatic there's a little information this was one of the things I had it do is I had it give me this this tool tip
122. 20:31popup that if you roll over this eye here are the news sources that this thing's pulling from and and even every
123. 20:38one of the these news sources links to the site so here's TechCrunch AI so that'll just drop you right into the AI
124. 20:46section of tech tech crunch which is pretty slick um and then even in the in the little categories here here's the number
125. 20:54of Articles it found this is doing a 7-Day you know give me news in the past seven days you know across these 15
126. 21:00sites and then here where it says sources each one of those has a list of um what the sources were they don't link
127. 21:09because I ran out of credits before I could fix that but anyway um but every one of these buttons will
128. 21:18filter all the news stories beneath the news stories you can click on the the panel itself and it'll give you the
129. 21:25summary of the story and it'll you can only have one of those open at a time so you can just sort of zip around looking
130. 21:30at summaries really quick um if you click on the title that takes you to that actual article and it [ __ ] works like like
131. 21:41the fact that it works like it's three days later and it actually still all works is I find it staggering so we'll
132. 21:48go we'll go all categories here so here's all the Articles the the the search if I do open AI open AI um the the search is real
133. 21:58time like it did that filtering instantly right as you're typing it's filtering so if I do um image there's
134. 22:07two image things one's in image in video one's in Tech encoding um so anyway so here's the big here was the big Insight that I had um
135. 22:23Wednesday before the open AI creative writing update came out the lyrics for the Eminem song which by
136. 22:31the way the Eminem song I think you need to hear that I'm proud of it cause because I I ain't never had nothing go viral before

144. 24:06better at creative writing so one of the very first prompts that I put into chat GPT when I first started in in December of
145. 24:172022 chat gbt was kind of answering all of my questions like I felt like holy crap am I am I like witnessing like
146. 24:25we've we've surpassed the Turing test and the answer is yes by the way I think um and so one of the first prompts I put in
147. 24:35was um write an Eminem rap about quantum mechanics because what popped in my head was how will it do if you take two very
148. 24:44disperate Concepts can it actually weave them together and it did surprisingly well and chat jpt in in my opinion was
149. 24:51the best at this really the whole time but no large language model including chat GPT would ever really get the rap
150. 25:01lyrics like Eminem like no matter how much I prompted it and tried to get it to make it like Eminem it wouldn't do
151. 25:08his internal rhyme structures and the word play that he does and the double on chandras and the mixing of Concepts and
152. 25:14culture and all sorts of stuff like that it just wouldn't do it and then Wednesday or Thursday I tried it and it
153. 25:22worked it just [ __ ] worked it was this creative writing update did it and it was like all of a sudden it worked
154. 25:27and then I threw him over into sunno which a new version of that came out and then Kelly did this video Kelly Bosch
155. 25:34did this video If You Don't Know Her work she's amazing um she did this video in one day well like half a day um and
156. 25:42showed up on a live here one night and just dropped it um so she did the images in dolly3 in chat GPT and then animated

188. 30:07this tweet um that um I have a whole um linguistic scavenger hunt here so the linguistic scavenger hunt is

190. 30:29Tundras the one of the things that that really pissed me off like I've been trying to get any large language model to write with this level

193. 30:52analyze it and it's [ __ ] insane so anyway so this post is a little scavenger hunt so just go and it's you know find all 18

211. 33:42going and I couldn't I just couldn't do it like the thing about all of these AI tools right now is and I've had a lot of
212. 33:50people say they're trying to replicate what I did in the the uh the quantum Cipher thing and they can't do it that's
213. 33:58just how it [ __ ] goes like sometimes you're you feel like you're an absolute Master of the Universe and other times

257. 42:42labs to do the voice synthesis and you know hen to do the animation and mid journey to do the images and so there's
258. 42:50all sorts of stuff to explore so I figured we could explore that all week so with that let me let me go grab
259. 42:59some some comments here so from Ocean I think is that ocean Kyle yes the tools getting less janky however where would it
260. 43:11stop is there are there limitations or a roof where it should be stopped um well it's a good question uh
261. 43:29where will it stop where has technology ever [Music] stopped I don't think the technology
262. 43:44will stop I don't think the Innovations will stop your question about is there a point at which it should be stopped I don't know
263. 43:53um I think some lab in China just put out a paper that they said that they're able to use um Quantum Computing to crack military
264. 44:04grade ciphers conceptually military grade encryption is probably um short for this world if that's the case Bitcoin is
265. 44:19probably at risk right so there are there are some things that you could say that if that happens every will break
266. 44:27and everything will be bad but I think you could also you could also make that argument for if you're a copywriter and chat GPT
267. 44:36writes better than you two isn't that catastrophic for the copywriter so I think I think every advancement in this
268. 44:43in in this technology is going to drive some new disruption and I think I think the era that we're about to enter and I
269. 44:51think 2025 is probably going to be the first year where we start to see real disruption that that the tools up to this point
270. 44:59from you know when chat GPT launched in November 30th you know Friday will be the 2-year anniversary of chat
271. 45:09GPT until now everything's been so janky and kind of acceptable right but it hasn't been truly Earth shattering um 2025 I think
272. 45:23we start to see some more Earth shattering kind of Technologies and more major disruptions [Music] um I mean the question about is there a
273. 45:39point at which you should stop it my question is how do you stop it right so so if you make the presumption that the frontier labs are
274. 45:51going to be making increasingly powerful models and if meta continues on their of releasing open source models that are
275. 45:59in line with what the frontier companies are doing um at what point does that does that race stop I I don't see it stopping
276. 46:08so I don't know that you can stop those guys the open source Community they're going to keep going and they're going to

290. 48:08article last week that talked about they did a study of 50 doctors and chat GPT I guess they gave them all cases I guess it was a controlled
291. 48:21study 50 doctors they give them patient cases chat jpt got the diagnosis right 90% of the time 90% of the time the Doctors Without
292. 48:36chat GPT got it right 72% of the time and with chat GPT got it right 76% of the time and you're like well wait a
293. 48:45minute the doctor plus GPT should be better than just GPT alone no because what they found is that if chat GPT
294. 48:54contradicted what their initial diagnosis was was they questioned [Laughter] it so I saw another thing on Twitter I
295. 49:08don't I don't know the valid validity of this or the source but it seems plausible that that someone said with $24
296. 49:18billion we could have a vaccine for the 20 26 categories of viruses that in infect humans um and um we could have those
297. 49:32vaccines within 100 days so so it's possible it's possible we're coming up on you know 2025 could be a year where we see lots and lots of
298. 49:43breakthroughs but I think I think we're going to start to see big disruptions in 2025 um business is going to move way
299. 49:52slower than this AI stuff always um and what that means I I experienced this in in 1994 and 95 is if you're young in spirit because
300. 50:07ain't none of us young anymore if you have young energy and you're ambitious and you learn this AI [ __ ] because businesses are going to
