0:01 If it's made with AI, it can't be
0:03 creative, right? That's what I keep
0:04 hearing. I just put out this song, the
0:06 quantum cipher, which you'll listen to
0:08 right after I talk here. And then after
0:11 the song, I'm going to talk about why it
0:14 is a creative piece, why it is a
0:16 creative act, why that dog's barking.
0:19 All right, listen to the song and then
0:22 I'll tell you why AI created work can
0:25 absolutely be creative and is absolutely
0:28 a creative expression 1,000%.
0:32 [Music]
0:41 I'm tangled with the beat. Spooky action
0:43 in the booth. Split the atom with a
0:45 pattern. Every part's a burst of truth.
0:47 Super position in the mission. Fusion
0:48 fusing my intentions parallel in every
0:50 line. I'm a prism of dimensions.
0:52 Multi-elabic antics. I'm manic with the
0:54 semantics. My rhymes collide like
0:56 particles dynamic and gigantic
0:57 oscillating dominate. I'm weaving
0:59 quantum states. Spit a verse and watch
1:01 the multiverse reciprocate. I'm discreet
1:03 like planks beat. Energy and tight
1:05 packets. When I rapids, math and motion
1:07 flipping flows into fractals. E equals
1:09 NC squ in every letter I write. My pen
1:11 ignites like antimatter when it clashes
1:13 with light. Quick as a flick of a wrist,
1:14 I'm a lyrical catalyst. Anatomically
1:16 splitting the script. I'm equipped with
1:18 the mattest whip. Flipping the tempo
1:19 while I bent a knit in the mental
1:21 crescendo. Sending my syllable slicing
1:23 through time like a sharp inuendo.
1:24 Corner precision. I'm ripping the
1:25 rhythm. I'm spitting in prisms. Sipping
1:27 divisions. I'm shifting dimensions with
1:28 lyrical decisions. Accelerate level.
1:30 Take elevate thoughts in a turbulent
1:31 spin. I'm the velocity ripping apart the
1:33 facade that you're certain you're in.
1:35 Time dilation and cadence. I stretch the
1:36 seconds. I'm pacing. Heisenberg with the
1:38 mic. Uncertainties the foundation.
1:40 Observer effect and effect the second I
1:42 start to speak. Collapse reality's
1:44 potential with every word that I tweak.
1:45 Yo, my flows a firmian spinning in
1:47 lyrical collisions. Every bar's a quark
1:49 sparking a fusion of my visions. I'm a
1:51 wave in a particle. Unpredictable art
1:54 entangled in the cipher splitting atoms
1:55 with my heart. From wormholes to
1:57 portals, I'm immortal with the schemes
1:59 through the fabric of this rap. I sold
2:00 the threads of my dreams. Dark matter in
2:02 my patterns unseen but colossal black
2:05 hole soul pulling rhythms through the
2:06 gospel. Double the trouble. I'm stacking
2:08 the rubble. My rhombs are combusting,
2:09 speeding and weaving. Believe it. I'm
2:11 leaving your speakers erupting. I'm the
2:12 equation of pace and erasing the limits
2:14 of sound. Taking the crown, breaking the
2:16 bounds. I'm a force you can't slow down.
2:18 Rapidly tapping the map of my mind. I
2:20 define every pattern in motion. Bars are
2:22 a bullet. I pull it and shoot it with
2:24 ruthless devotion. I'm the ignition of
2:25 friction, depicting a world that is
2:27 vivid and bright. Fire and fury. I bury
2:29 the track in a blaze at the speed of
2:31 light.
2:32 [Music]
2:38 Shifting perspectives midline like
2:40 quantum flips in my grind. Infinite
2:42 chances to shine. I'm the master of
2:44 spaceime. Every rhymes are singularity
2:46 collapsing the infinite. I'm the big
2:47 bang slang expanding my imprint
2:49 limitless. So step into the quantum
2:51 where the chaos aligns my bars of
2:52 entropic logic redefining the divine
2:55 from the smallest of particles to the
2:56 cosmos that we know. This is rap at its
2:58 limit. Quantum flow let it glow. Okay.
3:01 And explain an excruciating detail how I
3:03 made that track. So two years ago in
3:06 December of 2022, I was using chat GPT
3:10 and it was answering all my questions
3:11 and I thought there's got to be
3:12 something that can stump it. And I came
3:15 up with this little prompt. Write an
3:17 Eminem style rap lyric
3:21 explaining quantum mechanics. I thought,
3:23 what are the two most disperate things
3:26 you could put in a prompt and have it
3:28 meld together? And it did it shockingly
3:31 well. It it got the science concepts. It
3:34 got rhymes and some of the raps and song
3:37 structure. Did it pretty good, but it
3:40 never quite captured the thing. The
3:42 reason I chose Eminem is he's known for
3:44 his word play. He's known for the
3:46 sophistication of his internal rhyming
3:48 schemes and the lyrics and the
3:50 syncupation and the double antandras,
3:52 right? For two years,
3:56 no LLM had come close. So, so part of it
3:58 is just I've been working on this prompt
4:02 for two years. One of the misconceptions
4:04 about AI is you push a button and a song
4:06 comes out. No, this is a an intentional
4:09 thing I've been thinking about for a
4:10 long long time.
4:12 This week, OpenAI launches a new version
4:15 of GPT40
4:17 that's better at creative writing. And
4:19 so I thought, let me test it with my
4:21 favorite prompt. And I prompted it. And
4:24 it did good. And it looked like the kind
4:26 of thing that I'd been looking for. And
4:29 then I changed the prompt and I refined
4:31 the lyrics. And I did it three or four
4:33 times. And I got them to the point that
4:34 I'm like, "Yeah, these are really good."
4:36 Then I had chat GPT write me a prompt
4:40 about what Eminem music sounds like. I
4:44 didn't particularly pay attention to it.
4:46 I just said, "Write it out." It said
4:47 machine gun style. Something great. Put
4:51 that into V4, which was also new this
4:53 week. And out came some really good
4:57 songs. And then something struck me.
5:00 While it sounds good, one of the things
5:02 that's really impressive about Eminem's
5:04 raps is when he goes into double time.
5:08 I can't even do it with my tongue. And
5:10 so I went back to chat GPT and I said,
5:13 "Write me some double time lyrics." And
5:16 so I took those lyrics and I put them in
5:17 the verses and I indicated to Sununo,
5:20 double time. This is where I want you to
5:22 go double time. I didn't know if it'd
5:24 work. It did. Well, it failed four or
5:27 five times and it succeeded once. The
5:30 track that you just heard, it succeeded
5:32 there. So, I had a dozen tracks to
5:34 choose from. I chose this one. This is
5:36 the one I chose to put out there. So,
5:39 the work that you hear is something that
5:41 I've had in my head for years now, and
5:44 I've never been able to listen to. And
5:46 all of that work of prompting and
5:48 thinking about it and is this the exact
5:51 right
5:53 cadence and rhythm and song.
5:56 All of that is part of the creative act.
5:57 Right? I'm the producer. I'm the
6:00 creative director of this song.
6:03 The creative act is the intention of
6:06 creating it and then knowing when to
6:09 stop producing and put it out in the
6:11 world. That choice to put it out in the
6:13 world is the moment of creation, not the
6:16 tool that was used to make it.
6:19 And if you're still sitting there with
6:22 your arms crossed calling
6:25 then you should go look up the guy named
6:26 Rick Rubin,
6:28 who if you don't know him, is one of the
6:30 most famous music producers in the
6:32 world.
6:33 He doesn't know how to sing. He can't
6:36 write songs. He can't work a mixing
6:38 console.
6:40 He's got taste.
6:42 He's a producer. He's got intention. He
6:46 sits with artists and makes something
6:48 that sounds good to him. That's exactly
6:51 what I did with AI. It's an act of
6:54 creation. And if you still don't think
6:56 that's true, then you should probably
6:58 call up Rick Rubin and demand that he
7:01 give back his Grammys. Peace.
